[Adopted] Souldoll Vito (50cm) Discussion - Part 3

I think part of my problem shoeing most of my guys is that they don't wear "modern" shoes because they exist in a time before now or they exist in a time that's a far future to now (and aren't human). I'm also not a fan of all the platform shoes/boots floating around out there. But, I figure if I stick to a simple pair of riding boots or plain ankle boots for Eilian, I should have an easier time finding something that fits and is right looking.

One of the people in my local doll group makes her own footwear for her crew and I'm always amazed at how nice they look. I've made some simple bog shoes and sandals for my guys but I don't feel confident enough to tackle full on shoes/boots.

 

Very true, not only is the hunt for the right size but the right style..too many times I see some cool shoes then see the size and I'm like drat. I've made a few simple boots, sandals myself as well. And your right a ton of platform boots, which work for a few of my dolls since I wanted them a bit taller..lol. Was just moving my doll stuff from one room to another and couldn't believe the shoes I've accumelated..lol

 

Ahhh, why do Vito girls have to be Souldoll's bastard child. I love mine, but clothing for her seems so limited unless I commission it or start nurturing an upholstery fetish. I want schoolgirl outfits and cocktail dresses and winter sweaters and cute lingerie....
Freya and Yola are nice contrasts to each other, but Fellice and Kate look like they were both done by the same sculptor and I just can't get excited about them.

I wish there were more control over headcap size at Souldoll. Having a really difficult time finding wigs that fit because the headcap is so shallow. The circumference of the head is indeed 6-7" as listed, but it's so shallow that everything is baggy and weird. If I could ask them one thing, it would be to check whether their own wigs fit on their own dolls before they ship either, and if they don't, to resculpt the headcap. My Soulkid is enjoying a new wig at least, but I'm guessing that 5-6" will be better for my Freya even though the circumference is too small.

 

Wigs can be the worst I totally sympathize. I had the same problem with my Devonia and Kyron. I hope the wig I ordered is going to work for my Paw when he comes in..just placed the order today along with Ariana...so excited for both.

 

I have a Leeke art wig for Eilian when I get him later in the year. I hope it fits him okay and doesn't look weird. I can take in a wig if necessary but it's a pain in the butt. Weird doll heads are always a challenge to wig decently.

 

Sandy or Normal? To get default makeup or both heads blank? Get an extra body? I seriously am on the struggle bus trying to make a decision about Paw. Haha. I have too many options and it's making my brain explode. I only know-I'm finding a way to order him. The deadline is almost upon us. The 31st. He is just the most perfect male doll I've seen. I'm definitely getting both the Human and wolf clothes. I really like how they did his faceup, but I think I may need to save some money right now and I think I should just get both heads blank and send them out to someone. Probably would be the smart thing to do. I just really love how they do their body blushing though too. Sigh...I need a money tree.

Anyone else on here ordering Paw having as much trouble as me in making up their mind about what they want to do?

yep I was struggling but just ordered a few days ago, I decided I didn't need the extra body because I didn't want two dolls in the same color (ordered the blue). If I would have been able to get the head and extra body in a different color I would have done it..lol.
I dedided after I missed the deadline for Berial that I definitely was not going to miss this one.

 

That was my rationale for ordering the Soom Xmas kit and the Souloid. I'd hesitated a couple years back on another of the ID51's and regretted it. I didn't hesitate on the Souloid and I'm really happy with my purchase. With special offers like this, I think you almost need to go with your gut and get the doll (or maybe not get it if that's what your gut is saying) otherwise you could end up missing out on a doll you really wanted and will have a hard time finding 2nd hand. As long as you don't put other things in jeopardy (food, rent, power, etc.) to afford a doll, you're good to go in my mind. And the layaway option is extra tempting and makes the pain of shelling out the big chunk of cash a little less painful.

 

@Iron_Dog - that's the best way to go. I don't jump at the first moment, but if the doll has a backstory and a name in my head.....well, push the button!
I love my grey Riris with her horns and wings + clothes, shoes, wigs. I went whole hog and glad I did. SD gives us a nice long layaway too.

oh, I wanted that golden souloid boy so much. but, bank account said no. and that's the final decision-maker.

