Yeah, but unfortunately I won't have the funds for awhile. ;-; I want to try and see if I can get him straight from SWITCH. And hopefully nab two heads while I'm at it.

 

@Selenae oh no! I'm sorry dear. I understand what you mean though, the prices will be more affordable most likely straight from the company. You'll be getting two, how exciting! Twins?

 

I had done the riddle but by the time I had, the hands which are what I would've wanted most, were gone XD I hadn't known it was something that we had to do fast to get them..and I had only seen the teaser and didn't even realize it was tied to that riddle game. Oh well..I hope they have them again and I wish they'd have options like that all the time.

I took some pics of my Sohwa, Rune, yesterday in his new wig.

 

I had really only wanted the hand pieces too, but they were sold out by the time I had seen and solved the riddles.

Though the fact that they were offering ALL those other heads for sale? I was soooo tempted. But luckily since I don't have a spare body laying around, I was able to talk myself down lol

 

Same here. I did manage to get the hands because I solved the puzzle a few days ago but I was already too late for the wigs (the color I wanted was already sold out back then)

 

I must be dense, I think I missed the whole riddle and puzzle thing.

Yes, I'm going after two. Not twins, though. Too much doll! xD I'm working on a new character who I want to have two heads for. But if I can't get Aejong, then I want to try going after Sohwa or Taeheo instead. :'D

 

So I've had lots of problems with my Waseon. I couldn't get his character right. No matter the wig or eyes they were all saying the same thing, nope, nope and NOPE. I've had him for a bit now and it was starting to depress me this beautiful doll which I was failing at. But now I'm pretty sure I have the character he was meant to be! It's been a longgg road!

 

Ooh I love the brown tones in his faceup! What gorgeous colors. I think that wig color matches it well, too!

 

Hello everyone. I'm a first time poster, long time stalker of this thread Switch has been my favorite company pretty much since I first found out about bjds five years ago, I've been researching all this time and I was lucky enough to get a switch Seojin when they were released in September as my first doll. He's on a gem of doll 1/3 boy body and his name is Mordekai.



I'm really glad to finally have a doa account and be able to talk to other bjd (and specifically switch) enthusiasts

Aa;;; Hey, guys. I've been stalking this thread for a while, but I wanted to wait until my boy arrived before I posted him! I hope that he's okay-- I've modeled him after a xerneas gijinka (I know, I'm a nerd) OC that I ended up really loving as a character. I'm gonna make another gijinka, a kyogre, but he's no Switch doll so;;;;

Anyway, here's Aleixo (he's not done yet, but I was hoping to share regardless)!

Can someone help me a litte? I've seen switch heads work quite well on April Story bodies, but which body is it: April story senior normal or aprill story elder normal? And does the april story body "generation" matter how well the switch resin matches to it? Such as switch 2016 head on 3rd generation april story body?
I'm really trying to do this right so I won't have another mess up

 

@ShaySugar I thought that people had the April Story Senior boy body, I had one briefly to try to use for another doll, but unfortunately didn't like it nearly as much as I like Switch's own bodies, but other people love it, maybe it was just that mine was old ^_^ Good luck!!!

 

Did you have the third generation body when you tried aprilstory?
And may I ask which switch body do you use for your boy

 

@ShaySugar I had bought an AprilStory senior 65cm body from someone on a facebook group a couple of months ago
and I was going to either use it for an IOS head I have, or a Feeple60 one if it had looked ok. The body was too big for one and too small for the other XD and there was something off on one of the legs that the resin seemed pointy, but that may have been something that happened due to the previous owner I'm not sure, or maybe it's been fixed in newer ones. I forget how old this body was. I also did not like the feet XD
I have a Switch body for my Soseo & Sohwa I did have my Soseo on a Fairyland Feeple65 body for a while though and I did like it, but the body I had was too muscular for the character.

 

@Ravenwolf Oh, very interesting thanks a lot for this experience info! And the bodies that your sohwa and soseo use are the same type of switch body? Is it called senior body too? I'm not sure how many types of bodies switch has this might be easier if I didn't have to search MP for the correct body but instead buy a body directly from Switch or April story, haha.

 

@ShaySugar The Switch bodies I have are the 65cm type. I believe they have a 60cm and a 65cm type and also a new body that is just some improvements on the 65cm type. I have the original style 65.

 

Since we're talking about bodies, I hope it's ok for me to ask a quick question! I just got my first Switch head and I was originally planning on putting him on a SDGr body but compared to my Volks dolls, he's much pinker. My newest Volks doll is three years old though, so could that be the reason? Does anyone know if Switch NS would match the newer Volks NS? If not, what other alternatives would work? I was looking at Little Monica since their resin is on the pinker side but I couldn't find a comparison. I want a body that's about 62-63 cm. Thanks in advance!!

