[Adopted] LatiDoll's Blue Line (part 1)

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered a Rei, so now I have to make sure I can get the right size wig. This might be tough, as the GO that I want to join is only listing SD (8/9) and MSD (7/8) so I'm hoping that the seller will actually MAKE other sizes.

Soon the vampire Cara I adopted will be home! I can't wait to meet her! Customs has had her for 3-4 days (What are they doing to her?! ). I am so excited though!

Wow, my Rucas is shipping! I can't believe it! It really seemed to go so fast, 'course I was fully expecting it to take 4 months, it took only 2 months and a week I'm quite excited!!! He's gonna be so cute

Nope, no faceup, no clothes, nothing. I got him bare bones basic. I can only assume their casting the Rucases (is that the right plural?) first or something. Here's hoping Rei comes next...

Hmmm, Muscular vs. Stylish (or whatever they call it) is a distinction I hadn't thought of. I also ordered Muscular, so that could easily be the holdup as well.

 

I needed him as bulky as possible for his intended girlfriend, LOL. So I got muscular too I'm seriously contemplating a Rei now LOL, there is seriously no hope here... It will never end!

I'm really irritated, my default outfit and wig were not included in the package . I hope I don't have trouble getting them to send it now, I've had nothing but trouble lately from Dollmore, grrr! My stomach is getting upset....I'm usually patient about this kind of thing, but because of Dollmore, I'm so irritated, and I hate being irritated My boy now has to be nakid and bald until this is resolved. Ugh

I took pictures of my box opening really quick 'cause I'm busy, but they're simple pictures, nothing to write home about so I'm not going to post them. The wind blew out of my sails, LOL. I can at least still work on his faceup and eyes... Maybe then I'll do some bald nakid pictures with boots on (the boots came, LOL)

Nah, I didn't post a box opening, there was nothing better photographically than what's been done at least 3 times before. I'll take some good photos of him, hopefully tomorrow, before I try a faceup, so we have good blanks in the database... then I'll do his faceup. I really don't like his eyes, they look like big huge black spots that take the whole eye??? I have lots of acrylic 10mm eyes, so I'm gonna try them on him Poor guy... well maybe, he's sitting in a large comfy chair with 3 girls on top of him Actually I think they're all happy ;P (I try not to look) ROFL

 

Hahaha, nice Ingie. I know how you feel about the eyes. I was actually surprised at how big they are.

 

Anyone have an official head measurement for Rei specifically? I'm going to track down my measuring tape and take one myself, but I'm not good at getting things very exact. I know they take 5/6 wigs (and the 6 he's using right now is too big), but the seller I want to commission a wig from only makes SD (7/8), MSD (6/7), and something called BB 15 cm. O.o Which is very frustrating as it's the only site I've ever seen such a perfect wig for my boy, in such a perfect color.

 

I think 5/6 actually might be too small-- especially since Rei has the largest head of the three boy sculpts. I think 6/7 would be perfect.

 

I'm really not sure how a 5/6 would be too small for him. He is currently wearing his sister's spare wig, which is a 6. It barely fits her, and is very tight on her, but he is swimming on it and it falls off if I lean him backwards a little bit.

 

Well, aren't you asking for which size would be preferable to commission a wig for and that the two choices are 7/8 and 6/7? My input to your question is that I think 6/7 would be the better choice. I've had no issues with 6/7 wigs, and while not all of them are perfect fits I've grown used to that with all the dolls in the house unless they're tailor-made-- such as the one default LatiBlue boy wig we have that does fit perfectly. 5/6 and 6/7 are not exact sizes anyway, they're inbetween. The point being that under the assumption that since Rei has the largest head out of all three LatiBlue boys, then I don't see how 6/7 would be a problem for you to commission for and that I think a 5/6 wig-- an inbetween size-- might be too small especially if it's a wig with no elastic. A 6 is still bigger than a 5/6, after all.

