kawaii_mon, wow, she's really gorgeous ^__^ Can't wait to get my tan skin Raven Just received a notice from my post office that the head has arrived, will go to pick it up tomorrow. Not sure what I'm going to do with him though xD But I'm pretty sure he'll be a boy... I'll try him on girl's body anyway maybe.

Hi all! I'm really interested in the Elf Raven and I was curious what bodies were being used the most? I definitely need a boy body and I'm looking at the Popodoll 63CM, browsing and doing some searching. Resin matching is such a pain, but man I love that head.

 

Thanks Elisa! According to my research the color match with the Dollshe Oriental should be nearly spot on too.

I am so very very excited as I've ordered my head and I'm just waiting on a shipping notice.

He's going to be such a special doll for me! I've been gleefully crazy since I placed my order.

Head is here! Even after the mail carrier incident. Apparently, they just decided not to deliver on Saturday and because of my scheduling the redelivery he didn't show up till today. Phooey.

The packaging was gorgeous, green being one of my favorite colors! I was so surprised at how pale he was for the Oriental Skin! I love him. The head is sitting on a beanbag with some Safrin Royal eyes and one of the custom two color Leeke wigs. He thinks he's hot stuff.

Question about wigs, I have an 8/9 Leeke on him and it's huge! 7/8 is slightly too small but the 8/9 is just giant. I am thinking about getting him a silicone wigcap. Is anyone else had wig problems? I am wondering if Leeke just runs big....

He's just a dream though. Absolutely. I can't wait to purchase him a body here in a few months!

 

Yeah they're just one of those inbetween head sizes. A wig cap or some velcro would work fine in holding the wig in place I think.

I was thinking a wig cap would work, I've got a mini with an oddly shaped head and I need to get him one as well.

I'm back! I finally ordered my body. x.x So for a bit of a prequel... He's one of the professionally cast AngelToast boys by Dollshe and he's in their Oriental Skin, I recently purchased a NS Popodoll body for him because through my searchings I had thought it was going to be a good match.

Boy was I wrong!

The Oriental skin is a pale delicate yellow and my Popodoll body is PINK (Reminds me a lot of RS NS actually). I am almost thinking I should have gone with a WS body but I was so sure it was NS. There is a chance that Popdoll resin has changed or maybe my Elf Raven head is slightly paler than it should be.

No match at all but I'm hoping that a heck of a lot of blush will fix it... Or I'm going to invest in an air brush.

On terms of the head fitting the body and having a good range of mobility? Yes, yes and triple yes. It's a little small but it makes it look rather proportionate. He reminds me of 'the older male' character from manga. He can tilt his head up and down and look side to side without too much fuss.

 

TQV> I think you'll be able to match the body and head up a lot better once you get a faceup and some blush on it ^_^ The body looks fabulous with the head! (I'm a sucker for abs, lol)

I have to get some sealant though, I've got enough for probably one spray but I'm going to save it for my MSD I'm in the middle of dealing with.

My poor elf Raven is just sitting here naked, I'm calling him 'Sekrit' as a place holder since I don't want to debut his character until he's done. The boy needs clothes. He's holding a sign that says 'Will cute for clothes'.

 

All my boys are hobos right now, lol. I'm working on making some clothes for them so they don't have a mutiny and steal all the girl's clothes XD

I can't wait to see Sekrit in his final incarnation!! I know he's going to be beauteous

I can't wait to get Sekrit all fixed up and ready to go. I just have to break down and get some MSC but the shipping on that stuff is so horrible! It's pretty crazy really in my opinion, I know it's worse in other countries but esh. :/

We're making a workbench so my sewing machine won't bounce and then I'll be able to sew my boy some pants at least.

 

I love, love, love my gray Elf Raven He was my first one, back in 2010, and I was so happy she made him in this color for me I got my second one earlier this year, with the hope to make them into a pair of bounty hunters. The joke is that they're "not related" hahahaha XD It's probably only funny to me, lol.

Yeah, I just did an MSC GO and the shipping was 12$. But I'm not sure how much it would be -- try plajapan.com (check out hobby supplies) and see how much it would be? I use ZM spray otherwise from Volks. Or look for a GO? I think there's one going on right now.

