[Adopted] SWITCH Discussion ~ Part VI

Taeheo was rereleased last Sept 2014 for Switch's Rabbit's Rosy Thanksgiving, although he did pop up on Faithz fairly recently (like around February or so). There looks to be one on the MP right now.

After an advanced search, I found the Taeheo head on the MP! This was so helpful~

 

It's interesting to see these Holy Seolroks. I couldn't tell from the company pics, but it looks from the two posted here as though his mouth is a bit more open than the regular Seolrok. Can't wait to see the various results!

@Milo Your Hwahui is so cute, I had to go see more of him on your flickr. Love his faceup, and the way he is styled and photographed as though you just happened upon the two of them while walking around taking outdoor snapshots, and then the camera was suddenly noticed by your subject. (Are you sure he's not really alive? lol)

@Ravenwolf Rune looks like he could be a brooding hero appearing out of the mist in a 19th century gothic novel, so handsome.

@eve-one Haha thank you! I was thinking he looked like something like that too with that coat/scarf He is sort of a brooding hero in my story ^_^ he's the leader of a group of misfits with elemental powers they don't quite always understand and he is their mentor and everyone looks up to him

@Milo Aww you made your Hwahui looks so boyish and cute! You can style your dolls so creatively and I always love to see what you'll do next!

@FaithZ I think Little Bahm is extremely cute and sweet! I collect bigger dolls mostly but I am very tempted to bring him home! Switch did a great job with their first tiny

SWITCH is doing preorder wigs for their chocolate cut wigs in 3 colors. I'm so glad it's easier to buy wigs this time (I quit attempting to buy their wigs for more than a year now because of how the cart is and how they only limit you to 3 wigs per type I usually end up with none by the time I want to check out orz) I wonder if they will do preorders for all wigs from now on.

 

Hi there! Totally new to the bjd scene and am in love with Seowo -- he's so beautiful! I know your site says that the pre-order is sold out, is there any suggestions or recommendations you could make as a seller for someone just starting out to stay ahead of the sell-out curve? Also curious about what the body is that the head is on... Beautiful Thanks so much!

 

@Izam Yep! I noticed too! I'm not able to start a GO myself but maybe someone will before the cut off.

@strawberrie_strudel Hi! Which version of Seowo are you interested in? There's the NS version and then there's the MB(Mocha Brown) version. I saw a NS Seowo on the MP some time ago, so you might want to start there first Overall Switch mostly releases in limited order periods, all of which are announced a little bit before the sale begins. All dolls and items go on sale Korean time ^^
FaithZ is the most active dealer of Switch so you can check on their website too for a Seowo. The MP will be your last stop and sometimes your only way to get a Switch doll quickly. Keep an eye out there and hope one turns up Good luck dear!~

 

So, I want to get a Switch Humming Dolly 65 cm body but I'm kind of scared... I'm trying to look up as many reviews as possible but people has so many different opinions >_> I'm kind of afraid that it would look to bulky for my character in real Life... Can anyone who has that body give me some advise? I'm kind of lost here xD

 

@xNightmareJack: For what kind of head do you like to use the HD 65 Body?
It depends on the head I think if the Body looks too bulky.
For example I bought my Uhui:R with the HD 65 Body and I think it was too bulky for the head and now I'm using the HD 60 Body.
But for the Ryun:R, Soseo, Waseon... the body fits pretty well IMO.

I have only one Switch Humming Dolly 65 Mocha Brown body on my Soseo and in my opinion it's wonderful; standing stable and its sculpt is beautiful, too.

@xNightmareJack I agree with Clementia and I really like the body. I was unsure at first too, but I've found it to be really stable and lovely for being a larger size.

 

Not sure if this is any help, but for the aesthetic side of things, here are a couple of quick pics I took last year when I got my Hwahui (60 cm) and Seolrok (65 cm). I was just interested to see how they'd size up next to each other so the poses, exposure and angles aren't the greatest, but you can see that the HD 65 is actually not that beefy looking. It does have the abs and chest definition (not moob-y though!), but overall looks pretty slim compared to some of the other 65 cm bodies I've seen. It depends on the head, though. I don't think I'd like Hwahui on the 65 since he has kind of a baby face, but Seolrok's head seems to be in proportion.

