Arcadia Dolls - Wait Times?

Jun 4, 2010

    1. Weird that they are shipping from the US, although it doesn't affect me. I wonder why?

I have had an order with them since May, with an addition in June. I haven't been too concerned since they are obviously backed-up, having had to close their shop in order to catch up on orders. Of course, I haven't been waiting as long as some people...! *_*

    2. and my order is still not shipped, though they promised me to ship it week ago...... at this point I dont even want to mail them again, 'cause there's no point in doing it =_= oh well. 17th week is coming up~

    3. My transaction with them is over with now (thankfully) but I did find them through their MP thread here if it helps any.

    4. I also ordered through the Arcadia MP thread. It led me to the Arcadia website.

Ordered in March, with an addition in April.

    5. I have a great deal of information about this. I ordered over €1000.00 in merchandise from Arcadia Dolls.. Most of it is over six months late. I am waiting for a reply. If I do not receive a satisfactory one, I will unlock a website I've mounted that will give you all complete facts and actions to take. I hope you don't mind, but I will wait until 24 September - next Friday.

This is not a small problem. It is a big problem.

In the meantime, it would be helpful for every single customer on DOA to write a message on this thread - with the amount of your order, the time you waited, whether it was received and from where it was sent. Please include how many times you have written asking where your order is. Everyone deserves to either receive a full refund or their complete order ASAP and on a scheduled date.

I found them on DOA and then ordered.

      I think I can help.

    6. Recently, I haven't had any problems with Arcadia Dolls getting back to me quickly with answers to my request for updates.

They've always been very apologetic and polite in their responses to me. They know this is a serious problem, and they assured me that they are working very hard to correct the situation.

Believe me, Im not trying to tell you that your concerns are unwarranted, and Im not speaking for anyone else. Everyone needs to do what they feel is right. I know the waiting sucks...I've been waiting 6 months, too, for my order. But, personally, Im going to give them the benefit of the doubt, and continue to wait. Their quick responses to my inquiries and apologies for all the delays are reason enough for me to believe they will eventually mail my order. (*crosses fingers*)

I have been in this hobby for four (4) years now, and I've endured a lot of waiting for this-or-that doll to arrive, and the one thing that this hobby has taught me is "patience".

    7. We all have patience here, you can't be in this hobby and not, but when there's very little/none at all/ rude communication, you do seriously doubt the professionalism of the company you're dealing with and really, that's what's occured here.

I'm glad they seem to have at least begun to be civil and timely in their responses to queries, that can only help them now.

    8. Zagzagael, I ordered from their site, but link to their site I found here on DoA, in their thread.

Personally I don't want a refund yet, I want my order. Since they were promising to ship it week ago, my order must be nearly finished, I wonder?

    9. The moderators of DoA cannot and do not get involved in Marketplace transactions. However, there are several options available through the forum for members to reach resolution in problem transactions in a publicly accountable way. I, myself, have had a wonderful and positive and very professional transaction with Arcadia Dolls and I do sincerely hope this current "issue" is a temporary one. In the meantime, if a member would like to volunteer as "organizer" and is willing to have members pm her and keep track of the list of those waiting, that might help - that list could then be posted into our wiki very much like this list for those members who were in "problem transactions" with Charles Creature Cabinet -

      http://www.denofangels.com/doawiki/index.php?title=CCC_waitlist

    10. Gee, that is a great idea, Zagzagael. I know there are many of us hoping this problem will have resolution. I would be happy to format the list. If anyone who is waiting would let me know via PM, I will keep a list of who is waiting that can be posted into our wiki. Likewise, as orders are filled, we can list those resolutions too. I think we would all feel more comfortable with the waits - some very long - if we had company.

Is that okay with everyone? I'm happy to step aside if someone else would prefer to do the job.

    11. Thanks Rowan, I am waiting on 2 orders. One placed February 14th, the other March 12th. Value of orders is US$203.15. I was told it would take 3 to 8 weeks for the orders to be shipped. Since then I've had one email from Arcadia (in June) which was after I emailed them asking what was going on. No other communication or updates. Very disappointed with the service and the wait. I was so looking forward to getting these outfits but this wait of over 6 months now has just put me off them for good, and it's made much worse by the absolute lack of company initiated updates or communication.

