[Adopted] Migidoll General Discussion, Pt. 3

Does anyone know about Souldoll's white skin? I have a-type white which is really creamy. I know DF-H is a good match but it seems like a lot of companies are making their white skin paper white nowadays? Is it just the companies I've been looking at? XD I do have a ns cho coming.... and the tan oof that will be a struggle to match.

 

I received Souldoll whiteskin hands today and they are indeed paperwhite.

 

Ah man. That's a real shame! Maybe I'll get a body in their ns for Cho...

 

I'm a huge fan of the Zenith girl body, though I haven't tried either of my Migidoll heads on in (the heads are WS-B and WS, so can't help with matching). It makes her a good bit taller than my Ell, which is fun for me in this case.

Aaah, I hate packing. I couldn't recall what box I put my Jina head in, since I packed everyone last week, so I had to double check the boxes and found her in the shipping box inside of the box I use for soft props (outside box is nearly crushproof, so I give kudos to past IceMutt's intelligence).

 

I just can't seem to win. Doll Legend doesn't seem to have 1/3 girls. I'm considering Granado but it's not my favorite. A list would be helpful since so many companies seem to change their skin tones.

 

Well I found another one called Clover Doll, which does seem to offer some girls as well. And I emailed the company asking for some samples or photos they may have of the resin color. Seems to me is not a bad choice. I think they have girls bodies, and the lady seems very helpful, maybe worthwhile emailing her. If all goes to pot with me, I am going to Classy Doll, which is Korean, and I had a girl helping me out with some photos. Her migidoll head is older and yellower, the body looks pinkish, as in similar to the new migidoll NS. And they DO have girl bodies

 

I finally got my First Migidoll Ryu, let me introduce you to Sabrian. Right now I am looking for a masculine body, his resin color is Normal. Does anyone has any suggestions for a masculine body that could match his resin color and neck girth?

If he is the new batch of NS then we are all in the same bucket looking for possible matches. Would you take a photo of him just showing his color on natural light? then at least with some lists I have compiled of possibles I might be able to play around with suggestions.

So I finally finished up my semester and got around to catching up with this thread, and as usual everyone's dolls are gorgeous! I don't have any new pictures of Aiden to share with you all, but I'm currently working on sewing my first ever item of doll clothing, a shirt, for him, so I may post a picture of that when it's done!

Oh my gosh, Sabrian, he looks so fantastic! Wow, his faceup is so lovely! Unfortunately, I can't be of any help as far as a body goes, as my only Migidoll is a lot older and rather yellowed, but I wish you luck in your search!

Please keep the photos coming everyone! Migidolls are so lovely to see spam of!

 

Sorry I can't help with the resin colour trouble, but I hope everyone manages to find bodies soon!

In the meantime, Kai's wig and outfit have arrived and he's pretty much complete

 

So a small update on Njáll, I think I've finally found a body that will fit (resinsoul's 70cm body, it will be modded to hell and back so I don't feel like spending too much in case I fuck up)
Aaand, I sort of experimented with his head since he needed a new face up anyway and uhm, I think I accidentally made him into a demon?

That doll factory one looks like the white might even be a good match for my a type. It's the right size too... mmm thanks! I might go for that.

I may go to the Doll factory NS however, thanks to the previous photo of the migidol I can see the similarities with the NS. The new batch of 2015 certainly seems to focus a lot on a pinkier color.

Hello everyone! Looking to join the migi party. Are all of their dolls limited or do they have set times when they open pre orders? I am in desperate need of a Ryu or a Jina in my life. I've loved them since I first got into the hobby but didnt' want SDs. Now I have an F60 girl and she needs a boyfriend ^____^

 

Preorders generally open around the beginning of the month for certain dolls. You can also sometimes nab a doll from the Surprise section of the site. I have a Jina and I love him - I'm hoping to snag a Ryu too one of these days!

 

Thanks! I wandered around on the site and eventually did find in the notices where they announced the April/May preorders and I JUST missed a Ryu! If one of the booths is selling a Ryu or Jina head at doll north like they did last year I might just have to splurge and get one.

 

Wanted to share a photo of my Miho since it's been a while since he's been out My Jina, Ryu and other Miho are still gathering dust lol.

