Just came across this shoe site in my bookmarks. Does anyone have any of these shoes or know if they would fit our girls feet?

 

I have some of the lace up shoes (JS_LACESHOE AM) and theybere too narrow for Frankie's foot sadly

Yea it seems like those ADORABLE shoes are a bit narrow for our girls' feet...I'm still bookmarking the website though because those are really great prices!!

Took a new picture of Maya last night...I'm gonna be buying some alpaca hair to make her a new wig soon! I want to make her a really nice lilac colored one...I have to live through her as far as tattoos and hair colors go since I can't really do either with my current job... *crying forever*

She's so pretty and she poses beautifully, lilac hair will look fabulous with her skin tone. I also love the tattoos, I'm too much of a wimp to get one alas.

I was very lucky! I found some alpaca at a Renaissance Fair this weekend for 3 bucks! I think it will be my weekend project! It's an AWFUL color, but for my first test run it will work just fine. I'd rather ruin some ugly color than one I spent a lot of money on. I was thinking of hand dying it, but again...I'll wait for this go around!

I'm wanting to try and make wigs, but only because I can never find the right style or colour that I'm after.

Here's a new picture of Maya...finally gave her a septum piercing. XD I bought the little rings for it before she even arrived, but I never got around to finding the wire cutter thingies to do it. I came across them tonight and figured, "WHY NOT DO IT NOW?~" so there we are...haha

Samson Oooh yeeehhh a week off sounds LOVELY...I'll have my birthday week of this year which is AWESOME! I don't remember the last time my husband and I had a week off and didn't have to entertain guests. XD Hopefully we can do something fun!

I've felt so weird not having much to work on with Maya...She's pretty much right where I want her to be right now. XD I completely understand why people want multiple dolls...which is making the wait for my incoming one kinda difficult. O_O;

Thanks! I am excited to really work on her, but I just need more time to do so. I'll be sending her head off next month though, for her new faceup. ^_^ When she gets back, maybe I can work on her wig, body blushing, sueding, and tattoos. PHEW! Hahaha

HGGNNNN I just bought some white suri alpaca. I can't wait to work on a wig for Maya. >_<! I just have to decide what color to dye it...I think I'm probably gonna go with some kinda lilac color. *-*

Sorry I've not been as active. Sinead is still sitting on my doll shelf, like always. I've been thinking about making some difficult doll decisions lately, but it is always hard because I love all of my dolls for different reasons. But.... I'd rather focus on the ones I enjoy photographing.

Awww, it's okay Animethemed!! That's a fear of mine if I were to own more than a few dolls in the future...I'd feel like I didn't have time for all of them! I'm hoping that nothing really changes once my MNF arrive. I feel like I'm way too attached to Maya to contemplate ever selling her, but you never know, and that's the scary thing!! @_@; I hope you figure out what you want to do (and still hang out in here occasionally, even if Sinead ends up leaving you at some point)

Miyu, hehe I'm having trouble with that very thing right now. I have a bunch of dolls, and they all need work to get to that "finished" point. I've been too busy lately to even sit and focus on any one doll. Maybe next month I'll be less busy with work. :/

 

Well, it's been a tough couple of months, but I may be getting three new dolls at some point - Maggie, Sia and Ella... I've started going down a different direction with the dolls I have

 

Kera - That would be awesome for you to get those three!! They are all lovely!
I am on the same boat as you.. I'm doing all I can to keep Ava. Argh maybe things will get easier soon..!

 

Kera - YESSS you must get those three...and when you say different direction, do you mean you're liking different sculpts than the ones you currently have? Or are you styling them differently? What are your plans for those three?! SO MANY QUESTIONS!~

Animethemed - Maybe she needs a make over?! Like a new wig...or a new outfit or something?! That might help with your decision on if you're gonna keep her or not!