Are any orders being shipped? Has anyone here received their orders?

    12. I've just read through the 2 previous pages and I am NOT happy that people who have ordered AFTER me are getting their orders now. Where's mine!?? I ordered standard sizes - nothing outrageous. Do I have to start chucking a tantrum to get some action on my order? Bloody hell - this is just a farce!

    13. I'm keeping track. If you have waited for your order or are still waiting for your order, please PM me or post on this thread. There are quite a few of us still waiting. If your order arrived but was incomplete, please let me know. If you receive your order, it would be helpful to know that too! :)

      Thanks!

    14. I haven't been waiting as long as many in this thread have been, but I haven't received an update on my order either. I placed and paid for an outfit on June 8th, for €68.60 ($84.17). I sent an email asking for updates in July, but didn't get a reply. Just sent another email, will post again if I get an answer.

    15. Thanks, Strow. You've been added to the list. :...(

    16. rowan, thanks for making the list for us! Here info about my order:
I placed my order on 28th may, value €159. I ordered one boy outfit from circus line in msd size; msd shirt, yo-sd dress and yo-sd petticoat from garden line. After I paid I got a notice that my order will be complete within 3-8 weeks. I mailed them for the first time only after 8 weeks were over - 26th july. No reply. 3th August, no reply. On my mail from 9th August they finally answered with vague explanation that they have problems and there'll be delay. I waited for 2 weeks and mailed them again, on 24th august. No replay. Loosing patience, I mailed them again on 28th august, asking not for estimate shipping date, explanations, or whatever, but what exactly of my order they already finished... and got an answer the same day, where they wrote that they are going to put my order on the mail by Saturday September 11th. And today is September 21th and my order is not yet shipped, and I didn't get any mail from them, nor mailed them on my own.

    17. Thanks, Karmade. Because of the sizes, I know which outfits you mean. None of them are overly complicated, are they? I've recorded all of your information on our list. Thank you for giving such accurate details. Did you ever receive a tracking number? I'm so glad you posted for the list. Thanks again!

    18. rowan, no tracking number, I suppose they didn't ship it yet, order status on site is still 'payment received" :\ As for outfits, I think they are indeed not so difficult, aside of circus outfit I ordered, this one. Jacket must be not very easy to do, I believe. But not that much to make it over 16 weeks o_o

    19. Interim Report: 21 September 2010, 9:50 AM EDT

I have reports for 22 customers on DOA.

I will post a Wait List to Wiki by Saturday, 25 September 2010.

Please continue to send me PMs or post in this thread so that you can be counted!

      Thank you!

Together, we can make a difference. :aheartbea

    20. Adding my name to the list of people waiting. I ordered this Arcadia circus outfit for a minifee from them on the 11th of April. Two months later on the 15th of June I sent an e-mail asking about my order status and just over a week later on the 26th I received a polite response saying they were late with orders but were working to finish it as soon as possible. Since then I've been keeping track of this thread to see if anyone has received their orders and then on the 16th of this month I sent them another email using the new address Cassandra gave earlier in the thread, [email protected] and got this response the very same day. Hopefully it means there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

I have ordered from Arcadia dolls once before and though there was also a slight delay that time it was nothing like this. Their outfits are lovely, well made and I originally hoped to order more off them in the future but now am not so sure :( suppose I'll just have to wait and see how this whole situation pans out.

    21. Karmade, thanks for the additional information. You are right - not so difficult - even the circus jacket/ensemble is a one day project (or less) for an experienced seamstress.

    22. Thank you for submitting your information. I am adding it to the Interim report (page 4 of this thread.) I put you on the "official" list with the information you forwarded. I am so sorry this is happening to so many of us. :...(

      Thank you again.

    23. oh my god, this list looks scary o__________o I am close to the bottom of it and they were promising to ship my order to me week ago?

Also I am curious why Cassandra is not commenting on this thread anymore. She's part of Arcadia Doll isn't she? It's strange that her sister now in charge of sewing and answering messages, while Cassandra is not even backing them up in this thread while we are all worried and angry.

