Amelia's dress is absolutely stunning. I enjoyed reading through this thread. What a lot of work there was involved.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed my posts! It always seems like a great idea, & then turns into a lot of work when I start one of these sewing projects!!! But at least in the end my dolls get some nice clothes. ;}
That's exactly how I felt when I first saw BJDs! I must have one so I can sew clothes for her! Such exquisite little models! My only doll is a ResinSoul Mei and her most recent outfit is a t-shirt and leggings, but I don't care for them. I'd much rather make dresses. I don't have any of those Victorian books (although I did look up The National Garment Cutter Book of Diagrams, The Diamond Garment Cutter Correspondence School Instruction Book, and The Diamond Garment Cutter Book of Diagrams), but I'm going to start with some basic vintage style patterns I can buy in the right size so I don't have to complicate things by mathematically scaling down human designs. Hopefully I'll get there eventually. I can follow a pattern, but creating my own is too intimidating at this point. I do have several of my own design ideas, but they're all pretty simplistic. Thank you for sharing that other link, too! I enjoyed reading that, as well. There's so much to read on this site and so many links to follow, I'm rather overwhelmed!
