Shopping Anyone know where to find Japanese styled clothing

Jan 6, 2023

    1. Hey guys! Another annoying post from me (haha :( )

I was wondering, does anyone know any legit places to find Japanese styles kimonos or any Japanese aspired attire for msd?

Etsy I’ve found literally all but 4.
      Alicebjd doesn’t have any.
Luts doesn’t have any. I went on “Volks” and saw Kyo-no-Kimono Set which is PERFECT but sold out.
I’m just trying to find a pure white kimono and a black and red one. I’ve been trying to find people who also make clothing but to my luck no avail

    2. Probably you already did but have you checked the marketplace? I think I saw a black kimono recently (I can't remember the size, sorry).

      You could also commission someone?

    4. If you don't mind secondhand, there are lots of doll kimonos on Mandarake and Dollyteria. You'll get more results if you search for 着物 on both sites. You might even be able to find the Volks ones!

I've bought lots of doll clothes from both of these places and most of them are like new. They are also pretty good about noting any defects or wear and tear on the clothes they sell.

    5. I would Use YJA for Japanese style clothes. There’s a bunch of guides out there on what search terms to use in Japanese. You could even use those search terms into mercari Japan, fril jp

    6. I second with the Market Place :) There are some sellers retail outfits from Volks Japan and individual Japanese maker, knowing many individual Japanese doll clothes makers sell through Yahoo JAPAN, Rakuten, physical appearance at doll events etc. Maybe you can try to sign up on Yahoo or Rakuten, even though they turn anything exclusively for Japanese and you often need Japanese phone number or address of some sort. They always have some sort of platform to announce their appearace at events or blogs. If you can contact them through their platform, you may be able to find some way you can acquire their product directly from the maker. Although most Japanese are intimidated to deal with anything and anyone even only slightly foreign. I have bought clothing pattern from Japanese artist that way before.

    7. I have looked up on Etsy, too. But they look more like foreign maker tried to make something Japanese-ish. It's too far form acuracy in my opinion so I have never bought them.

    8. Yeah that’s EXACTLY what I mean. The ones on Etsy do not look bad but they do not look right
