I'm looking to buy the otohime body, is there any reliable way to do this? The shop link on the Aoi Tuki website redirects to. A motorcycle. Anyone know anything?
Yeah, right now the only thing in Aoi-Tuki's webshop is that doll-scale Harley. But the good news is that a Japanese shopping service (Crescent, Celga, SMJ, etc.) should be able to contact Aoi-Tuki through the website, and ask about buying an Otohime body for you. I know that at least a few people have gone through shopping services to ask about items that aren't listed in Aoi-Tuki's webshop at the moment, and as far as I know A-T has always been willing to sell them.
i contacted a shopping service about acquiring one of these, and they could not help. they said the only way to get one was by an auction. they are only produced now and again one or two at a time.
I was planning on buying a Tukihime via Yahoo Japan Auctions, since that's the only way Aoi-Tuki appears to be selling dolls at the moment. Then they started marketing a run of a new body called "TukihimeLL" which has a huge and, to me, unnatural looking bust. The bust on the new body is more akin to some anime character than the natural look which drew me to the doll in the first place. Their website is not in English and they don't appear to have a Q&A board, nor does the News or Tukihime section explain (at least not when run through the translator I used) whether the old non-LL regular bust Tukihime body is available or will be in the future. Does anyone know of a way to just communicate with Aoi-Tuki and ask them whether the old body is ever coming back? I have used Crescent Shop to buy from them when they sold actual dolls in their store rather than just a toy motorcycle, but I hate to bother a buying service when it appears that they won't be getting a sale out of it, as someone else posted that Aoi-Tuki will no longer sell through buying services, only on Y!J.
well here is the place on his site to send an e-mail http://www.aoi-tuki.com/nmail/input.html First field - your name Second/third file - your e-mail address the big file for you message
On the front page there is a notice saying those who are hoping for overseas shipment should contact Celga. There is also a contact form but I'm not sure the artist or website owner speaks English. From what I have heard in the past, they have been pretty accommodating about selling extra parts (new arms f ex) to previous customers, so it should be possible to ask if they will be offering the old bust again, or if it is possible to order the old bust along with the TukiHimeLL. *looks like anavel beat me to it!
Thanks, I'll try both of those methods. There was a post on the last Aoi-Tuki thread in this forum that someone (miss_ally?) had tried to get extra parts through a shopping service and was told Aoi-Tuki only sold the full dolls through Y!J now. I hope they're still offerring the old Tuki body, it was one of the more realistic looking girl bodies out there because of the big booty and natural bust.
you have to get one through an auction... and they hardly come up. so.... i dunno.... would love one myself. apparently there are 2 kinds, one is a 1/6 scale doll, that is available more often.... the SD sized doll is made every so often in very limited amounts... that's how i understood them. (didn't read all the posts, so you already knew this)
I bought my Aoi-Tuki body through Rinkya. I just told them what I wanted. They contacted the artist about my request and a couple of days later, Rinkya sent me an invoice, which had to be paid immediately. I received my doll about a month later as they are made to order. It was about $500. or so. I've had my doll almost two years, so it may be more by now.
I've tried contacting through the web form and also through Celga, so we'll see who answers. Miss Ally, it's actually really easy to get one of their dolls off Y!J because they will do a run of like 6-10 and have them up one after the other for auction, usually with a BIN price set so you just basically buy it off the auction site with your favorite buying service. I've gotten an Otohime in the past that way. The dolls usually take a few days to sell on Y!J as well so there's time to look at them. The company sometimes takes long breaks between production runs and I've noticed they tend to do the run all of the same heads, so if you're looking for a particular head sculpt you might have to wait a while.
thanks for the info.... i am going to contact the shopping service again, as it looks like there is an auction running now....*crosses fingers*
Celga responded and said their person who usually handles requests like mine is out of town so could I e-mail again next week. Guess I'll mark my calendar.
OK, I'm getting very confused with this whole thing... I tried sending the question via Aoi-Tuki's website but I didn't get an answer. That didn't surprise me because they likely do not speak English. I tried sending the question via Celga. Someone initially let me know that the person who handles the inquiries was away so could I ask again the following week. Fine, I waited a week and sent the question again. I received a message back from someone at Celga saying they didn't understand what I was asking or "for what exactly was my deposit" or something like that. ??? I assumed this was language barrier so I tried to write out the same question again in simple language, basically that I am trying to find out if Aoi-Tuki still makes/ sells the old version small bust Tukihime body at all (as opposed to the new large bust TukihimeLL); and if they do sell the old version body, would I be able to buy it directly from them, either as a body alone or as a body plus head; or would I have to wait and get it through Y!J auctions the next time it is offered there. That was about a week ago and no answer from Celga. I e-mailed them again a day or two ago, politely asking if they'd been able to receive any information from Aoi-Tuki regarding my question, but have not gotten a response. I'm tempted to ask Crescent Shop if they could inquire as they always get back to me, but since Celga is supposed to be the "preferred" middleman, I don't want to step on any toes.
i would ask Crescent shop... they seem to have a good grasp of the English language. but.... when i asked them abut buying directly... they said it was not possible. i did manage to win the new large breasted one off YJ.... good luck with this!
Yes, that's my other worry, is that maybe they would sell a body through their "preferred" middleman only. Sigh, I hope Celga answers back. I guess I'll just keep e-mailing every few days until they do - and meanwhile keeping eye on the Marketplace for old Tuki bodies.
Well, after about 3-5 e-mails to Celga, I've pretty much given up all hope of ever getting an answer. Not sure if Aoi-Tuki is not answering Celga's e-mails to them, or if Celga has simply written my question off and isn't bothering to answer me, but I think I'm just going to officially give up on this inquiry. My initial e-mail to Celga, they told me their person who normally handles the requests was away, and to try again the next week. My second e-mail to Celga, I got a response from one of them saying she didn't understand my question, so I wrote it all out again. My third e-mail to Celga, someone else said they would try to get an answer but then asked me if I had tried to e-mail Aoi-Tuki directly and if I had their e-mail address. I found that a little odd since if Celga is the preferred middleman for Aoi-Tuki, I'd expect they'd have the e-address, and I had already explained about three times that I was asking through Celga because the site was not in English so I could not get any sort of response from it. I don't think I'll be using Celga for any further buying and selling as communicating with them has been a little bit odd to say the least. Not sure whether I'll try my question through any of the other services - Crescent Shop and SMJ have always done well at handling my questions, but I understand Crescent already said to someone else there's no way to buy from Aoi-Tuki directly. It may be that Aoi-Tuki would answer a question put through them though? I'll think about it.
Oh, shoot. I'm really sorry to hear this, because Celga was so efficient and helpful when I ordered my Aoi-Tuki a couple of years ago. Good luck getting your question answered one way or another--I'll keep my fingers crossed!
an update from my end.... i did manage to get my AOI Tuki form YJ through Crescent Shop.... the procedure was fairly easy, and they shipped promptly.... the body, however, does have the new enormous breasts... i happen to like it, but it's very exaggerated.
I think you should try Rinkya. It wouldn't hurt to ask. I just requested them to ask the artist if she/he (not sure which) would sell me just a body. I sent them a link with a photo of the one I wanted.
If anyone has any luck this route, I hope they'll say as much here. I've been hoping for an Otohime for a while.