Oh man, I was making some pants today and lol, I didn't pin it properly so they have a huge crotch XD

Gotta fix the body issue and then, pics, pics, pics!! Both have their wigs, final eyes, faceups, etc, so it's the only thing I need to do...preferably before I get clobbered by angry heads XD

just ordered an Elf Raven head in pale skin, total binge purchase. I'm currently planning on ordering her an Ingenue body by Twigling (procast also by DollShe, so resin matching shouldn't be an issue) I just saw the fierceness of the face and fell in love

Elf Raven makes a super fierce lady, that's for sure! That's awesome about the Ingenue body (which is SUCH a gorgeous body, oh my!)!

(How many exclamation points can I put in a post? A lot!)

 

I've got an Ingenue already, Tallulah, and her body might have ruined me for others. She poses so naturally and stands like a rock. It's kind of amazing.

How's your boy coming along? I can't wait to see how he comes out, gotta love androgynous sculpts!

 

JunkySpot is getting some MSC in soon, thank goodness. Once that comes in I'll order me some so I can spray him down and get to working on his face. I'm lucky in that it's allll worked out for me already. I might order him a fur wig soon though, me and these long too big leekeworld wigs aren't agreeing at allllll.

If Twigling ever came out with a boy body... man, I'd be doomed. And Sekrit might get a new body.

 

I'm pretty sure she's mentioned maybe sculpting a boy in the future, which might be bad for my bank account... But it would take a lot to top my current favorite boy body, LSD's 73.5 guys are incredible! The muscle detail is unbelievable!

 

I think she has too but I am probably safe for a good while at least!

I think Loongsoul might match with the Dollshe oriental, I wonder if their white matches with the Dollshe pale skin?

I really considered a Loongsoul body for Sekrit but the only thing that stopped me was the 60CM boy's pecs, I find them just a little bit awkwardly shaped for some reason.

Put me in with the no body camp. Got my Elf Raven head not long ago. He's white skin but I am not sure what body to use for him. What is everybody else using?

 

Probably not terribly helpful, but my Elf Raven is going to be a girl. I've got a Twigling Ingenue body on order and my head's off at the artist's getting faceupped, so maybe all together pictures in the next couple weeks?

 

I finally got my MSC in and had time to do his face-up! So here's a sneak preview. He's still really really naked.

 

And has a really really awesome face up! (from what can be seen)

 

I like the older and now much less expensive Delf body...

Okay so.
I REALLY want one of these heads in NS but I have no idea what companies match beside Dollshe. So, for everyone who has the ns Elf Raven, how does the resin compare to your other brands in NS? I'm praying it'll be close to FairyLand so I can nab a Feeple body, but I'd like to know for sure.

 

It is -not- a match for PopoDoll Normal, that's certain!
The Oriental Skin Normal Skin is really pale and very yellowy, there's no hint of peach or pink in there at all.

 

Good to know, but apparently not helpful to me after all. The head I'm getting is from Angel's original artist cast set of heads. Does anyone know any resin match for those. :'D

 

LeexMarie: I'm not 100% the resin colors are the same for Raven and Hawk, but I have an artist cast Hawk, and he was sold in two slightly different NS - NS pink and NS peach. AngelToast recommended different company matches for each. I don't remember exactly what they were, but I got an NS pink Hawk. He's been on an Angel of Dream NS-Pink body for a while (though I have a different body on layaway for him now) and the match is pretty close. Not a 100% match, but close enough for me.

My Hawk was a little pinker than the body, but the body was also second-hand and could have been a little mellowed. The body I have on layaway for him is from Doll Chateau, also NS-pink, as AoD and DZ/DC should be about the same color. When it comes in, I'll definitely post pics in the Hawk thread.

Edit to add: And if you like, feel free to look at my doll list on my profile, and if you want a pic of my Hawk's headcap next to any resin in particular let me know. I don't mind snapping a few comparisons this weekend.

The old Leeke World boy bodies are a close match with the original artist cast Pink Normal skin. I can post pictures with my Hawk. Just have to slap him back on the body.

Did my best to represent the colors accurately, but I will add that in-person, the best matches are Luts and DZ pink (though my bunny is a bit yellowed, brand new DZ is probably pinker). Fairyland is pinker, and both Iplehouse and Soom are too pale.

Hello everyone! Hopefully theres still a few of you here. I just got a raven head in white skin with a wig lot and need a muscley body that is around $350 and will match his skin. Preferably doubke jointed, but thats not a deal breaker. Anyone have sugestions?
