Aesthetics Another faceup attemp

    1. Around february or so I did my Resinsoul Song's faceup, painting over the original bobobie faceup like I did for my Alice. this was the result: [​IMG]
      But I really disliked it, so some weeks ago I tried "redoing" it (mostly the lips):

      and although I like this one better, it still seems far messier and just... overall worse than the one I did on Alice. Any advice?

    2. I think you've got some good things going here. ^-^ First off I love the eyebrows. They look awesome! The lips are definitely much darker and more dramatic in color. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing if that's what you were going after.

      I'd take it a little easy on the white on the lower eyelashes, though. That's probably why it looks a bit messy. The white seems slightly chunky and out of place.

      As a disclaimer, I'm not a faceup artist--just an artist. :sweat But that's just my two cents.

    3. Thank you! Well, it's not exactly that I was going after that, but that I was trying to make his lips match his twin sister's so they looked more similar : [​IMG]
      Yeah, I do agree that the white was chunky and messy, my fault for not sharpening the pencil orz. Thank you for your advice though.:)

    4. First off... I have yet to get the courage to attempt my first face-up!!!
      So, what you have here is great. I especially like the blushing around the eye and cheek areas. The brows are very nice and really work for me. I will echo the white on the lower lashes being a little chunky, but as you stated " the pencil needed to be sharper" . I really appreciate you sharing your work, as it is through this type of thread that I can learn. I like the type of pastels you have, what make are they?

    5. Thank you! Unfortunately, I don't think they sell these pastels anymore, they belonged to my grandpa who never used them, the label on the box says "Aristos" but I found nothing looking it up on internet, sorry :sweat

    6. I liked the first lips more, you also made a great eyebrows but I don't like this bottom eyelashes :/ thay could look so great without this white points, that didn't turn out well, they are too thick and in my opinion no need to make so many of tham.