    24. Thanks for compiling and organizing the list, Rowan. It looks scary. :shudder

I got a reply to my email from [email protected] the same day I sent it. I'm not sure if the person behind that address is Cassandra or not, but it's someone who's currently in correspondence with Licanen. I was promised an update on my order sometime this evening.

    25. strow,

I know exactly who wrote that message. I will also explain why Lincanen is not available. I think we still have a chance of making this right but we need everyone's cooperation and help. Believe it or not, I hold hope that we are already making some progress.

If I don't have exactly what I requested by Friday of this week, I will have much more information to share.

      Stay tuned!

And thank you for sharing the response you received.

    26. I don't expect Mercedes will be of much help at this time.

I personally think a promise is a pledge. Some people, it seems, think a promise is an excuse. 'Just my own personal meanderings ...

I am grateful for the sense of community we have here on DOA. It is an important and substantial tool we have to help right a wrong - a blessing in this case!

    27. OH.......MY.......GOD! That list has just freaked me out! Only 3 people on DoA have received their orders this year?!!! This is much worse than I thought.

Rowan you are fantastic! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THIS!!!

    28. phae_11 - I can't take any credit here. I am just acting as the secretary. Zagzagael suggested we compile a list which was a terrific idea. Dissonance kindly started this thread - giving us the opportunity to compare our circumstances and begin the discussion. And everyone who replies contributes to finding a solution.

There may be more than 3 people on DOA who received their orders this year. On the other hand, there are likely to also be many more people that have not received their orders this year. At this point, our evidence is that one person out of 6 has received their completed order in 2010. Hopefully, we will find a way - as a group - to get those odds up to 1 out of 1!

    29. Update - I emailed Arcadia and they have replied that my order should be shipped in the third or last week of next month (October). So more waiting for me but at least I have a timeframe. Will keep any progress or updates posted in this thread.

    30. I just wanted to pop in and say that I received my June 8th order today - MSD sized lolita blouse, pantalettes and stockings.

It was shipped from Maxton, NC, in the US, and was marked as "documents" costing $10, but described as "doll clothes"; luckily it slipped through customs without problems, despite this.

I'll update about the clothes themselves when I'm home and have had the chance to take a closer look. ETA: The outfit fits my DOC boy very nicely, and he looks super cute <3 The quality is pretty good overall, as the outfit is quite a fiddly one, though there are a few poorly finished ends of seams - not ones that look like they might fall apart, but a bit messy - and the bottom edge of the blouse is a bit pulled out of shape. Hopefully a hot iron can set it back to proper shape. Overall, it does look very good on, though, so I'd say I'm satisfied.

    31. Phae_11 - This is a new promise for you. I hope it comes true!

    32. who_la_hoop - How odd that the package was marked "documents $10." I am so glad you had no trouble with Customs. Comparatively speaking, they were almost speedy with your order compared to some. However, 15 1/2 weeks is a very long time to make an outfit that an experienced seamstress could do in less than half a day if i am guessing the proper outfit. I'm glad you are satisfied. For the price, you should have seams that are not messy but perfect. I suppose, if one were in a rush, the outfit could be made in two hours. Two hours would not give time to adequately finish seams. I hope the hot iron straightens things out!

Thank you for writing your good news. Let's hope the good news continues!

    33. OMG, so thus far only four people received their 2010 orders?? :o I've been lurking on this thread for a while, telling myself to be patient and to give Acadia Dolls the benefit of the doubt, knowing that they're really trying to catch up on their work. Though now I'm "scared out" and had to say something: Gah~~ I'm still waiting for my Feb 27 order ($329 USD; all MSD size)!!! :...(

This is my first time ordering from Arcadia Dolls, but the ridiculously long wait time and lack of communication have turned this into a very disappointing experience. And to think, in the beginning, I was actually really excited to be ordering Arcadia dresses for my dolls!

Though yeah, I wanna thank rowan too for compiling the list, letting everyone know they're not alone in this situation. ^^

Hopefully more people will be receiving their orders in the coming weeks!!

