I'm really enjoying everyone's Taes! ♥ They're all so pretty!

 

My F-01 is whole again! I got her body back from a friend, it was away for over half a year. :'D

With some random clothing Komugi is so cute, no faceup but soon! I'm thinking of lots of freckles.

Oh thank you Nell! I was actually surprised at how detailed this Bianka is! I will totally take better pics of her face-up. I also have Lieselotte's wig coming and I am looking forward to trying it on her. It's probably the wrong look for her but there's no harm in trying.

MilkyTea, I love your Mikuru so much! I had entered for her as well and I am thrilled she has come home to you. She looks so perfect with your family and every bit of her is lovely! She's so sweet. Congratulations!

Okay, my boy arrived yesterday, amidst the vans for the plumber and electrician! We had to get part of our house rewired, and our old rusted-out water heater replaced with a new electric one.
It was a heck of a day, and I didn't get much chance to play with him until today.
Much like Brightfires chasing Alain, I have wanted a Joe for years. The opportunity and money never quite lining up.
I think I'll still aim for an old Joe, but this guy is quite nice!

I love seeing all of the one-offs (and the Taes; they are very pretty!). Although I didn't win in the lottery, I'm happy for all of you who did. I hope that the person who won the Shiro T. posts pix as well.

My two Volks boys no longer have to share a body. I got a great deal in the marketplace for an SD13 long-legged body, so I can finally post a pic of Rogerian (Lucas) and Aurelius (Shiro) together. Here's a quick pic I took today in front of the late-blooming lilac bush.

Did anyone win a Shizu?? Poor thing, she didn't seem that popular. I think it was her wig and faceup, a little heavy on the top that might have turned people off.

Jennynemesis, I have a question about your dollmore model feet, if that is okay! They look like they fit really well on the SD13, but would you say they are possibly a tad small, or are they a perfect fit? I'm about to put in an order for them, but I wanted to make sure


Now, I'm hoping someone can help me out with something else.....
I'm wondering about the new white SDM byakuren that is going to be sold @ Tenshi no Sato on the 28-29th. After staring at pictures, and debating with myself over and over, I feel like I really want her ;_; How do people here go upon obtaining dolls that are only sold at special events? Is second-hand/ yahoo auctions our only option? Or does Volks do a lottery for them after the event is over?
I'm trying to find someone in kyoto that will help me get one, but so far, no luck!

 

I did! I actually opened her before I did my Tae but I'm having trouble locating the wig I bought for her. I have put her on an SD16 body as I wanted her tall and leggy. She's going to be sister to a Ryoma and a Saitou and aunt to a Reisner, a SchD and a DWC-02. I just love the way you can build related-looking groups with Volks.

 

Volks did make her look a little bobble-headed in their pictures, although I think her faceup is lovely!
I think they did a really good job in bringing out her luscious lips

Putting her on an SD16 sounds like a good idea - looking forward to seeing her with the relatives!

 

Hiya does anyone know how long it takes for Volks to restock their SD girls? I'm in the UK and their international website is really confusing lol Coco is gorgeous and would really love to finally own a Volks girl of my own thanks x

 

SDM Byakuren is made specifically and exclusively for Tenshi no Sato so the only ways to get it, is to get it at the event itself or YJ. They are not available through other stores or an after online event. Sometimes you can go to the event and the dolls will run out before you get one. And sometimes there will be leftovers so people who didn't make it to the event can still go to Tenshi no Sato and get one. Depends on how popular the doll is and how many they make. I believe there is also a lottery when you get to Tenshi no Sato for a place in line. I think they are trying to discourage people camping out all night for a place in line. Also you need to have a Volks VS/VIP card to get in the door. Your best bet would be to try and find someone going to the event or to watch for it on YJ afterwards. Good luck!

Hard to say. I would guess soon because she is being released on Volks USA website in July. I imagine they will restock on the International site sometime before or around the same time as putting them on the Volks USA website. Good luck!

Well, the ankle-ball isn't a good fit, [and is the wrong shape], but I think the size of the feet is perfect. They're long and narrow, and proportionate with SD13's hands.

Yuki is rarely ever seen without boots on, because of the ankle situation-- so here is a rare snapshot of what the feet actually look like in relation to the rest of him.
(I think they make him look like one of those Soom Fairy guys, which is excellent.)

