Aaand about chibbi Ellana/Lana, I actually asked my friend if she knows something about the pricing as she visited Ldoll and she told me: it is 360euros (+ shipping?). If the preorder is open only December, I may not be able to bring her home ;__; I wish I could! I need to check the layaway offers, as baby Ellana would look too cute next to the big one.. But ouch ouch, not prepared for near 400euros with shipping which I'm expecting now. But.. they are worth every penny.

She is indeed amazing and I looove the dark skintone. I must admit that Lyse was my first love and I almost ordered her.. I still remember when I saw the first Lyse ordering page for caramel skin and I was putting her to cart and thinking, and then gave up.. But I'm now completely happy I can enjoy her photos instead, I don't have a characters for Lyse.

 

Adalwolf, Rachelle has announced Lana's preorder "should" be December 9 - 26 and in the same price range as Bo; I would assume the Ldoll display dolls would cost more as they were likely artist casts (but I could be wrong). She has also told me that she's changing the way things are done. Preorders will only be one or two per year with LE run between. Additionally, and much to my discontent, she plans to only release preorder dolls in NS, Pink, Caramel, and Marron Glace. The special colors will only be available with LE dolls with faceups. It's sad that I'll have to pay extra for dolls with faceups just to wipe them if I buy. I hardly ever get default faceups, I prefer to do my own! This news is a bit upsetting to me as I also do not prefer normal skins or tan skins - NS, Caramel, and Marron Glace. It might finally be a push for me to attempt dying dolls. But this is also not fully my interest. It's a shame. I really fell for Lillycat dolls. I'm a bit sad by this news.

 

Thank you for the preorder time info! I indeed hoped for something like 300-ish price, but my friend told me that she asked exactly how much one chibbi doll would cost in preorder/NOT as an artist cast or the ones on the Ldoll table ( and I guess not exactly as painted either, but maybe Rachelle meant that painted versions are 360? The price sounds more like a faceupped doll to me..But I'm still noob with French dolls and their value). Not sure if they had a language barrier too, but she said she especially meant the basic release and not the special Ldoll customization or artist cast versions as she is getting one chibbi girl this December and wanted to know something in advance about the preorder.

But if I understood right, all the "fantasy" colors are only available with already made faceups and/or body blush? Oh no.. I paint 99% of my dolls by myself, it is the best thing to me in this hobby so would be heart breaking indeed to pay for very high quality customization just to remove all paint instantly and ofc losing a lot of money, this work is not cheap.. I'm myself a fan of grey skinned dolls (or purple, blue, cold shades) so everything which comes in grey variations always take my attention, but this makes me sad as well a bit now. I'm not sure which Lana I like more, but I would buy her only because of her sculpt and the skintone doesn't really matter so much as it is not greyish. I hope Rachelle will re-consider the new plan, but I respect her choice what she wants to do with her own doll store. I completely understand this disappointment though, because I personally just started to my Lillycat collection and the skintones I like would be even harder to get in the future.. I need my fighting spirit back after Ellana hunt I want to support artists by buying from them but sometimes it is too complicate and I lose my inspiration & interest if certain dolls are too limited and too hard to get.

 

I completely agree. I do believe in supporting artists, but I don't always understand why they don't give in to the "popular demand." If it's what the customers want then that would mean better sales. It puts me in mind of Elfdoll. I will get the Chibi dolls, but I'm not comfortable with the skin options. I usually always end up selling my normal skin dolls because I can't "bring them to life."

No, I don't know Slenderman (but in accordance with Google, I think it's spot on!). Thank you so much for the photo!! I wonder if it would look a little more "normal" with a shorter neck though. We're so used to oversized heads that this looks very awkward. Even though proportionally it shouldn't. ..Actually, proportionally, this body would probably need a pukifee head!!!

 

It's the same width of Ellana's head for the most part, and the neck fits well. It's the height that makes it look strange, I think.

 

All I did was move her head down and do some light color matching to make it blend it a little more.



Not terrible!

 

There's still something a little disturbing about it.

I dont know if this is useful for something, but I made a list of all the Ellana releases with the colors available.

2013: Pink Tan & White skin
2014: Dark Tan & Pink Tan skin
2015: Peach & Grey Purple skin
2016: Peach & Dark Tan & Caramel skin

Does somebody know if she was ever released in some special colors also?

And I am really curious about how many Ellana dolls that exists world wide, how many was ever sold/ordered totally?? hmmm

 

I am having a worse time clothing my Ellanas than I thought I would... OMG. Everything is too small on the top! Or her hands won't fit through the arm holes... le sigh...

I don't know. It may or may not be an off size. She seems bigger than an MSD but smaller than SD. Rachelle just lost one of her cats New Year's Eve, so I'm trying not to bother her with doll questions just yet.

 

What brands of shoes do you guys buy? 6.5cm seems to be almost a unicorn when it comes to cute shoes.

Hi everyone. Going to just dive in here and introduce my new doll. She is still WIP but I'm excited to join your community so here goes...

I just complete painting her face and hands. The lashes are not working out so I plan to replace in the near future. I also just finished the wig. I have mixed feeling about how it came out but for now I'm going to just go with it. Her name is Signey.

@MisMantis and @QueenLLama thank you both so much. I'm planning on crafting a different wig that might blend a bit better but keeping the white hair. It's hard to pull off a shaved area of the hair and make it look integrated with dark skin, but I'm good with the result. Super excited to be part of this thread with you all.

Update on Big Cherry body: Rachelle doesn't plan for a Big Colline head, she thinks she's going to go "vintage" with that body. What does that mean?? Perhaps former style like Lyse, Constantine, etc?
I had too many questions, she forgot to tell me what size the doll is.
Personally, I can not wait for the Big Cherry release! I'm ecstatic!

I can't help but wish the Lol-a-Pet dolls were offered in LE skins. Even if I didn't win we'd always know a Lol-a-Pet doll when we saw it.

 

@Ballerina It's interesting offer, I think Rachelle would be interested to hear it.

 

I don't want to nag her anymore about special skins and these dolls are already made up for the contest so there is no point now.
But I do hope to see lots more of your Ninon Plum in the mean time!!

I dont know if this has been a topic earlier, I guess it has but i want to share anyway in case not.
Because i did something super smart last night with the Lillycat Lune body.
Because i find her legs very floppy and hard to control. So therefore i tried to add silicone rings in her hip joint. And it worked out so nice, and i highly recommend add silicone rings to others.
Now she poses way much better, and her legs is not all over the place anymore.

I start with removing her foot on one of the legs, and then the rest of her legs up to the hips, putting the silicone ring on the string and then putting her back together using a thin satin ribbon.
Then the same on the other leg. its not that hard. My fingers is a bit sore today, but it is worth it.
I find it so much better to handle now!

Nice - do you think they work better than hot glue sueding?

I dont know. I can only guess, but i think silicone is a bit more sticky than the hot glue. And when you add a silicone ring you dont really do anything WITH the doll, you just add it in between. I feel this is better than putting glue on the doll personally. But this is personal though.

 

Okay, thanks I don't have a problem with putting hot glue on my dolls, especially since it is easy to peel back off. Also you don't need to disassemble the doll to do it. But these sound pretty nice too - maybe I will try it out to see if they are more heavy duty