    34. Remember, this is four people who have given up their information. I've heard of people getting their orders who aren't active here on DoA, so there could be plenty more who have (and plenty more who haven't). This is just a section of those who are waiting for orders.

    35. Bonberry - I recorded your information. You have just finished waiting 30 weeks. Have you received any communication from them? This list is to do our best to see every single person who is waiting receive their order - soon! I'm glad you wrote to this thread to stand up and be counted.

We are all in this together. Hopefully we can solve this problem together too!

    36. kawaii_mon - I agree with you. We have a small sample. However, there are at least 15 members of DOA who have ordered from Arcadia and have not received their orders. These orders are all from 2010 with longest wait time from 1 January 2010 (going on 39 weeks) and shortest wait time of 15 weeks. The average order is approximately €200.00. We might assume that only 10% of the people who received their order are accounted for here - although the feedback threads for Arcadia do not indicate this. But if only 10% who have received their orders in 2010 have reported, perhaps we can safely assume that only 10% of those who have not received their orders are accounted for here. (There are other forums.) I've heard from 3 others who have not received their orders but they are not members here and are not on our wait list. At least five people have asked for a refund. All five were refused. My assumption is that people ordering prior to 2010 have all received their orders unless I hear something to the contrary. There seems to be a dramatic reversal of that trend in 2010.

      I believe I know why.

But I appreciate your comment. We cannot compare numbers of fulfilled versus non-fulfilled orders on this thread as we have a skewed sample. The people who will tend to report here are people who are still waiting for their 2010 orders.

I hope there are not too many more - but I also hope that everyone waiting will write to this thread or write privately to me in order to be placed on the wait list.

      Good comment!

    37. I guess I am jumping in here now, too. :( I bought an Arcadia Circus outfit and hat, I ordered on May 27th, I believe. I e-mailed them finally about a month ago and got basically the same response as strow. Its been almost four months now. I really hope I do get my items, I am starting to get worried now.

I bought an outfit from them a year ago and it took 3 months to get here, that was a bit much. But this is worse! I think this may be the last time I order from them. =o(

    38. I'm still waiting for a shipping notice but i'm not holding my breath. I am on my 17th week. :( By the looks of the amount of time others have been waiting, it looks like I have a lot longer to go. -_-

    39. bumping thread:::
still no reply to my emails sent to Arcadia

      ???????????????????????

    40. Anya's Mom - Thank you for adding your information. Like everyone here, I wish you were not also negatively impacted. I've recorded your order and will include it in the Wiki Wait List we are compiling. Stay tuned ... There is more infornation coning ...

    41. crybabymommie - They seem to be having great difficulty communicating effectively with their customers. I think I have some ideas that should improve communication ...

    42. Here is a website for you: http://web.me.com/deercott/Acadia_Dolls_Contract/Breach_of_Contract,_The_Introduction.html

There is contact information as well as disclosure of facts that may be of interest to you.

Make sure you read all the pages. You can click on each one by seeing the top margin titles. They are in order.

I tried to be complete and discuss all facets of our problem.

      I hope this helps!

Please excuse any typos. I am famous for them.

I'm still working on the Wiki list. The computer and I are sick of looking at each other tonight. (grin)

LMK if you have any comments, suggestions or questions. Thanks!

    43. rowan, oh. my. god. This is seriously, seriously not cool at all x_x Thank you for all your hard work! I will now go write them, because since the date they promised to ship my order passed two whole weeks.... And I cant even demand a refund, because I live in Russia, and we cant receive money with paypal, we can only pay. My only hope is that they will ship my order =\

    44. karmade - Just write them. Use every address. Continue to write if you don't get a response right away. You have options to report this if you desire but probably you would simply like your order to be completed - pronto! This is a very serious problem and I am hoping that once Arcadia realizes the serious implications, they will make delivery promises that they keep - right down to the minute. If it comes down to a refund then perhaps one of us - that you trust - could "bank" your refund until you find something else you'd like to buy. Don't worry. For every problem, there is a solution. Right now, we all need to impress on the Porrua/Rodrigo group that they must produce the items now or issue a refund else there are other irregularities that will need to be explored. All of us are hoping we can simply receive what we purchased, have a fair refund of any extra postage charges and walk away.

