[Adopted] Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XI

This will be my first time putting in for a Volks One-Off lottery. I'm sure I won't win and don't expect to. But believe me, I would be very happy!! I'm curious to know what happens to a winner who does not pay? What happens then? Do they pick another number?

 

Well I don't know what possessed me, but I just put in a lottery for Lieselotte. She was just too freaking cute! Good luck to all the entries! I feel like the 10th needs to come by now heh. Though I really can't wait till the new standards go on sale too. Or even more pictures!

I'm just about to cry. I can't enter the lottery because I live in Europe and there's TWO dolls I really really want. We need a Volks store of our own too! ;___;

 

I can't be sure about this one, but my SDGr Kaelin came with both elf and human ears.

If I had the money I'd try for Michele, but I really can't afford it right now. Good luck to everyone who's trying!

 

I don't know much about Volks lottery system, but me and my friend entered three lottery entry for Hajime Saitou and it's all failed Looks like it's all based on your luck then? I still can get him from Y!Japan though This is my first time falling in love with a Volks sculpt, they're all gorgeous but never make me wants to buy one just like him. He's on Soom SD17 body, looks good but I think he can use a taller one.

 

omg, he's just so gorgeous! I'm really going to have to hunt him down ~_~;;; I'm torn with the lottery... I may try for Michele and Nana, but I would love to get the sdgr cecile and a few others. It's one thing though to put in lottery for a doll that there is a few of, and for a doll that there is only one of... What I'm really waiting for is the store to just open up in general and get some new outfits

 

I've managed to snag limited dolls in Volks lotteries exactly twice, and I'm pretty sure I was only successful in both of those cases (my Amakusa, Hideo, and the Hasekura I ended up not keeping-) because the sculpts were about as popular as a case of the mumps. Every other lottery I've entered... and there have been a fair few over the years... has ended in failure.

Given that kind of luck, my odds of getting one of these one-offs? Absolutely zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada.

But I'm probably going to try for that Alain, anyway.

Hope springs eternal, I guess.

 

That's the kicker! I've won lotteries for LEs a whole buncha times, both popular + unpopular dolls-- but I've never entered for a one-off except at NY Dolpa (didn't win anyway even with the tiny customer-base ^^). I can imagine the competition is just that much fiercer, but it's still just like any other lottery in that it all depends on your luck that day. : Anything can happen.

I do not need any of those one-offs, which is good because the house is full. (If they happened to have a Yo-SD Shiro, however, that'd have to be another story...)

 

this is true.. so i'm trying my luck anyway. I just wish they would have told us sooner they were going to do it so I could have made sure to have the money xD but I dunno... I don't -need- any of them either, but I always wanted to get my white skinned sleeping nana back that i sold so long ago, so here's my chance~ tho michele is still calling me... I want the cecile as well, but having two f-17s, i dunno if I can really justify him, but his fullset is gorgeous! miruku is so tempting too... it's one of those.. i wasn't impressed with the sculpt before, but seeing her in a new light kinda deal. i'm a little unimpressed with the sdmidi crew, though i do love hewitt, i'm not keen on his fullset.

The Kaelin girl is so cute with the winged ears. I don't have any ears in that style yet. I don't think I'm tempted enough to put in for her though ...

 

I'm more excited about the new standard dolls honestly lol.

The one-offs are all gorgeous but id feel so horrible if/when i changed them xD

I'm excited to see the standards too... are they going to be released when the website opens up fully? I honestly thought they would announce more standards by now ~_~ oh well..

 

Good Luck everyone!! I finally got registered last night, but have no clue if I'm entered for a doll or not. I got absolutely no feedback on that part of the process..../sigh!!

Added: I wasn't sure to just leave it in the cart, or to proceed.... Gosh, they should tell us something at the end of the whole.... process.

 

Well, I got a new Volks account last night but I doubt I'll be entering. No funds! Though it probably wouldn't matter if I DID enter since I wouldn't win.

 

If I had the money I would totally try for the Kohya girl. I've wanted a Tohya/Koyha SD16 girl for yeeeears, but just can't afford the pricetag that comes with that body. :\ She's so pretty though.

 

I felt exactly the same way--and then I dug around in the "My Account" section, where I did find a record of my lottery entry, whew! (Not that I'm going to win, mind you, but it's a fun distraction from work.)

Well, maybe in three years when I go to Tenshi-no-Sato - maybe they'll have some you can enter for and maybe I'll like one and then, maybe, I'll get lucky ... I guess I've been lucky with my first (and so far only) lottery doll. Not many people seem to have wanted those two Devilman Yo-Midis. They're still available for sale on the Volks International website ...

I have a One-off Lucas and was lucky enough to get Masha when the store closed, so all I can do is wish good luck to everyone entering...

Hopefully it can be someone on here, and then we can see these lovely dolls again...

Rather or not I have any luck with Alain, at least I did managed to wrangle this fellow away from the PO this afternoon... It was a bit of an adventure. When I handed them the missed delivery ticket, at first they couldn't find him! Apparently someone had just stuck him on the wrong shelf, but it took searching the whole back room of the post office to discover that. o_0

Anyway, he's a second attempt at one of the oldest Turtle House characters; Crow, the white phoenix god-beast.
Version 1 was a BW Vampire Elf El, who I was never very happy with and sold on in 2009. Version 2 is an F-31 with short elf ears. I think I'm going to get along with him a whole lot better.



That wig is going to drive me crazy, though. It's a rat's nest of a thing from Monique... I put it on him in a vain attempt to avoid having to dig out the original Crow's long white Luts wig, but the fly-aways are already making me want to shave him bald.

Thank you, Cynthia in FlintHills. Gosh, I just want a chance to win, not that I will.....lol. I always meant to go to the store in CA, but never did. Even my one son made it to the store. I really am sad to see them pull up stakes and not have the a place/ showroom here. But, it is a sign of the times, I guess. On the up side, now I'll have to just make a time to go to Japan with family in tow....lol. Thank you again.

Sooo I'm a little late to the discussion but ... oh my 20 one offs is a lot! I have to admit I'm not really wow-ed by any of their outfits except for the Japanese styled ones. Although I'm kind of torn... I like Lorina's outfit and faceup better, but I like the fact that Alice is white skin! Miruku is really cute with that eye color/wig combination, and the length of Bianka's wig is kind of amazing XD. I think if I were to go for any of them it'd be SwD Nana ^.^ she's sooooooo lovely. But I don't need twins! I already have a house full of four sisters ._. ;!!

speaking of which~ I wanted to share my girl I just finished face-upping... after a 3 year hiatus ^-^;

@Lyrajean, is that a PureDrop outfit on your regal Tony? How wonderful! That outfit just keeps going & going. I remember them selling ones almost like that at NY Dolpa... I asked the girls to demonstrate on their model how to put it on & take it off, because it had so many pieces I would never have figured it out without guidance. I'm usually so good at puzzles. ;;

@Brightfires, your boy is absolutely smashing! I can see where this would be the face to inherit a character originally belonging to an El. Give the wig a little soak in liquid fabric-softener... works like a charm on the notorious flyaways of a fresh-out-of-the-box Monique. (And remember to use unscented, unless you want your doll to reek like April Fresh for a month.)

 

Brightfires, your F31 boy is stunning! And Turynn, wow, your girl is gorgeous and your faceup on her is masterful!!

I registered and got my confirmation for that, but so far, not tempted into entering a one-off lottery!