 

Kendrah, I have a size 5/6 monique wig that still has it's tags and I just got it, and there is no way it could fit my Rucas' head, though it's super stretchy. I just washed Rucas's head 'cause I'm about to try to give him a faceup, so I don't want to measure his head ATM but I will once he is finished... I think he's a 6.5 - 6.75 but that's a guess.....Ok, I just measured him, he is 6.75", and Rei is supposed to be larger.

Well, it's not totally up his nose, but he looks good like that still Here are the others, including hands and feet which are deliciously detailed with veining etc... I really like this guy! He's hunky! I'll admit that I'm not crazy about the wrists and the ankles, they're not as sculpted as, say, an Iplehouse BUT they have more range. I am thinking of getting my boy some wrist guards or fancy wraps to hide that spot, not that it's that bad, but I'm thinking it'd work well with his Non-school uniform style (he'll be on the flashier side ) He's gonna be my flashy boy LOL. I have a ton of 10mm Glasstec acrylic eyes (well 4 pair of different colors) so I'm going to give a pair of those to him, I think he'll look great afterwards. He came with oval glass eyes in 12mm. They might look awesome in my Minifee Lishe.... I like her in brown but didn't have any in the right size, so I'll try it out. Unfortunately, I don't think I could make them do much more than stare forward, so that my not make me happy ;P

 

cheinism: The confusion here has spawned by the fact that I mistyped my numbers (I hate wig size numbering; I really do). My boy is currently wearing a size 7 wig, no elastic, and it is far too large for him. His sister wears a 7/8 that is literally swimming on him (think cousin It). The seller I wish to purchase from sells only three sizes: SD (8/9), MSD (7/8) and something called "BB 15 cm." My question was not whether I should get a 6/7, as she doesn't make them, and I'm sorry for the confusion in mixing up my sizing. However as she does not make a 6/7, I am trying to get the cm sizing for the Rei head so that I can see if this 15 cm size might actually fit him.

IngieBee: Thank you for measuring for me. If my math is right, this means that his head will probably be 17cm or larger... and will not fit the 15 cm wig. Damnit. I want to kick this seller. They're making custom wigs. Why can't they make them in my size?

 

Aw, shoot, Yah, that sucks It's not a fur wig is it? There are several people who make fur wigs, so you could go to someone else, but I get the feeling not

My faceup is not going well, LOL. But since I'm running out of sealant, I'm gonna live with it for a while. Not quite done, but hopefully soon....

Well, that does it, I won't be buying the Volks ZM spray again. I get splotchy spots and nothing but trouble with it. I must say, I do think it makes tans look less "Powder faced" so maybe I'll keep som on hand for my tan dolls, but I'm really hating the way the stuff is working Grrr, this is a bad faceup, but all I can do ATM... Pictures soon as I make him presentable

I like the wig, but I think you can find something similar with a Jpop wig in those colors, or maybe, if you don't mind plain "natural black" you might find something you like at Leeke World? BTW, I have a leeke world 6-6.5 wig right here, it's got sausage curls, so I won't embarass him by taking a picture, however if fits PERFECTLY. Not too tight, not loose at all. Just FYI I think I'm going to get him something from there... gotta think what I like

He's wearing Iplehouse outfit and his boots. Iplehouse is a little loose in the top, but do-able (sleeves are a bit short) but really pretty loose and too pants are a bit short. Still, didn't want him nakkie

Size 10 eyes were way too small, though I like the size of the iris. Will have to have a pair made for him

 

Ingie he looks great, nice job with the faceup! Is that the faceup you werent happy with because I think it looks fantastic

 

Yah, you can't see all the faults there But look at those lashes and the brows, I did a bad job on feathering them! I've got an inquiry for 14mm eyes with 5mm irises (the size iris in 10mm eyes) Because I tried 14mm eyes in the sockets and they're a perfect fit. These eyes were nicely trimmed out to that size (thin walls at the edges of the openings) so I think, if Doll Eyes, the member who sells glass eyes, will make them that way for me, I'll be so dang happy! My fingers are crossed that he will!

