Luxury as already said SD17 clothes fit pretty well to MiroDoll boy body, keep in mind that even some hoodie in SD size can fit!

 

Thank you everyone. The shipping company that was sending my parcel actually contacted me yesterday. it wasn't DHL and neither was it Citylink express...It was some company named Dragonlink express. Nevertheless I have rearranged for a Saturday delivery. Despite the little hiccups I will still be receiving my doll body so...i hope for photos this weekend

I sent my XM William off for a faceup shortly after I got him, and he came home today! Introducing, GRANT! He's a bit obsessed with aliens, but otherwise, fairly normal, lol.

He's amaaaaazing! You should submit it to Miro, maybe they'll use it. It looks sooooooooo much better than the factory pic. Reminds me of Shaggy. *LOL* I am really wowed!

 

I had no idea sending in pics for their possible use was even a thing! Is there a link or a specific email address or something one would use to potentially offer them the use of a photo or two?

TipsyFox, I don't know. Bobobie allowed Charie Wilson's pics on their site, but I've never asked Miro. Let me ask them. Can I show them your pic? Or maybe we can just ask them to set up a personal gallery as Impldoll and other sites have, so owner pics can be seen. Maybe that'd be better. I'll talk to them. Your boys are awesome!

 

I'll be curious to see what they say. Seems like a lot of the less expensive doll companies don't have photos that do their dolls justice, which is sad since so many of them have amazing potential!

I sent the email asking... either a gallery on their page or our flickr album link on their site. We'll see what they say. I also sent them a headcap that matched Volks yellow and many other yellow resins offered out there since their NS is pinky, which is awesome! So instead of headcaps going all willy nilly through the mail there and back for yellower matches, I'm trying to convince them to just add the yellow skin to their offerings. We'll see what happens.

My ebony Mika is on her way! This is a special color- darker than dark chocolate but not a true black. I'm really excited about her, can't wait to see her.

 

She sounds like my 'Wesley Snipes' toned boy. He is somewhere between black and drk chocolate. An accident as far as I can tell, but I love it!

Has anyone ever asked Miro to do a custom face up? Do they do them and if so what were they like?
I have not yet got the confidence to do a faceup especially as the doll I want to order is WS.

TO ALL: Miro will be happy to use owner pics on their website (those who send out for a faceup /might/ need permission from the artist, but basically you pay for the artwork and it becomes yours afterwards. Like ghost painting) and may even offer compensation for the privilege. We have a Flickr album for Miro doll owners but the government of China has blocked access to the site, so Miro can't view the site or even Youtube. Some of you know Miro had a forum for a short time, but a hacker got to it and they had to take it down. They can purchase a new site away from the Miro site now (where the old forum was) and are willing to consider that if we think we'd like it, but they did ask if we could make a gallery on DoA... now, we do kind of have this already. There's a picture share thread here on DoA for Miro pics and I think perhaps few use it... maybe we can use it more diligently? I am guilty- I've not posted a single pic here! It's for pure Mirodoll dolls, so we'll keep the hybrids separately.

Thank you Chalyss!! The weather has been a bit dreary and gloomy lately so i haven't been able to go outside for pictures. But i promise i will have some good one to show. Over all, the Leekeworld Normal Skin matches the Mirdoll Normal skin pretty closely. And what little difference there is, it's not too noticeable, however because of Spencer's faceup, you can spot it a little easier.
Regardless, I'm very pleased with the results!

 

Wow Chalyss thanks for the headups i wasn't aware about this, poor MiroDoll...btw is their official web site ok?Is still running?
Also can we post pics of hibryd?To show body blushing, tattoes and such?I will share more than glady if this can help

Hello, $isters! The Miro main site is fine, thankfully. Just the Doll City forum they had went down. I wish Flickr worked for them but some governments do block out certain sites that might... incite, I suppose... their citizens to contrary thoughts and behaviors than what they've established. Can we put the hybrids on the database thread? Does the database need to be pure only? We have a hybrid discussion thread but maybe we can start a Miro hybrid picture-only thread? Would the mods be cool with that? So a pure Miro database and a hybrid one? It'd be nice not to have to wade through a bunch of hybrid talk but just see pics for those who use Miro as a body store. Just find resin/company matches from owners and such, minimal verbiage. I would like to see this.... what about the rest of you? A compilation of pics on one, discussion on another (but still welcoming pics)?

 

has anyone heard of any timeline on the heads for the 70cm girl body? I'm intrigued by the body, but I want to see a head before I decide :P

My body is being shipped too. However, I got a message from DHL saying that it was scheduled to ship on Friday. I was waiting but there was no delivery and I haven't heard anything since. The online tracking also stopped on Friday. I wonder what happened.

