Swap All I Want For Xmas- Christmas Eve Photoshoots!

Since my family had their Christmas this past weekend, and I'll be traveling for the holiday, I opened Hailey's gifts from @arrowchild early.

Everything was tucked inside a cute little tin mailbox.

Awesome! I actually got a special blanket because I do not have a tree in doll scale and Christmas totally snuck up on all of us this year--so it only has lights on it.... >.> <.< But, on the upside, my folks and I are less stressed and enjoying the holiday more than usual. XD

Thank you to @stephaniefoo and @phantomwings86 for the absolutely thoughtful and totally wonderful gifts. They have truly made us feel special this holiday! Here is a little photostory I just wrote up, I hope it's enjoyable. (I ended up really interupted trying to write and upload... so I hope it flows nicely...lol) I definitely had fun writing it and taking the pictures. Geesh that took me a while to finally get it up, but without further ado....

A little backstory: Rae and Beskha are complete opposites and yet the best of friends. This unlikely pair came together during a dark time in Rae's life. Beskha is a warrior, that is all she has ever known until the day she pulled Rae out of a dangerous place. Rae is Beskhas light and Beskha protects her weather she needs it or not.
Bradley (who is not pictured) dated Rae for a very brief time, he is not the best character being a deceitful and cruel jokester only ever looking out for himself. He has a twin brother named Bruce, who unknowingly got caught up in the relationship with Rae in a twins swaparoo. When the story unfolded and Rae realized Brads true character she turned her affection to Bruce but he was already in love with someone and so they decided to stay friends.
Rae and Catz became good friends after being introduced by Bruce who is also Catz BFF and crush. They have been together since they were young children so the feelings of affection can be a little confusing and although they are both in love with each other, Bruce and Catz never seem to get past the friend zone.
Catzilla is a zilla. (A daughter of Godzilla, she uses enchantments to give herself the ability to transform into a - quite giant- humaniod.)
Bruce is a wereshark. (a Megladon who can shapeshift at will)


Catz: (Bursting through the door) HELLO!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Merīkurisumasu!!
Watashi wa okashi o motte imasu! I bring sweets for all!
Bruce: (to Catz) Do I really need to be flashing...
Catz: YESSsss! It's Christmas! AND it's awesome!!


Bruce: Sure.. I'll be your Christmas tre----


Beska: (Startled awake) Holy--- What the-- Who ---



Rae: BESKHA! hahaha! It's alright! It's just Catz and Bruce! Yay! The gift opening can commence! I was already getting started!
.... WILL YOU PUT THAT thing away! Here look! Santa Filled your stocking!!!



Beskha: .... *grumbles* There better be some knifes in there... or blades of sorts... weapons in general...
Rae: ouuuu! *endearingly makes fun* Oh my! Such a wild spirit! Here is a card for you, warrior princess.
Beskha: *stares* Don't ever. Again, say such horrible things.
Rae: (to Catz) But seriously! Doesn't she look like a Gothic Ariel??? *laughs*
Beskha: Don't.


Bruce: Should we get started, I can't wait till you see my gifts (to Catz)
Catz: Awwww! I don't know if it can be more awesome than this galaxy sweater and ornament light necklace I got you! *giggles*

Beskha: ... uhhh..... I"m pretty sure that "necklace' belongs on a tree.... look! looks just like the one on my tree....
Rae: Beskha! Come on, get up! And GET DRESSED! (to Catz) You gotta open mine first! I hope you like it!

@little-reisuke I'm am SO happy that hoodie fits him! I used to have a Dollshe boy, but he got traded off before the swap went intofull swing, so I was kind of guessing based on patterns I still had. XD Oh, and the necklace can be twisted/wrapped to be a multi-layered bracelet too, if you prefer.

 

So, I actually did my photos around 1 a.m. because I was up late wrapping gifts, and I knew we’d have 10 people over (five are staying over and the couple going home didn’t leave until almost 10:30…) and Ysayle wanted to know what her gifts were. And there was some arguing… but I caved. /Now/ I am really glad I got it done and posted to Flickr so this is relatively easy. XD

Before we start, THANK YOU!!!!! so so much Lady Feather! Your notes were lovely and the gifts even more so! I (and Ysayle) were so excited to open each gift and with each one it got even better. The snowy palm trees I think are gonna be a thing now. XD


So, we began by arranging all her lovely packages around her. Because she is sort of a queen like that.

