I'm looking at the Akagi boys for months already, the first that cought my eye was Janz. Then I decided to start with a practice head and wanted to get a Lan... then I realized his face could be a character I have in mind.
The problem there was, he'll need to be with another doll of mine who's a mini and they don't sell Lan as a mini. So I looked through the other dolls and found Hugues who looks even more perfect.
So long story short I updated my wishlist ad I'll be getting a mini Hugues!

 

I'm actually looking for platinum blonde hair, but it's hard to find the right cut AND the right color XD if I find the right cut any shade of yellow will do
Fur wigs always look short on store pics, maybe cause they're modeled by SD dolls idk. Can you post a picture with him wearing 12mm eyes?

They don't even sell Lan as a full big doll, at least not on Alice's Collections.

I think i was already unconsciously looking for him because another doll I noticed recently was AOD's Cariata, Hugues and Cariata have similar faces. But I actually need a different nose for him and with Cariata's small one I'd need to add apoxie, while Hugues' nose is so big I should be able to mod it and build a nice curve just by sanding.

Do you also have other minis or tinies? I'd love to see a size comparison.

 

So my other post on this was deleted because the pictures wouldnt show up. I thought i deleted the link from the post but i guess not so i apologize to the moderators on here, i honestly thought i unlinked it. But first of all Merry Christmas to all my fellow Dolly mommies and Daddies! And my Kaija is almost three months old already....I can't believe it. I never thought i would ever own a Bjd then he came into my life and now he's been here for almost three months....It makes me sad because it feels like just yesterday i was told the package would be arriving and now he's old and growing up! I love my Kaija!

 

Hi, i'm interested in getting an akagidoll 47cm boy this year, but i can't seem to find many owner pictures or much info really, could anyone post any pictures of their boys?

 

I just got mine in the mail today and I can't get his head cap off! HELP!
Is there a trick? I'm so afraid of hurting him

I'm sorry. Life got busy (father with health problems). And yes. I got it off. He just has a waaay stronger magnet than my RSDoll! Thank you!

 

That's great news. At least you didn't damage it while taking it off.

I actually just ordered an Akagi Doll Ling through a Taobao Shop and just waiting for him. I was concerned about his size but I think things will be OK. I think he will be the last BJD I order but who knows. There are a few companies I want dolls from but I don't want dolls dominating my craft room.

 

You won't regret it. My boy is wonderful! Poses wonderfully. And he's similar in size to my JID girl (taller which is appropriate). But he is thin. He does fit standard MSD clothing (rather than slim/MNF clothes).

 

That's good to know! I started buying clothes for him already but I will keep in mind to stay away from Slim MSD but I think so far I've just ordered regular MSD. I was concerned about pants but I did order a pair from Esty and they will lengthen them to fit. I'm excited for him to come home so I can make more items for him.

 

Stretchy Jeans or pants would be good to have. He can sit cross legged or on his knees very easily. So stretch would be good to preserve this ability.
And I made the canon 707 outfit from Mystic Messenger for my Yair. He really was easy to sew for. (Still need to paint his glasses --and his face LOL)

 

Wow! That's a really good idea! I never thought of basing a doll after a character. I love 707 in that game. I need to finish the first route I'm still on so I can do his. He really made an impression on me. One of my faves next to Zen. If that's him in your icon, he's cute from the side. Love the red hair!

I'll keep an eye out for some stretch pants. I think I ordered some stretchy ones form Tata's Paradise so I'll see how they work when I get them.

 

Oh nice. If they don't work, get some baby jeans from a thrift store. That material is wonderfully stretchy. It's what I used to make Sae's pants.

And yeah. That's him in my profile pic. I don't have him uploaded anywhere to link photos. I wish we could just upload them to the thread directly.

 

I take a gander around thrift stores in my area. My grandmother is a thrifing queen so I can drag her along for a look. I would love to see an up close picture of him. His arms are really long. How is the detail for his body in general? I saw the chest part and it was really detailed. Pictures help but sometimes its better to know from someone who actually has one.

 

@fairylin I wish I could post pics directly. I couldn't even upload his photo for my profile. But he defined but skinny. His arms are long but have some nice shape/definition to them--very nice for his character actually. I'll DM you.

Brief history of what led me here: 5 years ago I got my first ever doll, a DollLove Arefa in yellow and this year I decided to reshell him into the same sculpt in NS because I hated the yellow skin BUT I hadn't been able to order him yet and he went up in price and I was just looking through what companies had events right now with Alice's Collections and I saw how much god damn cheaper Akagi Doll are! And so tall and pretty and a CARRY BAG?! Anyway... it feels very weird to make this decision. I still have a dolllove Arefa, I dyed him tan, but I was so set on keeping the character as an Arefa... but Janz is like a more realistic, mature version anyway and I think he'd look great... and so cheappp!

To be honest, I waffled between Yair, Ling Long and Janz. I love his face so much. I wanted to have something mature and at least all of Akagi Dolls look like mature boys. I can't wait to see your doll when he arrives.

