Angel Region Little Fair Discussion part 1:
      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...ttle-Fair-Discussion-part-1&p=71043#post71043

      ..................................
I've just learnt about the offer at Angel Region and I'm very (very!) interested in getting the Ami head. I missed the whole doll one or two weeks ago and this is my chance. But I'm also very (very!) interested in the Blue Fairy blossom body (for girls). Before I order here or there, can you tell me if it's okay to put an AR head on a BF body? Is there a problem of balance or something? I don't think, because AR has 44cm dolls and BF 43cm. But disproportion maybe? Any advice would be very welcome!

    2. Ummm....aren't the BF dolls and the AR dolls by the same sculptor? I think I read that on a post here....

    3. I'd be more worried about skintone matching than proportions, which are probably very similar, "Blossom" body or otherwise. The major difference in the Blossom body seems to be the bust and not the overall proportions.

    4. shan - Yep, different skintones may be an annoyance but since the AR head would come without make-up, I may commission a face-up to match the BF body. Do you think the difference is very big?

Lauryn - I really want my Chiara to be feminine. The blossom body would be perfect for that but the deal at AR is also very tempting. And skintone, though I don't care much about it (yet still a little bit).

      Kiyakotari - That'd be great! If only the resin was of the same colour ^^;

    5. I've heard that Angel Region MSD sized heads are a bit bigger than MSD...

Would anyone with an angelregion doll be able to measure the circumfrence of the head for me?
      Thanks! ^^

    6. If you're wondering about wigs, then MSD wigs fit them fine... I can't measure the ren I'm doll-sitting right now (I'm at work and she's not. =^^;=) But we bought her a MSD wig... I believe it was a Poshdoll or Dollmore brand... and it fits just fine!

      I hope that helps.

    7. I think this may vary from AR head to AR head... Last year, I bought a Poshdolls wig that was supposed to be fine for MSD, DoD and AR, and it simply would *not* fit my Dana-boy. :(

When I measured his head, I found that it was between 8.5 and 8.75 inches in circumference. Quite a bit bigger than the average MSD head, I think!

    8. At a meet-up last year, I had a chance to compare two different Blue Fairy dolls (neither with the blossom body, unfortunately) with my Angel Region boy. We discovered that his skintone was pretty much identical to the newer of the two Blue Fairy dolls!

Unfortunately, I still don't know whether my boy was made before or *after* Angel Region started using their new "Crystal Skin" resin. I think I got him after the Japanese site said they were switching over, but the English site didn't make any formal announcements so I have no idea. :(

From what I recall, Blue Fairy and Angel Region dolls really are proportioned similarly... there shouldn't be any major problems.

    9. They are- That sculptor dooes both the bodies and heads for BF and also soem heads for AR, to the bodies are indentical. The resin match would be the only worry, and with what twotone said, then there shouldnt' be any problems. ^^

    10. I just measured the Ren head... it was about 8 1/8th inches.

Sorry this is a little late =^^;= I ended up getting home much later than I expected last night.

    11. AR dolls skin tone (not the crystal skin) matches well with BF body.

      ^^

    12. My Dana came today...yay!

One question. They have a waist-joint thing that goes in between their top torso and middle torso....could anyone tell me how to string it on? I just strung it with the body, but it always sliding up the elastic...I am sooooo confused,

    13. That bit (at least if I'm thinking of the same thing) is meant to be glued to the bottom/middle torso. See if the middle torso has some marks where it has come away?

    14. I was also wondering about the Angel Regions... I wanted to get a Present Ren (just like so many other people...) but I was wondering how plasticy they are. my mom is mad that I bought a 'plastic doll' (aka Serendipity Shall) and I really wanted to get one that was more resin-like and didn't squeek at all, so are they plasticy?

    15. Will mention that AR minis seem to have slightly larger heads than most, and often won't fit smaller MSD sized wigs (DoD especially)

Also, squeaking isn't necessarily bad.... the new Souldoll opaque-resin boy body squeaks horribly, but he holds his poses WAY better than my Luts body, I think because the joints... stick more?

    16. My angel region cien girl doesnt squeak, but she was also a kit so she came uncoated. her texture is rather different compared to my DOD, but i still think they are both amazing dolls. she seems a little heavier than my DOD. Thats really all i can say at this point. when i get some Mr super clear, i can tell you how the coated texture is.

