@arkell I also had a speedy order when I purchased my version I body. Mine's was made and shipped in 10 days. I kind of want to buy the version II body now if it's always going to be that fast of a turn around. Who did you order your body through? I made my purchase through a one of AoD's Taobao dealers.

@Cloudedmind I ordered from Alice's Collections! They were super helpful and actually were able to get me clearer photos of the body without the grain filter in its promo photos. They also said that AoD orders ship out super fast in less than a month, but I definitely didn't expect just 7 days! You also get free EMS shipping when ordering a body over 55cm too, so honestly can't recommend them enough!

@Arkelle I may have missed this, but what head did you get the body for?

 

@Cloudedmind It's no worries, I actually didn't mention it. I got it for my Dearmine Vincent head which is an anthro cat sculpt. I thought the thin and long-legged look of the ver II body would suit a catboy really well!

The body arrived to me already! Exactly 10 days since the day I ordered! The resin color doesn't match the head I got it for, but I intended to dye him anyway so that's not a big deal. Otherwise I think it suits him perfectly, and i'm very happy with it so far! I'll try to get some photos here soon!

Also, i'd say the shoulder width measured with the arms is more like 14cm, and even close to 15cm slightly lower down.

Can I drop off some spam? This Heidi was the first doll of a local collector, who later sold her to my best friend, who sold her to me, who only wanted her body XD Recently I pulled her out of the drawer she'd been in, modded her slightly and gave her a faceup.

My Harley has three heads so she's the full-time look, but I love her as an extra!

ETA: I forgot to mention she's NS and I painted her white...and didn't bother to match her to her body, which is why she's...the way she is. lol

 

She looks AWESOME! I've always been a fan of your mods/comic book dolls and this is no exception! I think the look with the white head works pretty well, I'm not super familiar with DC comics but I'm under the impression that Harley wears full-on clown makeup a lot, so this kinda fits? Either way she looks great!

If it's okay to ask, what body is she on? If it's AoD as well and you'd be willing to share the bust size I'd really appreciate it- that's the last decision I need to make regarding my next doll (AoD Meng Li) and while I planned on looking around the forum first before asking for comparisons, I figured it wouldn't hurt in this case. ^w^;

She's on my Luts SDF type 2 body (Harley's other two heads are a Luts event head). I do have the AOD body (with a FL head on it) but I have no idea what size her bust is. Sorry I couldn't help!

When does AOD tend to have sales? I’m thinking of getting a larger doll from them.

 

I don't think they ever really have sales? At least I don't remember any. They're already on the the more affordable end than most dolls anyways.

 

I had my eye on Angel of Dream's Yuki for years before I actually bought her, and I don't think I ever saw a sale. But AoD is one of the most affordable companies there is, and they also have some of the shortest wait times and great quality for the low price. I am really happy with my AoD girl-- she actually holds a pose better than a few of my more expensive dolls!

They might do a winter one sometimes? I ordered mine from Alice's and was sent a resin cat as a bonus/gift, so that was a really cool thing that can sometimes happen.

 

Hey everyone, I'm really enjoying seeing your AODs! I am buying a Qi (on layaway), and she'll be my first big doll, I have only had MSDs and smaller before. Does anyone here have a Qi? If so, I'd love to see your pics! Also, could you please tell me what size eyes I will need for her?

 

Congrats on your Qi @Charlotte Sometimes . I started out with big dolls then later went smaller, so I'm all over the place with scale too! I don't have Qi but think that's an excellent choice for your first SD size. Have you made plans for her yet?

 

Thank you! No concrete plans, but I know I want to attempt her face-up myself, so I'm gradually accumulating supplies and obsessively watching tutorials and reading all I can about technique, as my only previous attempt was on a tiny doll, using only pencils, and without any research. I'm most excited to sew for her and am picturing lots of floaty, trailing chiffon and pastel colors. She's definitely going to be a long term project and hopefully the doll I develop my creativity with!

@Chelokotik Oh! Thank you for reminding me, I completely forgot! I did take some nicer photos at one point, but i'd lost them in a hard-drive failure. I would take new ones, but the body has since been dyed, so it might not be quite as helpful as reference now. I do still have some quick photos I took of the new body for a friend though!

I originally thought I'd ordered the ver.1 body, but realize I actually have the ver.2. Which is fine as I like the look of it more.

 

@Kitty Blue Yes, it is! The link that @Cloudedmind linked is correct. It's their new Ver.II 62cm boy body. Its difficult to really tell because the company photos aren't very clear.

 

thanks I haven't looked at the body section in a while...I like the new joints and that its just a 2 part torso, always felt that the hip joint was pretty pointless..lol. I wonder if they will be doing the same with the girl 60cm body, that would be pretty cool I feel like I need to put wire in the arms of my girls body.

On a side note did they change their normal resin color? I just received a Mu Yanzi head and she is sooooo pale compared to the body that I just got last year brand new (maybe it was 2yrs can't remember) do you think it could yellow that quickly? though maybe it was just due to different resin batch.

 

Forgot to mention here since I'm not as active much these days-
I ordered Bailey (AoD Meng Li) on the 4th and got the shipping notif on... the 20th... I think? Either way that's wicked fast, but apparently this is fairly close to normal for AoD judging by the waiting room thread. I'm super excited!!!

I ordered her with default faceup(which I'm hoping will be close to the pics but I can deal if it isn't) and the medium bust. I'm hoping it won't be too hard to find clothes for her... I've been more active in the vinyl side of the hobby so all my patterns are for the Dollfie-Dream-and-similar sized dolls. Anyone have recs for clothing sources for AoD girls? I can defs go by measurements but I figured I'd ask since I'm not super experienced in finding clothes for dolls that don't have an obvious standard. Going to see if I can find comparisons to Volks SD or SD13(???) first because there seems to be more out there for those standard sizes.

