Mocha Brown Sohwa looks great. ; A ;

 

I am in love with mocha sohwa! I promised myself no more ABJD this year though. T_T

 

Oh no. Oh no, no, no.

I knew I was in trouble when I found myself "casually" browsing SD-sized sculpts a few days ago, even more so when I found myself head over heels in love with a Doll Leaves girl. And then somehow, tonight, I clicked my way into the web that is Switch and oh boy I'm in trouble and not just because I fell for two Switch sculpts in one swoop (Yiho and MB Sohwa) but because I had three rules about buying bjds: 1) Stick to MSDs. 2) No floating heads. 3) No male dolls, you don't bond with them. The latter I've already broken on my own, but I was doing so good with the other two... This, this is painful. Even more so knowing I have funds saved up for another doll... I was never going to get SDs... Sticking to that one will be downright painful this time around if I manage to do it!

 

MB Sohwa is reaaaaally gorgeous... But I know I'm not meant to BJD-Boys... I tried, but that's not for me (and my tries to sell my boy's head are epic fails, I couldn't put more money into a "hey what if I try male dolls?").

I hope to see some of them here or on flickr though!

 

Talk about flickr, every time I happen to lurk I see such nice switch boys TT TT I've kind of been in and out of the dolly hobby for a while but switchies always seems to reel me in. I'm reaaaallly loving Seolrok orz... I wasn't too convinced of his face at first, but the more I see him the more I like him. Really catching features!!

I've started instant messaging my husband pictures of Mocha Sohwa, calling him "Sexy Resin Man." My husband decided to shorten it to SRM, and I replied that those must be his initials
I'm really hoping I can scrape together the funds for him in time! Does anyone know how to get his faceup? It doesn't seem to be offered on the promotional page for Sohwa, and I don't see anything that corresponds under the makeup category. Maybe they will add it when he goes up for sale? Also, I've never worked with Switch before, do you guys find them to be reliable and trusty? Thanks

 

I was hoping they would offer the head separately as well. I guess for a MB release they always have it in full. I'm contemplating about getting him at the moment. Ever since I was his sculpt on flickr I've wanted to have him. But this time he's in different skin tone so I'm not so sure.

 

Switch is a great company! I've never had any trouble with the service or the quality of anything they make. I am kicking myself a little for jumping on the first release of Sohwa now. I like the Mocha Brown version even more! They haven't ever re-released any of the mocha versions, have they? The lack of layaway is quite painful all of the sudden.

Huh, I find it a little strange that they don't make it clear if the promotional faceup will be available Either way, I'm sure I can find someone to make him super easy on the eyes I think his promo faceup is amazing, but I might prefer a more natural look anyway.

 

AnnoDomini: haha, I've already talked myself out of him. I do like the sculpt, but I've gone on a weird kick where I'm very picky about noses... LOL I think Taeheo ruined me to be honest, and Sohwa just isn't quite up to par for my tastes. Still, he's lovely, and I'm sure I'll get to enjoy him vicariously through everyone else's photos.

captaintokyo: this guy is the same size as an SD17 haha. A new wardrobe would be necessary (not a bad thing in my book).

bronzephoenix: I think they got hounded about the promo face ups at one point, and now they just save themselves the trouble. Most artists adore painting SWITCH dolls though; they're loads of fun. So you'll be in good shape regardless. :3

 

@Anno @@'' I hope I didn't jinx myself... I saving up another pile for a second hand TTwTT MB Sohwa~ It is a little frustrating that they don't accept layaways

MB Sohwa is almost as hyped about as Soseo~ &#936;(&#65344;&#9661;´)&#936; Too lovely, too hard to resist o(&#9573;&#65103;&#9573o ​

 

Does Switch have any dealers who take layaway? I usually buy my dolls direct, but I've used that method in the past for limiteds when they caught me by surprise.

 

I wish they did, but as far as I know because the sizeof their company, they don't offer layaway from any source because they already have a tough time keeping up with orders as is. Switch is honestly one of the fastest growing doll brands in their range, but they seem to want to keep their staff frustratingly small so that they always have that limited feel I guess. So far they've never had a problem selling out in a blink, so I don't see them changing any time soon. Even after loosing all my heads, I would have bought more replacements by now of they had layaway ;,;

 

@ St. James: None that I know of. D: Otherwise, I'm sure many of us would use that lawaway option (whether directly from the company or from a dealer). lol

 

The sohwa is gorgeous ;-; But I decided to fall on the grenade of Yiho ( ugh so beautiful ;-; ). My favorite sculpt from them by far though is the Uhui-R, so precious. If only I'd gotten to grab him.

 

I thought about grabbing Uhui during the Catch Me If You Can event, but I persuaded myself that he was too similar to my K-Doll Karon. Now I'm kicking myself for not picking up Seolrok then. I did not notice his potential until it was too late.

