[Adopted] Soom Little Gem Monthly Mini Doll discussion (part 6)

I wanted to know something from people who still buy from Soom.

I have been having problems with this company, and I buy from them since 2008, but now I am inclined to never more buy from them.

I fell in love with the make-up from Adamelli/Shale Be Sweet release. All the pictures show the girl with rosy cheeks and pink lips. And the boy with a boy face-up, brown tones and thicker eyebrows.

I bought my girl in NS and received the face-up showed on the boy.

I asked soom about this and they said that face-up was according to RESIN COLOR instead of gender. So if I had bought a white resin boy I would have received a boy with those pink cheeks. According to their "logistic team".

So I wonder if anyone here bought from this release.

Since I live in Brazil I can't sue them, but anywhere in the world I would win against them, even in my third world country. We have rights.

First they had said they had make a mistake and now they changed their mind according to "logistic team".

Did anyone has had this issue? Did anyone purchased girl with normal color or boy with white color with face-up?

I will not buy from them again. Maybe here on second market, but only if I really love the doll, not happening lately.

Oh, and sending my doll to get a new face-up to customizer is not the same thing. First I paid for that face-up. Second, it is expensive and I have to pay a lot of money for customs.

 

I think the major problem is the heads are genderless, so it would not surprise me if the makeuper just do the same makeup on NS heads and the same on all WS heads. Thus, I don't think in France, for example, a such trial would be win : you have the makeup shown (the NS one on a NS head)

I understand it must be frustrating !

 

Do you think the face-up are genderless, though? I have had problems with the opposite thing, I had asked Soom to release boy with girl face-up or vice-versa (for splits).

They showed all boys in normal skin and all girls in white skin, but never they said that make-up would be according to resin color. Also the face-up for the boy is very boyish and the girl's is very pink.

Well, this is the last time I buy directly from Soom, never more, last time they refused, after telling me they would refund the shipping costs when I sent them a doll, instead they gave me, after weeks of negotiation, points, but not my money back (not to mention the customs fees I paid again).

 

Sorry you had a problem! My Shale/Ademelli centaur was a different version. I think the faceups were the same on all. It is too bad that Soom was not careful to explain that faceups would be different due to resin color. But they tend to do similar things with all their LittleGems that can be male and female, so perhaps they thought buyers would understand? Sales pages need to be very, very clear, however, to keep from misunderstandings like this.

 

A new released rang and dain light satyros, you can choose only human, only satyros(centaur body) or both. Only Ws, i already have a Dain so i dont need them, but i like the open eyes and elf ears :/,

 

I love the Rang/Dain sculpt and I'm happy they're being re-released! I hope to purchase one when I have the funds and newer options help! I have a Soom Shale away for face up and I'm already looking at more msds though he's my first ^^

My absolute fav is also Dain, but from the first release. I Love her little birdie ears and sleepy face. Also the mermaid Rico is my favorite. She has the most beautiful face of them all. I don't own her, sadly.

Anybody thinking of getting Rang or Dain satyr? I think they are pretty cool, and the outfit is stunning

 

I honestly think all of the soom MSD sculpts are heartbreakingly beautiful. My doll is a Soom smiling Cheshire. He is from a split with a friend. One day this summer I hope to go visit her and bring him home.

 

I was not impressed by satyr release, I think first version of Dain and Rang was more interesting.
I wish Soom will make MSD version of Heart bunnies in tawny skin *__*

 

That would actually be the best idea of soom little gem ever. I hope it happens.

 

If these two were available in Normal Skin, I'd have gone for them. Unfortunately, Soom's Creamy White is not my favorite resin color I'd love to find NS replacements for my other two girls, though that seems really really hard to do.

Is anybody else seeing a HUGE similarity with the two Satyros releases between Soom and Luts? What's with that? They look SO alike! Even the name....

 

I think they have common similarity, they always had in MSD lines, but the centaur body is completely different.
Also, satyros image is very common not only for dolls, but for pictures and etс. So nothing surprising, that they are alike.

 

Actually the centaur body is extremely similar in shape, hoof detail, right down to the jointing and the tail.

 

I had the 2 body in hands (a Littlegem that was mine and a Luts that was a friend's) and the shape is very similar, yeah. The "inside" is different, as the upper legs of the LG centaur are stringed like human legs (in the head) but... Quite the same.

However, it's not "abnormal" for me, cause a well proportionned centaur in this size should be shaped like this... I found the tiny centaurs from Soom too short.

 

I'm talking about Sooms new Rain and Dain. They even took the same name "Satyros" :/ I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm usually a fan of Soom, but this shocked me a little.

Yeah, it bothered me a bit that the two come the same time and are the same "animal".

 

^They probably want to compete with luts' satyr release, like which one you'll give your money when there's two companies offering satyr dolls at the same time.

Gosh, sorry to hear what you've gone through with soom.
Honestly I hate Soom very much. They are bs company. .. but I still buy their dolls since I just love the style so much. Call me a fool, lol.

 

Oh, I forgot to come here and say that apparently now everything is solved. But I had to scream and wrote some things that I didn't want to. I was very angry because I was not asking for anything for free, I just wanted my head with face-up I chose, and I paid for that, except face-up but I was offering to pay for it too.

 

How was it solved, if I may ask, did soom re-do the face up for your doll?

