[Adopted] Loongsoul 1/3 doll discussion Part 2

I have a MeiJi, I was curious if you're wondering how the legs look. I have pictures of her, but all of them have her dress obscuring her legs a good bit. I can take more, I just want to be sure I'm giving you a helpful picture.

 

Raevyn, your Farkas looks gorgeous with his new faceup! It really brings out the beauty of the sculpt, especially the eyes.

Those henleys look fantastic on your guys, Girrl. If you ever run out of boys to put them on (as if!) Albany could take a white one off your hands...

Actually, Girrl, I have a question for you if you don't mind: I noticed you've added a Doll Chateau girl or two to your collection, and I was wondering how their posing compares to Loongsoul. Loongsoul is my gold standard now for posing, so I was thinking that I'd only get LS dolls going forward... but I'm attracted to the look of the DC dolls, so I'm curious what you think of them!

Though for now, my next planned purchase is Antje from Jeeryama while the 6% discount is going... if I can psyche myself up to it, maybe I'll place the order today...

I don't have a LS girl (yet!!! I've been writing Ezio's sister Maria and she's totally getting ordered!!!) to compare to, but my Boys out pose pretty much everyone else. The DC girls aren't bad... but standing a little stiff and bow-legged is part of their characters.

Does anyone have Antje pics? I'm about to buy her, I'm just having last minute cold feet when it comes to choosing her resin. I'd love to see her in other shades besides the company images of her in Normal Pink. She's going to be my Alice in Wonderland, so I planned to get her in Normal Pink for an English Rose complexion, but why not an outdoorsy Alice who's got a bit more color? I really like my MuXuan's Real/Wheat resin, and the Loongsoul tan is also attractive...

Yes he has little frosty-things on his temples! It has been raining *all* week* and I have terrible indoor lighting - as soon as we get a break in the weather I am going to be taking him out and taking better pictures of him! The face up was by Pearls of Danube, she is on instagram though I am not sure of under what name... she did an amazing job of bringing his character to life for me.

 

Auguste is handsome boy, I'm looking at his vampire version as my first doll, but I don't know yet, 80cm is a really big doll! Seems like he might be a handful, but would probably be worth it.

Is french real skin UV protected?
I was really disappointed that LS didn't respond. I was going to order the girl to go with him but have decided not to invest in their product again.
I finally found his missing 'bit' - it had somehow worked its way up in to his pelvis thru the leg opening. Who knew?!?!?
That said, I love him, he is great.

 

Totally worth it, imo (but I'm totally LS biased)

My oldest boy is NSY (environmental resin) and his color is very stable (he's 3+ years old) so I imagine the RS would be that stable as well, especially since lighter resins seem to show yellowing more quickly. (my tiny White Tiger is still white, white - but she's got full body blushing so she may not be the best to judge from)
Honestly, the only company I've had consistent good communication from directly is ResinSoul (who are awesome at responding to emails) Unless you wrote to them in Chinese it's very possible your message didn't translate well and they either had no idea how to respond to what you were asking or the message got lost in the shuffle of trying to find someone with better english skills translate it.

Have always been a firm believer of where and how I spend my money, and don't think i will invest in LS again.
I seem to be drawn to the Iplehouse guys, and will likely stick with them for the most part.

I'm just going to say... pretty much the most awesome thing about my big LS guys is that I can get them to basically freestand on one foot in almost any position and it give the most awesome illusion of movement

Hey everyone I'm just jumping in here for a silly question that I'm sure has been asked a hundred times.

I'm thinking about a Hao Tian eventually and I am sure the wait is worth it, but is it really as long as people say it is? I'm moving out of state and I'm sure I can change my address with ACBJD before he gets done but waiting for longer than 3 months honestly scares the hell out of me. Especially because I want him for such specific things. I saw in the waiting rooms that some people got their blank dolls within 2 months. I'm just confused.

I ordered him through a taobao agent though, so there was almost no delay between the agent receiving him and sending him to me.

