When they started to arrive, I herd that if you order "additional body" option, soom send second body basic version for some reason =\

So I just got Rang/Dain centaur in the mail. No magnets. Are they no longer providing magnets for the tail/horns part anymore? I would have purchased some if I knew this was the case.

 

I think you should write on board to soom, sometimes they forget to send something small =\

 

The magnets are usually in the bag with the certificate, if they haven't changed the packing.

 

Yeah, guess I have to write them. I have other soom dolls but usually they forget one item but not all magnets. No magnets in the certificate bag.

 

DANG I love your centaur. So pretty. Please share more photos of her!

After I get Ior, I'll have all 3 of my favorite Little Gems.

I hope, hope that they release an Ior in NS this year.. I've been dying for one

I promised myself no more dolls until I save up for a DSLR, but I'm crumbling over here. SOOM is selling Koori in Tawny Skin, and as an unassembled kit?! I could actually afford him if I bought the kit version.

Question - does anyone know if the unassembled kit comes with a box? I'm assuming it comes with a CoA, too.

You have good tastes, @wherethelilacsbloom! I can't wait to see your beautiful Yuki. Did you order her with the eyes opened or closed head (or both)?

 

@NekoNyanMew : Last year, i've got a Xmas kit (.. or the year before ? Don't remember, it was a Teenie Gem Aloa), it didn't come with a box, only strings, doll and CoA. You can buy a poutch in addition

I ordered my Soom Shale Light Centaur as an Xmas kit in like 2014 got him in 2015 with a CoA, pieces were in bubble wrap, the head was nicely covered and no faceup damage from shipping. I think sort of loose in a Soom-labeled cardboard box but wrapped individually and pretty nicely with alining of bubble wrap on the outside if I remember correctly but it's been a while. I haven't heard of anyone's pieces from the kits being broken but I was only paying attention to the centaur kits.
Unless along the way something pretty bad happens to the box I imagine things should arrive without taking damage. Unless there's some really thin intricate parts that might snap. I mean, the centaurs had pretty thick resin and no small breakable parts that might crush each other if the box went to total chaos somehow.

@Nattou, thanks for letting me know. It sounds like SOOM is pretty careful to make sure nothing breaks.

Does anyone know how long the wait times are, as of late? I may be moving in about 6 months, and I'm worried that might not be enough time.

I ordered an Xmas Kit Koori in Tawny Skin!

The full option listing was really tempting, because I wanted him with a default faceup, but it cost an extra $103. I have a great local faceup artist, so the added price just couldn't be justified. I'm still so excited. He's going to be a gorgeous high elf!

I did notice that there was no space to input your state on the shipping form. There was a space for street address, city, and postal code, but not state. I wrote my full address in the comments and asked that they please include my state, but I wanted to know if this has been an issue for anyone else in the US?

As to your question, I am not sure. I don't think I put my state, either. I'm assuming that the zip code is sufficient, but I'm going to message Soom as well.

Testing out Cheshire with a different theme than I had intended for him. Steampunk cat instead of Halloween, because the Leekeworld Metal Arm is too cool not to use on one of my dolls. \o/

Hi I'm wondering about the resin match between SOOM cream white and Dika Doll white?

Does anyone know how well it matches?

 

I can't speak to what Dika Doll's white is like, but Soom's creamy white has shifted a lot over the past few years, so the match might depend on when the Soom resin was made.

Could I please see inside a Tuff/Sueve head?

I know there were different releases and also that Soom changed how they position their stamps and things. So I would like to see the variety of Tuff and Sueve head insides.

I bought mine 3rd hand from a user on here a year ago, without CoA, and am looking to find a match to the inside of mine.

Edit - to clarify, mine has magnet pockets in the forehead (human head) and I don't know why

@windyliu first issue Cheshire white skin was little creamy and now it yellowed a bit.

Ugh, I still kick myself for missing out on the original Serin/Rico release... I doubt I can gather the funds in time but hey, who knows? At least I'll be able to see others' beautiful arctic mermaids!

White makes more sense for it being arctic. I probably sound like an idiot xD my bad. I think i was confused by a few of the pictures, some of them seem darker and others and my Cheshire boy is like bright paper white haha.

 

I went ahead and asked SOOM in their Q&A if they would consider offering NS... just in the off chance.

Def' agree that the WS makes sense for an arctic mermaid but I, for one, prefer their NS.

 

I heard that their newer WS is less yellow than the older CW. So I think I'm willing to give it a try.. :3

Let me know what they say about the NS though! I usually prefer an NS as well.

 

Oh! And @AnnoDomini - I did not get a face up for Yuki I thought it was cute, but I have an artist in mind to paint my Yuki already. ^_^

I DID, however, get a face up for the Serin that I ordered last night :P I kinda love those eyebrows.

They added a NS option for Serin/Rico.

 

Aah! Now Im not sure what to do xD

Soom is good about adjusting makeup for the skin tone when needed.

 

Now that February is here, I'm finally starting to get antsy for my Koori/Yuki to ship. It's been almost 2 months!

Has anyone else heard any news about their December orders?

 

The status on mine was changed to "Before Shipping", but that might just be another stage in production, as I just finished that layaway about 2 weeks ago. I'm not really sure what Soom's "tells" are, about when a doll is getting ready to ship. xD

 

Soom changes the status to "Before Shipping" when the order is fully paid. It will change to "On Shipping" when it is shipped and Shipment completed" when it has arrived.

 

I have never bought a little gem before but those tails on Serin/Rico are so beautiful. I would love them to do an super gem size merboy but until then a little merboy is going to be coming home to me. I ordered white skin with the blue pearl tail

Quick question: Would 16mm eyes look too big in the Koori/Yuki elf head? The eyes I want only come in 16mm, but I wouldn't want to purchase them if the irises took up too much space.

 

Thanks I ordered the face up on the romantic head only as i plan to sell the other one. I ordered some size 16mm eyes too and I hope they fit ok.

Yeah, I'm thinking of just biting the bullet and going for 16mm eyes in my Koori, but I'm worried I won't like the way they look. I just can't find a 14mm pair that I like half as much as these.

 

Oscar doll eyes are stunning. They are what I ordered for my boy in one of the opal colours. I figure since mine is not human it is ok if the iris is larger than normal. I think the ones you chose would look great but then I am new to little gems so maybe someone who has one can show us a picture.

 

I think 14mm will be better. Here is a pic of my friend's Koori with 14 mm glass eyes:

Yeah, I'd assume that 14mm are best, too. That's what looks best in the LG head that I already have, anyway

 

My Rico wears 14 size eyes from Soom!

 

As it turns out I picked up another merboy from a seller on here so now my boys will have company I'm getting this one blank and going to try blushing the black tail myself. It is going to be a fun project. Maybe I will have it done by the time Soom ship the new ones.
That eye size looks great Vitarja I have a few spare 14mm eyes so I will wait for this boy to arrive and try them out on him.

 

@Kavarr wow, congrats on your merboy! ) I was so in love with new issue with blue tail but I did not plan to buy any new doll till summer, so... had to miss this one. Anyway, I already have Serin from first issue and teenie one

 

Update for anyone who placed an order in December:

I asked SOOM for a shipping estimate on my Koori/Yuki X-mas Kit order and they said it should be shipped by the end of this month!

 

My Yuki shipped! She's supposed to arrive to my home by Saturday, according to the USPS website, though I hope it will be sooner
