Preordered Scraps fullset....she looks very intriguing

I love Scraps too, I am looking forward for the head to be released separately...

I found pictures the other day and I love love loooove the YoSD body. I need to get my hands on one for the character i'm shelling, its absolutely perfect. The big guy, I forget his name right now, has a really lovely face too. If only I had a character for him.

Actually all their faces are good, what am I saying XD I think i'm gonna be drooling over this company a lot.

I was wondering if these are a limited edition dolls? I really want Scraps, but need to see if I need to jump on getting right away or if I can put it off a little bit.

 

I like Scraps' face, but I kind of wish there was a non-patchwork version of the head available. I really like the overall shape of the eyes/nose/forehead, but having the patches built into the sculpt isn't for me. Still, her overall styling is super cute. I'm interested to learn more about the bodies and such from the lucky people who are getting to order!

Just wanted to say that dropped into mint on card last weekend and they had two of the YOSDs to show off. handled them a bit and the resin is good solid resin, it actually reminded me of volks the most. It had a very creamy matte texture to it with very solid construction

Unfortunately they didn't have any of the SDs to show off, but just thought I'd share what I found out about the resin for those interested :3

So how exactly is MOC involved n the company aside from a retailer? X_X that's where I'm lost.

Because we were told (when we were n store) that they selling them, and I assumed it was a normal retailer relationship as they didn't originally mention anything other than selling, and later when I was at the counter the woman was talking to someone else about "placing the patches" on Scraps.

I admit I didn't realize this when I first commented and I edited it to be more general, but are you trying to say Oscar is not a large doll..?

 

My sis has been in contact with Blossom Doll of China and now Aimerai a little. Since we saw the similarity of styles in both companies' dolls, she asked. Turns out the Chinese chief sculptor of Aimerai is the ex-sculptor of now defunct Blossom Doll. That's where the similar style derives from. You can see it in Scraps' face mold quiet clearly.
Don't know where she factors in besides selling Aimerai dolls, but maybe the MOC person only put the patches on Scraps, or made a design sketch of her...

BTW, Aimerai has found a Japanese sales agent as well. Now they are looking for an European dealership as well. Good news! I'm looking forward to it.

 

Wait - Blossom doll is defunct? Their website still seems to be working?

Hi everyone, this is Lindsey from MoC, I'm here to clear up any confusion about my role at MoC and at Aimerai. I am co-owner of Mint on Card, and I am the concept designer & co-owner of Aimerai. As concept designer I create the doll concepts and decide on the dolls scale, look, (meaning facial characteristics, make-up, clothing, etc.,), personality & background, non-clothing accessories, and so fourth. I am not a sculptor, but all sculpts have to be approved by me before they move onto casting & make-up. Aimerai currently has two very talented sculptors who are doing wonderful work, we are very lucky to have them on our team.

I apologize for any confusion about my role with Aimerai, I did note my involvement on the MoC news page on July 28th, but I did not go into any real detail.

I'm really in love with Scraps, I'm just arguing with myself on whether or not I want to get her full set, or do her up myself!

Editing to add, does anybody know if her outfit will be available separately in the future?

 

On MOC's website it says the fullset is limited to 50 total globally.

I saw that last night and went straight into FOMO state (fear of missing out) so am putting Scraps on layby RIGHT now. It will be a long layaway as I'm moving country so should be saving.

I took this photo of her at Dollism, and haven't been able to stop thinking about her since.

 

I put a fullset Scraps on layaway last night! I was going to wait until the 15th, but apparently orders will be submitted on the 13th. A little daunting, but I couldn't let her get away! She's adorable and would go so well with Frankie...

 

MoC messaged me saying my Scraps is there! Sadly I have two more payments till she comes home.

I really hope I'm home when she arrives! I might see if they'll send her to where I'm staying on weekdays...

 

I know my girl will be stuck in customs for a while so will hopefully be able to organise weekend delivery. I am super excited to see her in person again - she is amazing in real life.

Frozenrose, there is one Nick Chopper's head for sale on the marketplace and the seller state that aimerai's tan matches iplehouse special real...

Also...reading through the thread, it makes so much sense that these are sculpted by the Blossom doll sculptor! I love every one of the Blossom dolls....and these felt so similar to me!

Double post.... But so excited to say I put Scraps fullest, Scraps human head, and Glinda head on 6 month layaway at MoC. Ahhhh... Runs around in circles! I've been in love with this girl since I saw her at Dollism last year!

I decided to let Glinda go.... I've over indulged in dollies lately and have 2 heads being sent for a face up and another incoming doll to collect at Dolls Rendez-Vous in December... my friend got Scraps though so super happy for her

I have Aimerai Nick's hybrid (the body is old DZ 70). Now I'm going to sell it, but I am not sure. He is not very beautiful, but he is charming.

 

@Yauheniya , I love Nick's face! Him and Scraps (patchwork head) were my preferred Aimerai sculpts. If they had bothered with the aesthetics of the bodies a bit more, I would have bought them. I am still kicking myself for not having bought the discontinued patchwork head.

 

Lilla, thank you! I like Aimerai heads too. I agree that their bodies are not so pretty then heads...

Aimerai has released her human head.
She just hasn't the charm her fantasy head has. She is now limited and has a military costume.
Very disappointing.

 

Sooo I hope this is the right thread for discussions, but...Hi, guys! Kind of new to bjd collecting and Nick Chopper was my first big purchase when Aimerai was having their sale, (I couldn't not buy him and have him disappear when I just found out about him. D: ) Anyway, push came to shove and he arrived in November; only recently have I managed to put him all together as my character Ayden. (Still trying to figure out where to upload pictures, but in the meantime he's stuck as my avatar, lol).

In other news, I figured I'd pop in and say that Aimerai re-released both the Scraps fantasy and Oscar sculpt as a darker/ 'Great and Powerful' versions, so if you were looking to buy either they're back! Kind of wanted to buy Scraps back in the day myself, but now I'm not so sure. :\ Still, their new styling certainly is interesting.

Aimerai is proposing an Illusion version of Scraps. I like it very much!




It is a pity they haven't released non-human scraps as a head only, I would buy one in case I found a body for her.
I'd love to get her something in the lines of a Loongsoul 58cm girl body for instance.

 

Oh my goodness. She is DIVINE. I love her eye makeup!!! If only I hadn't just brought another doll..!.....

 

Aimerai customer service is really nice! I messaged about a sold out version and they had one in stock!