 

I'll keep those spots in mind and do some poking, Ingie, thanks! And I think your guy looks great.

 

Ingiebee - I'm so happy to finally see one of these guys in Iplehouse clothes, because I've been curious about the fit for months. Thanks for posting! I also prefer 10mm in them but there are gaps. I'm looking to getting some special made from Enchanted Doll when I can. Also, I like the colors you've chosen for your face-up-- the plum colors are very nice. I work with Zoukeimura Powder Spray for commissions and usually don't have issues. It does spray on thicker than MSC, but that's not an issue if the coating dries thoroughly between sprays. If it's splotchy, you may have had a clogged spray? That's happened to me before, and I fixed it by prying the top of the spray off and replacing it with an old can whose spray part was not clogged. I think if you soak it in hot water to let it loosen up and then rinse it out, then let it thoroughly dry that helps too. Then your investment in the spray hopefully won't have gone to waste. : ) The Leekeworld wigs have elastic and always fit so nice and snug.

Kendrah - Ahh okay, that makes sense. That's really unfortunate that they don't make it in 6/7 then, as 7/8 is most definitely too big as you have already noted. It's a Chinese seller, and sometimes they offer some wriggle room. Maybe they'll help you out? Jpopdolls do tend to have the more rare colors too. Good luck!

chienism, the pants are a bit loose but they stay on. However, he's such a long legged guy, they end up being floods (er... old term, means looks like he's ready to walk in flooded waters) Unfortunately, I've had two cans. The first one clotted half way through, where it spits globs out, and I can't seem to clean it enough to get it to work. This other one... well, it could be my fault, but it made a wrinkle by the eye, so when I tried to shade there with pastel, I got a line, and then I messed it up more and more, it's all blotchy now, never try to fix such a problem! It can't be fixed!

Anyway, I was hoping Rucas would fall in love with my Iplehouse Tania, but unfortunately, both of them say "He/She is nice n all, but... I just don't feel it" Next thing I know, Rucas is smooching with my Minifee Tickles (a Marcia) So, I guess they're a couple now . Gosh, I wonder who I can get for my Tania? ... Oh well



I got this wig as a present from Dollmore, seems to actually fit to my utter surprise! I am hoping his blond wig will show up here soon though? He was supposed to be my blond boy! I also want his clothes Ah sigh...

 

chienism: The person running the HC GO is going to ask one more time to see if they can work with me. Apparently the language barrier makes for some vaguities so I'm not sure what's going to happen there, but I have my fingers crossed. Until then, I'll just have to keep my eyes open. All: My boy is stealing his sister's clothes (I think he might be cooperating but I can't be sure yet about the brother/sister thing) until I can get something sewn up for him. He's totally thefted the non-finished "button up" shirt a friend gave me, as it fits him far better (but is unfinished so I'll have to deal with that eventually). He's also borrowing her spare pants, surprisingly! She has a pair of Dollmore pants, and they fit his waist and hips like a dream (hell, better than hers, because she's an AoD). They are a little highwater, but nothing a high pair of boots couldn't manage. He won't be keeping those, though. Blue jeans with bright pink splotching just aren't his style. ^_~

Golly Kendrah, I'm so sorry to be so late to see your box opening and post here! My kitchen faucet died, and then I discovered that the drains below were spewing water for who knows how long/many years (the water seemed to find a way out behind the cabinet?? Under the house?? OMG, what a mess! I had to much junk under the sink to ever notice. I'm not the best plumber around, and It was hard to remove the old rotten pipes! Repiping only took me about 2 hours, the rest was removal, LOL. Anyway, that's why I wasn't around, but your Rei is awesome! My Rucas also has no name yet, ROFL, I'm awful with names I love the picture of his sister hugging the failed delivery notice and falling asleep, so sweet!!!