As for Maya...I finally got around to making a wig for her with the alpaca hair I ordered. I didn't wanna dye it and then mess up the hair (on the chance that I'd have a difficult time making the wig). Everything went smoothly though and I actually really love her in this color...never thought of her having white/platinum blonde hair but it really works well on her! @_@;

Miyu - I like the wig, I think white looks good on most dolls, oddly. It's a great color for them, but I wouldn't say many humans can get away with it!
I'll make my wig soon, things have been too busy on the weekends to do it.

 

Liking different sculpts, and finding out the 1/3rd size is WAYY too big for me. So Ella and Sia are going to be MSD versions of the two SDs, and Maggie *hopefully* will be the 3rd girl my Mr is "missing" from his characters. Of course, with no set plans for Maggie, she may be far far far down the list...

 

So I am working on the alpaca wig for Sinead (and one for my pukifee!) And realized the alpca I bought was cut short. About an inch, maybe two. Great for the pukifee but will be short on my MSDs. But in a way I am glad because it was sooo cheap that I can experiment and not feel like I wasted a lot of money. It was on $7 for three bags full after all! I think I'll make a couple with pigtails just for kicks... Even if it won't necessarily fit Sinead's personality.

Yeah, experiment with it for sure! That's the best way to find out what you can do with it.

 

Uhm I have a question about the tan skin. I got an tan skin ruby at home but after a day with me to a festival (in a bag with pillows and mask) she got a huge green discolouration in the middle of het face and green spots on her arms. Friends tell me it yellowing, but it's very uneven and blotchy. Before I took her with me and on the day itself she was fine. I took her out for not even half an hour...... is this normal, I keep her in her box now...

 

Wow that's really strange, teenage-angel...I've taken my tan skin girl outside loads of times (way more than 30 minutes worth) and she has had minimal discoloration, if any...I can't tell to be honest. That's crazy that there's some green discoloration. How long have you had her? Have you taken a few pictures?

 

20 dec is her birthday , so not even a year. I have tried to take pictures but it's not visible on them I'm really sad, I actually cried about it.

 

That's so weird...especially since you said she was in a bag most of the time. @_@; I don't see how that could happen that quickly!! I'm sorry for you I'd definitely have the same reaction.

 

I already contacted the dealer who sold her, when I get the chance to visit , I will take her with me. They would check her, I so hope I can get at least a new head. She got a real big spot right in the middle of her face , I don't really mind the body but the face keeps making me cry

I've had my tan AQ for over a year, and she was a year old when I got her secondhand. She's never changed color from what I can tell, and I take her out to meets every month.

saw so many nice pics of Chloe but less of Sia- this is why I wish to ask here, if somebody has Sia and can show me some pics with a face up. I wonder if she is too young for what I am looking for

Hello all! Gonna pop in here. I'm half way to buying my first AQ girl! I'm torn between Ava or Ruby in the light brown. >//< They are both so lovely. Are 12mm eyes too large for them? I found the perfect color but I'm afraid they will be too large.

 

Welcome, ResinToBe! I'd have to say from my experience that 12mm would definitely be too big...I find 10mm to be too big, but that's just my personal preference. My girl is wearing 8mm in her eyes! XD Ruby is GORGEOUS...I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who owns her!

Welcome to you too, greeneyed-soul! Unfortunately it's almost impossible to find some Sia owner pictures...x_x; I'd love for someone to take a chance and snatch her up so we can be showered with owner pics!!!

 

Doh, that's what I thought. Thanks @Miyukisetsu. I guess I have to re-search for eyes now. Oh well, shopping is half the fun! And yes, I just love Ruby. I'm torn. I love the open mouth look on dolls but I do my own face-ups and I'm afraid to paint teeth. Do many people own Ava?

a friend of mine does a mock of on sia of the face up i plan for her will look good. I love smokey eyes on bjds (this is why yours catched my eye) so hope she will look good and not be too young for this.
Think I order her. The body is beautiful. Thought about a JID girl. Cordelia from Iple but to be honest- too much money as I got to pay 20% custom on top.

The aquarius-doll-body looks great. Love those long legs. Iple got short ones. The JID I mean. So time for something new :-)

Ohh what I miss when I go into hibernation (not literally of course).