I ended up getting Ling Long in the end. He looks perfect for the clothes I already ordered. I'm not sure how long Akagi takes to make their dolls.

 

@Calabri that's awesome you came across janz, he does look similar! And the fact that akagidoll boys are cheap is a definite plus

@fairylin honestly i was tempted by all of them lol but i ordered a ling long too,i think i might mod his eyes to open them up a bit though. I think the wait is about 2-3 months now, and i've ordered mine about a month and a half ago.
i'm so eager for him to arrive!

I would love to see pictures when anyone gets their dolls, i've barely seen any other than bans and yusris

 

Does anyone know if Akagidoll looks in-proportion when standing next to Unoa (boy or girl)?
I've got Yusri on my wishlist, and I want to know if he'll make a good photo companion to my Unoas, in both style and size. :3

Hello! I have a question for owners in here: Does anyone happen to know if a Kid Delf head will fit the 47cm body? I see that the necks are within a cm of eachother, but since I am pretty new to the hobby I don't quite know if that makes a world or difference or not?

 

I've been eyeing a couple of the Akagi dolls thanks to the event at Alice's Collections. This thread was definitely helpful! Do any of you happen to have any more pictures of your Akagi dolls, or thoughts, or recommendations?

Well, my Ban is about to be shipped from Alice's Collections! I'm so excited, and surprised, that he'll be here so soon. I mean, I ordered him AFTER I ordered my Resinsoul boy, and I heard that Alice's Collections usually takes a couple months to ship, but it's been less than a month and he'll be on his way soon! So happy!~

 

My Ban got home on the 2nd of this month! He doesn't have anything at the moment but some shorts I sewed for him, which are pretty rubbish, but he's sharing clothes with my Fantasy Doll Mathan I just unboxed today! Here's both Jean (Ban) and Emory (Mathan) hanging out! The shorts Emory has on are the ones I made, lol

I'm wanting a akagidoll 47 cm to shell one of my characters and was wondering if anyone had more pictures of linglong? Also if you have pictures of him with other doll companies (esp a little monica msd!) I'd love to see those. He's partner is a little monica elena and I really want them to look okay together.

 

Newish to the hobby and an akagi doll roosevelt was my first boy, and i'm absolutely in love with how he holds poses and stands. Once I give him a faceup and sew some clothes for him i'll defs be posting owner pics bc I'm quite in love with him lol

Hello everyone!
I have just joined and this is my first post!✨
However, it is bittersweet as I really wonder if anyone could offer any assistance?
I ordered my Akagidoll Lan 47cm in May and while I sat in the 'waiting room' I thought I'd order some jointed hands for him. I am new in the hobby and he is my first of that size so without too much knowledge I ordered Resinsoul's 1/4 hands thinking they would be okay. I finally got my Lan yesterday and the hands aren't the right size or colour - even though resinsoul said their normal skin would match without needing their resin matching service.
I wonder if anyone of you have jointed hands on your dolls and if you could suggest some good places to get some hands that work on Akagidolls this size. Resinsoul hands are beautiful but a little too slim and small although they too fit on the wrist they just look a little off!
Any responses would be so wonderful ~ I look forward to chatting to you all!

I'm walking in circles around Akagi dolls staring at Ban. Has anyone ever tried putting that head on a female body? Akagi or otherwise. How does it look?

 

heads of boys look big enough on their bodies, on a female body it will look quite comical

Can anyone suggest to me a reliable size/brand of shoes? The character I've shelled with my Lan would wear solid white dress shoes but all the solid shoes I can find are pointed toe and his wide toes never seem to fit. I've tried wider shoes and they seem too small for his feet, even when checking inner length and width. Has anyone else had trouble buying shoes that fit these boys?

I haven't posted here before, cause I didn't have an Akagidoll, but then I got a Janz 2nd hand a while ago.
He's been a huge project and I figured I might as well show him off, especially as Akagidoll MSDs seem to be totally underrated.

I can't find another Akagi-midi thread so I guess this one will include their new line of amazingly pretty 44cm girls? And their incredibly cute big-baby (38cm) - or maybe she goes with the tinies?
Anyway - If this is the right place for them, I am loving their new sculpts, which seem to be the work of a new sculptor! Has anyone ordered one of these cuties yet? Alice's has an event on ATM

 

I ordered the new Akagidoll msd girl body in February and it arrived on July. This body is amazing!!!
It seems that Akagidoll is now focusing on their msd girl body and yosd body line rather than making new dolls. Their body is specially made for hybrid with other companies. They offer neck hole circumference modification and multiples resin options that match with other famous companies resin. I ordered the Dollzone white skin, S bust, neck hole modification body from Akagidoll and I'm very satisfied with how perfectly it fits my DZ head skin.
As for the posing ability and body feature, it is by far the best body I've ever owned. It's just really sad how this company is so underrated.

@Copcop how did you order the Akagi body with custom requirements? Through a dealer? Do you know if they take requests for resin and neck diameter for the msd boy body as well?