 

same with me. i keep remove and put back my Paw order. but in the end just happy with ordering him blank in normal human ver and plus side i can order the claw hand for his wolfy side. I didnt really need the wolf body, but claw hand looks good

 

I got the gold Souloid and I'm really happy I did even if my wallet wasn't too thrilled over the cost *laughs*. When I order Eilian (Rail), I'll be getting him with the SD default face up because I really like the way they did it in the promo shots. I got the free head with my Souloid with the default face-up (I use that head for him) and I have to say that SD does some gorgeous face-ups. It's pretty much bang on what the promo shots look like, which gives me full confidence in getting the default for Eilian, especially since I usually order blank and get my guys custom painted.

 

Yeah, I should agree that SD default faceup is really stunning! I order my soulkids with his defaut faceup and really satisfy with them. If it's not because I need to cut some expenses for my Paw order and since I want my doll have a face that feel 'this is his character' (he will have a scar in his face) I would like to have SD company faceup

 

Yep, I can totally understand that. A face-up will really make or break a character in my opinion. I wish I could paint my own guys but, unfortunately, it's something I'm completely unable to do no matter how much practice or effort I'd put in (I'm face-blind so... yeah, not gonna happen).

Just talking about the face made me go back to the SD page and stare at the Rail sculpt. He's so serious and stern looking *happy sigh*. It's too bad that I can't get him now, but I've already spent quite a bit on new dolls in the past two months and am tapped out on serious doll spending for the next little while *pouts*. I need a money tree.

 

That was another one of my regrets I totally forgot about the gold and silver souloids and of course missed the ordering period I saw it and was like that is really cool something must have distracted me..lol. Something else for me to stalk.
I went ahead and got the default for both my Paw and Ariana, your right their faceups are amazing I love my Junia and Aeheal's faceups I really wish I would have gotten them with my Kyron and Devonia. My deciding factor is A. I'm not so good at faceups B. it will cost me about the same to have someone else do it(probably more with shipping out the heads). If I don't have a specific direction of look for them and I like the faceup I go for it. These next months are going to go by soooo slow.

 

Waiting on any doll is usually tortuously slow *laughs*. I've got a Soom ID51 I'm waiting on (it's only been 19 days since I paid *sigh*) and an Akhmel Nathan that I put the down payment on back in October. The artist said she hopes to get the Nathan's out this month so fingers crossed.

Yeah, for Warrick (my Souloid), I didn't have anything specific in mind for his face and I really liked the face-up on the Titika head (the one I use instead of the Phiel head) so I'm more than pleased with the SD default. Certainly doesn't hurt anything that it's a gorgeous face up. And I completely agree that if I'd gotten him blank, I'd have ended up paying more for a custom face-up plus shipping to and fro.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with the wait time for SD as far as Warrick went. They pretty much sent him out when they said they would. I don't know if that was unusual or not for SD but I think he was sent out about... 1.5 months after my final layaway payment and I did get one head with a face-up so I'd say that's pretty good in general for a company. I know there's others that have a truly painful wait period for their dolls (I'm looking at you, Dollshe). I only hope that when I order Eilian, they're still humming along smartly on production times. Eilian may end up being my b'day gift to me, which means waiting allllll the way to September to order him. Unless, of course, I plan my purchase for his arrival around my b'day *taps lips thoughtfully*.

 

Seriously you have to be kidding me...do they make like ten outfits??! How can they already be sold out of the Paw casual outfit? I just went to check out and wouldn't let me. It said insufficient items in cart. I was confused because I already had the outfit in my cart, but it must have just switched to sold out and they don't let you check out even if the item is in your cart. I really wanted that outfit. Literally nothing fits that size and I adore that outfit. Grrrr...why do I always wait one moment too long and then the item is gone? Dang it all. Does souldoll not realize we need their outfits desperately?? Especially the vitos!!! The in between size have such a hard time finding clothes. I wonder if I can bribe them again. I managed to convince them via a message to let me order my Sandy brown skin Shaun after the event ended in their time zone, but not mine and he was still in my cart, but kept saying item insufficient. They just created a secret listing for me. Of course with this, it's probably diffeeent, but damn...I really wanted that outfit!!

 

They never seem to re-stock outfits either. It's like they make a certain number and then burn the pattern. I keep hoping that they'll re-stock the outfit the Rail sculpt is wearing in the promo shots but... I can make something similar to it but that's not the point. I really like the outfit as it's shown and it is soooo something Eilian would wear.

