I've been watching your progress. Aino really came out beautifully. Can I ask, what company in France did you find to order your resin from?
I was wondering what you used for the sculpt, i noticed a few chips on some of the earlier pictures, and although they did not fall off the face, i wanted to know the material.
Thank you everyone ^^ Far2Frail, I bought the resin from this site: http://www.artificina.com/ It's all in french though. soshi, I'm not sure wich pictures you mean, but the model is made from Fimo, and the cast is french resin. I'm also not sure what chips you're talking eiher, but the Fimo model is partly gessoed if that helps any.
I was wondering about the first pictures of the head. I had tried some femo clay for my first model head, but it chipped , and broke apart. My next head i had to do in SUper Scul....... which seems okay . It was just curiosity. I absolutely love this doll!
looks great!!!!!!! I can't wait to see her all finished on her body and with face up etc. She's looking so cool!
I love the look of her joints, can you post some detailed pictures of the joints assembled and unassembled? i want to start work on a tiny, but joints really daunt me.
She really is beautiful! Especially the body. Can I ask, is it possible to turn the torso completely, and always have the edges match up smoothly? The doll I'm making is thinner then he is wide, and when I turn the torso joint, the edges of the joint don't match up anymore. D:
soshi, my Fimo work just fine, it chipping apart sound scary Allthough I've since started everything else from airdry clay because it's so much nicer to form than Fimo Thank you lolipop! I've been admireing your girls lately so I'm flatered that you took a look at my little project *^^* z3r0, I can take an assembled and unassembled picture, once I have complitely finished sanding everything, so you can see how the joints are Black_Cheshire, thank you ^^ The body looks slightly more defined now(adn I just realised I haven't posted any pics of it assembled yet!) I don't think you can turn her torso completely to the side, but very much so still. She's not exactly round byt close nough so to have this feminine turning to the side.
Oh, great. I was really starting to get upset, because I couldn't figure out what to do short of turning his torso into a cylinder - I don't have any other BJDs to compare with. XD Thanks!
Not all dolls can turn their torso to the side ^^ Take Little Fairs for example. So no stress there :3
beautiful work...so pretty. Very impressed with your sculpture as well as your cast...so beautiful and detailed. I can't wait to see her in all her glory ^^!
You did some amazing work on the face sculpting! I love the way her expresion changes whan the head moves; she looks amused when looking straight forward, and thoughtful or pensive when her head is lifted up...
Thank you everyone for your comments! It's wonderfull to hear so many like her *^^* I'm going to finish casting all the parts in September, since I'm leaving to Tokyo for a month, but after that I'll finish her. I made a quick face up for her before I'll leave, just to see how she might look. This isn't the best face up for her, I need to experiment more to see what suits her. But here is the first try:
waaaaaahhhhh so adorable!!!!!!! youre so talented!!! cant wait to see her full body! are you planning on making more of her ever?
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO that looks like something from a big company!!! Gorgeous!! How tall is she again? *squeeeeeeeeee*
She is extremely beautiful!I think the face up works well for her,any face up will work well for such a beautiful sculpt. You are very talented.
OMGGG she is sooo precious!!! Wonderful job on the faceup! I can't wait to see the rest of her casted.
wow she's turning out really good. ~if you ever sell her mold and she's not to expensive (<-free faceup commissions ate my dolly funds D i would be happy to give one a home ;3 Btw.. what material did you exactly used to make her rough sculpt. I'm planning on making a doll out of milliput. -->Just because i know i can't cast even if my life depended on it T_T But I'm still kinda looking for materials.. (big doll fair coming this way and someone told me the sell allot of make your own doll supply's)
She's really beautiful. I'm particularly impressed at how well the ears came out. I never did manage to make Robin's ears come out of a mold right. How did you make the mold so that you could get her in and out of it? Did you use a three-piece mold?
put me on the waiting/reserve list for if/when you sell some of these! she's just beautiful - and god, look at those EARS!
wow !!!!! she's beautiful !! she makes me think of different molds i like, so i can only love what you've done ! great job !!!
I love her! Her little face is perfect! I adore her eyes and mouth and nose... And the ears are very cute too!
She looks so sweet, and your sculpt is... hmm... perfect (that's all!) It looks like she's a kind of innocent mermaid or something like that, You're really talented it's amazing!
Oh dearie me she is gorgeous, I absolutely love her ears, do you have any idea when you'll be done with her? Bella
