Animal Crossing: NH getting some upgrades early 2026

    1. I saw the other day that they’re updating NH, smoother graphics, adding in a hotel for us to help decorate, expanding inventory space (thank goodness), making it easier to move multiple furnishings about as well as the clearing of areas outside. Also looks like there will be some island that players and their friends can all group together to sort out.

      If you already have NH for the Switch then the update pack is incredibly cheap.

      I love NH, been playing it off and on since its release and have recently begun rearranging my island…..again!

      Anyone else still play and what villagers have you got?

      I’ve got Marshall, Ketchup, Hamlet, Apollo, Muffy, Bella, Maple, Greta and Coco

    2. Not having a Switch 2, I'm more interested in the new stuff that's being put in for both versions of the game. Looking forward to having a Lego-themed house!

    3. I am so unbelievably excited! I flattened my "forever" release day island this past spring with the intention of doing a full overhaul, but now I'm going to hold off on rebuilding until the update.

      My villagers are Raymond, Marshal, Wolfgang, Sherb, Dom, Whitney, Audie, Fuchsia, Coco, and Marina. Marshal and Marina were my favorites back in my New Leaf days, so of course they have to stay forever (I actually stopped playing ACNL because Marshal moved out by surprise on me!).

      I also have a second island on our main Switch that I restart every so often to rebuild for fun, so it has a rotating cast of villagers and appearances.

      Ooh now that’s a good idea, as I transferred my Island from my original Switch (handheld) to the Switch2 so technically I could do a restart on the older one? That would give me something to experiment on….:evilplot:

      I do love Marshal or as I call him ‘mini Malfoy’. He’s so funny and quite obnoxious at times, definitely a keeper as you say!
      I’ve had Whitney and Fuschia before, never had Marina but she’s on my hubby’s island.
      It’s an odd choice but I want to get Barold. He’s just so….well…Barold. Gaston is another I’d like, had him in Pocket Camp.
      I like villagers that make me laugh even if it’s because they’re just so incredibly bitchy or unbelievably stupid, boring doesn’t stay long with me.

    5. I've been playing new horizon recently (since quitting my job, because now I have time for anything), and I truly will never like it as much as new leaf. We got this game because I wanted my bf to try it, since they had never played animal crossing before. Anyway... I'm looking forward to updates though I am not really sure what version we have :sweat (regular switch? I thought some of our games say 2 on them... I don't know, I'm old and confused).
      I only just got all ten houses full last week and current villagers are: Tex, Queenie, Bertha, Hazel, Drift, Apollo, Anabelle, Beau, Deena, and Shino.
      Shino, Drift and Beau have been here since the beginning I think.

      There is a robust animal variety right now even if not an ideal personality diversity. Drift is a fan favorite around here, and my personal favorite in this running game is Beau. The lazy food personality is my favorite by far. When the character comes across as more handsome and less baby because of how they look it's just so sweet. (This is just the best way I can describe it) But there are a couple other personalities I love, and a couple that I find pretty grating. Isn't that life? :XD:
      Tex really creeps me out. I honestly avoid him.
      Bertha is new and I'm glad she's here. That's one of my favorite personalities.

    6. Aye @AlisonVonderland, it’ll be the regular version. Don’t worry, I’m old and very confused at the of best times!

      I never played New Leaf, wish I had as so many people seemed to love it. Bad timing on that one in my case as I quit my job working in Game summer 2012 when the company went into administration and I never knew day to day whether I still had a job plus the public really showed their nasty, greedy, selfish side more so than usual. It was either find a new job, have a nervous breakdown or end up being fired for going postal on some horrible customer. Sounds rather dramatic but I’ve always had dreadful anxiety as well clinical depression and didn’t actually know until years later that I have AuDHD.
      Needless to say for the next few years keeping an eye on what games were released wasn’t a priority anymore and New Leaf passed me by.

      Just Googled Tex, he has is rather creepy looking….that’s a definite for the ‘Nope!’ list like that grinning cat one…gives me the wiggins.
      Aww I loved Bertha, she’s so nice, had her for years and only let her go last week. That’s how I ended up with Coco.

    7. Yes! I saw the announcement and was very excited too! I saw in the middle of it, without really mentioning it at all, they showed a update to the crafting interface to let us make more than one copy of a thing at once, which I am really looking forward to... it'll make my fishing bait making much quicker.

      I have some of my favorites on my island right now, Muffy, Coco, Flora, Gloria, and Cyd! I also got Antonio and Raddle who have really grown on me. I just love the villagers with floofy tails like ostriches and anteaters. This is my first time with a frog villager, oddly enough. It's so funny how Raddle doesn't use an umbrella when it's raining!

      I wish I could have more villagers, there's always so many more I wish I could have. Someday I want to try to get Hans, because a smug yeti sounds hilarious. Or Roswell and build him a whole alien-themed area to hang out in. For now, I content myself with designing a lot of vacation homes! But the new ability to have the dreamworlds might be awesome for doing different themes, like a spooky island with all the more "spooky" villagers like Lucky, Shino, and Pietro, maybe one with all the robot villagers. I have so many ideas!