I will not drop the website until I am assured every single customer has received their order or their money.

As for the website, all pages are listed, in order, at the top of each page in white block print. The link will put you on the first page. All of the links and emails are "live." If anyone hits a bad link or finds a bad email address, please let me know. The links work with my browser (Safari) but I cannot be sure about other browsers.

Here is the link again: http://web.me.com/deercott/Acadia_Dolls_Contract/Breach_of_Contract,_The_Introduction.html

Don't worry. Just write until you receive the right answer.

    45. I just e-mailed them again, since it has been a few weeks since I last emailed them and have not gotten any update or shipping noticfication. >< Here's what I wrote:

I really do hope this works. :(

    46. Wow, thank you for putting this website up, rowan. I admit, I really am angry now after reading everything, this is just wrong of them. :x I hope that we can come to a resolution and everyone gets thier items or a refund. =/

    47. Anya'sMom - I'm glad you wrote them. You do what you feel comfortable doing but I would gently suggest that you write to all of the addresses I listed for the three "players" - you can do it all in one email heading (just separate the addresses with a comma) and continue to write until you get an answer. I also listed a contact phone number in NC. If you are willing, I think you should set a firm date for receiving your order. It might help your correspondence along. Certainly, you will be nice but you can also be very firm. You are in your legal right to demand receipt of your paid-in-full order or a full refund. They are currently in breach of their contract with you.

I, too, am hopeful that this comes to resolution with good outcome for everyone.

    48. I mailed them yesterday asking about my order and they answered quite soon, saying that my order is not shipped yet because one outfit from my order is not yet finished.... because they run out of fabric for it.... and they dont know when they'll get more of it.... but once they do, they promise to finish this outfit in 3-4 days o_o. Right. But oh well, today they shipped all the other items I ordered aside of this outfit, so that's quite a move!

Oh, and they gave me giggles finishing their littter with
      riiiight... *rolling eyes*

    49. You can put me on that list too, rowan. I ordered a standard size outfit and a pair of yo-sd socks June 25 and I'm still waiting. Haven't tried to contact them though...

    50. I am sorry to hear you're waiting too but I am so glad you wrote about the delay. I'll put you on the list!

You've been very patient but I think it is probably time to start writing them to get a definite delivery date. You're at 96 days or almost 14 weeks. I've listed multiple phone numbers (although this could get expensive), email addresses and snail-mail addresses. Write and keep writing until you get an answer. If the date passes without delivery, I suggest you look at some of the other "logical consequences" contacts I've listed. I'm hoping for your success!

    51. Thank you for the advice, rowan. I think I will try this either tonight or tomorrow since I still have not gotten a reply. :vein

    52. Right is a good expression for this! I can't believe they threatened you, Karmade. This is really the height of silliness. Everyone here on DOA knows perfectly well the "list" is formed from the posts on this thread and PMs. How dare a non-member tell us to use "extreme caution" in dealing with each other - especially when the person who is causing us to come together in the first place - and on this thread - IS the problem. Good grief!

Well, I guess it takes all sorts of people to make up our world ... (sigh)

      I'm giggling with you.

I am so glad they have given you a firm date for delivery and it is on its way. Do you have a tracking number? I don't understand these excuses about being "out of fabric" since their website would mark out fabrics that were no longer available. If they are out, then they need to refund money for orders that they lack material to fill.

Each of us needs to call, write and continue to ask for fulfillment of our orders. i've given you contact information for further actions you can take if you don't receive full satisfaction. Remember, you have a business contract with these people. Especially when it comes to International Commerce, there are many agencies who specialize in seeing that the rules are followed. when it comes to Internet Commerce, there are even more agencies who have a vested interest in fair trade. Fair trade, when it comes to potential consumer fraud, is protected.

We speak of business here and good and legal outcome. Let the talk of emotions, domestic violence, adultery, tax fraud, abandoned children, personal circumstances and other worldly tragedy stay where they properly belong ... behind closed doors. We only wish for our business contracts to be completed as legally required. Right?