 

Haha. I just had this crazy image of them taking out all their anger at customers by having an outfit pattern burning party at souldoll headquarters and had a good laugh. I think you're right. I guess they aren't as bad as some companies who put that "available soon" button under the outfits and then never ever bring them back, but I really wish they would have a giant reissue of all their outfits because they have had some epic outfits and I'll never understand why they don't want their dolls to have clothes. Like at least they should say this one is limited to 50 sets so I would know to hurry. I had no idea I even needed to scramble for that oufit. I figured I would get at least till the Paw event ended before they said ok-this outfit is gone.

And yeah-I love the Rail oufit you are talking about. I wish they would bring that back at as well. One of my faves!


Well I sent them a message about doing a bring back the outfits event. Haha. We shall see what they have to say. And we shall see if my begging works into sneaking in a "oh but it was already in my cart" casual Vito outfit into my order. I mean...what's one more outfit to make? Right? Haha. Crossing my fingers they will let me buy one with my doll.

 

I wish you could buy the human body with the option of the claw hands. I keep going back and forth over Paw, I love the sculpt, love the blue skin but can't bring myself to push the button

i order the human ver with claw hand. They made me a separate order link for the claw hand that can be add together with the doll. perhaps because I keep bugging them saying I want that claw hand in QnA. The normal skin claw is $22, mint blue..I forgot the price but around $ 30-35 something.

 

i wish to build a hybrid with the vito girls body- could anybody let me know if its a good match with iple normal skin? thanks for the info

 

It is. I have a Vito/Iple hybrid and the NS match is almost spot on

Souldoll is seriously amazing!! I messaged them about potentially putting quantities on their outfits so we would know when the outfits were about to go out of stock or if we should order right away as I was really bummed about missing out on the Paw Vito Casual Outfit and they saved the day. They said for future reference most sets only have 30-50 sets, but they would try to list their quantities in the future. It is just hard because they move stock from both the English site and the non-English site. However they had one Paw Casual outfit left on the non-English site and they would move it over to the English site for me to purchase so I could have it. Then it would officially be sold out. Now that is freakin customer service!!!

So I just placed my order for Paw! I got him in Sandy brown skin with default faceup and gift head blank and he is going to have 3 beautiful outfits! His Human outfit, wolf outfit and that amazing Paw Casual outfit. I decided to forgoe the extra body and I'll just search for one later for the extra head. Souldoll is simply my favorite company to work with!!

 

I decided to just put the Paw Wolf head on my trade list for now and hope for the best - I don't really want a full Vito for now xD

Looking forward to seeing all the incoming Paws tho

 

@Meggethann oh wow! congrats! i keep debating myself do I need that casual outfits or not ^^; (I want it,...but I don't think it fit my guy character) but since you said SD inform will no longer produce it, I guess I should said to myself to let it go ^^;;

I tried to choose the vito winter event outfit, but it said it was sold out. But I still chose that coupon because the shipping discount coupons don't apply to EMS and that is the only shipping option to me. So I don't think I was fast enough to get a winter event free outfit. I wish they would have offered another coupon if everything was sold out. Kind of makes their winter event silly when it doesn't work for people. But I honestly don't care. I got what I really wanted out of my order!

 

Where does it say the winter event outfit is sold out? I'm at the point of making a decision about which doll I order so that might sway my decision

 

When I click on each outfit individually, it doesn't let me add their outfits. It says they are sold out. I mean...maybe I was doing it wrong. But it appears that all the winter event outfits are sold out when you click on them. I had a vito event one in my cart and it said I couldn't check out with it before either because of insuffienct quantity. So I think they are all gone.

 

I have the full set Vito Freya, and love her to pieces! However---she did not come with panties, and has a rather large rear. Any suggestions on where I can get ones that fit her? Did not see any on the SoulDoll web site.

 

@Meggethann ohh same thing also happen with me during order on Dec. Previously the gift dress is available to be clicked and include in my cart, but when the time I'll order Paw, I cant clicked the gift dress and said Sold Out. But I still choose the dress in the coupon and put message in my order I want the gift dress xD.
I think SD will give automatically for the dress if we choose/request it since it still in the periode for winter event.

 

@larva-zax Oh dang-well I picked that coupon. So maybe I'll message them and ask if it will be included. It's ok if it isn't though. I wasn't in love with it or anything. But I'll find out.