    17. Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone who owns or has seen an angel region doll can tell me how 'white' their standard skin colour is? Is there a really big difference between "crystal normal skin" and "crystal rose white" ? Because you can't really tell on the website. If you have any photos that compare the two that would be -fantastic- but I'd be happy to just hear descriptions of the resin colour.

      Thanks so much ^_^

      -Kitari

    18. Um..i know that my Present Ren's crystal rose white skin seemsed about the same lightness as the Luts white skin. though more pink where as their's was yellow...compared to the normal..sorry ^_^; no clue.

    19. my ren twins are crystal normal skin. compared to a luts BW the skin seems to be a bit rosey to me. its not as solid of a color as other dolls. thu being called crystal i guess >.<.

sorry im not much help. the crystal normal is like pale but normal colored. hope that helps.

    20. Reverie - I think that "crystal skin" is to AR as "pureksin" is to VOLKS.

    21. I think BF and old AR resin are the ones that match (except BF is a little yellower?), not BF resin and the crystal skin. And AR crystal normal generally seems very pale. Was Cissa a special Dana? I know the White Baby dolls were crystal normal.

    22. I have a Glory Angel Ren and a White Angel Angelica,
Ren is "normal" skin and Angelica is "white" skin.
This is not a very good comparison picture...(please look at their hands)
but hopefully it will give you a bit more clearer idea of the resin difference.
Personally I think the resin defference is not too obvious under indoor lighting,
"normal" skin is a bit more yellowish then "white".
I like both resins  I think AR's "normal" skin is more to the pinkish side than yellowish...

    23. I saw a gallery post with the new Angel Region resin vs. Bluefairy and that they didn't match, so I'm curious about the old AR resin, would it match the Bluefairy resin? I'm curious because I ordered one of the AR unfinished kits and I'd love it if at some point I could 'upgrade' my girl's chest with the BF Blossom body.

      Otherwise I might just have to see about making a padded bra for her ^_^;;;

    24. I have BF blssom body for my AR Dana gal (old resin) . They are well matches.

    25. Pandora, is there a reference for the Leeke wigs that don't fit Little Fairs? Or do any styles seem to have had consistent problems? I'm considering ordering some Leeke wigs for my LF boys, m'self.

      Fu

    26. Hi Fukurou, My girl is a Ren and the wig I ordered was M-025, it looked so small as to be silly on her, the fringe didn't even go right across her forehead. I have spoken to other people with LF who have also had this problem, Mint being one of them, I don't remember who else. I have heard some styles may be bigger than others but I do not know which ones.

I think Leeke msd wigs are size 6-7 (perfect for DoD) where-as LF seem to fit wigs that are 7-8. So its really up to you if you want to risk it. You might have better luck than me ^_^

A note: when I originally asked on this board about leeke fitting LF everyone said yes, so it may be they have found styles that do fit.

    27. I just got my ren girl unfinished kit. i was trying to put her together but they have no instructions. i've strung my SD's many times so i pretty much know what im doing but there is this little piece in the torso. is that piece supposed to be glued on or is it supposed to float around?

    28. I hope someone helps you before then, but tonight I'll probably be un-stringing my ren girl and will keep a look out for this mysterious torso piece. ^^;

    29. Here is the doll piece-

    30. Yes, that part is glued in. Kyohei's was already glued when we got him.

Congrats! I'm biting my nails now, thinking my Ami might come quicker than I thought. ;D

    31. Okie dokie, thanks :) i will glue the piece on

    32. Oh damn... I've never strung a doll before in my life. Watch my boy come out looking like some Picasso painting. XD

    33. Don't worry. its not too hard. just a little rough on the old fingers. I think there is a tutorial on DOA somewhere.

    34. AR does have instructions but they don't come with the doll unless you ask for them in the special note box when you order. It is kind of silly that they don't give them automatically with each doll but they don't. *_*

    35. omg when did you order her? because i ordered my UFK july 23 so maybe ill get mine a little early :D

thanks for posting this though because i had no idea id have to do soe glueing...what kind of glue are you going to use?

and yea i had to request them to put instructions in mine since this will be my first doll..i didnt however request it in the box when i ordered i did the shipping price wrong so i e-mailed them to make sure i did everything ok and i requested it there.

