Angelheim Mini 1/4 doll Discussion: part 1

I wasn't aware they were a subsidiary! That makes so much sense. A way for the Soom folks to create/sell fantasy dolls without them being limiteds. Very, very slick. And I'm defiantely not complaining! lol

And yes...MSD hooved boy...do want. Can't get right now lol...but I definately want the little bugger.

I don't think Angelheim has anything to do with Soom. And frnkly I waiting until next year to see if Soom does at long last sell some fantasy MSDs.

But as to these guys- they are nice. I would like better porportions on the goat legs though, they should be a little longer. And they look lumpy in a weird way. But They are still sorely tempting! I've been waiting for the Junior Angelheim hoping htey'd do soething exactly like this. But now that they have, I dunno, I'll be interested to see some owner pics.

I really love the fairy parts. How do you think, will they fit resinsoul or AngellStudio? Which companies have similar bodies? Sadly I do not like the body AngelHeim produce.

 

It's wonderful to finally see hooved minis! I've been wondering which company would heed the call first. He's a little cutie! I like the look of the hooves.

However, gotta say I'm pretty put out that they're hawking their ripoff of DoA's special edition right here on DoA...tacky.

 

I'm getting sick of people saying they copied this or they copied that. The 'Knight' outfit is not a ripoff of the LE DOA outfit. If you look at their other outfits, Zion's or Ventario's you'll see they already tend to do half shirts, and asymetric arm things.

Companies will watch what other companies are doing, not to 'copy' them, but to get an eye out for the market. There is obviouslly a demand for animal parts and thus they created/provided them. Going into an area that other companys have not capitalized on yet.

Wait, they have an animal head 'mask' thing, like Soom, but wait... Iplehouse has a very similuar panther head mask thing that is more like Io's then Angelheim's.

The only thing I see as a more direct copy of Soom would be the horns with the hooves. If they were doing a 'Pan' a Pan would tend to have short stubby fawn horns not ram horns. So they took inspiration and are playing on people's desires to have an MSD doll to match their SD sized dolls. If you don't like what they are doing, don't buy from them, but they are not copying. I mean copying is such a negative term in this hobby when copying tends to mean bootlegging, etc... which clearly they are not doing.

 

Mini hoofies! And I seem to be the lone layaway person that *didn't* have Soom cancel their Christmas Mecha Angel kit on them yet...I guess Sabik must be a lot less popular in the elf version or something.

I'm loving the mini-Abadon clothes. Regular Abadon was just too big and angular, and the armor too hard and resiny, but the color was perfect. How should they properly balance "It's been done before!" with "But people want *more* of it!", without simply supplying to meet demand as they seem to be doing?

As for Angelheim being part of Soom, perhaps it was confused with Angel Region?

But you can't copyright clothing designs so it's a moot point.

I took vampireanneke's statement to be along the lines of 'they're not selling bootleg copies, but are a legitimate company. You can discuss similarities, but words like stolen are taking it into a different context. I agree. If Soom does a Gorgon in the next few months, I suppose they will have 'stolen' it from Angelheim? Right. As to the clothes, everyone's entitled to an opinion, but that's all it will be. No one here on the forum can say they hadn't planned that outfit since, say, last summer, and were floored when Luts' LE came out.

But as you said, on-topic, I actually own a Zion, and the magnets come in the skullcap of the doll, which is quite functional as far as I'm concerned. The snakes do hold up quite well, even to an accidental slip or two , and are lovely. I'd expect that level of quality from everything I get from Angelheim, and I assure you I'll be buying from them in the future, as my first experience was thoroughly good, and I like to speak frm experience.

I am really interested in acquiring a Ciel as my first doll, but I was wondering if the body measurements are going to make it difficult to find 3rd party outfits? (Particularly if I want to have him do any cross-dressing. XD)

I rly want the hooves parts on my DOC too xD
But they told me i'd have to do major modding to get them to fit D8
which doesnt quite bother me , even though i haven't done it before XD
I do alot of work with stuff similiar so i'm sure i can get them to work..but it worries me about the length difference and so on so fourth XD
I'll prob get them this week anyways , just because it reflects my character so well xD
But knowing that you'd have to mod them onto DOCs might be some valid info for some people XD

Actually that is valuable informaion for me as I'm waiting on the legs now for my DoC Ivan Same here in that they would suit his character so perfectly ad I've already modified this doll to hell in back I certainly don't mind a little more x3