My Tae arrived, but I haven't managed to get any photos of her yet (she still needs to get dressed and find the perfect eyes, which means prying the existing ones out), so here's a shot of Regina, looking like she owns the place, as usual

Tae is just gorgeous -- love the face-up, the eyes are actually gorgeous (I just want to try out some urethanes, or at least re-position the glass eyes), the wig is lovely, and I'm already crazy about the SDGrG body!

Hope to get a chance to play with her this weekend, and there will definitely be pictures, if so!

I'm also excitedly awaiting an incoming package from Noppin -- I managed to snag an inexpensive somewhat-yellowed Isao body, which should hopefully be a good match to Moth's (SD13 Okita) head. He's been on a girl body all this time (just crossdressing in slightly-too-big boy clothes), so having an SD13-sized body is going to be AWESOME. I'm going to give the body the OxyClean treatment, which may lift a little of the discoloration . . . and, if not, he usually wears long sleeves anyway. I'm just going to be happy about his clothes finally fitting properly!

In the package is also the default Tae shrine-maiden outfit, and a modded SwD Tae head (blank) . . . so I'm looking forward to seeing how the SDGrG body looks in the hakama/haori. The modded head may need some work -- hard to tell from the Y!J photos -- before it's paint-able, but it's going to be nice to have Anais/Tae triplets! And since I found the boy body for Moth, that means that SwD Tae can go on the now-extra SD10 body ^___^

I think I'm able to join this thread since I'm waiting my first Volks doll (I just joined the Volks waiting room).
As soon as she arrives, I will introduce you my dream doll.

I originally fell in love with Anais, but I was never able to afford one.
Now that volks released a new version of Tae, a friend helped me to buy her.

I am really excited because she's my first volks doll, my first SD sized doll and my first "new doll".
My other BJDs were second-hand dolls when I bought them.

I also would like to buy, someday, a SDGr Jun Tachibana (and if I'm very lucky [and rich], the fullset).
But that's for the future... I hope we get along!

 

Congratulations! That is so exciting!! She is one of the most beautiful Volks dolls I have ever seen. Please post many pictures of her when she arrives.

Oh, those edges are locks-- they keep the foot locked in a flexed or pointed position, so they're helpful if you want him to stand up. ^^ Good luck! I can't wait to see your boy wearing them.

Glad to help! I think a lot of people are in the same boat as you. Anxious for those standards to re-release! They offered a pre-sale in Japan before they were released and then had line ups at the store on the day they were released too. My guess is that everyone fell in love with those new standard girls and decided they had to have one. I think Volks is playing major catch up with all the events from the last month or so like Dolpa 31 and the re-opening of Tenshi no Sato. I'm sure those ladies will make an appearance soon.

Ahhh, loving all the gorgeousness...and adding my Anais (called, ahem, Anais! ) here with her brother Michael and sister Georgie who live at the turn of the 19th century. Anais is 10, and I think she works as that age which shows the versatility of Volks to a tee! The sculpt can look like an adult, a young woman or a little girl...

Just made arrangements today for TAE to come home ! I know we've seen quite a few photos of her in this thread (which is what convinced me I need her!), but MORE TAE SPAM would be most delightful !

 

I caved and made my first Volks USA order on the new site~ I guess after nine years, my girl deserves new string! I'll be sanding her for the first time too, and probably removing her default faceup, then sealing her with the new UV-cut spray. Has anyone done a "spa" like this for their SD-size doll? If so, about how long did it take you? I want to know if I need to set aside a few hours or a whole weekend, or longer. >w<;

 

They're all white skin, and small bust! Though SwD Una has the origin torso - that's the body my Lieselotte, Bee, is on.


For the voting, I was mostly interested in the SHOES! I voted on my separate devices for some of the SD16 boots & heels, and the cute ruffled booties for SD/13. For the Tenshi, even though I already have my own Yugiri and Sakaki boys, I went ahead and voted for both of them, and one of the Unas! Though I still wonder if Volks will ever make a Sweet Dream Sakaki for actual sale, like the OOAK boy that's on the cover of the Another Yourself photobook!

 

I've done this to my girl, but I also included sueding and a full body blush. It took me an entire weekend. Good luck!

Oh, sueding might be a good idea, while I'm at it. What kind of sueding did you do - hot glue, pliver, or a different method?

I do the traditional pliver method for sueding. It lasts a really long time! But it's not waterproof, so if your doll takes an accidental dunk in a fountain (It happened to me)
Then the glue will come off.
