[Adopted] Mature 1/6 Dolls

Sep 27, 2012

    1. Yay, congrats. I look forward to seeing what you do with yours. Which skin colour did you choose? :D

    2. I got the tan! It's so pretty, I can't wait to get her... :D

    3. Congrats on the new dolly! I love the Magic Mirror dolls, they are just lovely! I really want a Siobhan. My dream girl dollies are Siobhan in tan and a Momoni in cocoa skin.

    4. Me too! Good choice :D. I usually prefer paler skinned dolls, but the tan for May is just such a gorgeous shade :O.

    5. Congrats to all those ordering new mature tinies! I just did my first face-ups on three mine over the last few days. I found it pretty hard with such small faces.

    6. Would love to see your face-ups @Leo Phoenix. I'm beginning to quake in my boots at the thought of doing a face-up on tiny May.

    7. Has anyone received a Maskcat 26cm girl at all? I was wondering if you could share anything about them. I will be sending the second half of my layaway the first week of November for a Feline and don't really have anything for her stowed away for when she arrives except a wig and some eyes.

    8. QuietYurei - I don't have a doll from Maskcat, but I have mature tinies from several different companies, and Mattel Barbie stuff fits some of them. I've heard Momoko clothes will fit dolls of this size.

And here's a picture of my first face-ups on some of my troop-

    9. They're lovely! I adore how tinies kinda look like sprites hanging out at your home. XD
That's a beautiful and comfy looking couch! Which brings me to the question which scale furniture/other stuff fits best? I wanna get a motorbike for one of the OCs I want to shell as a tiny.

    10. @heliocoelin 1/6 scale works best! Fashion doll stuff for Barbie, etc. A motorcycle will probably be an easy find...! I think that the ones for like Hot Toys, etc action figures would probably do nicely. Furniture and stuff specifically for YoSDs might be too wide though. I get fashion doll stuff.

    11. @Idoru Thank you so much! That really helped. I already found something... apparently Mattel made a Harley Davidson Fat Boy for Barbie and that's exactly what I'm looking for! :D

    12. I've been busy and sick at the same time, so I caved and bought my 1/6 couple wigs instead of making them myself. I am glad I did- they are custom fit by the dollmaker herself (AncientTales) and beautiful!

Here is Ashoshkit, my lady doll, in the first prototype of her yucca skirt.

The rest of the update to their progress is here.

    13. Gorgeous!!

    14. The only thing what can I say about this is "One man's meat is another man's poison".
About a same doll one can feel it mature while others may don't; It really just depends on each person's "feelings", as you know.

    15. I'm a big fan of the smaller scale as well, being sure that they are mature. I just don't really like child dolls, they kind of put me off. Creepy... But I'm working on sculpting my own mature tinies, though they aren't near to completion yet.

    16. I have a march doll. 1/6 would like to buy clothes that are mature where could one get them?

    17. A march doll? I don't think I'm familiar with those! Do you have a link? There's a lot of places to get clothes!

    18. @Rosslyn Beautiful! Love the body blushing on her! The wig fits really nice looks very natural.

Since we're talking clothes right now... Has anyone dressed their mature tiny in Azone Pure Neemo clothes? Especially their boy's shoes, do they fit male mature tinies? I'm looking at some pretty cool boots right now on AmiAmi but I can't find any measurements.

    19. I think their shoes are very likely too small. It depends on the doll-- most of my Xagadolls, Limhwa ToYou and my Soom Faery boy all can't wear Azone anything, really. Azones are pretty small, even the boys!

    20. @Idoru Thanks! Dammit that would've been too good to be true. ;A;
What kind of shoes do your tinies wear, if I may ask? I can sew alright so making clothes isn't so much of an issue but shoes are a
      hard to make.

    21. HEH well shoes are definitely my biggest challenge! The bigger boys (Soom Faery, my Xagadoll Ken) can wear Ken/action figure/etc shoes. And my one Xagadoll girl (the Mini Ann I have on the small bust body) comes with an extra pair of feet that are smaller than the default. For Tomoki (Xagadoll Sylvia boy) and Ruka (my Limhwa).... Ugh. SOME of the Ruby Red Galleria 30mm shoes fit and don't look too chunky. For Tomoki there's a Taobao seller who makes shoes specifically for that body. They're pretty basic but they are definitely better then nothing.

Honestly, I have been going the route of learning to make shoes at this point... Maybe if the size gets more popular someone will make them but the 30mm feet are really tough. :/

    22. It is hard to make tiny clothes but it helps to say the least to look for mature tiny on ebay and such. noticed skipper barbi and monster high dolls fit 1/6 doll I have.