I will be happy when every single one of us has received our order and/or refund and this business with Arcadia Dolls is properly closed. Until then, I am so glad we have a place to record progress!

    53. Anya'sMom - I listed a couple more phone numbers in part II of the webpage. I think, with persistence, you will find a way to reach them to communicate your need to have your order fulfilled!

I continue to hope for good outcomes for each of us.

    54. rowan, yep, I've got a tracking number =) Regarding the fabric, I found it strange, too, but considering that they shipped all my other ordered items, I will give them time. Who knows, they might have really run out of it... I'll be back with update once part of my order will arrive, or if anything else happens.

    55. I worry that getting legal authorities after them will just cause them to shut down and run off, so that no one gets anything, refunds or items...

I've seen this happen before. Just saying. It's possible to just run off--and do it legally (it's called bankruptcy) and no one will see anything. I know people want money back and/or their items. And people should be getting after them for not communicating and for not giving refunds, etc. But if they actually seem like they are going to try and fulfill orders, that might be better than having them close up shop and leave everyone high and dry.

I think it's good that they are no longer accepting more orders, so no one new will be in trouble with them, at least.

I will only be pissed if I don't get my items...

    56. Rowan: You've listed my personal info on your website: my full name, my home address and my personal phone number. I'm the Arcadia Dolls' webmaster so that's why the website is linked to my personal information.

As I tried to explain so many times before, I've acted as a photographer and webmaster for my sister. I also acted as translator because of her poor English. But I've never been involved in the Arcadia Dolls' production. Arcadia Dolls is a single person business, so I can't understand why are you involving me or my sister's fiancée.

As far as I know, all your orders have already been finished and sent, including an important gift to compensate for the long waiting. So I can't understand why have you started this crusade to damage our reputation. I understand the anger of a long waiting, but anyway that's not my fault, so why am I also being attacked?

I just ask you politely to remove my personal information from your website, because that won't help anyone.

    57. April - I am totally with you. I think that it is very important that each person write until they receive a satisfactory answer. The authorities are there - and available - if any one of us is not satisfied. The only satisfactory answer is the receipt of our merchandise. Until that happens, there is still a problem. I'm waiting too. Until the things I ordered are in my hands my order is not fulfilled. And until I am refunded excess postage charges after paying for shipping from Spain but instead receiving packages locally shipped in the US, my business contract with Arcadia Dolls is flawed.

My concern has always been for all of us - each of us who have ordered and the potential legal mess that Enrique, Concha and Mercedes have created for themselves. My hope is that everyone, Arcadia Dolls included, either gives or gets that which is due them and we all walk away wiser but satisfied.

    58. Rowan, I'm not legally bound to Arcadia Dolls at all, and I've never been. I made all my work for free, just to help a relative with my photography and web design skills. I'm not registered as an employee, member or partner for Arcadia Dolls. So exposing my personal info in your website won't help anyone, and it's really bothering me.

I acted as a spokesperson for Arcadia Dolls in this forum, and I really regret it now because I'm being involved in this situation, and I really feel I don't deserve it.

As a doll collector, I understand customer's complains about delays, but I think this situation is getting unreasonable.

I would like my sister to register the forum and speak for herself, but I'm not her and I can't make decisions instead of her. I'm just asking you, Rowan, to please remove my personal information from your website because that's hurting me.

    59. rowan, I have to confess that I'm not sure how knowing what the outside of Licanen's boyfriend's house looks like, or his professional qualifications, or Cassandra's phone number, will help customers get their orders faster. The only person who can fix this is Licanen, and I just don't think that antagonising her boyfriend or her sister will help fix things, however frustrating and poor Arcadia's business practices are (the answer to which, of course, is: very).

My suggestion would be that you remove these personal details and give your email address on your site, telling people that if they are customers, they can contact you and you will supply them with Licanen's US address if they require it. Or, that they can look up the registered address of Arcadia Dolls themselves, using WhoIs, if they want Spanish details for the company. (Cassandra, I suggest that you turn the website registration over to your sister, if you don't want your details easily available online).