He is perfect by the way, exactly what I was looking for, perfect posability, resin color and body size
I can't wait to see what his face will look like when the face-up is finished !
But the body alone is the perfect hybrid for plenty of my floating heads (I tried Kanadoll adrian, Switch, Soom, LLT etc, and while the resin match is obviously not perfect for all, it is very acceptable IMO)

 

@Littlebirdzoom I've had about 5 month waits ordering through MoC (I'm currently waiting on another boy now, ordered in May) I think I saw a Hao Tian on the MP if you're really concerned about the wait. He's a gorgeous sculpt!

I would be ordering through acbjd because they start production immediately, right? I have no desire to order though mint on card just because of their batch ordering. @Littlebirdzoom Not this time! I usually do, but this boy is going to be the brother of another one of my dolls so he's going to be getting a faceup from the same artist to heighten their resemblance
I don't mind MoC's batch ordering and whenever there has been anything off with my order they've gotten it all sorted with minimal fuss. The only reason I generally don't buy dolls through ACBJD is because they charge for their paypal fees, which is a practice I thoroughly disapprove of, and it really adds a hefty bit on top of an already sizable purchase

 

Finished another henley for the boys and Tom was quick off the mark to lay claim to it (since it's green, you know)

 

And green really does suit him !!

 

I'm getting my first Loongsoul doll in the mail here soon (second hand) and I'm so excited! I have mostly everything but a name picked out for him. Always the hardest part for me. xD Can anyone shoot me some places or sizes that fit the 68cm boy body? What do you all dress yours in? I looked up some typical measurements like SSDF and standard sizes but none of them fit.

 

I know at least some EID shirts fit - I have an tank that was marked EID / Idealian that fit perfectly - not sure about length of sleeves though on long sleeved stuff. Alice Collections did tell me that their 70cm jeans should all fit - and thus far, I have found that to be true. Shirts on the other hand, they told me would have to be custom made. They are a bit difficult to find clothes for, that's for sure - but, it's a really lovely body. My guy for now sits around in jeans ***it does also seem that at least pants can be shared with Ringdoll Grown 72? I am not certain about shirts...my RingDoll Lucifer seems a bit broader of chest believe it or not!)

Any ways I do hope this helps! What sculpt did you get?

Asher is handsome! And thanks for all the info, that's actually pretty easy. Him and my Venitu can share some clothing. I got the Fox boy sculpt, Qingli. He's so damn pretty!

 

The Farkas sculpt is such a beautiful face. Asher's wig gives him an interesting wild look.

And Tom's henley looks fantastic, perfect color for him.

One of these days I'll get some decent photos of my LS guys... eventually...

My Antje is here I've made a box opening thread too. I wasn't sure about the jointed butt at first but she sits wonderfully... very sturdy and easier to pose than another bjd of mine.

I thought I wanted to do her faceup myself, but yours is so beautiful, I think I may have to opt for the company faceup. What a lovely lovely girl.

 

Can't really see it in my photo but she has freckles. She's pretty much true to the one on the website.

 

Just got my boy in the mail. I'm absolutely love him, but am struggling with the body. I heard a lot about Loongsoul being one of the best companies for posability, but honestly I'm not that impressed. More annoyed than anything. The joint systems are really cool, but dang them floppy kicky legs. I might get another body if sueding doesn't help. I'm sure someone will want the body ^_^ Otherwise his head and faceup is amazing. I'm so happy. Now to get clothes and a wig! And a name. Hmmm.

 

Have you tried tightening his stringing?
I've got 4 of the big, big guys and they stand, kneel and crouch like effen champs. I often use them to hold up other dolls in pictures, tbh. The legs look like the same style as my huge guys' legs, and I would have thought they'd be at least as stable and awesome, if not slightly more so because they're shorter and lighter. hmm...

 

I'm going to be making a lot of clothes for my incoming Aoyue but I'd also like to buy some things especially things I don't know how to make yet like a nice suit. Does anyone know who carries clothes that fit 80cm boys?

 

It's possible that the seller either loosened or tightened the strings for shipping-- some people think looser strings are safer because it makes the doll more flexible if it gets knocked around, while some people think tighter strings are better because that keeps things from shifting around. Maybe you could ask, and then adjust the strings accordingly...