    23. Right, I've seen some really well sculpted action figure shoes but I'd be nice to have actual shoes with soles and laces like the ones you can get for the big dolls. I noticed there's by far more women's shoes out there i.e for fashion dolls, tho. I really admire anyone who can make shoes for their dolls! I made some basic flats for my Soom Teenie Gem recently and I almost despaired.

@jaydeB Yup, ebay is a great place to find clothes and etsy too! ^^

    24. Thank you both!

As for clothes, I'd expect the Barbie, parabox Obitsu and similar stuff to fit some 1/6 dolls. Exactly how well depends on the doll and the outfit, I suppose. For high quality gowns and stuff Mattel had a barbie line called Silkstone that might be worth hunting ebay for. My best source for super cheap and vintage Barbie/Ken/Skipper stuff has been Tabloach Productions. Some of the wigs might even work for these dolls, now that I think of it.

    25. There are a FEW action-figure companies that actually make nice leather men's shoes, but those are big enough that they only work on a few dolls. My Lumedoll Light boys wear shoes from Newline Miniatures (scroll down):
      NewLine Miniatures: Other Era Accessories
which are... slightly too large, but I consider them 'workable'. But, really, only on the Lumedolls.

Eva recommended Triad Toys, TTL, and Toys City for Lumedoll Light clothes and shoes, and for the most part, those work well, especially on the more muscular body. The slim body does well in Ken clothes - the quality of which varies wildly, of course!

Clothing the mature tiny is an exercise in entertaining frustration, to be sure. I've found that the best solution is to buy lots of different mature tinies - then everything you buy will surely fit SOMEBODY! Right? Right?! :XD:

    26. It definately makes it more likely Gallye! I've gotten a couple nice pairs of leather shoes through gijoeelite.com that fit my guys pretty well. I don't remember which particular company they were from.

    27. Is anyone familiar with mature 1/6 anthro cats? Think Pipos Raoh but closer to 1/6 scale...

    28. well, there was the I.o.S. Jack, but he isn't quite as mature-looking as Raoh (and good luck finding one, yikes).

    29. Actually that's exactly the sort of face I was looking for. Too bad he's so rare, but thanks for the tip!

    30. Has anyone seen any mature tinies that are female vampires? I've been thinking how much I'd like to have one if they even exist. XD

I know Soom has made some vampiric looking 1/6 mature tiny fairies but other than those. Seeing as they are more or less not very easy to acquire if you miss the time window.

    31. It may be easier just to find a girl you like and then mod fangs onto her. If you don't want to mod, there are people you can commission to do it for you. It's an easy one to do, depending on the look you want.

    32. Yes it's true there's an Aenigma for sale currently! I've been keeping tabs on it hahaha.... ha.... She's in need of some tlc but she is quite cute.

    33. @Leo Pheonix Ahh you have Juchy, so nice. ^^ I've wanted her for awhile. She's looking cutie.

Also.. what is.. this... Doll in Mind had mature tinies?! I didn't know, they're so nice! And double jointed, too. But I can't seem to find any owner pictures of Flavia. :\ Why must I fall for all the hard to find dolls...

    34. More than half my dolls are mature tinies, with the rest being even smaller. And most of them are discontinued, or limited. There seems to be a rising interest in them, maybe some of the companies who disconinued them will start making them again? :eusa_pray Not too likely, I know. '

Xaga Doll's Red Obsidian line and Argonautica's 1/6 line are two that are still available. I have a Xaga Doll and want another one. Or an Argo doll. Or both.

    35. I've looked into both Argonautica and Xaga Doll before but they don't fit the aesthetic that my crew has. Well, technically Xaga does but they're single jointed which I keep telling myself I won't get more of. >.<

And we can certainly hope they'll pick them back up again. There's always hope. :|

    36. I'm not sure which ones you were looking at, but Xagadolls aren't single jointed! I have 3 haha.

    37. @Idoru ... I checked the website again and I officially have no idea what I was on about. I think some of the company photos made their poses look single jointed and I didn't find any photos clearly showing the joints and just... moved on. : x I only looked here, saw the knees on the final photo and was like "welp those look single" and that was that.

      Well! that's embarrassing!

... I'm gonna take a closer look at them, now. lol

    38. @Monaudious Hey no worries! The joint in the knee hides quite nicely. Honestly they actually have really good posing, so I definitely advocate taking a look at 'em. I wasn't sure if maybe you were looking at a different line that WAS single jointed, since I only have the Red Obsidians.

    39. I've got a 1/6 little elf! A darker faceup definitely makes them more convincingly look less childish
[excuse the outfit and bad wig, i'm working on a complete refresh of the look]

    40. @Myuuuu - Cute elf! What company and sculpt is she?

