Aaaaaaaah!!! I just got my shipping notice for Corun!!! I look forward to receiving him soon!!!

 

Wow, congratulations!!! That was fast.

 

I didn't order Corun himself, but I did order his outfit... and just got the shipping notice.

Rowan is going to look ace in that thing. XD

 

Vin Loo wanted to stop by and wish all the Soom lovers a happy VD day and to show her fine self in case anyone is curious how the ballet feet and shoes look.

 

She is looking fine! I would love to see a closeup of the ballet feet without the shoes!

Here is one I took when I first got her and had not blushed her feet or the shoes yet. I call them her crippled feet. I will post a side shot of her feet in her doll profile too.

Ooo, those fancy feet are so cool--they look like they really need some satin slippers; I know she couldn't stand in them unsupported but a stand would fix that!

 

I know, they do scream for red satin ballet slippers don't they? I have a clear stand coming for just those special moments when some standing help is needed. I would die if she toppled over and broke.

 

Those do look like crippled feet! I was afraid that Soom had done that again. That's probably why they sent me another picture of the feet and shoes when I asked for the bare feet! A big Thank You for the pictures!

 

You are welcome! Yes, they are not the most beautiful when not in the shoes, but from the side they are not bad. In the shoes they look perfect. She did come with flat feet too, but I doubt I will use them.

 

I hope he looks as good as his promotional photos...I don't know if such a short turn around is good or bad!

 

Question for those who have gotten new dolls, how did you put the heads on? Corun has the new head system with the plastic banana for lack of a better word (I know a Morga owner coined that phrase) and some new wrist thing with plastic Cs for lack of a better word (though the hands are still magnetic). Will the old ribbon trick still work?

 

Yes, ribbon will work. Either through the elastic loop or looped under both sides of the banana.

The C parts cover the elastic. Don't squeeze the two tabs of the wrist part together too hard. The little center post can snap.

In exchange... I manage to haul a certain stubborn lady out of her plush little home (to much complaint of it being too cold) for a couple of photos. Being as grumpy as she was, Kamaria did not give me much that either of us were happy with (and to be fair, neither were my cold fingers, haha). Buuut here is my lovely FCE bronze Vesuvia. Please pardon her face-up, I'm still not entirely satisfied with it and am thinking of sending this girl out to the spa for some proper attention, lol!

Thank you . She was my first Soom doll to come home and the first one I attempted to blush myself. That's only my second or third attempt (cursed eyebrows, they are so hard!). She's as much of a fussbudgit as any of my girls, so she is rather demanding someone with a better hand at them. >.>; Such brats my girls are, lol.

Ooh- I rather like those prominent cheekbones of his. They did a really nice job on the face-up, the colors are actually pretty subtle but it works very well. Congrats on a handsome new fellow! I think I'll be toddling off to check out that box opening.

 

They are such beautiful brats though. You are far more talented (and braver) than I to do your own body blushing and face ups! I am really impressed by how lovely all of your girls look - you have outfits and wigs and even scenery that fits them!

He has very high cheekbones and a very manly nose. The colors are subtle and I did a poor job capturing them. I think though his head would work on a female body if you wanted a more androgynous looking lady. His eyelashes blow me away - they are even longer than Dia's! I hope you enjoy the photos! I probably took too many haha!

 

Lol, Kamaria is the only one of mine that is by my hand. Might be why she's so sulky about it xD; She hasn't been out to the spa for a treatment of her own. Yoki and Nieve are both blushed by AngelToast.

Put, it's never too many! Lol. Is he on the renewed 2016 body or was Corun still on the 2012 body? Casimir (whom I haven't gotten out yet, either) is on the 2012 one but I haven't had him unclothed in forever so I can't quite remember if that's the same one he's on, lol.

 

Perhaps it is because I am still new to the hobby, but I think your face up matches with the ones AngelToast did.

Corun is on the 2016 body. I think Dia is on the 2012 despite ordering him at the very beginning of 2016 but he has that extra thigh joint that is featured on the 2012 body. But I definitely noticed the differences which suits his character just fine.

I thought he might be. The upper body and shoulders are a bit wider than I remember Casimir's being. Out of curiosity, how do you find the proportions to be in person on that body? Do the legs feel kind of skinny compared to the muscle tone of his upper body as much as they seem to in Soom's promo pics? It's help me back from considering it for one of my guys =/

 

I really want to get a girl to be Varda (hurray for fleshing out the Silmarillion) but now I am a little worried she will be demanding too haha!

Mmm proportion wise, I think he's okay? He's literally my second big doll so I am still new to this. ^^; I do think the legs look skinny - definitely very long in appearance. I think his thighs could be a bit more fleshed out but then clothing would be difficult I guess. I think the promo pics are pretty spot on for body comparisons. I do like the new wrist joint though - his hands can definitely do more delicate posing. Melkor also has less restricting clothing so his arms are easier to pose. When seated side by side, you can definitely see the height difference.

His v-sign is meant in the British sense I'm afraid! (His character, Jerome, is working-class Glaswegian, with Highlands roots. He hates the English and people from Edinburgh. Basically... A more punky and less obviously insane version of Begbie, and that's ignoring the fact that he's unaware of his elvish (alien) alter-ego aka my giant Mecha Angel Sabik.)

Argh, I had to talk myself out of trying for another Soom boy. I think I succeeded but who knows what will happen between now and Wednesday.

