    1. So, my first "real" faceup is underway right now, but, I'm at a standstill...I wanted to go for a kinda "sickly," "dead," "zombie-like" look for my boy Callaghan, so I opted to not give him anything like eyelashes or eyeliner, and only very faint eyebrows, and I know I'm not finished just yet, but I have no idea what to do next! This is what I have so far, please critisize what I have and reccomend what I should do next!:

    2. I love what have you done so far, it looks great and i can tell it will end up awesome.

      Here comes a noob suggestion::celebrate
      What about adding extremely light grayish green into the waterline with slight ombre gray in the doll eye bags. The doll will eyes pop when you add the doll eye.

      Good luck !

    3. I found a link to a doll face up which illustrates what i meant by the gray eyebags ombre

      夏目 羽七海(なつめ はなみ) on Instagram: “新作「シュクルリ」 サイズ:68cm 衣装:Dolis様 瞼をリボンで縫われ、小指から翼が生えた退廃的少女です。 菫の砂糖漬けとミルクティーが大好き。 7月7日から板橋のドルスバラード(ぼらん・どぉる)様で開催される「夏の日の乙女たち」展に出品致します。”

    4. It's a good start and I think that the face-up needs more layers of sealant and pastel blushing to make the colours and shadows stand out to look more finished.

      I also find using reference pictures while doing face-ups is really helpful.

    5. Your blending is looking really smooth! I think when trying to get a dead look it would good to maybe add a bit of blues or purples? Normally people have fairly warm undertones in their skin due to blood showing through, like when you're blushing for example. So using cooler colors around the eye or around the lips like you did should convey that kind of dead look:)(Remember zombies or undead people aren't going to have blood circulating under the skin, so I would avoid using much red or pink on the skin). You can add some cool greys, greens, blues for a cold dead look, especially where you'd add shading to really give a sunken in look to the eyes and cheekbones. Of course it's also up to what looks good to you color wise:) definitely keep layering and really strengthening your colors, you've got a good start:)

    6. I think deepening the colors would help, covering the healthy base color with more sickly hues. Otherwise it looks great so far!!

    7. If I was going to do a 'dead' or zombie ish faceup I might give the eyes black and blue bruises around the eye sockets to make them look sunken (a la Tim Burton) but that might be a bit of a drastic aesthetic

    8. It's currently fairly light, I'm going to agree with others before me and say more pigment layers, darker around eyes seems like a good option too... good luck with your boy :thumbup
