Great work guys! Really so amazing all the entries!

 

The art school dropout in me was impressed with the first place winner, but I ended up not including it in my three votes because it looked to me like a painting of a doll than an actual doll. It was insanely well executed, though! The shading, the posing, everything!

My personal favorite of all the photos was third place winner, just because it was spookily like a doll and yet eerily still like a person. I hope she enjoys her treat (I was totally aiming for it)!

I gotta say my contest shoot was really rushed. My entries were #130 and #131. Even though we didn't place, my boyfriend and I had a lot of fun with the shoot and got some pretty photos out of it. So it's a winning situation anyway.

 

Congratulations to the winners, all of them. It'd be cool to see all the scores like in the Almost human contest. My entry is #109. I had such great ideas, but sadly between work and looking for a new home, I just couldn't make them all come to fruition in time. If anything, though, I can just fix the hooves up a bit and wear them for halloween. Yes, they're actual, useable stilts.

My entry was #34. It was fun cosplaying SD13 Williams, although I never want to wear that much clothing outside during a Las Vegas summer ever again D:.

Thanks My daughter and I had a great time with that photo shoot. I also had this one http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c252/MisticUnicorn/art/almostadoll2.jpg that I thought about entering, but the one we used was the best in my opinion She is so good at facial expression I will be printing some of the photos from this shoot out really large and framing them to go on her bedroom wall.

I think my daughter was almost more excited that we won a treat than if we had gotten first lol

A commemorative photo is a fantastic idea! I don't think any of the photos from my own shoot are quite as frame-worthy, though, but I do love the idea of personalize wall art.

OH my word, I won!

Thank you so much for voting for my photos! It was a lot of work, but me and my dolly friend Siama (the model) had fun. We spend 8 hours with make up and poor Siama had to be bubble wrapped while there was the all time heal peek here at Finland: 37degrees Celsius! I promise to give a good home to Chris and to take lots of photos!!!

@ Emilia When I first scrolled down and saw the other picture you entered, I was startled, but in a good way. I studied the picture for a while because it honestly looked like there was a gap where his head and neck met. Great job on the makeup and photos!

It's been ages since I did any theatre make ups, but I use to be in a hobby theatre group as a kid and teenager, and did everyone's make up then. Now I just tried to think of my friend as a doll while painting him! LOL To be honest I think I was just lucky to have such a pretty friend with a body build fit for a doll and I'm definitely sharing my price with him. He doesn't collect BJDs, but I will le him choose a doll from my fashion doll collection.
