[Adopted] Migidoll General Discussion, Pt. 3

I would like to get a yujin for my girl. She had two ryu's and a vampire ell, I have a fairy jina, a formerly dreaming ell, and a mu that should be home later this week with any luck. The mu will have to wait for a body but the other two... I just love them and I know he'll fit right in!

 

Old or new Yujin? As far as I can tell there are some definite differences in them. I sort of want to see one of the new ones in person so I can do comparisons.

 

I think it was the newer release we had looked at. Really it was the almost smirk that got us. The character is initially arrogant and snarky, then quite tragic, and I felt the yujin was a strong enough sculpt to embody both things. We thought the Kay at first, but the Kay can't do tic and there is a lot of trajic before he returns to being content.

 

I'll actually be in the position to do a comparison between the old Yujin and Kay shortly if you've got interest in that. I feel the expression between the two Yujin's is a lot the same, they just refined the sculpt a lot. I'm pretty sure the nose and mouth are a tiny bit smaller based on photos.

 

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I don't think any of you have yet met my boy, as I've honestly been a bit scared to post here, with all of your gorgeous dolls and nice cameras, but I suppose today's as good a day as any to bite the bullet! Everyone, meet my Ryu Aiden! He got all dressed up in green for St. Patrick's day today and kept posing for me, the dork.

Oh my Aristotle is just gorgeous. He's the one I need that's for sure he'll come home soon enough.

I worked on Dietric today, speaking of Ells. You'll see why i say he was formerly a sleeping Ell but is not any longer. I need to spray him a few more times and do his gloss and lashes I couldn't resist wanting to see one of his eyes in him though. I love him so much! He reminds me of Jim Morrison. Once I have him done, I wanted to do a few pictures of him that look like those really famous black and white shots of Jim. Dietric Evnstar is another of my wolves. I hope you think he's pretty so far

 

Hello, I have a question, there's someone that are thinking to order a migidoll from the european dealer, Think Pink? Because this month migidoll preorder end on 30 march, I want to buy a doll throught them, but to avoid a long waiting time, there's need they more orders from Migidoll before place the order (as they order just when they reach a minimun quantity of dolls or stuff from Migidoll company). So I wonder if there's people that are going to order by Think Pink this month, so that they can process the order more fastly, instead of wait 2 or 3 months before they get the right number of order. Thanks for the information ^^

I still haven't really decided on a color scheme for Aristotle, i was surprised how different he looked when i changed just his wig and eyes!

 

My Kay arrived yesterday Now I just need to find time to paint him XD



Technically the tan Ryu he's paired with also needs painted, but I need much warmer weather to work with tan OTL


And because I am an airhead or something I totally missed that I won one of the tiny dolls they drew for in December o_o So I got a nice little surprise along with the package. This is what she looks like. (Linked because she's not a 60cm+ Migidoll, so tecnically off-topic for this thread XD)

 

That would make sense. They're all too pretty for their own good, and they know it too.

He's beautiful! His eye modding looks so great! I can't wait to see him when he's all done!

Oh wow, he really does look different, and so great too! I'm not sure which look I like better either... he's so gorgeous either way!

It is pretty amazing how different Migidolls can look with different wigs, though! I changed Aiden's wig yesterday, and he looks almost like a different doll! (I'd share a picture, but I'm at school right now. =P)

Well, if it's any consolation, they both look fantastic blank! Migidoll sculpts are so gorgeous and expressive on their own, they don't even need face-ups!

Everyone's boys are very handsome. I'm still working on saving up for my poor VE Ell's body, so can I get some Ell spam to tide me over? Bonus points if he's on a Spiritdoll body.

carmarilla - I'm always happy to supply some Ell spam! (mine's on a Doll Leaves body though)

 

Migiboys and Migigirls are so beautiful, and soooo changeable (Shut up, Moriarty )...
I'm also amazed how different they look with different face ups or wigs...

And Aristoteles looks so great on the BNB body, and it looks so slender on him, even the bulky neck...
I still don't like that body on my Ell, but he's wearing turtle necks at the moment

Ohh, btw: My first edition Kay will be shipped tomorrow..wohooo ^^
My Jina head is with the face up artist, but I still need a FDoll body for him (love that body) and...I'm thinking about of buying a sister for him... A Jina girl.

 

I did not get my Kay head yet. USPS sent him to the wrong zip code. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Migidolls fault...I think that someone can't read and thought a 5 was a 6. :/

I do have a slight problem with having Irises that are too big for my taste for my Yujin D8. His eye slits are really small D8 Does anyone have any recommendations on brands i could buy from that have smaller irises? My ujin wears 14mm and 12mm are too small for him.

