so I've just ordered kimi along with snows head! I've been wanting a YOSD for a while and kimi was always on my mind.

how are AS tinies for clothes? Will they fit most YOSD clothes? Any shops I should avoid or you'd reccommend?

 

Hi there and welcome to the thread! Congrats on your order, Kimi is the cutest little thing. I've never had trouble with YoSD sized clothes fitting on these little ones. As far as I know, their measurements are pretty standard

I also noticed they don't say what wig size/eye size they take on the website unless I've missed it. :s

I'm not sure where they state it, but I have my Bella in a 6-7" wig and 14mm eyes. I've tried several companies and that's always what I end up with

so AS just emailed me offering to do snows head in grey! I can now make them lil twins...once I sort snow out with a body. :p

 

Does anyone know what companies are a good match to AS grey skin? I'm gonna want a body for my snow's head but I can't find many comparisons for grey. :s

 

What's wrong with the AS bodies?

 

Yeah, Kimi and Snow are the same, so you're getting a full Kimi as well as an extra Kimi head?

 

Kimi and snow are the same? Ha I knew they were similar but didn't think they were exact same sculpt. :P

There's nothing wrong with as bodies, I just didn't think I could order a grey body by itself?

 

I think you can if you email Lemon. But in that case I'd just order 2 full Kimis. I have a Kimi, a Kimo, and until recently I had a Snow and yeah, they're the same.

 

I've already placed the order and I couldn't afford two full dolls at the time so I got the blank head and plan on buying the body later. :P

I feel a bit silly getting the same head twice. xD

 

So I've been in communications with AS and they will do a body in grey, I just need to make a note.

they also said kimi and snow are not the same head sculpt but I dunno if they got confused about my question, if they are different it must be very very small.

AS have been very good with communications and answer all my questions very quickly! Definitely a company I'd consider using again.

 

Hello again all! After 3 months, I finally have my Bake!



I made a Box Opening thread for him but I just really wanted to share him all with you. I'm so glad he's finally home. ;w;

 

Congratulations, AlekInexelsis! I saw your cutie on Flickr and I'm in love with his little face and his eyes especially. Please share more pictures when he gets a faceup (or when he is still blank ), he is so cute.

 

Haha, many thanks for the invite to the Flickr group as well! I had to swap the red eyes out for now because my mom said it was freaking her out. xD

Hopefully I'll have his faceup done by the weekend. In the meanwhile, I am taking this little guy everywhere with me.

If there was one thing I could change, it would be that I wish he were darker. Their tan is barely brown at all. xD

i received the body I ordered for my kimo's head and it's such a good lil poser! Only issue I have is getting the arms to stick out? (imagine it doing a aeroplane pose!) the shoulder arm joints don't seem to hold their place well at all. Is this normal or is there something I could do about it?

Well, do you have a picture of the issue? I could compare it to my little lady

 

Erm I don't know how I'd photograph the issue. The joints at the elbow stay in place very well but if I were to want the lil body to pretend it's an aeroplane (you know how kids do?) then the arms just won't stay in that position. :s

 

Here is the poses it can hold well

 

I grabbed my girl and tested it. I'd never noticed it before, but yes, mine has that too. She came with silicon kips installed and I had to fiddle a bit to get one out of her shoulder joint, lol. With it in she can sort of hold the airplane pose, but it still depends on how you twist the arms.

 

ah ok, I don't see any kips in my joints. I'm not too bothered by the arm thing as the rest of the body poses so well! I imagine I'll get better poses when she has her head, right now she's looking a lil odd without one. XD

Ah I haven't even restrung a doll before so I'm quite happy to leave it as it is...at least for now. :P
I can't believe how sturdy they are! I love that the thigh joint can hold in different places so you can really curl them up into a ball! Can't wait for my twins now! ^_^

Oh and I once again love AS! Since this was just a body, I wasn't expecting it to come in a box or pouch but I got both! I adore the silky carrying pouch, it will be very useful for storing them! I think AS has my favourite packaging so far. ^_^

 

Oh yes, definitely mine too. I've had dolls from quite a few companies now, but there is just something very special about receiving a doll from AS

Heh, I'm thinking over getting Leon as I'm a Leo myself. I technically missed his ordering period since I was on a dolly break at the time, but I see they have a few in stock at Fabric Friends & Dolls, so I've been toying with the idea. Not until my current layaway is paid, though!

I just remembered these dolls and had a look at which Zodiac signs has been done. They made Libra :

Must say that they made some 'interesting' choices with Libra. He looks nothing like I'd imagine that Zodiac sign to look. Also, that song played in the Libra video seriously reminds me of the Dutch Sinterklaas song 'He komt, de lieve goede Sint'.

So that means that the next doll will be Scorpio, my Zodiac sign!! Since it seems to be girl-boy-girl-boy, that means she'll be a girl. I'm REALLY curious to see what they'll do with Scorpio.

 

I don't understand the concepts for these zodiac dolls at all, don't seem to relate in anyway. XD

I'm keeping my eye out for when they do Aquarius though! Just hope it's a girl. :p

 

The Libra doll reminds me of old west type movies, maybe a sheriff. Maybe it has something to do with the scales of justice? Other than that, I dunno.

She is so AWESOME!!! I'm totally in love with her look. I'm a Scorpio myself and usually don't tend to like how Scorpio's are pictured. But this one is totally amazing. I absolutely love the outfit, wig and little Scorpio figurine.

 

I just saw her yesterday! She is adorable!

 

Couldn't agree more! Also a Scorpio here, although I don't care much for star signs. But she also reminds me very much of one of my favourite dolls (the girl in my avatar), so I must say I'm severely tempted. I just wish I could get her with just eyes and face-up!

it arrive with an official cardbox? Certificate?

but whats and how do you recognize if a resin in France resion pr not?

Angell-Studio has been around for quite a while. It is a good company and they make beautiful dolls. French resin is usually used to describe resin which is slightly transparent. Angell-Studio has a number of resins to choose from. The dolls do come in special boxes with certificates.

 

Thank you so much! So if I don't choose transparent particolar resin, isnt french resin right? Im concerned about this because I know french resin have a more tendency to yellowing! But I agree... their dolls are very beautiful!

 

True, their solid colours yellow the same as any other company, but the translucent ones yellow quicker. I have both from them

 

After all, resin is resin!
But I fall in love of Momo and ? I dont remember the exact name, and another called Milky or something.

I love your doll she's beautiful. Is "AS" the sculpt name? Also I have to ask which of the bodies is that? I want a slightly more mature mini and was interested in the differences between the regular/double jointed body and the starry. Anyone have any info and/or pics? Would be great.
Also I heard that new French resin isn't as bad as old French resin. Does it still yellow as badly and quickly?

 

Hi pinkittycat! I use AS as in Angell-Studio. She's a Bella sculpt, on the 26cm translucent pink body. I love her. I do want the 31cm Starry Body still...I'm not sure but I think the only difference is the length of the legs...?

 

The bodies are different. The 31cm bodies have a one piece torso. I will try to take a comparison in a couple days. I don't have a baby girl yet, but I may get Stella and put her one the 31cm body.