I am curious though in what ways they'd need to be modded however-length difference? Would the hooves look 'short'? Just not fit in the socket correctly. Not exactly sure what you mean by that but hopefully it won't be too bad

Well i could imagine that the doll's leg will be shorter, and the top leg part might actually be longer than the lower leg xD
because of the length difference in between DOCS and angleheims xD
I'm not sure how different it'd look or off xD
I'm sure it won't be bad either ways, they only have around a 6 cm difference
They told me i'd have to do some serious sanding to get the legs to fit xD
They didn't tell my on which, and told me i'd better be ready for it
I doubt it's anything too crazy, but they seemed REALLY concerned about it... which worried me a bit xD
If the DOC legs aren't too small for the actual hoof part , i'd prob just make the extra socket in the back of the legs that the hooves need to make my doll taller xD
I plan on buying them either way XD

I'm not familiar with angelheim's normal resin, so i was thinking of getting the lighter resin and blushing it

 

That's odd, I just measured my DoC's leg and it's only 22cm long, not 26cm as the DoD website states. I wonder if this is because he has the old boy body rather than the new one which might be taller. Either way that certainly makes me feel better since now the difference might not be as off xD

And I ordered my hooves in normal resin, but it didn't really concern me too much about the resin matching since my boy has been airbrushed gray and I'll be dyeing the hooves to match But I think in your case going with the lighter and blushing it to match is a good idea Hopefully you get to order your soon!

 

Well, I kind of have to jump in here and give some of you more information. We have compared our JH boy and Old DOC at our friends place.. And realized that our way to measure the legs is kind of wrong ??? may be??? LOL

Because....

JH legs are 1.5 cm longer than old DOC legs...

Which means if we measure them from the Joints it is 23cm that is longer than Old DOC though...

Anyway, I thought this might help some of you.

So, our release date for GIRL JH will be about the late MARCH and she will share all of our JH Fantasy Parts. ^^ (We are planning to release Female EH first but that plan is flexable)

Yep, girls have always been in the works, though my understanding was the junior boy line would probably be first. I'm eagerly awaiting news on the girl line as well, as I find my Zion to be the apple of my dolly eye, I'm hopeful the female sculpt they come up with will also be delightful!

Is the poseability of the Junior body good as well, btw? I'm expecting it is, but am still curious...I don't buy this size normally but little knights continue to tempt me.

I got my little Pan Luka yesterday and he is officially "Squeeeeee!" Adorable, very nice quality, poses very well, etc. No seam lines, no bubbles. Everything looks great. Sadly, I am leaving on a trip for a week so i won't be able to get him face-upped and dressed and picture-spammed for at least a week (for some reason my new dolls always arrive just as I'm going out of town, my husband is getting back into town, or I have masses of company arriving for the weekend).
When I get back I will picspam like crazy, though!
He's great- you'll be happy with him!

How does his size/proportions compare to the other 1/4 scale dolls you own - if you don't mind my asking? I'm wondering how they look next to MNFs or DOCs. Hmm...

Zion is gorgeous. I rooting for some lovely ladies... my wallet is happy to see their dolls thus far are not limiteds.

YES! Fresh from the box, no suede no wire, and I (just now, he stands beside my keyboard) put him on one foot with one arm over his head, hips tilted to accommodate his saucy contrapposto. Oh yeah, did I mention he has on his satyr legs for this pose?

I need to do a body review on this guy.

He's a bit on the slender side, but well made. I actually have two MNF and a DOC (old girl body), so I can take some comparison photos for you. It'll be a couple of days (he's totally blank at the moment), but I'd be happy help.

 

I just got mine today - I'm very impressed overall with the body. He stood on carpet right out of the box and everything, both human feet and hooves. Mine is totally blank and naked at the moment, so I'm not sure pictures would be all that useful or interesting... though I guess I could take some anyway.

 

Oh also out of curiosity, could some one find out what clothes fit the body? ^^ I don't want to get my doll home and just have him sat there naked. xD It won't go down well with my mother. I've looked and the sizing seems pretty simillar to DZ 1/4 dolls and Luts KDelf, but I want to know for certain. :O

 

Hmm. Dunno how DZ clothes would work - their 1/4 boys are 45cm and the JHs are 43cm. glyndon mentioned Luka is bit on the slender side... if that's the case, they might be able to fit in Dolkot Junior clothes (my JDK boy is 43.5 cm - he can also wear Dollmore pants).

