Alright, who's playing it? ;p What do you think so far? I think it's been pretty fun, I love the addition of levelling and junk, that motivates me to do more. I also like that you don't have to worry if your villagers are going to leave so you don't feel pressured to log in every day. That's the main issue I have with the main games. Once I haven't played for a while I worry all my favorite villagers will have left and then I just don't want to play, lol. I do miss being able to customize a whole town. And the hair options for dudes are really lacking, I want them to let male and female characters have access to all of the hairstyles regardless of gender. I'm excited to see what they do with it in future, I really hope they add a lot more to it (more villagers, more furniture sets, more areas, etc etc). So if you're playing, please share your thoughts... and your friendcodes! :'D
It's the newest Animal Crossing game installment. It's called "Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp". It's super popular because it's 1. for mobile devices and 2. free (with microtransactions, of course).
I just got it yesterday! So far I'm liking it as well. It reminds me of HHD gameplay-wise, but I like the app better because it's not as restricting as HHD was. It's funny how it seems there's more to do in a free app than the HHD 3DS game.
It's been great so far, though I've just started. It feels strange to not be scrambling to sell tons of fish and bugs to Nook or Reese, haha!
Oh my goodness, someone untouched by the animal crossing bug? ;p We need to fix that! I recommend giving it a try, it's really fun. In general, the animal crossing games are really relaxing and great for casual gamers. I thought about picking up HHD because again, no worries about animals moving out, and the cards seemed like a pretty cool idea to me. I'm glad I didn't though, if you say there's more to do in ACPC, lol.
I think it's adorable! I don't know about you, but I always found the characters in the original Animal Crossing game weirdly rude haha. But, this version seems really cute and happy so far. I'm still getting to grips with it at the moment though.
Yeah, HHD was literally just designing homes for other residents. You didn't even get your own home to decorate, and you had to decorate the other homes to be a specific style to please the character. No real freedom outside of doing their style, otherwise they're not happy in the end. The cards, however, are a fun collectable!
Oh wow yeah they used to be SO much ruder than they are now! I do kind of miss that though. As a kid, I remember being really put off by some of their abrasive personalities, but then feeling strangly attached when they sent nice letters.
I love the letters they send! I'm glad they're not so rude now though. If I am living a second life in a cute village filled with anthropomorphic animals I want people to be friendly haha. I do love making constellations in the firts game though. That's probably the best part.
I was one of the grumpy grumps who kept crying "where's mobile animal crossing!" and honestly, it was so worth the wait! ♡ It's so cute, I love having the achievements/leveling up aspect as incentive, but like you said still have the freedom to not play for a while and not stress about your villagers! I'm so happy with this game, I can't wait to see what else is to come! ♡
I play it quite a lot, and it's certainly a cute and Lite version of AC. I do LOVE not stressing about villagers at all. But as a UI/UX designer, I really... really wonder how some design choices got through the QA. I hope they'll streamline the friendlist (adding people, quarry help, marketboxes etc) at least.
I think you get access to all hairstyles in New Leaf, regardless of gender, once you get Shampoodle. I miss the interactions with the animals, as it is a bit lacking in Pocket Camp. But this game will tie me over till the Switch release (.........when?! when?! when?!).
