Congratulations Eolomea. It's wonderful that you were able to get your doll head. I got my ghost girl head from Jeeryama as well. They are great to work with. Can't wait for photos!

It's going to take me a while to start, as I'm moving and currently my doll projects are piling up. But I'm playing with the thought of getting a gender neutral body, the decision for Hayami came when I stumbled across the "shell yourself" thread . I'm female, but I don't want a girl doll (yet?). So it's going to be most likely either a boy, or neuter.

 

Just received a notice that my Rio is on his way!! Should be getting him in January, if not sooner. This is my first Or-doll and I'm excited to see him.

 

Merry Christmas from my Ghost girl Melanie. She is on Spiritdoll elegance body normal skin. It may not look like it, but the resin match is pretty good. I think the body suits her well.

I have been following the artist's weibo. This is a really pretty head. Do not hesitate if you want her. I think she can really handle different styles with different make-ups. I am definitely going for her. Other Or-doll heads are also really cute! I am a big fan of this artist!

I'd bought a Nyxdoll Limos and had her painted by the talented Jay Searle. And now I just saw the two new heads released, Sui and Orlando. I hope I'm not the only one who's looking to have them join the resin family.

Received my Rio head today, in normal skin with OR-Doll face-up. Here he is on a Spirit Doll 2nd ver. Proud Male Body in normal skin. It's a great match in both size and skin tone.

It's such a pleasure to look at all those beautiful dolls in this thread !
Finally my internet is back up again! I was so lucky to adopt a Volks SD13 boy in the meantime, whose skintone matches very well with the whiteskin Hayami head I got. I also like the proportions a lot, I think it's a great match. I won't be able to start working on the head so soon, and those eyes won't stay either, but here he is so far (the mask in the background isn't from Or-doll, it just came in the same order, from JY):

I ordered myself the Lucao Blue Ghost girl head and it's so lovely! It does seem a little large and thus far doesn't match anything I have at home..
Has anyone tried their girl heads on a Mirodoll body by chance? I'd love to see what the scale is like.

 

I have the Qian Red ghost girl (she's so beautiful) and I do agree that her head is on the larger side. She fits really well on the SpiritDoll elegance body. Maybe look at the measurements of that body and compare to the Mirodoll body to see if it might work for you.

Besides, I just visited the Or-doll website after quite a while, and fell head over heels for the new "Lion Cub" head . Isn't he absolutely amazing? I think he would look great with my Unoa boys. He'd look great with any doll, wherever (trying to stop myself from impulse buying, yet there's so much love).

 

@Eolomea - Thanks for the head's up (haha) about Lion Cub. He looks absolutely adorable Love how they've set him up (though I'm totally going to be in trouble if he's ever sold as a fullset).

Wow, satyrsmoon, how can your dolls be so beautiful . I think Or-doll has some of the most exquisite faceups out there and Kingnut is setting the standard so high. Same with the way the dolls are presented, with great care for detail and I can only imagine how much love, and time, went into this .

The word "Or" means "light" in Hebrew, which will not have anything to do with the name of the company (I would like to know what it really means though? In Chinese maybe?). Doesn't change the feeling that there is this mystical aura about them which attracts me so much.

 

Eolomea ! "Or" means "gold" in French, as René is a french first name, I thought "Or" was too, but you might be right. Any way it's a very nice name for such wonderful dolls

I'm still waiting on my NYX-Doll Eris head with face up. I ordered her through jeeryama on 1/23. I'm starting to get anxious since the body I ordered for her will be arriving this week. How long would you guys say this normally takes? I've had only pleasant transactions with jeeryama so I'm not worried about that. But I've never ordered something from this company before.

 

I think it's got to do with the Chinese New Year festival which would have prolonged the waiting time.

@ Venetica I have ordered my Orlando head directly to Rene on the 22sd February (with make up) and it was ready to be sent two days ago. So it takes about 6 weeks, that plus the delay for jeeryama to send it to you I suppose. Also, yes there was the Chinese New Year Holidays, so ..Good luck
I was so emotional when I rceived the two first photos from Rene yesterday !! she had proposed me to let Kingnut free to let her imagination works for the make up... so its a real surprise, by now I have to find who he is going to be, because It's the opposite that what I had in mind lol, but I love him

Yes, Kingnut did the faceup for my Orlando. Originally, Orlando's sales page didn't offer a faceup option (it's why there's a note at the bottom that says that the veins and other details can't be replicated, that's why they're just recommending to commission Kingnut outside of the sale). But when my order was confirmed, Rene asked me if I would like a faceup for Orlando, as she'd asked Kingnut if it's okay to offer that option for him, and she gave me two choices: one was the one you see in Orlando's sales page, and the other was the one you can view in Kingnut's website, and I chose the latter.