    41. I also have a Xaga Doll Red Obsidian doll who even has the rotational hip joints usually only made in bigger dolls. Here he is, showing off how posable he is-

      [IMG]Conri Poses

      Yes, I'm being a shameless enabler. ;)

Has anyone else seen Lillycat's new Chibbi Moon?

    42. I think I might have showed off some of Tomoki's jointing in the review I did a while ago... If not, I will make a point of it when i get around to doing another one! (I want to review my other 1/6s...) It's kind of a long review though.

Anyway, YES, ME, I HAVE... She's really cute!! Someone should definitely get her and share pictures here, because she's not a good fit for my collection but I want to look at her.

    43. Thank you! It's a Resinsoul Bao. The Bao sculpt by default comes with a boy body, but it's still a generally androgynous sculpt, which I like.

    44. Ah, I thought it looked familiar. Denver Doll sells Resinsoul and I've admired Bao before.

    45. @Idoru Nice, haha. While taking a closer look at them I did run across your review video, but didn't know it was yours. :P I wish the company photos had given such a good look at the joints and body as your video does. Little iffy because I'm not digging what I can see from the female body (awkward underboob joint) and it looks like there's just the one version of the body and no different chest options. :\ But on the other hand, the male body is great and feminine enough for me. Been trying to shell a grumpy goth girl for awhile and with the right face-up Cyrus could work. Maybe. I was pretty set on Flavia but she's looking more and more impossible. : x

@Leo Pheonix He totally looks like quite the poser. Certainly tempting! xD

    46. He's definitely got an interesting look. I've heard people call it "the smirk," which is definitely good for mischievous elf characters lol

    47. Monaudious Have you looked at Argonautica dolls? They're double jointed, and have choices in bust size.

    48. @Leo Pheonix Yup, certainly have. Been quite tempted by Little Ifi but she's just too realistic for my crew that's more stylized. : >

    49. I'm not sure what aesthetic you're looking for, but Bluefairy dolls are pretty stylized, and they now make mature bodies for their Pocket Fairy line. Sorry if I'm being too helpful!

    50. I have Lillycat's Chibbi Moon, she's currently away for a faceup but here's her picture from post-box opening

    51. @Leo Pheonix Nah, thanks for the suggestions. ^^ I came across Blue Fairy before, they're cute. Wasn't aware of the new mature body.

@vignoche Congrats on your new addition. Lillycat dolls are so effortlessly graceful.

    52. vignoche my first reaction to seeing your girl is AAAAHHH! SO CUTE!

    53. @vignoche She's sooo pretty! I love dolls with half closed eyes and her ears are just adorable! <3

      I finally wanted to place my order for Compassion Doll's Elvis today but when I went to their shop I saw they had a new doll and he just blew me away. Now I'm sitting here pulling my hair about which doll to buy. OMG it's so hard!! That ever happend to you guys? ;A;

    54. ANOTHER one?! They need to stop!! It is making my life hard!! He's beautiful too... ; _ ;

    55. @Idoru No, no!!! I don't want them to stop putting out beautiful dolls! It's ok, I just need to find someone who's interested in buying one of my kidneys so I can get them all...

Any takers? Just kidding... *rolls away laughing hysterically*

      • x 1
    56. @heliocoelin this is absolutely fair. They are definitely worth a kidney. Gosh, I am so in love... If only anyone would buy the doll I have for sale!

    57. I just got word from my taobao agent that in order to produce their dolls Compassion Dolls needs a min. of 10 orders. I know this isn't unusual as that's the min most casting company require to start making dolls buuuut I've never placed a pre-order like this on taobao. How does it work? Does anyone have experience with that?
I'm sorry this might not be the best thread to ask this question but I thought if more people here are interested in buying a doll from them I should let you know. :)

    58. @Idoru I've seen smaller companies/doll artists say the doll could only be produced if at least 10 dolls were pre-ordered. Compassion Doll maybe aren't casting the dolls themselves and collect orders until they have enough? But yeah, Flynn is the newest so maybe Cheng and Elvis are in stock or don't have a fixed number of pre-orders?
      I'm using Yoybuy and the lady from customer service said she had spoken to them directly. I've sent her another mail with questions let's see what they say. I'm not sure if she understands 100% of what I'm writing tho... This is a lot harder than I thought it would be. ^^;

    59. I would like to buy Elvis but the Chinese taobao website is too confusing for me. And he is not listed on the English Taobao website as far as I can see. It is a pity the doll artist cannot work with a dealer that everyone has access to.