I've started getting eyes from Captured in Glass now and they are my faves. They will do custom size for you and you could get 14mm with 12mm irises for example. The eyes I have in my Ell are way too big for him really - they were for a different doll, but he grabbed them first! They are 16mm with 14mm irises. Definitely take a look at Captured in Glass - they have a good range as well as doing custom orders and they are not expensive and deliver quite fast. (And I'm not getting a commission for recommending them..... unfortunately! )

Migi writes their 5s a little weird, and a few different people have had issues with the post getting confused and mis-routing. (I had a previous package from Migi take a trip to the northern part of my state.)

Someone eventually thinks to look at the city and they figure it out, though.

 

Wanted to run out and take a few shots of Liber (Ell) with the overcast sky, but it's a lot more cold, wet, and nasty than I was ready for. So my sorcerer and his tagalong did not get to go out in the mud. I'm going to have to futz around and see if I can find a way to make his vivid green eyes show up in photos as well as they do in person.

My lucky box has been presumably in customs the past two days (latest update JFK on Wednesday). I'm out of town from Mon-Thurs or so, I kind of doubt I'll find out what I got until I get home.

tKitazawa: Oh dear really? I had no idea! Well he is home safe now. I looked at the label and I personally think they did a good job with the handwriting, I didn't have any issues reading it, but oh well.


He is beautiful, I'm super happy with the face up and the eyes. I really need to save for a body, he is too beautiful to be a floating head. But I also got a free little doll? I'm so confused! It says "Donation Doll". Inside the head it says "Beau". It's so tiny compared to all of my SD's.
I'm touched they would do that. He came with tiny playing cards too.

Everyone's dolls are so lovely! The spam from this thread is pretty much my favorite ever, please keep it coming!

And after everyone's gorgeous pictures, I really want to apologize in advance for the super crappy cell phone pic I'm posting that decided to focus better on the Hulk cup then the doll, but I just couldn't not post it.

Anyway, on to the story. I decided to swap Aiden's wig the other day to try out a new one, and while I'm still not quite sure what I think of it, I do believe Aiden himself approves, seeing as this is how he decided to pose himself while I was changing him...

I really need to get a photo of my Fairy Jina, Saoirse. Her 12mm Mehi Art eyes finally came in from Poland and I'm a little in love with them.

Wow. I already have a Cho head. So for the luck bag (purchase notes), I told migidoll "ANY head except Cho head because I already have Cho."

Guess what head they sent to me :-(

I got home today and opened my box! I was so excited I didn't take pics of the packaging though I was quite amused by all the layers. Took a cell pic (combined them for posting) of my eyes, which are lovely but I got home late and it was starting to pour, so no good way to get a shot of them yet. I got a Jina!

 

LuvPetdolls - oh no! I get the feeling maybe Migidoll aren't always too great at taking some notice of the purchase notes.....

Quick picture of my Jina - I'm thinking I'll call him Pascal (Pax for short), but Levi and Drew are both contenders as well. No character yet, but he has a very white theme going on, so I'm thinking I'll make him my tattooed rainbow boy! White is a good canvas for rainbows

 

I'm excited to see pictures of everyone's new arrivals. I had wished that i could have gotten one of the lucky bags but I already have a number of floating heads and i swore to get people bodies before i got more heads. I have been working on Dietric a little bit here and there. He's so pretty. I just glued in his lashes and am waiting for it to dry before I put his eyes in. I have his tattoos roughed in and I wanted to see the proportion of them with his head so... he's balancing. I am pleased so far. I just love the way he feels. Now I get to start tweaking him so his body matches better. Wish me luck!

Maybe you can give him a completely different face up than your fist one...or make a girl out of him?

I also had a bit of a chaos with my order.
Before I ordered Kay I asked them if I can have Kay with the first face up, instead of the new second face up. They told me, that they have a head with an old face up and that I can write it in the order notes...and also that they'll send me a fitting body in old NS B like the head.
So I did. I also got a confirmation because of it.

Ok, Kay got delivered yesterday...but with the second face up. I contacted them and they were very sorry and told me, that they will send the right head out today and that I should send my wrong head back.
The problem is, that the old head is NS B, but the body I got for my delivered Kay is in new NS.
So I would have a non fitting body to my head.
I asked now if I can keep both heads, and if they would give me a discount on the head....I guess it's easier to find a fitting body to the old NS B than for the new NS.

And yes, haha, what should I say...at first I was disappointed cause of the dark face up (why I ordered the old face up)...but slowly I'm falling in love with that little charmer
I hope Migi is okay with my "Deal"

The difference between the new resin and the old NS-B is fairly slight, so it may not bother you as much as you think. That said, it's definitely closer to NS-A imo.

 

Hm, I have a Ryu head in skin B and placed him on the new body and it doesn't look that good.
But it's okay, I keep both, so Kay 2 can keep his body

 

He looks good. Maybe you can get used to him?

Ah, I feel kinda bad here. I'm not feeling fond of the paper-white shade of my Jina head. I love the creamy yellow-white that I ordered my Ell in (The WS-B) but my only other WS doll is my Pipos cat, which doesn't seem to bother me because I didn't have to paint her. XD