Krzysztof got plenty of attention today. These are the NS Obsidious legs and feet, I dyed a while back.

 

Both my Soom boys, Krzysztof Toryk, Arkose with dyed Obsidious clawed feet, Vague Paleshadow, Vampire elf Dia with Nephelin hands on Ringdoll 60cm body.


I want more.

 

Realized I never posted a picture of Len with his new face up... and hair... and hands....... whoops.

 

Any one know how they do this event sale? Where do the sale dolls show up? I want to drool if nothing else.

@jessholy : Goodness, I think Melkor probably would have been in his glory where I am! Winter storm Stella dropped a(n area) record breaking 31.5" in 24 hours here. Then again, he would probably be completely over his head in the snow. XD.

So I think I got the leftover gray human Beryl from the Event sale..but when I went back the listing was still "live" though I got a confirmation from Soom of my payment? So confusing...I hope that if I didn't get it, they would let me know

And somewhat randomly, my Cass head "Honey", who lives on..a Resinsoul Long body because reasons (the other WS Soom Gem girl won't share)

 

@fishcake Beryl isn't available when you click on the dropdown menu so I don't think you have to worry.

Congrats if you got that gray Beryl, @fishcake . I absolutely adore mine, even if she hasn't shown her face much yet (I have not been able to get her out to be blushed yet x,X; ). I keep eyeing one of the bi-weekly outfits up for her. I know I shouldn't but I want to anyway... lol.

Speaking of Beryl's, here's a quick shot of Iyalisai who has finally claimed another outfit of her own (whilst all my other girls seem to have claimed at least 2 outfits, if not plenty more). Please pardon the hubby playing his game in the background, and the crappy quick shot in less than stellar lighting. >>; Eventually, when this immense amount of snow melts and spring comes, I hope to get her outside for proper photos.

@LiselT Thank you! Your Iyalisai is so gorgeous...that is the "Beryl that Got Away" for me-- I had a car flop exactly when she came out, but I have always thought she was one of the most stunning versions of Beryl, especially since I really like the 2012 body. It's fun to see how well she poses, even for a casual photo.

 

@fishcake : I know how that is! I was blessed by a friend here on the boards commissioning me so I could make my first payment on Iyalisai over there. It's funny, too, because I actually was not all the fond of her in bronze, but when the Dark Moon SO came out I was utterly smitten and gleeful when she came home. I do find she poses rather well in casual moments. I was struck by that when I looked over and noticed it again to snap that quickie, lol!

As for the gray SO Beryl- she was the one I would not let get away. XD; I had asked SOOM several times, politely of course, if there was any possibility of a gray Beryl being released. I normally always talk to hubby when I want to get a doll, she was the only one I warned him that I would not ask, I would jump for, wallet be damned lol! So glad I did. I can't wait to get her blushed to show her a bit more. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I love mine! Then again... I'm kind of assembling and unintentional Beryl army over here.. lol! I have 2 CW, my brown tan and both gray heads. >,>; Eheheh....

 

@LiselT you can never have too many Beryls I keep hoping they will do a purple one like Migma some day. There seems to be a lot of fun fantasy colors available now! And I love her Grumpy Cat face. I have an old Classic one and the LMOD and I feel so lucky to have them! The hoof feet make dressing an adventure though

@LiselT Wow, I love your Beryl, she's gorgeous in that outfit! May I ask how the EID clothes fits on her?

Does anyone noticed that new banner Soom had up? They're coming out with a new doll, Raon? I love the look of the lips.

@fishcake : xD Oh, don't tempt me! I have mentioned that in passing to the hubby as well and that I probably wouldn't be able to resist that. He gave me that look of, "But you already have so many of that one..."

The EID clothes are a bit on her, I do have it pinned in the back on the top (though the skirt seems to fit just fine). I plan on adding either some snaps or some hook and eye closures to make it a better fit if I can manage it, I think. =3

Of course! I don't think it'll fit on either of my SD boys but I can lay it flat or something! (I know, I bought clothes and wigs for a doll I don't even have yet...)

They can! Aww thank you! He's got a lot of fire in him - he just hasn't had a chance to show it yet. I'll find the perfect Varda eventually!

 

@KuroHitsuji I just noticed Raon-- OMG those open lips really appeal to me @_@! i hope i dont love her >3<!!! Also your Breccia is just great!! that faceup is really wonderful and she looks amazing in the Chloe set. Definitely made me feel a little regret i passed on her >_>!!

@jessholy I bought that same outfit from Soom too! It's for a friend of mine actually since I have that set at home already. It's very beautiful and very detailed.

@RoyalBarjack Thank you! I love Breccia's sculpts and she's definitely most beautiful of my dolls. And maybe next time Soom comes out with FCE then you get her for yourself.

Also does anyone know if this is the first time Soom had outfits for sales for the post MD? I would love to get some of the outfits they've released in the past.

 

There is a outfit I should get my Cuprit, but I don't know. I should get her something as well at my other SD girls too.

 

Hm.. seems Raon is a male, and with Breccia style fox paws. I'm kind of disappointed... am I the only one thinking the SG girls are kind of being neglected in releases...? The last one was Morga in October =/. I keep holding out some hope that it's because they are working on another version of the SG female bodies since they revamped the boys. Not that I dislike the 2012 one, I'm just curious to see what they would do. =3

 

Raon is like 100% my style but how can they keep going for cute bishi over the top with this body!