 

Having the same "problem," lol. It doesn't help the way the hip joint makes her bum double in size when sitting too.

Hey guys~ popping in to join the future Paw owners club! I'm excited, got him to pair with my Phiel and I think they'll look great together. He'll be my third smaller guy in a row after owning only huge 65-70cm guys, I've fallen hard for the smaller sizes, haha.

Quick question, has anyone bought a 6-7inch Crobidoll wig for their Vito? Do those fit okay? I'm also wondering about shoes. So far the only other shoes I've found that seem like they might fit based on the measurements are Luts' Model Delf shoes. Are there any others or should I just cave and buy the Vito specific shoes?

 

@iiiaddiction - I can't help with the Crobi Doll wig, but I can tell you for sure that Vito feet will not fit into Model Delf shoes. MDFs have narrower, slightly shorter feet. My Vito is wearing Iplehouse nYID boy loafers. I haven't tried any of the other styles (regrettably the loafers are sold out) but expect that they will fit with socks.

 

Have no clue with the body matching but good idea! Please post some pics if u managed to do so!! XDD

 

I can help with that - I already own a Vito head on an Iple body (pics strewn througout this thread) and I made some pictures for greeneyed-soul of a JID Asa on the Vito girl body here.

Listed wig circumference from Souldoll is usually more-or-less correct in my experience, they seem to have a big issue with head backplate sizes though. I have 5 different 6-7" Souldoll heads around and the backplates fit anywhere from 5 to 8" wigs, so... good luck. But, yes, technically that will fit for circumference.

btw, speaking of clothes. My Vito boy just had new clothes. Yesterday I went to Nine9Style cafe and when he try Jeans and Jacket for SD13 Girl from the store it's fit. Perhaps if anyone that looking alternative for Vitos clothes.

Did you all see the souldoll announcement with the new clothes? I like the Vito boy outfit. Completely on the fence about the Vito girl one. Really wish the Zenith boy one had been made for the Vito's, but I guess I can kind of see why it wasn't since Paw's Human outfit was a long those lines. They certainly do have an interesting style for their modern day clothes...can't quite decide if I like it or not. I definitely plan on getting the Vito boy outfit and know I need to hurry based on my last convo with them. They didn't go with my advice of listing the quantity they had, but I will always keep in mind they make 30-50 sets of each clothing piece and that is always based on the materials used. Harder to find materials mean less sets available and apparently as consumers we will always have to guess that. But yeah...I do intend to get that Vito boy outfit.

I like the Vito boy outfit, too. The style reminds me a bit of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I don't know what to make of the Vito girl outfit. I like the short coat/jacket but the tunic dress with the long train looks strange. And why does Soul Doll make you select a size when there is only one size available?

 

I think maybe they do that as a safeguard so people realize exactly what doll size they are purchasing. Or perhaps it's a one size fits all computer function graphic and they can't change it? So they have to put the box in and have only one option in it. Who knows. I love your comparison to Fantastic Beasts. I agree. It also reminds me of that. I know that the girl tunic with short front and long back is a style that people wear and is actually pretty popular in some countries, but I just don't get it...and mostly I'm just so on the fence about the fabric choices. They really seem strange. I thought that with the last round of Vito girl dresses too. But I'm sure someone out there loves it and that is all that matters. I am just glad that my Vito boy will have some nice stuff to wear.

 

ohh now I'm debating to take the Vito guy clothes or not. Since based on my experience buying the seperate clothes is cost much expensive than buying the set directly from souldoll. >.<
And yeah I kinda get the vibe of Newt from Paw outfit, and his wig too! (I hope souldoll sell us that wig also).

I do wonder about the jointed hands too, since never saw one of Vito boy I see using it. I guess MSD size too small, and SD13 boy hands too big (but since his clothes fits girls size, hmmm never know perhaps jointed hands fit too, but not reccomend it xD)

Speaking of clothes, my boy Nate (Vito Elan) also trying black and jeans jacket for SD13 size in Freedom Teller shop, and as usual it fits for girl size, but the hand a bit long, u can roll it a little. Otherwise I think it look good on Vito boy.

 

I agree about the fabric choices. My reaction to the last round of Vito girl dresses was: I frequently have that reaction to the prints they choose, not to mention the combinations. But, as you say, it will appeal to someone.