Me too! All the stuff I bought with him, the default wig and outfit, didn't arrive! Ugh, Lati still hasn't shipped my missing default outfit and wig, and worse still, they wrote that my default outfit would be shipped today, however they failed to mention my missing wig! HELP!!!

 

IngieBee Whaaaaaa? That's pretty irresponsible of them! I think you better ask them if they included the wig, if not, call them to send the wig as well!

 

I wrote to them last night, asking if they had shipped my default wig and outfit, then they said sorry for the delay.. we will ship your outfit today, and I don't know if that means they're going to forget my wig, so I wrote again, but it was too late in the day to catch them I'm afraid. So now, Ugh! I don't know if they forgot my wig or not I just want all his stuff yesterday, you know? LOL. These messups cost them money too, and I read so many messups on the boards . Maybe it's just too many orders? I dunno...

 

Ugh, that is horrible! I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. The messups definitely cost them money too, but I still don't think that just sending you what you've ordered is enough apology for something so screwy. If they failed to send both items this time, I'd definitely see if they'll give you an additional time to make up for the stress and waiting. ; -;

 

I wrote them yesterday "Please don't forget the wigs" reiterating everything that happened again, LOL, and they wrote:

Oh man, this thread disappeared! I have been so busy, and haven't come here because I'm in such a hurry all the time! I'm sorry I missed your arrival, Grenadine! He's so cute, and I love his haircut! Good news is my stuff finally came yesterday (or the day before, it's Sunday now! Ugh Yet I still haven't put the clothes and wig on him. Been very quiet here recently! How's everyone and their dolls doing!
I don't know if I said or not, but I managed to get an OE Vamp Cara from Claudette here on DoA ^-^
I love her so much! I've named her Mercy (well Mercedes, but I call her Mercy!) I'll have to get some decent photos of her soon. Although my photography skills have something to be desired, let me warn you!

Did anyone order any of the Lati event bags for their Blues? I got one for Mercy. Over all I'm really pleased with it, theres just one wig which is bluey/blacky/grey fur type which is short and boyish which I don't care for much. And one of the white nightdresses has some small stains on it which sucks! Because other then that its a gorgeous dress. I might try wash it with some stain remover or vanish tomorrow to see if that helps.

His hair is a wind blown mess in this shot and he still doesn't have a faceup, but I haven't shared my dear boy much yet, so I feel the need to do so. He still doesn't have a name, probably because he's being picky, and because this isn't going to be his final wig. It will do for now, though.

Right now he's giving me a long-suffering look. You see his sister picked out that hoodie for him. It's really not his style. At least I'm letting him wear his khakis with it. The overall look is really nice, even if it isn't very 'him' and makes him look younger than he should. A faceup should fix that eventually.

 

I think this is the slowest I have ever seen this thread, not that I have been contributing much lately either I hope everyone is having a fun summer with their blues!

PrincessMagick I hope you do post some pics of Mercy, I'd love to see her! (I need to start taking/sharing pics of my vamp Shaina [Mina] too)! I'm still thinking about sending her off to get a second fang added!

My rucas is sort of in slumberland dbecause of the summer too. I'm sure when the cold months start we will all be staying at home more and playing with our dollies and being doa addicts again

i was so happy to find this thread! i am paying off a layaway for a Rei and i cant wait to get him!!!!

but here's the problem. i read through this thread and i saw that helpful link that Kendrah left about wig sizes. but does anyone else know how wigs from other companies fit? like leeke for example?

i had this same problem with my other msd boy. a small head and i want a nice shaggy haircut!

 

If it's for the boys, as long as the wig measurements are between 6"-7" but no larger than 7", it should fit pretty well. It might not always be a perfect fit, but that's what rubber bands and silicone caps are for.

I don't really have much to contribute these days, but it is nice to see the thread updated every now and then. : )
