OMG!!! When SOOM posted the little animal dolls for the Town Musicians of Bremen, I thought, "Where is the donkey?!" They just posted them... Little Gem donkey-taurs! They even have a picture of all the little animal dolls stacked up on one of their backs. Ah!! So cuuuute! I loved that story so much when I was a kid it almost makes me tempted to buy them all. (Good thing I don't have any money... Lol!)

New girl body but no potos????? i need to see this "small chest" girl body, at last i need a grey donkeytaur in my life, now a hard decisión boy or girl? NS or WS? the outfit i dont need so less money to expend.

 

I just want the forelegs o.e if I wasn't trying to finish five other dolls I'd be tempted to get the centaur part for just the legs lol. But no, sparrow and gadget come first. Speaking of Gadget, I have one payment left til my bronze shale (minus hooves) comes home! Poor guy is temporarily female, at least I hope the gender issue is temporary.....

 

Aw it doesn't have droopy ears like Smokey! That would've made it impossible for me to resist as I love donkeys too.

I posted on the Q&A board as well asking if we would be able to buy the chest piece separately if we already have a little gem. I'm not holding out a ton of hope, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask~ My Tuulikki needs boobs! 8P

Edit: Whoops, didn't refresh, too slow. X3 But I'll keep my fingers crossed Soom allows the separate purchase for the chest piece! I'd could definitely see picking up a few for my girls, if they allowed it.

 

Its still too small for me, but its a step in the right direction I suppose.

 

I hope they will agree, maybe if a lot of people want it they will do it.

So it sounds like you can't buy it seperately right now, but maybe later? Either that or they'll offer future dolls with the chest piece? It's a little vague, but regardless it means you'll have to buy the doll right now to get the small bust.

Everyone who wants the small bust part should write Soom on the Q&A board. The more requests they get, the more likely they are to give in.

 

That's too bad they're not going to offer it right away, but hopefully during a body/parts sale in the future. It's been a while since they've had one, if my memory serves, so maybe we'll get lucky and have one before too long?

Luckily, Soom does seem to be quite good about responding to customer requests.

 

I don't have much interest in this new body. The Little Gem sculpts strike me as being at an age where they wouldn't have breasts yet.

My Yuki arrived today too! Well, at my mom's house anyway. I won't see Yuki until I move back in with parents in a few weeks. The outfits look good! I didn't order them, but they're very cute!

I was just going to ask about the poseability of the centaur body and your picture is one thing I definitely needed to know that it is poseable enough to lay down nicely...another question is the front legs of the centaur body double jointed?

I think I'm going to go ahead and buy the Lody..she is kinda cute though I wish the donkey ears were a little bit larger.

Love to see the fantasy parts that soom has had...makes me wish I'd discovered them when these sculpts were available, fantastic photos!

 

Sorry if this is the wrong place, but could anyone tell me how well soom grey/ace dolls pose?

 

sorry for more questions but does anyone have photos of how the torso and centaur body connect? just curious if it was strung through the body like normal and through the legs or is there a special way the Soom Centaur is strung? thanks

And Kitty Blue, the Little Gem centaurs are strung in the exact same manner as Soom's Teenie Gem centaurs, if you've seen them. There are three loops of elastic that string them together, one for the arms, a "standard" one that goes from a head S-hook down to each of the front legs, and one that rests on a hook inside of the centaur body that goes to each of the back legs. I also finally finished blushing his hooves, tail, and hands, but I still have a little more to do until he is fully "complete". I'll definitely post a picture of him when he is all done~

 

alright so I need to order the donkey centaur like today or tomorrow but I have a question on the light centaurs were the centaur bodies the same size for both boy and girl? They kinda look like they are and it seems silly that they would make two separate ones, but just wanted to double check.

 

Kitty Blue, they should be the exact same body. Technically the Shale/Ademelli Centaurs were "genderless" (as ill labeled by Soom), so there was no gender difference in the centaur body based on the fact that their was no "girl" or "boy" option, but it doesn't appear obviously like they've modified it since, so yes, the centaur portion of the body should be the same for both genders.

... I'm a very patient person, but the wait for my centaur is about getting to me, especially with all the shipping notices for other dolls. It seems they got the FCEs out pretty quickly... *sigh*

 

I've hosted a split to get the soom Yuki parts and checked over the stuff to ensure it's all okay as usual but I noticed on both heads the part where the S hook sits is unbelievably thin, as per the photo below which is compared to my soom grey. Has anyone else had this problem? The heads are not for me but I'm concerned as its so thin it looks like it will snap easily... eep!

 

I would definitely suggest that you post this on the Soom Q&A board.

CathyM, I'm definitely going to do that. Even if they don't do anything its okay so long as they know and hopefully pass on the message as their quality control worries me as of late. otherwise all good :3 just interesting if this doll is a one-off or if others have seen similar.

 

Tee hee...I just saw someone else post a Toothless toy with their doll..so cute. I got to see the movie last night.

Thats what I thought but wanted to double check, wasnt sure if the opening where the torso fit down into it was different or not..I may try to hybrid mine if I do end up purchasing it. thanks!

Same here! Soom really needs to have more FCE for the msd size... Also your centaur boy is an overdose of adorable!


I think overall Soom's msd dolls do tend to pose well, but standing can be tricky depending on their stringing and fantasy parts.

Received my centaur today. Not happy with Soom quality control. Not only is there damage on the lower centaur torso - but the dolls hips DO NOT fit!!!!! For all those who had X-mas kits they had to sand - guess what, I'll have to do something to make her lower torso sit down into the centaur bit Also the seams are VERY bad. Hugely bad. The worst I've ever seen on Sooms. None of my other sooms have had this problem, and I've never ordered the 'seam sanding'