    36. i didn't read the notice until now that you had to add instructions i just assumed that they would be included. ive strung several dolls so it didn't worry me when there were no instructions but i have never encountered a little middle piece like that. the sd13's have huge torso pieces that are glued on. I will probably use super glue for the piece.

oh and i ordered her on the first day they were available, so on thet 21st of july but i didn't pay for her until the 23rd.

    37. I know, Im going to be the same way XD

    38. sell him as cubist art!!

    39. I just got my AR Diana Kit today! Yippee! I ordered her on July 26. I got an e-mail this morning that she had been mailed and by 1:00 this afternoon, she was delivered to my front door!

However, I don't know how to string her since I've never done one before.

and NO. .no instructions. . .and I DID request the instructions in the Remarks box. :x So, a request didn't even get them to me. I'm e-mailing them and asking why no instructions when I requested them.

    41. my ren poses really well. here's a picture of her posing before i sent her head away to get painted

    42. I think AngelRegion was/is selling some optional hands, but I've only seen them on the Korean site. I think there were "fist" hands like desdisques got and "scissor" hands (a peace sign maybe?), and maybe the praying hands that Present Ren came with? I looked at it through Babelfish and had to interpret it from that though, so don't quote me on any of it.

Probably they'll sell extra hands through the international site at some point too. :daisy

    43. In my opinion the shape of the kid delf hands doesn't really suit the little fair wrists. I just tried my elf Ani's optional hands on the little fair body, and I just wasn't terribly pleased with the look. Tomorrow I can do it again and take a picture, though it won't be entirely right, since the arm strings would have to be tightened due to the difference in the hand styles.

    44. It was just words, that's why I'm not certain what exactly the hands are... PoJ Ren came with "rock" hands, I don't know if those are the same as the "fist" hands (though if you get them with the "scissor" and "outspread" hands you could play Rock Paper Scissors! :daisy), but there are a couple of people here who have PoJ Ren so they could say.

I'm looking for the page on the Korean and Japanese sites but I'm having trouble finding it...maybe I hallucinated it. *_* Right now I'm digging through the sold-out section on the Japanese site (which seems to be arranged at total random) in an effort to prove to myself that I'm sane...I'll let you know if I find it! :daisy

I'm pretty certain the optional hands will go up at some point. They put up the heads and the UFK, after all, and it's not like it's a country-specific thing like some of the dolls are. You could ask on their Q+A board if you really want to know (though they probably won't be able to give a specific date, probably just "this October" or "next December" or "later this week"). Right now the best idea would probably be to find someone who got a doll with optional hands and see if they're willing to sell them.

    45. does anyone has some pictures or words comparing the male and female angel region little fair bodies.

is the boy body thinner in the hips and wider in the shoulders? who has thinner legs? are they almost the same? is the boy taller? what sort of alterations might have to be made to wearing the other genders' clothing?

tell me all that you can please!

    46. Yay its coming in handy ^_^

      In words, let's see..
Boy body is thinner in the waist and hips. A tight fitting shorts on a boy will not fit a girl.
      Comparison of thighs/legs .. i think the difference is negligible. Tho I swear a pair of bloomers I made using a boy model feels tighter on a girl. She might have slightly bigger thighs ^_^;;

Boys are taller in the torso, thighs part and mostly in the calves part.
I think arms-wise both are the same (tho I'm not sure abt this, I'll double check when home.. just in case interchanging long sleeved clothings)

    47. The bust/shoulder area is about the same, just different sculpting, my girl has her nipple showing when wearing tight tops ^_^; Where the boys dont have this issue..

Okay Rathi's in pieces right now, but my boy measures 8 and 1/2" from top of the thighs to the foot. 10 and 1/2" from waist-joint to foot. (You might want to minus a bit cos the waist joint is quite high for the pants to sit .. Anything else, just ask~

    48. No. The bodies are not sanded.
The Basic Kits do come with make-up. Only the UFK don't.
I think the average wait time is around a month, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
I think they're coated, my Jade came coated anyway, but he was limited.

They're got a fairly wide range of posing-ness. The main gripe I think are the hands (very odd pinky) and it's a bit hard to pose them sometimes. Otherwise I think they pose very well. On some of the older dolls there's limited head movement without a washer, but the newer ones don't seem to have this problem.