 

Hello,everyone I am new here and I am a big fan of switchdolls.I have got three switch heads now,they are Soseo ,Seolrok and Yiho.It is hard to say which one is my favorite,because each of them have unique characteristics.I really love the noses and mouths on switch figures,because they are very gorgeous.I really like to make friends with someone who like switchdolls!

 

Welcome to the thread final-utopia! It looks like you already have a very lovely collection of Switch dolls. Looking forward to seeing pictures of them and hearing more about your characters. Also looks like you're new to DoA - so double welcome.

 

I have a question. How much is it usually for shipping a full doll?

 

Assuming you're from Japan (?) looks like around 35$. I paid 65-ish for zone 3.

And soon I received my seolrok,and he is regarded as yiho's elder brother.I think The two heads resemble each other when they are blank,but after getting the different face up,they look different from each other.In other word,they have their own unique characteristic now.

Then,my soseo came back home,And I think soseo is the most handsome guy among switch boys.I am so lucky for receiving it.

 

@final_utopia Thank you for the lovely photos Oh man, Seolrok is currently on my wishlist and it was nice seeing included. I hope Switch do another event where I can get him (even just the head is fine). Anyway, thank you for sharing

 

Ahh! I'm totally new to Switch, and I've never seen the Seolrok sculpt before. He's amaaaaazing!!!! Gotta keep an eye out and see if they release that cutie again!

Ahhhhhhhh I officially sold enough things to get myself a MB Sohwa So I guess now I just have to sign up with Switch, figure out what time I need to be in front of the computer, and pray. Especially that last, or so I'm told

I have been back and forth staring at pictures of the mb Sohwa, and my gosh he's lush! I felt great regret when I decided to pass the previous order period, but ... I don't really know what to do with male dolls. o.o; .. I think I mostly hope some of you lovely Switch boy collectors will get one and I can put my stalk on. .. Wink wink nudge nudge and all that.

 

The day they release a Mocha Brown Seolrok, I'll be in serious trouble...come to think about it, I should probably start setting funds aside just to be safe!

I've been lurking for a while now, but I wanted to say I wish the best of luck to those whom are planning to try and order an MB Sohwa~ Because I would love to see pictures of that lovely (=3=) I unfortunately don't have funds and also don't have a need for him (which I guess is sorta a blessing in disguise) but it doesn't stop me wanting him *sighs*
Luckily I actually own an MB Soseo so I'm good =3 and also a load of other switch heads =x am totally hoarding them in a box hahahaha~!

 

I'm in love with Mocha brown version of Sohwa, he's just perfect. I wish I could have the money to get him!

Do you know if Switch accepts layaway? I'm so tempted...

Hahaha I bet it! When they announced Sohwa in MB I was like ''Urgh... right in the wallet".

Rohava Your Hyul is beautiful! Which body is she using? (I hope you don't mind telling me)

 

Hisomu you Noel is so gorgeous and don't mind the question either The body is the Switch 57cm girl body and the resin match is still really good being that my Hyul is a couple of years old.

 

Ahh I love the delicate beauty of Hyul, and Pai is styled to suit the sculpt very well ! Want more, yes !

 

I just realized something. When they say they don't do the promo face-up. Which face up am I really getting for my Haji:r? Am I getting the face-up from the first pictures or the option face-up? Would be grateful for answer^^!

 

I'm pretty sure it's the option face-up that will come with the dolls as the promo face-up is just for their photographs, it's a shame there isn't a choice really, sometimes I really like the option face-ups but usually it's the promo one that draws me to the sculpt in the first place lol. That being said I normally order my dolls blank these days anyway.

 

They've added the 'option' face-up to the listing of Mocha Sohwa for those who were wondering about it earlier; I noticed it yesterday while looking at his photos for the 103820th time. ^^' I'm heavily thinking of trying for him tonight/tomorrow morning when he is released, even though I'm saving for several trips and trying to buy less dolls. But I feel unless they re-release the Mocha guys later on Sohwa will be super hard to find.

Rohava your Hyul is gorgeous. That's not a Switch sculpt I see often. She's really beautiful and serene.

It's definitely a different faceup, though... I suppose I will order him blank (if I can get him at all, haha). Unless of course it's a lighting thing? The whole faceup seems lighter to me. But! I get confused sometimes

 

I see the face-up lighter too. And the eyebrows are a bit blond.
I need to avoid going on switch website, I really want this damn MB Sohwa but it´s unreasonable right now v.v

I agree, the face-up is different, but it is still very beautiful. and I am so happy (like sobbing in joy), that I may still have a chance to put together the funds to try for this boy.

 

Ack, I'm really tempted to purchase some more SWITCH wigs and they're restocking their Chocolate Cut (and Millefeuille Cut) AND there's so many colors. D':
