Warning! Probably a horror mood runawayrunawayrunawaythere'sadevilintheschoolrunawayrunawayrunawaybehindyounowrunawayrunawayrunaway My secret is that I'm too scared to watch horror or thriller movies, but I love to create that atmosphere in my photos.
These are fantastic! I love the way you used the lighting in these photos to get the atmosphere right, and the color change in the eyes and on the books is SO cool!
I love how you always manage to create such mysterious atmosphere with your photos! Looks like being bored in class can generate very interesting stories
I love how my first reaction while scrolling from the beginning was, “What do you mean by “horror mood”? This doesn’t look scary—OH WAIT nevermind!”
@Oculae You hit the nail on the head with your first comment, I'm glad, thank you! I had my sister make resin eyeballs with UV paint for this shoot @usvankynsi I'm glad you enjoyed it. We all need a little creepiness in the summer. @cobaltconduct I realized that I like this kind of atmosphere as I kept taking pictures. Usually I just go outdoors with my dolls, but I have a studio that I like, so I set up some props and I'm very happy with how it turned out. The bustling commute to school, the boring exams, and the end of class... @nessa Hahaha, was that a good batch? I had a really hard time picking ten photos.
@saraquill Oh, yeah, those things actually helped me with my idea. There's a horror movie series in Korea called "Girls' High School Ghost Story,"(Unfortunately, I can only see the poster.) and that and the Japanese manga "Hell Girl" were good sources of inspiration.
This one! It could be a movie poster. Gorgeous photos as always and the way you used UV fluorescence is so creative. Chacotta is such a versatile actress
@lutke I've been trying to make sure at least one shot has a poster-like composition lately, so it's nice to hear that! I often think about how I'd love to have a doll with a luminol reaction in UV ink behind her smiling face, and this shoot was fun because it felt like a vicarious satisfaction of that desire. And yes, chacotta is an outstanding actress who always seems to be more than capable of handling my direction X3 I feel like a mother showing off her daughter for some reason lol.
@river_seine there's something about Mio that is both soft and sharp. I like the contrasting qualities of her face very much. I think you make the sculpt shine with the way you frame her.
@lutke You're right, Mio has a rounded and soft overall contour, but her eyes and mouth have a bit of a feline edge to them. When I requested her faceup, I asked for "a hint of a smile, along the corners of her mouth," and I think the artist did a great job of capturing that subtle charm!
@saraquill Was this a more famous movie than I thought? I think I've seen Memento Mori 2, but only because a friend of mine was with me. I don't really remember it now, but I'm not as much of a wimp as I was then, so maybe I'll give it a shot
@ZeddyBear Thank you! To achieve this atmosphere, I paid close attention to lighting both during the shoot and when editing the photos X3
@takamin Ahhh, this comment reminded me of an old horror game about a school called "Valentine's Day"! I'd love to do an homage to it someday.
Wow! I usually don't like horror movies, but this horror atmosphere is really great! I feel the story behind the photos...
