Anyone planning to go to DollismPlus Tokyo (Oct. 22, 2016)?

Jul 23, 2016

    1. I am curious if anyone had planned or is planning to attend dollismplus in Tokyo this year?
It will probably be the first doll con I attend in Japan after I move there so I am pretty excited XD

    2. Hi there - I might go. I'm planning to be in Japan and Korea around that time and just learned about the show. I think it would be awesome to attend a show like this while on vacation.

    3. @mdonline03 it certainly will be awesome! Imagine even bringing a new doll back home XD

    4. Lol...well that's sort of my plan. I just don't know if I can resist to wait. A few dollmakers are releasing some items that I would to pick up in person. We'll see about that long shot. But definitely my other plan is to hopefully meet up with others in Japan who are going or just to meet dolly people in general.

    5. Bumping for interest...

It would be great if any fellow DoA'ers are traveling to Japan for Dollism or live there and would like to meet up. :)

    6. I will travel to Japan in October and I'm planning to attend DPlus if I am in Tokyo on that date :)
It is a pity that is just only one day and only a few hours
I would love to attend an event like that!

    7. I know what you mean about the event only being a few hours. I have no idea what to expect. I'm trying to mentally prepare and be strategic about it. Lol.

    8. I will be there! ^^ I'm staying in Tokyo for my studies. It will be my first dolly Con as well.

    9. Cool:) I've already purchased my ticket....but if it works out that we can meet up briefly that would be super. :thumbup

    10. I didn't know we had to purchase tickets beforehand, but it turns out we do so thanks for the heads up. Getting mine from Dolk right now ;)

Also @mo29368 you mentionned you were moving to Japan; did you know on September 19th there is also the Tokyo Doll Show? I've never been to that one either but I'm planning to. Tickets are purchased at the door though (and limited.)

    11. Wow...I just read the rules for the Tokyo Doll show....they are not messing about. Will be curious to hear how it is.

    12. Seems like my notification didn't work for this thread but I am happy to know that so many of us are going!
@Dayme thanks for the information! but sadly I won't be at Japan until the end of September so hope you have a good time there:)

    13. Hey all! I just got my ticket for Dollism Plus. I'm somewhat confused since I only received a bill, a small paper card (the size of a business card), and a Dollism Plus pamphlet. Is everyone else getting only these three items?

Edit: Oh nevermind! The small card is the ticket afterall~

    14. Well that's good to know anyway. I'm picking up my at the office. Have you been to the Sunshine City complex before? I think it's like an underground mall and conference space?

    15. @mdonline03 I have never been there! But I might go scout the area and try to report how easy it is to find. I think Sunshine City is the big attraction in Ikebukuro, so hopefully it's not too far away from the station.

By the way; if you are coming to Dollism Plus Tokyo in Ikebukuro, there is also a doll goods store named Dollyteria by Closet Child near Otome Road. They sell secondhand BJDs, Pullip, fashion dolls, etc., and a ton of doll props such as carriers, wigs, eyes, clothes, etc. It's worth a visit!

    16. @Dayme Oh thanks for the shopping tips and doing a little recon if you get a chance! I am hoping to be able to do this too the day before. :thumbup I'm just hoping I can figure out what to do and follow the instructions of the line protocol. Ugh, all I have is basic tourist Japanese and even that is shaky. Here's to new adventures!

    17. I ordered my tickets online nearly a month ago, but they still haven't shipped... I'm getting worried.

    18. Did you pay the extra $15.00 for the shipping fee? When I ordered mine they didn't say that it would cost extra, so had I not asked what was happening I wouldn't have known. You can try and contact them and see if you can pick it up.

    19. No, I didn't know about that! I figured since my address is within Japan, maybe there just wouldn't be a fee. I definitely wouldn't have paid $15 for shipping anyway, if it had said anywhere that that were the case... (I live in Tokyo but my work hours make getting to the shop difficult. Should have just arranged for a friend to go for me from the start.)

    20. @Kittzel ah...I can see how that is worrying since you live in Japan. But yep, there wasn't anything related to shipping when buying the ticket. A couple people have had to also ask about their ticket status so you weren't alone. Hope it all works out though.

    21. There is always the option of picking up in stores if you live in Tokyo. The Dolk store is somewhere in Akihabara I believe. Maybe calling them about it is the simplest solution?

    22. Got it sorted out! Emailed and they responded very quickly.

    23. Super! Glad all is sorted it seems for everyone.:kitty1

    24. I picked up my ticket yesterday from the Akihabara store. Can't wait to see what the independent stalls are :)

    25. If anyone wants to say hi...I'll be wearing a purple hat. :thumbup

    26. Wow it's packed. Haven't been able to buy anything cos I can't get close enough to the stalls!

    27. No kidding! It was a zoo by the shopping stalls! Even if you wanted to look, you were squeezed out. It's a good thing that I was taller than most people so I could at least see if a stall was worth the fight.

In the end, I didn't buy much since most things weren't really catered to big 65cm boys. I did breeze by Freedom Teller to say hello and picked up a cool rabbit mask from Alba-Doll and a couple items that were on my long time list from Tree but otherwise; I was almost thankful that it was so packed that I couldn't get a long look at things and then impulse shop.

      How did everybody else do?

    28. Ahhhhh so the super busy stall selling boys stuff was Freedom Teller then?

I was tempted by the Ronronshuka heads but in the end I didn't buy anything. Did take lots of photos though :)

    29. Had to go look those up :XD: ...I did see those! Super cute too; but yeah - too many people to get close - so I'm thankful that their cuteness didn't wear me down.

And yep, I guess the crazy booth with the boys clothes was Freedom Teller. Off topic but I really encourage anyone who can go - to see the boutique and meet them. They were amazing.

Glad someone took photos. I took all of about 3 and 2 of those were of the line. Lol.

    30. I was able to pick up a couple pairs of Oscar Doll eyes that are exactly what I've been looking for. They nicely let me try out a pair of 6mms in my micro doll I had brought, and I was SO happy to find out that they fit because it's such a hassle having to order custom 4-5mm eyes...

    31. Ignore me - I'm date challenged.

    32. That's super that they let you try out the eyes especially since it was soooo packed and crazy.

    33. Congrats @Kittzel on getting your perfect pair of eyes! I wasn't able to get close enough to the Oscar Doll stand, sadly.

I also didn't leave with anything. I was very tempted to get some Enchanted Doll one off eyes, but the prices were simply off the charts. It was nonetheless an amazing experience for my first doll convention! ^^

    34. @Dayme @mdonline03 Yeah, I had to hover for a solid five minutes before I could actually reach the table. And lol those Enchanted Doll prices...

    35. my friend went there and she told me itis so great

    36. Ahh I wish this was going on while I was in Tokyo. I'll have to live on pics :(
