Moldmaking Apoxie for molds?

Oct 30, 2010

    1. I just through the possible uses for Apoxie, and among others it also says: "casting/molds". Now I found this extremely interesting.

Has any user here ever tried this stuff for mold making? I really cannot imagine how Apoxie should work for molds?

Another question: as I do not want to sell my doll, is there any need to cast him in resin? I guess Aves Apoxie could well stand all the stress put on it? Or is it too weak?

    2. I used it as an outer case that I poured the silicone into.

No, you don't need to cast him in resin :) Personally I've had no issues with Apoxie breaking on me, but just as long as its not too thin/small you should be fine

    3. Oh, that's good. Then I will him as he is (after having finished, of course).

I think if I do not let fall his feet too often on our floor, even these are quite sturdy.

There was only the question, as I do not want him to be a mere shelf piece, but really make him several outfits, take him out for photos, etc. So he will be played with quite a bit and has to take a bit.