I opened the white envelope last and she was just as surprised as I was—there is a BEAUTIFUL blanket and pillows! When my doll corner is set up, she is going to want a place all to herself. XD Oh, and some snow covered palm trees with these. XD

Me: Lilac has been patiently waiting for me to allow her to open her gifts. It is late on Christmas day but she finally can open them.



Lilac: I got a mouse! A cute little knit mouse! I love him; he'll be my pet forever!



Lilac: Now I just have to come up with a good name for him. He is sooooo cute!



Me: there is another gift in the box. How about you take it out?
Lilac: Sushi! All my favorite kinds too!



Lilac: I don't know which one to eat first - maybe I'll eat them all at once.
Me: No, you'll get fat if you do. Save them for later, you have other gifts to open.
Lilac: That's true, but they look so good....

 

Lilac: this one is wrapped so prettily. And it has starfish on the ends of the cord.



Me: There is a card attached. How about you read that first?
Lilac: yes, that is a good idea.



Lilac: Oh, what a nice card. Thank you! Now let's unwrap the box. I want to see what is in there!



Lilac: Can we save the cord and make a belt for me?
Me: I think we can manage that.



Lilac: Oh - the ribbon looks like fishing net. Maybe I can use it to catch some sushi.
Me: ....



Lilac: It's beautiful! A string of light up starfish! These will have to go up in my room!



Lilac: See? Even mousie likes them. They are perfect!

 

Lilac: The last box had starfish on it. Maybe this one has a reindeer in it?



Lilac: That doesn't look like a reindeer, it looks like... like fish scales!



Lilac: I'm going to be the best-est, prettiest catfish around!



Lilac: Let me get out of this dress and become a catfish...
Me: Um, Lilac, how about we do that later. You still have the very nice sweater to check out.



Lilac: this is just what I wanted. Thank you so much Catzilerella! Everything is just what I wanted!



The gifts are superb and I appreciate them very much Catzilerella.
After doing this photoshoot I can see how much work I have to do on Lady Katra to make her the beauty that I envision. First we have to whiten the body and then the wig needs some touch-ups and stitching around the face to make it look nicer. She will be my main chore for the new year.
It was difficult to have it hang correctly with the dress, but she insisted on dressing up for the holiday.
I will get a picture up of the 'catfish' but it is very late and I am very tired. It has been a very long two days.

 

To those that have posted, your gifts are very fitting compared to your lists. It is nice to see everyone getting such gorgeous gifts.
Scholar, I'm glad you like the things I sent. The pillows and blanket [which can double as a rug] are of an Oriental design. I didn't have anything that reflected your theme but I hoped that it could be considered an expensive imported gift for her use [grin].

 

Ysayle LOVES it. Being a world traveler and former leader of an international crime ring she likes nice things from all over. XD Also, her room at the government operations where she is currently serving her time was very sparse. It won't be anymore. XD (She is an RP character and the rug and pillow set might have to become an in game thing.) XD I loved it so much!

Everything was so perfect for her! A "Totally Tea-riffic" Christmas Seriously though, I can't thank you enough!! It was all so amazing!! There aren't enough emojis to express my happiness and excitement!

 

So glad you liked it! I did not make the charm, but when I saw it I knew Tea had to have it. xD I saw the sock monkey and since my town is the "Sock Monkey Capital" and so I wanted to include that. XD I am glad Tea loves her things.

 

I put the outfits on Ysayle last night. OMG. SO LOVELY! The top was a little loose, so I have to be creative in how it ties, but the white with dot outfit is still nice on her!

Scholar, many thanks for the pictures. You managed to put the polka dot top on a bit differently than I did but it looks good! And the rest of the items seem to fit her fairly well. I'm happy that you like them, even if I overestimated her height.

 

Cute! I took pictures of Kai With a Christmas present too but I cant seem to find it right now.
