Yay! Congrats Caidanbi! I (and probably everyone else too ^^) can't wait to see her!

And *hugs* to everyone still waiting. It should be soon. 5-6 weeks is the longest I've heard of for Dollmore.

Aww! I love seeing Gretchen every way that you photograph her. It's interesting to see her in a very gothic and sumptuous set.

 

Chizzie_Shark : Oh my gosh , she is just beautiful !! When I saw Ramie in the Dollmore page I thought she was ok but nothing special but now in your photo she is different , I love her.
You really have to send more pictures of her . I love her Oriental features but she still has that Zaoll mouth .
Now you have just given me another headache as I am still deciding if I should get a Luv or Dreaming and now Ramie is on the list too.....LOL !!

I do not know why I'm having so much difficulty getting his faceup done :/
Its the pink hair.... must be that XD

I found out what was wrong though.... I kept sealing the head outside and its about maybe 5°c most of the time so the sealant doesn't dries the way it should XP

I'll take some pictures before wiping him off this time so I'm not only saying its horrible and at least show some of it xD

Thanks, everyone! I am so looking forward to seeing her in person!!! I just tracked her, but the post office hasn't updated since yesterday *sigh* I was hoping she'd be in customs today... Oh well, she'll definitely come some time this week, so I guess that's ok ^-^

You can actually get a mild frosting effect if it's too cold when you're selling or too damp/cold. It's mildly annoying to have to time your sealing, but it tends to be what I do now.

How exciting! She's almost home! I am really interested to see how she will be done up.

Masala, I'm really excited to see it too! I've found they never look quite like their pics online, even if you get the same faceup - I requested a slight variation on her default one, because basically I like it. But still, you never know how things will turn out.

Seiorai, LOL I don't have to raid customs now, she left at 8am today ^-^ So chances are good that she will come tomorrow morning, I'll have to get up early (for me), just in case

My girl's face is at the artist's getting a custom face up and I'm missing her horribly =*(

 

Thanks! She arrived this morning, so I will post pics a little later... I can't imagine sending any of my girls out for anything! Had to leave one at the doll hospital once to get the ball joint in her foot fixed, and I missed her so much!

 

My second Zaoll (muse) arrived this morning But I don't know how to string her yet, will get that info XD So Happy that I have a sister for my Zaoll luv now

As for the eyeliner.... I just went berserk when the sealant did not dry the way it should and knew I'd do it over anyway xD

This head seems to be the only one that does not want to be done xD
I did 5 other face-ups at the same time and the others were ok :B

Chibi_Fluffy, I hate it how sometimes one model/doll will choose to give you a hard time =/ Good luck with the next time, I can't wait to see pictures. I'm too scared to try so you're several steps ahead of me on that =)

This isn't really the way I was wanting to dress her, but out of all the things I've tried on her so far it fit the best...

 

Caidanbi -- Even if this isn't the way you intended to dress her, I think she looks amazing! Absolutely beautiful.

My Luv is stateside! Just a hop skip and a wait through customs! I'm going to make her try on every item of clothing I bought her! Pictures if I have enough time and her face looks okay. It's kind of an extreme faceup, so it may not look too hot, we'll see. ^^;

chibi: she looks like a Visual Kay guy I bet you need a small strokes pencil, don't push on it but caress your doll with a pencil, try to "almost" touch her and I think you can make lovely face-ups! I love the idea of your Luv face-up, mine is waaay to natural XD

Yeah, she does look a little like that, now that you mention it... I got that outfit from Dollmore a while back for my Mini Fee girls, but they are just swallowed up by it. It fits her perfectly, though ^-^

Stef su . Lovely pics. What's wrong with the wigs ? I think they look lovely, especially of Tangerine although you can't see it too well. Is it short ? I love short and curly hair.

I'm having a good day as well, I just got an email from the artist that has Damane's face and it's done (I think) and sooo perfect



I don't think I've ever been so anxious about anything lol, I was literally checking my email every hour I also got the news that Damane's eyes shipped from Safrin doll so they should get here right around the same time, *fingers crossed*

Seeins as she's french resin, and she's a project, I wanted to know if anyone here can tell me if french resin is sandable and such. And if it feels any different than normal resin. The only difference I know of is that it yellows way faster and that it looks a bit luminiscent or something.

I think the only difference is the one you pointed out.... I really do not see why it would not be sandable =3

Snow -- Congrats! She looks lovely! About French resin...I would say try to lighten the French resin first as it has better effects than simply sanding. Yellowed urethane responds better to sanding because the yellowing doesn't penetrate too deeply. Whereas, with French resin, it tends to yellow more deeply due to the nature and translucency of the resin. Additionally, be really careful with sanding (use only very fine grade sand paper) French resin because the translucency tends to make the sanding marks more apparent than it would be on urethane resin.

 

Thanks! ^^ I ordered her wig from Spite and Malice back when I originally ordered her. It's one of their highlight wigs. To style you just brush the wig with a comb or something to soften it, then brush the colored bangs straight down and cut most of them short, except for on the sides of the face. Spite and Malice wigs are reasonably priced and stay on really well. They're also hand made, but do stain a little if left on for longer periods of time.

Thanks everybody for the comments! I'm very pleased with how Dollmore did the faceup. It looks almost exactly like the mockup I sent.