Is this your Orlando? If so, he looks lovely.

In person, my Orlando is actually pretty colourful (and sadly my camera doesn't really capture all the details), and there's a lot of lovely subtle shading (like a bluish tint on the cheeks by the ears), and of course, the veins all over his forehead *lol*

It's alright to feel apprehensive when you first see something you're not expecting, but wait until you see him in person. I hope you'll feel as blown away as I felt with mine ^^

 

Kingnut's faceups became something like the holy grail of faceups for me (if the word "grail" wasn't so overused), I hope I would see their work in person one day!
And I don't know, I might have been so blind I haven't noticed that on the Or-doll website there is an explanation for the meaning behind the name "Or-doll". As there's no English translation I can only guess from what google translate tells me, but it seems to have something to do with a certain Buddhist idea of destiny. Meaning, you might stumble upon one doll by accident, but you would have had to meet this very special doll you fall for one day, inevitably. If this makes any sense?

 

So I was looking at the web site and was intrigued by Katrina. But the drop down only says normal but in the description it says normal/white. Since I only buy white dolls (and especially so with vampire dolls) I was wondering if perhaps it's just a peculiarity of the basic web site or do they not make white anymore?

 

Kingnut is really good!! She loves creating and she is quite good at creating. If you could give her free to create（ if she is just in a good mood, lol, artists need inspiration）, she might give you a totally different but excellent one! I love her so much!! She is considering doing faceup for external.（not only for OR-DOLL's doll but also for other dolls）

Nyx travelled a lot these days, and she just came back from Thailand. I asked her about your order.Nyx received your order in Jan and sent it to dresser Hio. But Hio found out that she was pregnant. So we didn't urge her to do the faceup.
In my opinion, could you cancel the faceup order or let NYX to find another dresser to do the faceup.（My dresser KINGNUT is not good at this kind of style, sorry that I cannot help you）

I would like to spare with you my unbeleivable hapiness because of Renne's generosity and high professionalism : it's not one Orlando head I am going to get but .. two !!!
Let me explain you : I already have a Blue Phoenix head which I am deply in love with, but had never ever found the good guy for her, never beautiful enough, delicate enough etc. lol Then I saw Orlando by Kingnut last February and understood HE was the ONE so I asked Renne for a WS one wih face up by Kingnut.
Then, I received photos few days ago and was in tears .. the boy was not the one I was looking for my special project..
I wrote to Renne, we both discovered that we misundertood one another and Renne with much elegance offered me another Orlando head face up by artist Kanana which is EXACTLY the face up I had been looking for.
Then the day after I had a look at some more photos of the head with face up by Kingnut, discovered that it was much more beautiful than I thought and that he even had teeth ! I asked Rene if he was still for sale and ... YES he was !
So by now, thanks to Rene, I am to have two Orlando, one WS, the other one NS, both with face up made by two great artists.

About the name: Dear Rene761 it must be amusing to read what we're guessing it means, now I feel like a nervous student hoping their master will introduce them to a deep teaching (I am working on a faceup for my Hayami head (could be I need more time for this), so there's plenty of time to meditate on it).

Thank you, I appreciate you looking into my order. But I have to admit I'm a little miffed that I've been waiting around this long and was not given this information. I don't want to cancel the face up. I don't mind NYX finding someone else to do the face up, but I want it to look as close as possible to the default face up shown in the promotional photos.

 

Marian, my Or-Doll Hayami on Volks SD13 body, finally got his first faceup! Hopefully I will be able to take him outside soon before the trees aren't blooming anymore. Next his mask, a manicure, and then another try on his face .

 

My two Orlando heads have arrived, and I feel so emotional ! The one by Kingnut is vey colorful but so so subtil !!! with blue under the eyes and the lips, and tiny bue veines on the forhead .. a real treasure. The work on the skin is stuning, a truth peace of art.
The one by Kanana is totally different, very pale, nearly a gost, and he is exactly what I needed this is how two same sculpts makes totally different dolls by the end.
Renne has been great from the beginning to the end. Great artist, great seller.

I agree she has a very childlike look. Doesn't fit with any of my other dolls, but I do love her sweet face.

 

I need a body for my Sui head--any suggestions? Not Spiritdoll Proud as another head is destined for that body. Am considering Dollstown 18, but I'm just not in love with it. What other good options are there?

I still need a body for my Anderl head, I was thinking Mirodoll but it has 10cm neck while Anderl needs 9cm. Ill try him on my Angel Street body.

However I visited the site (I was long time out of hobby) and now Im in love with Sui! Id really love her with her first face up but its sold out, at least she's available at all.