While I agree with all the body comments so far - I feel compelled to add (because my boss even noticed this right away and she's seen most of my dolls nekkid) that if you are expecting him to have the sort of manly parts you'd expect with a faun.....you'll be disappointed. I've got or have seen MSD sized from many companies and he's got the tiniest peenie I've ever seen. Think "grain of rice".

Poor guy - not that I love him any less, but he's definitely going to be easy to sew for.

Which reminds me - Note to self: Put the pants on the doll BEFORE you put the goat feet on....

Also, I found out that the eyeholes pretty much will not allow for sizes larger than 14mm to be used. Which bummed me out because I'd bought some beautiful eyes for him that are just a bit too big to fit That and his hairless nekkid state are why I haven't posted photos yet.

 

I'ma sneak in with my insanity. I just ordered hooves in white and aim to put them on my a-line MNF girl ¤_¤... I suspect sanding to be in order for a snuggly fit, but comparing the sizes, it doesn't seem like an enormous or insane project D: I also got a "on shipping" note today, so fingers crossed on fast shipping!

 

Ciel is awfully cute too. This was my first time ordering from Angelheim, but I certainly don't have any problems to report. The only thing I'd want to give a heads-up about is that I didn't get a shipping notice, so log in every so often after about a month to check your order status. Or just be pleasantly surprised when the box shows up.

 

Hmm, overall for company recommendations, I found Angelheim to be awesome on communication (I did get a shipping notice, whoops!) all the way through, they were very responsive in a good way to feedback too, and I got a well-packaged doll.

Yes, Agelheim is a very good company.
They answered all my mails so quickly - I was really happy.
Unfortunately I can't say something about shipping notices because my Luka isn't shipped yet....

 

I'm looking forward to more owner pics of Luka. The wolf is my dream doll - he's gorgeous. And I'm relieved their prices are reasonable so I can actually begin saving for him. And omg I'm so glad they sell the outfits, too.

Are the pictured dolls on the site in the White Skin? They look too light to be the Normal...

 

I think that they are all white - when mine eventually gets dragged to my door by parcelforce (who are taking their sweet time, but I'm impatient XD) it should be white skin. I'd love to be able to show a comparison but he'll be my first doll so lol. 8'D

I love that angelheim is doing anthro msds! I just dont think theyve got a perfected style yet because they are so new. I really look forward to watching them evolve but for now I have not been angelheim..ed? lol I like the paws but why the hair knee cap?

soooooo cute! All of the animal parts they ever made are very nice looking. Angelheim has a good sculptor, I think.

 

I really don't like the 2nd animal head at all. Looks a lot like what Iplehouse have been doing and I just find it .. well I won't put it into words cause that wouild be rude. ::laughs::

Saying that though, I LOVE the first head! I'd be probably wanting him if I collected boys!

Angelheim have so much potential for me, but they've only been releasing boys which doesn't help me much!

I'm with Midnitestar on the heads. LOVE the first head, not so much the second. Perhaps what I love the most is that they're releasing MSD fantasy dolls! Companies that are releasing fantasy parts other than ears tend to be focusing (by what I've seen) on larger dolls. Seeing these fantasy MSDs is refreshing, and I plan on buying those MSD hooves! SO glad to see Angelheim plowing on ahead with new doll releases!

but the paws are too feet-sy looking for me! I know raccoons have feetsy paws, but they still have more animal-like joint dynamic if y'a know what i mean.

I love Angelheim! I'm not lovin' the animal head but the first one is just adorable! And much love for the cute ears and feet! I'm not usually one for the clawed feet (couldn't stand SOOM's wolf teenies feet) but those are too cute.

Thankfully I'm not looking for another boy....I am, however, looking forward to seeing their 'Ice Queen'!

If you look on the bottom of the picture, it says the fantasy parts are limited so I assume this means they will not be available separately. that would kinda defeat the LE.

 

I'd like to get him in a basic normal skin. I'm not into the animal parts, but he's lovely.

Really?! I really hope he is basic in other skin colors. I do like the tan but I am more think of a doll for my little sister. She really wants a MSD fantasy boy. Does anyone know if Angelheim uses any North American distributors?

It says on his picture that only the tan skin and animal parts are limited. So is his face a Luka? or is it a new face mold that will go to basic soon?

I would snipe that animal head if I could manage to get a body to put it on. I hope it's just the tan that's limited. Kozy is very cute, and the parts are amazing, but I'm getting a Soom Appini while they are still up and at a price I can afford.

It seems like my wish of paws in mid and smaller scale dolls has been granted in every way in one weeks time.