A REQUEST NOW, ANYONE WHO HAS A NS 2015 MIGIDOLL, could they take a photo in natural daylight?? I am trying to compile as many as possible companies for you guys who want to make hybrids to choose from

What do you guys think about Fairyland tan with migidoll tan? I thought it might work and I noticed they opened up tan option for the feeple65 with their new event. I really like the Ringdoll body but I'm afraid the tan might be too orange. :<

 

[MENTION=50874]Vividstar[/MENTION] I used to have a ringdoll sol in the early 2011/2012, and unless they changed the resin formula, that tan was really like Jershey Shore's sprayed-on orange tan ^^; it doesn't look like it'll be a good match for migi's natural-looking tan....

/sigh I wonder when my Black Knight Cho would be shipped :/

Got my migi heads this afternoon. ^^ The tan is beautiful, but very ashey and... well, brown. I love it though. It seems to be the same tone as their normal, a more yellowy neutral shade.

I'll take pictures, but some good news. It looks like their normal skin is the same as their old normal type-A. I have a Mir in that skin tone and it looks the same to me so anything that used to match type A normal should still match this new normal. I have my Mir on a Limhwa body, so Limhwa will probably match though it is a little pinker than MD. Also I've found that my OT Hujoo SD girl (abs) is almost perfect match oddly enough. I'll link some photos of that if anyone is interested.

As for the tan, it's going to be tough... A lot of tans I see are very warm, red or orange based, where as this tan is very cool and yellow based. Here's a sneak peak:

 

Which bodies would you guys suggest for a Migi head? I'm not super picky about Resinmatching. It's more important to me that the head fits the neck with minimal bobble. Everyone I ask is steering me away from the migi body.

 

i got the BNB16 body for my v.ell and i actually like it except for the knee and elbow joints can be a bit..''lets turn around '' because there is not a ''stopper'' that prevents them from goin all over the place when bent x) but other than that it is actually a nice body

other than that i know the popodoll body have been very popular combining with migidoll

 

Chingling, it was that LE faceup that drew me in too. He really wasn't in the budget, but I at least I was able to get the head with the Black Knight makeup. I'm very excited for him to get here as he'll be my first Migi doll.

Here's my normal skin comparison for the new normal(middle head cap). From the bottom foot clockwise, there's:

Ringdoll, Dream of Doll, Limhwa, Migidoll type-A, Doll Leaves, and two Fairyland.

Ringdoll is a tad darker, but I think it would work. Dream of Doll is too light. Limhwa, type-A, and Doll Leaves all seem to match really well. Fairyland is too pink. I also have some NP hands from DF-H I just remembered, those are too light and pinker in case anyone was considering that.

I'm a little confused though, because Sabrian's photo looks very pink, but my head is definitely on the yellow side?

 

@Senko I only bought the head too! I actually had enough to get a body but frankly speaking... neither the bnb nor migi bodies were particularly attractive to me.

As for migi hybrids the most common ones I've heard of are spiritdoll, popodoll, and maybe volks. The switch HD65 bod is not bad too, since it's similar to the volks sd17. I'll post some hybrid pics when BK Cho arrives.

@Vividstar That tan! My gut instinct is screaming iple realskin! Though resin-matching wise, it's probably a long shot. You might want to take a look at luts? I'm thinking that their light tan or brown might make a good match.

 

[MENTION=51077]Chingling[/MENTION] I'm not too big of a fan of the Migi bodies either, but seeing as he'll either be bodiless or put on a temporary Miro doll body, I'm not too bother by Migi doll's choices. I do like the Switch body, I can't wait to see your hybrid pics.

Has anyone seen the new dolls on Migi's web site yet? I'm really liking new Siho and dreaming Jina.

 

Me too!!! I am confused becuase yours could easily pass for my own A type, while the other in Sabrian's looks pinker O__o.... i am thinking to wait till my own head gets here, and take photos with the rest of my migi crew, just to see what is what, and what fits with what

 

I was thinking iple real skin too! The luts light tan might be ok, but it looks a bit too light and more red tones. The brown definitely looks too dark, but I haven't seen any owner photos yet, just their sample on the website. I think iplehouse is a good bet but it's an expensive guess. Isn't everything in this hobby though? XD

I'm curious to see other people's items with the "new normal" skin and whether it's pinky or yellowy. Looks like we're getting mixed results so far!

 

I went to check out those new dolls and I have to admit I'm sorely tempted by the Janus Miho that's going back up for sale... But I have a girl that still needs completing. Sigh why are there always too many lovely dolls and not enough money?

 

Mine is on the Doll Leaves 70cm body (actually 67cm tall with head). It's not a perfect resin match. My Migidoll head is old Normal B which is quite yellow and the Doll Leaves body is more pink. It's most noticeable in low light. The neck fit isn't bad and I like the proportions.