My Mia has different coloured legs to her high heeled feet, but I think that is my own fault for having her sat on my book case next to a light...
Sia is on my list of dolls to get (if I manage to get rid of the bigger dolls I have) along with Maggie and Ella. But at this rate, it'll be next year before I manage it!

 

My Ava wears 7mm eyes! She is such an awesome doll too! She was one of the first Aquarius dolls ordered, and the first here on DoA, but I haven't seen any discoloration (since someone mentioned their Ruby greening). She's handled everything really well! Here is an older picture of her! (I swear I'll start taking new pictures soon...It's just so hard when it gets dark before I get off of work!). This picture was before she had the smaller eyes in. The ones in are 8mm. [[PS - This is NOT an Aquariusdoll body! It makes her neck look long, but I prefer this look for her. It's a Souldoll N.L. body]]

I will try and grab a new picture tomorrow, and update this thread if I do!

Do you guys ever have a hard time finding eyes that small? If those are 8mm they look perfect. I just can't find any in the color I need. Not that it matters since I'm still on the shelf between Ava and Ruby. Why do all of their girls have to look so pretty?

 

ResinToBe My Chloe wears 8mm too. I bought Hand glass eyes from Safrin doll.

They're 8mm, but I had her in 10mm before that (they were a little too big for my liking though.

No, I only have an Ava! I don't know if I've seen any Ruby's!
All their dolls are gorgeous, and even more so in person. So whatever you decide I'm confident you will be happy!

I use 8mm eyes in Nashira, and they are ones I made myself from those DeyeY eyes. They are pretty cheap at $2 a pair, so if you want to get a bunch of them, and paint them differently you can.
(I got mine from Pupa Paradise)
I just used a metallic green acrylic paint on the backs of the lenses, then popped them back together.

Etsy also has a great selection of eyes! That's where I got Ava's! They are a tad more expensive but the quality is wonderful!

And I did it! I bought an Ava in light brown last night! So excited!!! Took me forever to order though; I'm shipping it to my mom's house because my apartment sucks (if it doesn't fit in the mail box they don't deliver) and the last time I got a doll it went straight back to the post office and I had to wait three days to pick it up. So I double and triple checked the address before I bought. So pumped!

I recently received some new eyes from a friend, and they were all handmade. These were a pair of 9mm green eyes, with flowers inside~

 

I saw your eye post, they all looked amazing! She really rocks 'em! And I feel ya, this month has been super busy. Darn holidays!

I have a wig already (size 7-8 wigs fit right?), but I'm not sure on the eyes. I want a certain shade of red and I found the PERFECT pair,but they only go down to 12mm, so I have to keep looking.

Ava has SMALL eyes! I would recommend 8mm or a bit less! [Depending on the company] but I say just look around until you find the color you want! Etsy is the greatest place for smaller eyes!
We know how hard it is to find eyes for these girls...but when you do it is so worth it!

 

I think 6/7 fits better ,7/8 are too big really Aquariusdolls have quite small noggins ( well in my tiny experience, I only have the one AQ doll)

 

Thank you Animethemed! I found some awesome eyes on Etsy. This one seller has a huge selection of handmade eyes. They are pretty high though so I'll prob get them closer to her arrival.

@samson: I noticed that. U_U I looked up the head size to compare with my JID--quiet a difference! I have an extra fur wig I bought for my JID that I was going to use. It fits her snugly (I can't even get a wig cap under it,) so I am hoping that with a wig cap it will fit well enough to last me till I find a mohair/alpaca one I like in the same style.

Anything new doll wise? I'm gonna be working on a new wig for poor Maya since my MNF Chloe has basically stolen the white one from her. XD I was playing around with the leftover locks I had from (now) Viv's wig and dyed them using food dye, which actually took pretty well! Gonna keep experimenting with it and see how it turns out. I've always wanted Maya to have purple-ish hair, and I'm thinking of making it a shorter wig? I dunno, I feel like I want to experiment with the style, too!! @_@ We'll see I guess.