    49. They bodies aren't sanded
      They come with makeup

I'm not sure the wait time for the real AR site, as I got my doll from an american site
My boys body isn't coated, but his face is

And he poses rather well. He can stand on his own and what not.
I DO want to to seude him though, as his stringing is really tight. so he snaps back sometimes @ 3@

    50. Do the bodies come sanded?--Nope (not unless the state it with the doll, normally they are not sanded but the seams are really not that bad)
I'm assuming there is no makeup on them, unless they're a LE?--They all come with a default makeup. It is set in the price.
What's the average wait time for AR?--Hmmm since I had a limited it was about 7 to 8 weeks. But if it is a regular doll a month or less.
Are they coated?--Not that I can see with the body ,but the face sure is.
-What's the posability like? --They can stand very well with little effort, with shoes or bare footed. The head turns easy too. Not floppy or stiff, just that you can turn it the way you want it. My Ren poses pretty well, but I do think his left arm might be strung too tight so it doesn't like to bend as easy and doesn't like to hold a pose. His right arm is better.

    51. The boy doll is taller by 1cm. :daisy The boy is 44cm while the girl is 43.

    52. According to the site measurements, the girls also have slightly slimmer shoulders and waists, and slightly wider hips. I've been able to share clothes between my LF girl and my friend's LF boys just fine though. :D The difference is so slight that probably even a super-fitted outfit could fit both girls and boys.

    53. I think that dolls ordered while AngelRegion is really busy (like the Present Jades, the Natural Tanning dolls, etc.) tend to be badly strung. My friend has a Present Ren who stands beautifully (both he and my White Baby Ren can stand on one foot :D), but her Present Jade 2 and NT Kai were apparently both strung pretty badly and could barely stand. Maybe Angel doesn't string their dolls as well during during rush periods?

If it helps, she coated her Jade and said that somehow just doing that helped him to stand much better (friction from the coating maybe?). :daisy

    54. That's quite a possibility and makes sense they might rush the stringing during busy periods.

My Nik needed a good bit of tinkering before he could even stand for more than a few seconds at all. He was so bad I wanted to fling him out the window. But his legs are wired now and he's nice and steady.
My Jade stands just fine, but he can't do much in the way of posing. It's pretty much stand and move his arms around. lol When I think of how well a doll poses, I look for more than just being able to stand on their own. I guess I'm just spoiled by my Kid Delf who can hold the most amazing poses. ^^
Regardless, my Jade will be getting wired once I'm feeling unlazy enough to bother.

    55. I agree! my Present Ren has great posability! can stand on one foot, can kick laptops :sneaky and all that fun stuff, but when it comes to having his arms fully outspread, his left arm snaps in a bit, no matter how many times I try to get his arms to both stay straight at the same time, it rarely happens. anything else is VERY possible! I should try and see if he could stand on his head, he could probably do it! *in a sweet voice* hey Adriyn~!
      Adriyn:what?
me: *big fat grin on face* come here sweetie!
      Adriyn: oh no! :shudder

    56. My Jade stands and holds poses very very well. He didn't come sanded, but the seams aren't bad and yes they come with faceups unless you buy an unfinished kit. I got my doll about a month after their order period for the present Jades ended, and my roommate got her doll (a basic kit Cien) three weeks after she ordered. My expereince is that they're very friendly and helpfull. :D

    57. The shoes on the AR website (S) are made for the 44cm dolls. They are great quality and look even better in person. I just received two pair a couple weeks ago. It only took 5 days for the order to arrive to me!!!
      AR has GREAT customer service!

      TK

    58. The size small (or size S) shoes on AR will fit Ren -- up at the top of the shoes page there are three links to size S, size M, and size L. If you click on 'Size S' it'll only show the shoes that will fit him. (Most of the new shoes are Mary-Jane-style shoes, but if you click through a few pages you can get to the awesome boy/unisex shoes like Sunshine and Middle Ages.) :daisy And I agree, I LOVE their shoes -- I think they're better-made than most shoes for humans.

And that was more than anyone needed to know about AngelRegion's shoes.

    59. Go to http://angelsupply.com/ and under the special section is the Only For You system.