 

I've adjusted the strings a bit. He was tight to begin with, but now he's super tight. It definitely helped him stand but he is also fighting to still kick me. I'm sure with some glue I can tame him. Thanks for the suggestion all! Sometimes I just miss the obvious. XD

I'm thinking my next move for him would be those jointed dragon claws, will they fit him? I have my absolute heart set on them and I don't mind them being a little big, but I'm terrified they will be huge. Anyone know?

Yeah... I've been quietly crying over him for a couple days...

 

I'm going to place my order for him in a couple of days. I told myself I couldn't have any more dolls, especially because I doubt he will even get here before I move out of state, but screw it. I told myself a Loongsoul dragon would be my only exception and I've cried enough over not being able to find YingLong. I'll just... sell three dolls, half of my house and an organ.

Personally I won't be ordering him with human parts, but that's just me. I've been wanting a GOOD dragon type doll for a while now and I only want him for that. I am getting his jointed hands though, because how coll with that be? I DO want his human outfit too though, but I don't think I'll have enough money for all that.

That is so weird how Loongsoul's new website doesn't even have a proper URL or how they didn't announce it. Weird. Maybe they're trying to stay within their own country? I've always felt like Loongsoul kind of pays half attention to things, not that that's bad. Just strange. I'm so excited I hope I can manage to sell some stuff before the end of the month so I can start my order sooner than later.

 

Am I missing pictures of a TAIL? I keep looking for it, does he have one? I have always felt like Loongsoul preferred to stay within their country - hence why they do not directly sell to any one outside of it, as far as I know. Though they have always been polite and helpful, just for whatever reason I think it's easier for them to not do outside sales.

I really love the new 58cm girl body. I don't love any of the 58cm girl heads though, so I am not sure if I should just...get one I like but don't love, or wait and see if they come out with more 58cm girl head sculpts. I am too nervous to try mixing companies.

 

Yeah I'm not really sure if I would get the human parts or not since I really don't think I would use them enough to justify spending the money for them and the human outfit has such good
detail it seems ugh I really hope MOC gets him anyway because I'm curious if you do order him will you get him in normal or French resin ? Also would you get him blank or with faceup and body blush? Raeyvn I don't think he has a tail which is a little disappointing or well there doesn't really seem to be any pictures of his back

 

Ooo before I forget to add this I really wish they had more close up pictures of his fantasy parts oh and quick question what's the difference between the normal and French resin ? Is the French better?

 

Yeah I would just never use the legs. Ever. I'm getting him in nomal white because I don't see the benefit of French resin. To pay more for something that yellows faster - and personally I hate hate hate shiney resin. It's a huge turn off for me. I think the translucency is pretty, but eh. Normal white for me.

Unfortunately he doesn't have a tail. I was looking forward to it too, but oh well. He's gorgeous and I love his water theme and the spikes on the front and back of his knees. It looks like he has a fin pattern on the back of his legs which is so cool!

 

Thank you for the link and info I thought I had read something about the French resin yellowing quicker but wasn't sure if it was the older french or just french in general . Are you going to order him blank or with blush and face up? And I guess you could always make him a tail if you wanted to

 

I'm not sure, I think it might be french resin in general but don't take my word for it :P I'm ordering him without a faceup only because I want him quicker. They have amazing company faceups, but I'm scared to wait longer than I have to. I want to think up something similar to the one he has in the company photos and making it more personal. Body blushing will come probably next year when I have money XD

 

I haven't had any real color change problems with any of my boys (or my tiny white tiger) But Ezio spam! (with his ex-girlfriend Cristina)

Hi everyone! Sorry to barge in, but I've got a question.. I was looking for a 68cm boy, and considering loongsouldoll offers 68cm male bodies, I was hoping if anyone could answer me if an Iplehouse hybrid would be possible. If so, should I look for the SID (65cm) or EID (70cm) heads to fit? I can't find the answer anywhere else, nor can I find good pics on flickr, besides a SID Felix on 'a' loongsouldoll body which isn't specified...

 

I have a similar question, Ythiel - I've been thinking about pairing a Loongsoul 68cm body with a Piposdoll Collin head. They have the same size necks (10 cm) but aside from that, no idea how well they'd match. Unfortunately I don't think many people have the Loongsoul 68s to help out with comparisons. Your best bet might be to write to the person you found on Flickr and ask what Loongsoul body they used.