 

I paid for other. Shipping from Brazil to Korea is very expensive and last time it wasn't solved very well, they only refunded me my money in points and it took a lot of time. Also, customs problems, I would have to pay customs (it can be 70 dollars or even more) for something already mine. I already have Shale and Adamelli (both of them) so I was pointing to them that the face-up was the reason I bought the doll. It is clear the girl had that make-up. They are not genderless, though the head is. they have girl and boy body. The boy always had the same face-up and girl had rosy cheeks and pink lips. I wonder if someone got the opposite, a boy with the girl's face-up because of the resin. And the face-up is very different, especially the eyebrows.

And I don't think anyone here bought that release shale/Adamelli especially with face up (?) Or I haven't seen at least.


I wish soom would release some interesting little gem next month.. I'd finally have money to buy another cutie.

 

I ordered a white skin Adamelli with faceup, but she still hasn't shipped yet. I ordered her together with one of the pink bunnies.

 

Did you order girl or boy? If it's girl is alright. I wonder if someone ordered boy with white skin. But I doubt it since most prefer normal skin and most of the time order without face-up. The irony is that I loved the boy romantic head face-up, if I knew... Would have tried to make a split for girl in white resin and bought the boy in normal with blank OE.

We are having issues in getting MSC here in my country so it's more likely to buy the doll with original face-up - it is much cheaper. Not only the new MSC is bad, our country is not letting it in anymore. At least that is what I heard. I still have some cans though.

 

Yeah, white skin, girl body. So I should get what I expected, regardless. I just really liked how they styled her.

 

Hey guys, I hate to derail the thread, but could any Ace/Grey owners remind me if the elastic for the legs hooks on the little nubs in the paws, or on s-hooks? It's been a looong time since I've taken mine out of the box, and I can't quite remember if that's how it works or if I'm missing more s-hooks then I thought, haha.

Ugh, I'm so disappointed.

I was about to order Rang/Dain Satyros last night with the 'C' option when my husband mentioned that maybe I should ask for clarification on the 'human body' parts since it's a centaur doll and maybe the extra human parts would only be the hips and lower legs, and NOT a full extra body.

So I asked them about it on their Q/A board and got a response back... it is only the lower hips and legs you get extra. Not a full satyr body (upper body and satyr lower body) AND full human body. They just expect you to interchange the satyr and human lower parts.

I really wanted to purchase an extra full human body for a floating head I have, and the price difference between option "B" (only the satyr) and option "C" is kind of crazy if I'm only getting legs and hips.

I'll probably still order the satyr... I'm just sad I can't get the extra body for my other head now too. I was so looking forward to making her whole.

 

Oh my, that is really disappointing. ;; It's a shame that they won't offer a full body, sigh, so I understand how hard this is for you. u_u But congrats in advance if you do go with Rang/Dain~ It's a lovely sculpt and I love what Soom has done with the faceup. ;v;

Maybe you could get a body from MP? like if there's a very recent one. Or get body in a split, hmm. Sorry to hear about it, though, but great that you're getting the satyr!

I really love Dain's sweet face and make up. I think I'll have to watch out for her later if she is ever offered in a full choice event. I wish Soom would have taken pictures of the head without wig and horns to show off those little faun ears more.

I was searching for him on the marketplace for ages, even a few days ago, and pining over him with my regret for not getting the first release and now the Cheshire kitties are back! Woohoo! Not passing that up again. I love their color theme. Anyone else getting one of these cuties?

 

You're lucky, @Littlebirdzoom! And absolutely don't miss the opportunity I on the other hand will be left without Cheshire once again, because each time it's released, I have bought another doll. Darn it's timing I so love this kitty. And MP hardly ever sells it, uuugh. I want Soom Cheshire one day, I really do. One day, perhaps, I will be lucky too.

 

I was hoping to see him in NS available in a FCE since I'm not too keen on the face but i love the rest of Cheshire! The smirking face is kinda nice though. Maybe I should get him. My wallet weeps. :'D

 

I didn't even notice Cheshire kitties got re-released until I saw someone post it on IG. I'd be so bummed if I missed the opportunity to get them again. I'm definitely getting them this time. I'm just debating if I should get an extra body or not.

I got to order a NS Cheshire! Can't wait to get him. I wanted one in NS since the first release violet, though the violet was a really nice color.

I also ordered mine in NS though light violet would be really nice too. I originally wanted Cheshire Jr. but who knows if Soom will ever re-release them. For now, I only have plans for the surprise head. I don't know what to do with the regular. I'll probably paint it and see if I'm liking it.

Hello everyone...it's been brought to my attention that my girl Volo / Lux has the basic bust, and I was wondering if there was anyone else who got it? Because Soom wrote on their site that only blossom was available, so I am wondering wtf is going on ? ^ ^; It was my first Soom msd so I had no idea...

 

Just wanted to pop by quickly to show off my new girl!

I ordered the Light Satyros Dain back in July, and she arrived incredibly quickly the first week of September! This was also my first time seeing their centaur dolls in person, and she is so beautifully sculpted! I really regretted not getting Dain when they were first released, and now I have an even better version of her!

She arrived in separate pieces, so I had to learn to string her as I went along. Luckily, it wasn't that hard to figure out, but I'll have to re-string her sometime soon since the elastic they sent was rather thin. I also plan on giving her a faceup and blushing her deer-parts sometime very soon.

I also have not seen anyone else with this specific deer-taur sculpt of Rang/Dain - am I the only one who ordered her? O_O
