airbrushing faux fur?

Hello all,
So I recently learned that you can airbrush faux fur! This will unlock soooo much for me, but I have never done it before so does anyone have any tips? Or know any good tutorials on youtube or elsewhere? Luckily the first project I have for it will just be one color for a cat tail. I do have some airbrushing experience, but other than spraying on my sealant its not much. Oh! I know its better to start with white as the base, but could use the airbrush just on the tip of a black tail to make it gold? Any advice is much appreciated! Thank you!

 

Oh that's an idea. I just hope it doesn't mess up my algorithum lol