@larva-zax - Thank you for supplying the name Newt! I was having a senior moment and couldn't remember the name of either the character or the actor who plays him. (How could I forget Eddie Redmayne?)

And I'm glad to see how some of the Freedom Teller clothes fit on Vito boys. Thanks for showing those.

 

Oh do you think that wig will be available soon too? I do hope so! I just sent them a message to see if I could tack that outfit on to my Paw order to save on shipping. I'm hoping they agree to it.

Your doll looks wonderful. Thanks for the heads up about the SD13 fitting so well. That is great news. There are so many things from them I want to buy!

 

@vermont chick hahaha, Newt clothes kinda inspiring more BJD clothes now. I saw Freedom Teller also made Newt clothes but for SD boys only. Vito boy also fits the trench coat for SD13 girls.

I also had asked SD for possible combine order of the clothes with my doll order, but I forget asking for the wig. I had bought the wig size 6-7 from them since it said fit for Kids and Vito, but unfortunatelly it fit only for my Kids boy, and not Vito boy size (his forehead and skull is so wide), thats why I dont dare try again 6-7 wig from SD. I'm not sure whether it because the model of the wig is Kids girl thats why the wig is fit only for Kids size, but I need a long silver hair and the only wig they had size 6-7" is only for Kids size.

 

My Azrael has been in his box since he arrived at the end of Oct. I got the new head and put it in the box with him, shut the lid and have left him languishing there since. I've never even opened his fullset. Everytime I think I might finally get him out and put him together something gets in the way. Has anyone else had a new doll for 4 months and never even got the doll out? Is that a sign that I don't like him?

 

Most certainly! It's a sign that real life and new arrivals interfere with our doll plans!

 

I have dolls that I quite literally haven't seen in months. Doesn't mean I don't love them/am happy with them. My dolls need to be in their boxes due to lack of display space. Considering I've got 40 of them and live in a modest sized apartment... yeah. I'd like to be able to display them, but it just isn't a thing i can do right now.

However, I always take out new dolls and dress them and generally will bring them into work with me a few times when they're brand new. But that is me and my situation.

 

My usual response to a new arrival is to tear into the box immediately. The only new doll I ever left in her box arrived in the wrong color resin. I took a couple of photos in case I had to prove to the company that they made a mistake and then tucked her away out of sight. She didn't languish long, as the company agreed to exchange her for the color I actually ordered.

If it was a doll I meant to keep, I can't imagine leaving it in the box for several months, untouched. Regardless of how busy life gets, I can always find a half-hour to fuss with a new doll. If not, I would seriously question whether what I was experiencing is buyer's remorse. My next step would probably be to list it on the marketplace.

I just got reply from souldoll incase anyone interested on ordering new Vito boy clothes.

"We have prepared the stock of Vito boy clothes in 30 set and the stock of Sck-VM available 7 set.

You don\'t need to pay the shipping fare of Sck-VM if you want to get the clothes with your Paw."

I guess just like @Meggethann said before, English website only available for 7 order, with total available clothes set is 30 order for all Souldoll Website. Once 7 order done, they will remark as Sold Out.

 

It depends on the arrival! If something surprises me or the doll isn't as I expected, I sometimes put it way for a while. Frequently I am pleasantly surprised when I pull the doll out again.

Of course I did get a little doll about two years ago that was missing the head cap magnets. We were having work done on the house so I tucked little doll in with one of the big girls to keep it safe. Then I couldn't remember who he was with! I just found the little one about a week ago! The magnets have been here a looonnnngggg time! Now I need to decide if it a boy or girl!

 

See I got a slightly different response. They said I had to pay an additional $3.70 of shipping to add the outfit to my Paw order. That is totally fine, but a little frustrating if other people get to have it with free shipping to their order. Although maybe it depends on how much you got with your Paw order. I got Paw plus both wolf and Human clothes and that Paw casual outfit so maybe adding another outfit would add more than say someone who just has the doll in their order. Honestly for $3.70 it's way cheaper than what it would be if I was buying it alone. Although if I'm understanding you, they are only offering 7 left on the US site of the 30 sets made? Yikes. I need to hurry up then. They also told me I had to pay for my outfit in full to get that shipping price to add to my order. So I guess I better come up with some money cause Vito clothes are really hard to find and I really like that outfit.
