I recently bought a Candy Dream doll for my 1st bjd (still waiting on them to come home;; ) and I was wondering if anyone found out if there was any other clothing that would fit them aside from obitsu11 outfits?
I adore them, but I don't have one because apparently they don't ship to my country and I'm not about to go through Dolk again. Maybe try some Nendoroid doll clothing? (It might be a bit too big though...)
@middletails OO!! that would be killing two birds with one stone for me if that's the case since I have some nendorid clothing i hope they fit but 1st I gotta wait to them to come home;;
I have one but I have yet to give him a faceup or clothes but I'm wondering if nendoroid doll clothes would fit. I know good smile has a book with patterns for nendoroid doll clothing so maybe with a few adjustments, you could make clothes for your doll (that's if you don't mind sewing).
I found this comparison of the Obistu11 and Nendoroid doll body. Looks like the Nendoroid doll body is smaller than Obitsu11, so Nendoroid doll clothes might be too small on Candy Dream dolls??
Well, that's good to know. I knew that the nendoroid doll was slightly smaller than a candy dream but didn't realize by that much.
@Prince Monochrome I have the Nendoroid Doll archetype: Boy (Cream) body and I bought some obitsu11 clothes for them and they fit perfectly on them but they just seem so small (´;ω;`) for the candy dream i guess i'll just have to wait and see once they come in and i'll let you know if they fit! and if worst comes to worst I guess its time to learn how to sew for me _(┐「ε: )_
Are there any other Candy Dream Dolls collectors here on DoA? I just ordered two and I can't wait to see them in person! I find their chibi-like proportions to be charming. They've been classified as off-topic due to their lack of body detail, but they are made resin, their bodies are jointed, and they have removable eyes. I assume they are strung? Choco Rang was the doll that lured me to look into them more. I love his little handsome yet salty expression! I read that they fit in obitsu11 size clothes?
Here's a previous thread about them on the Brigadoon. I think they fit Obitsu11 clothes, but probably not Nendoroid doll clothes. I have been thinking of getting one myself but I keep being distracted by other doll things I want to buy.... And for anyone not in Japan or the US (as the official Candy Dream site only ships to these two places...) Luts also sells Candy Dream dolls. (Dolks does as well.... but they have a rather problematic reputation, so avoid them if possible.)
Aw man, they're cute! I wish they sold heads separately, those bodies are too tiny for me but the heads are big enough they'd probably look good on a 1/6 body with some neck modding.
Well, so I ended up getting a second hand Candy Dream I-chu from Mandarake (I was buying some other stuff and saw that the shop I was buying from had an I-chu who is the Candy Dream I want) and she just arrived today. Her head is sooo big compared to her body! I'm surprised that I actually managed to get her to stand on her own! Here are some quick pics before I get back to work. The body is really basic but if you angle one of the legs a little, you can get it to balance that huge head. I am a bit disappointed that the head plate isn't really a metal plate like on most BJDs. It's just a sticker... I do have some Obitsu 11 dolls and a Nendoroid doll. I'll compare them later.
Ooooo these are adorable! I've been throwing around the idea of getting an Obitsu 11/Nendoroid doll and I'd love to see a comparison between the three as well ^_^
I received my Candy Dream choco resin Milk and Rang! They are so cute! Rang came with a company faceup, and Milk came blank. I wanted to share some pictures of their unboxing and features with you (spoiler posts below). The choco resin is lovely, similar to Fairyland tan. ball.jointed.bird_20220616_154451_4 by Jamie Bird, on Flickr Their heads are obviously chibi in proportion to their body size, so use of a stand is recommended, unless you prefer for them to sit all the time. A stand was not included, but I intend to use an acrylic Obitsu stand for mine. Measurements: Eye size: 20mm Height:15.5cm Bust: 6cm Waist: 6cm Hip: 6.7cm Foot:1.5cm Wig: 8in If you end up buying these dolls my recommendation would be to buy them directly from the manufacturer's website so that you can buy wigs and clothes that fit them well. They have very small hips/butts! Spoiler: Unboxing Pictures Rang: Milk: Spoiler: Build, posing and size comparison
