Hi and welcome back everyone. Sorry for a perhaps stupid question, but is the event discussion subforum gone for good? I tried to look up the Dolpa 28 thread, but couldn't locate it

Blerg! I asked over at the General chat about Yu Morisawa's sale... I are idjit!

Anyway- I love Yu so much! I made wallpaper of her company pics! But her price is...well, it is what it is with the dollar being so crappy...

But I just love everything about her! I hope Volks USA offers her! I don't know why. It doesn't help me one bit...

 

Whoa, I lost my subscription to this thread too! There's always a little tidying-up to do after a shuffle.

I have an embarrassing amount of backlogged pictures of Yuki, and we were only offline for a week. I think he and his vanity are happy to have the Galleries back up and running again. ^^ This one is from my first time ever taking a photoshoot with artificial light, and I think Yuki made a fine subject.... That Masamune Date default faceup really stands up to harsh halogen lighting (and tons of PhotoShop)! What an excellent amount of eyeshadow those Volks folks gave him.

Just got a first set of WIP pics from the artist doing my F38's faceup. *u* So happy!! I can't wait for him to be home!!


He'll be darker-haired, but this is the general look he'll have. 8D

I have a question for SDGou Yukiinojou owners^^; which size of ED eyes will fit him?

Yukinojo wears 16mms. Maybe he could get away with some 14mms; I've never tried it myself. His eyesockets are pretty big & round.
(I like the dewy-eyed look on a muscleman. )

 

^ I second this... My Yukinojo is wearing 14mm Ginarolo eyes right now. I have beveled his eyewells though, because I just do that to all my dolls :P

 

JennyNemesis - Love Yuki in this modern sleek back ground.

kiradyn_rhiode - That looks like a gorgeous face up already. The F38 sculpt is one of my fav FC head.

Hi!!! did any of you guys have Switch new SD girl body and Volks head hybrid?? I wish to see if the resin match or not as I heard that the Switch normal skin is way more lighter than Volks.

Thank you! ^^ It was lovely seeing you and your boys in person~ Perhaps try looser-fitting SD16 dresses? Sadly a lot of SD16 clothes are quite fitted so I can see why it makes that hard to find suitable ones for poor Emma.

JennyNemesis I have to agree about the faceup! Recent Volks faceups look very nice to me, especially Masamune and Shirou's for the boys.

kiradyn_rhiode He already looks so mischievous! That F38 smirk is why this FCS scupt is one of my faves.

aznbutterfly Rio looks amazing in that photo, with the warm honey-gold of the surroundings. That little chandelier would look great in a doll setup, methinks.

Edit: Clovers Oops, missed seeing your question! I've heard that the newest batch of Switch resin is lighter and pinker than Volks. I can't help with any photo comparisons, but perhaps go over to the Switch thread and ask? I recall quite a few people having the latest batch, the ones with the new Humming Dolly bodies.

It's pinker than Volks unfortunately....
Will find time to take comparison photos later.

Somebody here has an oldskin pre-headplate Syo right? I'm sorry I don't remember your username, but if you see this could you do me a favour?

Could you please post pics of the inside of your boy's head?

I just adopted an oldskin Syo from Mandarake, and was shocked that he had no headplate (not even the indentation for one). The markings in his head look clear to me, even his teeth look pretty well defined, but I just want to be sure that he really is just a very old Syo and not a knockoff.

 

Mandarake doesn't sell recasts, and they have doll experts over there, so please calm down. ^^ I'm sure he's an old Syo that was released before 2002(?) but maybe others can help me more on the year...

Has anyone tried planting a School A head on a Graffiti girl body? I was wondering if it looked a tad bobble headed? I have my beautiful SWD School A and I am hoping to work on "him" in the new year. But sometimes I wonder if he wants to be a girl

 

Hey guys, I hope this is the right place to ask - I need some measurement help; can anyone with an SDGr girl body provide me with the width of the shoulders, please? D:

 

I haven't tried but given the size of the School A, (it looks big on everything) I would imagine it would be a bit bobble. I also am interested in seeing photos!

Well. I've seen School A on SD16 girl body. The proportion is great!

 

I'm not sure which width exactly you were looking for, so I did two measurements. From the front only, shoulder-to-shoulder is about 4.5 inches, wrapping the measuring tape all the way around her shoulders (front and back) is about 10.7 inches.

 

I'm pretty sure it would look super bobble headed, but hey some people like bobble head dolly and you might not mind as much when it's clothed.

Personally though, I hope Volks would come out a taller girl body, cause even on SD16, Anemone stills looks a bit disproportionate from certain angle (to me that is).

Yes, I suspected as much with the School A. I think I might just keep the head on my SDgr Boy. It seems to work just fine on that body. I suspect that I will eventually get an SDgr girl, so I can give it a go. Now I just need to find the time to paint him and get the character all together. Moving to LA is getting in the way of all my dolly plans.

Thanks I was pretty sure he wasn't a recast to begin with, but just wanted to be absolute. I didn't know they staff experts there to ID dolls before they sell them, that's pretty cool.

Yeah I know the first few years he was made they didn't have headplates. That's why I wanted to see the marks inside the head. Particularly the headcap because one of the numbers etched in my boy looks odd, and I didn't know if that was just something they did back then.