Bailey has been my dream doll since I first joined the hobby... around 10 or so years at this point! As I got more into the hobby I found other dolls that seemed more worthwhile at the time, back when $300 seemed like A Lot To Spend On A Doll- but now she's finally coming home! Oh man am I excited oh man oh man--

(my only worry is a minor one, that if they can complete the doll in 16 days there might be some issue with quality, faceup or otherwise- but on the other hand I've seen nothing but good stuff about what people here have been getting, so hopefully it's just the doll-waiting jitters ;; )

 

Hey just an update, I've been super busy but Bailey arrived on the 24th! Her faceup is nearly identical to the official pics which is awesome, there's a small scratch on her chin but that's due to a mishap unboxing which is definitely my fault.

Currently she's on a shelf in my room where I can see how pretty she is, but I plan to do more with her once I get her some clothes and am not as busy. I might share some box opening pics later but for now here she is!

Congrats @Cattya ! She looks fantastic! They do a really great job with the faceups for sure. I love how they get to come home with something on, that's so nice of the company to be so thoughtful. I'm happy for you she arrived safe and sound home.

Maybe someone here knows the answer, I've been looking into the big AOD boys recently and I found a website for the dealer Wamami (I'm fairly certain I remember them being a legit dealer, but correct me if I'm wrong). I saw they were selling the Izumi head, but in the pictures for it, they showed two different heads, the regular one and then one with lidded eyes. I can't find any information on the lidded eye version of that head anywhere else and there's nothing on other dealer sites about it. So, does anyone know if that head is actually available for purchase or not?

I received my Wu Shuang, NP, Small bust bout two months back. I love her very much
She's only my second doll and was a bit of an impulse buy, but zero regrets!
I have only found a few other owners of her, would love to see if anyone else's

 

I just got my order from Alice's Collections and managed to put my hybrid together. I chose the new AoD body for two reasons. First, the price, obviously... And second, the sculpt. I like lanky guys without overly wide arms, etc. Boys not men So, anyway, here's a small comaprison in case one's wondering if this body would make a goot match for a lonely BJD girlfriend :P Also, the sleepy blonde is a petite boy!!!

What the posing like on the new 62cm body?

The sculpting is great so if he’s a solid little poser it’d be a dream, especially at that price

 

He's an awesome poser imo And the joints are all aesthetically pleasing. The sculpting is so cute It's the cheapest and yet one of the prettiest bodies on the market!

 

Is AoD doing ok?
I seems a lot of dealers stopped carrying them? They're not up on Legenddoll anymore. The only place I can still find them is Alice Collections.

The head is in powder beige and I just want to know which AOD color would match better, the pink or the yellow? I feel like both of them are a bit off but if anyone can take pictures for me I'd super appreciate it!

 

Hi all! I want to buy an AOD Shi with faceup, and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the faceup is similar to the website and how it holds up? Bonus points for pictures!

 

I know it's not the same thing, but my Meng Li arrived with a faceup just like in her listing pictures that were probably taken... close to a decade before the time I ordered her? So it seems that their faceup artists are pretty good at imitating the pictures! Take this with a grain of salt though, because this was around 2 years ago and things may have changed since (like they could have different artists now or some such, maybe)-- but faceups aren't forever, in any case, so if you really don't like what you get you can probably find someone to commission for something closer (though many artists don't make exact copies of others' work on principle, opinion varies in regards to official company standard faceups, so you could ask around). It would suck for your wallet if you shell out for a company faceup and it doesn't work out, but like I said- my Meng Li was near exact, so while it's up to you, I'd say it's worth a try if you like the company one.

Hello everyone, I know someone has asked this already, but I don't believe it was answered--does anyone know if NS-Y or NS-P is closer to Switch Powder Beige? Or does anyone have more pictures of AoD normal resin color? Thanks!

 

I have a 2023/24 doll (head and body came separately, but are the same colour) in normal pink. No comparisons to Switch unfortunately. I could compare to Resinsoul normal, Souldoll normal, Raccoondoll normal or Fairyland normal skin if that would be helpful to you. For what it's worth, AOD normal pink has a definite pink undertone, it is not beige in any shape or form.

 

Oh, thank you so much! If I could get a comparison to Resinsoul and Fairyland, I would appreciate it so much. And thank you, I feel I might have to get NS-Y.

 

Sure! All of these are 2024 resins. The 1/3 doll is AOD normal pink, the 1/12 is Resinsoul normal, and the tiny Realpuki is Fairyland normal.

The differences are less visible in outdoor lighting but the Resinsoul and AOD are very close in tone, with Resinsoul being a little paler, and the Fairyland is both darker and far more peachy/warm toned. I hope this helps!

You’re welcome! Yes, AOD normal pink is extremely light. It‘s a pretty color but more like a tinted white. It‘s an almost match to Resinsoul and also to Impldoll pink, which is just a hint pinker.

Please excuse my terrible memory, but I read somewhere on here that AOD's line was pulled from ACBJD because they are taking a little break.
I still haven't gotten Zimei, and I want her, so I was worried. Some BJD companies give us warning, and some just fade away.
I was on AOD's website today, and I spy with my little eye new elbow and knee joints on the 58 cm female body...
Very much looking forward to their return.

Has Angel of Dream gone? I've been trying ACBJD's site lately but everything is wiped from their section. I've been planning some hybrids and the new 62cm v.2 body has been perfect for it, so I'm a little paranoid now that it's gone

Is the 10cm shoulder measurement for the girl body accurate?

 

For the 62cm ver 2 boy body, is the 13cm measurement for the shoulder width including the arms or just the shoulder length on the torso itself? I've tried searching everywhere and can't get a concrete answer.