 

When I checked tracking yesterday, it showed that it had gone from Sacramento (I live in a remote area of Northern CA) to Cincinnati. So I called DHL and they said, no, it had not. What happened is that it was handed off to a 3rd party delivery service, since DHL doesn't come here, and the anticipated date of arrival here is Wednesday now.

 

I'm also from Northern CA. Actually I got deliveries from DHL many times before as I get a lot of stuff from Hong Kong, I never had any problem with them so hopefully it'll be fine this time as well.

 

I was told that DHL doesn't come here (Mendocino Coast), but honestly, it does seem to me like I have gotten deliveries from them before. My tracking doesn't work any more, so I don't have any way to try to figure out what's going on. It may be that they will deliver it to the post office, which of course is not open today. A lot of times I get packages delivered to the post office that are not USPS. Must be some kind of agreement they have with the other carriers.

 

And she's here! Knock on the door, and there was the guy. He said it wasn't enough of a holiday for them to take the day off and then have twice as many packages to deliver the next day. So YAY! I had ordered Ebony with instructions to make it the dark chocolate another person had ordered. Unfortunately- nothing chocolate about this color at all. So that somehow got lost in translation. But I still love her- love the dark color, and love her features. I wanted a doll that wasn't just dark-skinned, but had actual features that look like she might have African ancestry, instead of some dark-skinned dolls that just have Causasian features cast in dark resin. Still haven't done a face-up - will have to think about this for a while. I want her to be very natural and a little wild.

Such sorry that MiroDoll failed to understand what you means for ebony but she's awesome as well, looking forward to see her with a face-up!

 

Mika looks great in that ebony color, can't wait to see her all finished. She's seriously a pretty sculpt, I love mine, and I'm tempted to get another one in normal, maybe on the 63cm body.

 

WOW! She's like an awesome blue-black color! Not their normal black but... wow! She's amazing! CONGRATS, Cirquemom! She looks a bit wild as-is! I can't wait to see more of her, especially with a faceup!

 

A very quick face-up. I did a face-up for her, sprayed with MSC and when I came back the whole thing had clouded. It's very humid here right now- maybe that's what caused it? Anyway I had to wipe it all, then just threw a bit of color on cheeks and lips and some pink/gold iridescent powder on her eyelids. When the weather is better I'll redo it.

 

How cute! I love that color, even if it didn't turn out the way you wanted.

Try something other than MSC--it's the worst on dark resins.

 

What do you recommend? I was very surprised! I thought MSC would HIDE sanding marks, and instead the entire face was clouded.

 

Wow, I'm surprised about the MSC clouding, too. I'm thinking of giving my black Mika a final seal with gloss, to make her slightly more like an ancient idol than a doll/person. I swabbed the inside of the head with nail polish remover and a bit of tint came off on the swab, so I want to extra careful with this faceup. Maybe I'll use a stencil for the basic eyebrow shape. I also have burnt sugar and white resin Mikas, which I will be selling eventually. I just wanted to challenge myself to do faceups on different resin tones. For the white one I'll be looking to model Diandra Forrest for inspiration.

 

I was surprised too. The first coat I gave her was fine. But the second coat was later in the day, clouds had moved in, and it was a different can of MSC.

MSC doesn't do well on darker skinned dolls. I used Purity Seal on my dark Mika and that doesn't cloud at all.

 

Someone just recommended that to me on the mirodoll facebook page. I'm going to have to get some.

I have found that on the dark skin (my Mika is almost black) the usual technique of using pastel powder to give eye shadow etc. doesn't work with Putrity Seal, the color just disappears . Possible it wouldn't have worked with MSC either, but I never tried MSC on my Mika...

 

Oh, lol, I wondered.
What I did with the iridescent powder I used on her eyes was painted her lids with matte varnish, then sprinkled the powder on while it was wet. Not optimum, but it did work.

Honestly i've experienced that purity seal is pretty good on dark and tanned resin, i had no issues with pastels but you need to coat pretty good the resin otherwise colors wouldn't stay

 

I dunno- I used like half a dozen coats of MSC on my dark choco Wind and it worked very well, no clouding. I did a lot of coats to check how it worked on dark tan and I was amazed it did so well. I used the same can of MSC though, shook it super well (to warm it) and held it further away than I would with lighter resins. But the area of the world I'm in is blessed with super low humidity and awesome conditions for MSC. I have heard tale some Purity Seal users have had bad results with their dark tans too (Fishcake had that problem I believe), so maybe it's the can and/or conditions?

She IS super awesome though! I hope you figure it out on her!

 

I really don't know what could cause the clouding issues, i remember that i've used once on my first bjd a DZ in dark yellow skin, almost mustad color it was the very first bacth of DZ resin colors and clouded as well.IMO MSC react badly to humidity other sealent doesn't, that's basing on my experince of course related also to weather and humidty of my area