 

- Owning a Waseon on HD60 and a Sohwa on HD65, i can also give my opinion towards the bodys : I have switched their heads, and Waseon head looks too small on HD65 body wich appears too bulky then, whereas Sohwa head makes the HD60 body appear too small and thin.
It is strange because the two bodys aren't that different, we can see it on the pictures above... but it seems really to depend on which head is on which body : when my Waseon and my Sohwa have their heads on their bodys, the two bodys look thin and well proportionnate, not bulky at all. ^^

- But i also need your help ! (although this question may have already been answered somewhere in the 44 pagesi will try and read them ^^" ) : I have these two pretty boys, who are almost naked, and i am searching for clothes for them ! Especially some jeans pants for the Sohwa, with his HD65 body. I have checked his mensurations and apparently he has a wide waist compared to volks or luts dolls... ans so it seems i cannot find any shop wich offers pants that would fit, and i don't dare to buy on secondary market for the same reasons. o__o

 

@MorgY it's only one seller but I've bought several pairs of pants and jeans from NineStyle for SD17 and they fit switch boys perfectly. I imagine (but haven't tested myself) that any SD17 standard size pants would probably fit too

 

Thank you very much ! I thought about nine9 style. They are a bit expensive, but very classy too. I am glad they fit HD65 boys. ^^

I also imagined any standart SD17 pants would fit, but for instance TTYA makes jeans for Volks SD17 size. And Volks SD17's waist size is something like 20 cm, whereas HD65's is 22,5 according to Den of Angels wiki. That could mean one would not be able to close the pants... although it seems nobody has a hard time finding closes that fit, considering there are no threat on this subject anywhere.

@MorgY Glad to help! Don't worry, I didn't know either until I asked about clothing for 80cm dolls. A kind fellow hobbyist answered my question. It's all about passing along info in a hobby like this

 

@MorgY: I have two SD17 suits from Sadol for my HD 65 Boys and it fits them pretty well IMO.

 

@Saiyaku : wow, your opinion is right, it is very elegant *o* why are these outfits so expensiiive (i was looking at sadol website just yesterday), i want one (or two) for each of my boys TTwTT

I think Sadol outfits are worth their prices because not only they are well made and realistic, the fabric is high quality too. You will get what you see unlike some places that have beautiful pictures of their items but what you get is ...disappointing.

 

I love my Sadol outfits but they are pretty pricey 0.0
Nonetheless I would buy another in a heartbeat and like Yumi
says they are great quality.

I'm more worried about Switch new teaser for White Waseon for
their anniversary. It's that time of year and I need to save save save.

So, Switch revealed a teaser for Rosy White Waseon! Who is planning on murdering their wallet for him?

Also, Switch uploaded a picture of Mocha Brown Seoha to their Instagram. Not sure if that means anything, but hey, you never know!

(These clothes are SID sized and they are way too big : it feels like he is the youngest sibling and has to wear his oldest brother's clothes. TwT I may change the eyes and wig also... )

@FiftyPills Yeah I see what you mean. They did post a teaser that's yet to be addressed so maybe it's a sign, hehe? The rereleased Rusi last year if you purchased Hwahui, could you imagine if they released both.?! My poor soul...Q.Q, lol. I hope you get a chance at a MB boy.

@Calfuray @Loeki Usually yes they allow you to purchase a body at that time. I'm actually quite surprised that it's just the head. For their MB boys you had to buy the full doll. This gives people the option to hybridize and still get him XD

@AnnoDomini Yes. I thought about that. Just resin matching that relatively new rosy white has me a little concerned lol. I really want the head though.

But I guess matching whiter resin is easier than normal skin resin >< I have no experience in hybridization.

 

At the bottom of Waseon's page in the Attention section, was this bit of information. "{Humming Dolly 65boy Body(2nd Ver.) Rosy White skin} will be available in June."

Still working on a faceup for my poor, neglected Ajeong, but I've been making a point to photograph my completed Switch boys lately.

 

I bought a Waseon earlier this year and he's absolutely stunning. Buy him! I'm that bias Anyway for one reason and another I couldn't get him to look like the character I had in my head. Being so in love with the sculpt I decided to keep trying. A couple of months later and I can say now I'm very pleased. Meet Virgil based on the ancient Rome poet who wrote the Aeneid:

 

Does the new Waseon come with faceup? I really like the one he has on the promo pics

I just bought him! I'll also get the new body in rosy white when it's released in June. It says to expect delivery in August. It will be a birthday present to myself. Can't wait!