 

@purplepaws: I wanted to buy an attractive body to my Soseo but he is from 2012 and its resin is more yellowish than the newer Switch. That said I have the same problem, the new body will be too pink.
New Switch resin is more pink, I would look at LittleMonica, Iplehouse, Dollshe and the company with similar resine for a better match.
What is the head is it ? Which year ?

 

@purplepaws No Volks normal skin body that I've ever seen including the one I own looked pinkish to me. So, I don't think it'll match Volks normal.

@Sjota It always saddens me a bit when companys resin color changes a bit. I know it's not always there fault and stuff happens. But it sure can make body and head matching so much more difficult, when you have to try and figure out what year your head is from and what year your body is from, and seeing if they were the years X companies resins matched. :P

 

@Sjota I've seen older Switch heads on Volks bodies and they looked good so I was surprised when I received mine. He's a Seolrok Holy Ver. that was released earlier this year. Here's a comparison photo between my 2013 Volks and Switch:

Switch resin looks more pink than the Volks NS. I'm guessing maybe because my Volks head has yellowed a bit and a newer body would actually match the head better. But SDGr bodies are pricey so I didn't want to buy one just to end up being disappointed with the match. I've been trying to find comparison photos between Little Monica and Switch but no luck so far.

@Cloudedmind Do you know what year the body is made? Since my Switch head is more pink, do you think there's a chance it might match?

 

@purplepaws I have a switch boy from late 2015 and I'm receiving a little Monica head in July, when it comes would you like me to do a comparison?

@purplepaws Yes my Switch boys fit Volks perfectly but that was 2013/2014 resin. I see their resin has changed but I also know that Luts is a bit pink. Maybe you could ask for a newer Switch and Luts match too? I also might ask them what happened to the HD60 body as it's not an option this month nor was it last month either. Maybe they're renewing it too?

 

@purplepaws I originally had gotten an SDGr body for my Soseo and then when I got his head, the body matched, but it just looked off proportion wise to me. I guess some of the smaller Switch heads would be better for that body. I forget what year my Soseo is but I guess he's not quite as pink as the new since he matched ok? He's definitely not yellow though either.

 

@Ravenwolf Oh, thank you for the info. Do you remember what year the head was released in? Or the body? Seolrok has a smaller head than my SD17 boys so I'm hoping he won't look too weird on a SDGr body. I'm just worried about the color match.

@AnnoDomini Thank you for letting me know. I'll definitely look into Luts. I've completely forgotten that their resin color is on the pinker side too. As much as I like the bodies Switch offer, HD60 is too short for what I have in mind for Seolrok. I wanted a body that would be between a SD and a SD17, so about 62-63cm. SDGr would be the perfect body if the colors matched.

 

Switch is selling bodies and I have money by a miracle. I should get that atractive body now since its my chance finally
Would you guys say that the body would match fine with my soseo head that was made 2016 January? I just hope switch hasn't changed their resin tones that quickly, lol.

 

This is a shame to read about the new resin. I was hoping for a WS match for Volks head but it seems the "Rose White" is the new color now for white? I know they had a 'White' in the past. I guess they are phasing that out now they are making their own bodies more? I guess I should be looking at Little Monica now? Their WS/NS used to be a near perfect match, or at least close enough for me.

 

^ sorry to hear that. It sucks when company cannot be consistent with the resin colors, or makes a new one and can't offer the old one.

Also I just spent an hour looking at the attractive body and the regular HD65... are their necks different?? Either they are, or I've been looking at them for too long. I just really need to decide what I buy and I need a perfect slim neck, lol. Anybody have knowledge on the bodies' difference? Or even a hunch?

 

@ShaySugar : Now you mention it I find as well the neck different, or I´ve been looking at it too long too xD.
Anyway I made this picture below to see a bit the changes :



To my eyes it seems the bigest changes are at the stomach, it´s better sculpted, more natural I think. Same goes for the back and the legs seems thiner. As for the neck I find it shorter ? But that might be because of the different mold and how the head is positioned.

 

@purplepaws I just looked and my Soseo head is from 2011. I didn't realize he was that old..the body he is on now though is Switch and it was made in 2014 or 15 and it looks like a good match though the seller said the head was yellowed. I wonder if maybe a lot was on the sealant, because I did have his face-up re-done. I also looked it up and the SDGr body I'd had briefly was from 2010 Hope that helps!!! Haha, so we both sure saw something with the neck it does seem shorter but indeed could be illusion caused by head position or the sculpt. .. I sent switch a question about it. Not sure if they'll understand it but I hope for an answer soon. Thanks for making that comparison image btw

Edit; darn it's almost 5th. I don't know if I've got time to wait for the reply. I guess I should just order the attractive body now and deal with what ever it is.

 

Sorry for double post, but ugh! I'm trying to order the Monthly boy body 65 but the 'buy now' or 'add to cart' do not work at all. It's like they forgot to link them to the java script. I thought Switch would fix it now since its Monday working day there, but no...
The buttons of the Attractive body work fine though. .. I guess this is some twisted faith telling me to go with it instead huh...
