    2. @rubydoll, EEEEEEE!! He looks great!! Sorry Martin, I'm agreeing with this body snatch!

@Anita2006, Vika is stunning! Love that back drop too!

    3. This is my picture, peace of art from local charity shop :-) looks like background :-D

      • x 1
    4. I love that dress on Vika too, and that painting is so pretty and indeed makes a super backdrop! Awesome, @Anita2006

    5. Hello everyone!
Let me show you my new girl. This is Azalea on Dollshe Amanda body.
      I call her Firefly.

    6. Thank you! I'm in the process of redoing the girl's lips as she ended up with a very dark colour which didn't suit her.

Vika looks lovely in her new dress! She's a lucky girl!

Thanks! The hands took some wiring to get them to behave. Without it they are all over the place!

I think the prospect of a new body that will fit into the fancy clothes he likes to wear has convinced Mr Randall, my Martin, that this is the right move. The only one who is gonna be unhappy is Ziv on that 58cm body XD maybe I could make him some ankle extenders - I forget which company offers them but they fit between the feet and calves just to add a bit of extra height. Hmm...

@captain_panda wow she's gorgeous! The wig really suits her and I love the name ^^

    7. That looks like a great hybrid, sheโ€™s beautiful!

    8. oh wow, i like her face up, its so natural :-)

      • x 1
    9. Oh my gosh, your Azalea is so much prettier than on the impldoll website! In fact, wow! Might need one (ugh)

      • x 1
    10. @rubydoll, wiring the hands, good to know! I am thinking of getting a pair for my red muscle idol. I know the hands have veins but she wears half gloves.

@captain_panda, wow!! Azalea never fails to impress! Yours is gorrrrrgeous! That hair is to die for and she looks like she belongs in the show Firefly.

    11. Oh, is that why you named her Firefly? I love that show!!! :D

      • x 1
    12. @chalyss lol my hands are pretty veiny - even if they show it will just look like she is putting in a lot of effort! The first joint is a ball joint rather than a hinge like the rest - wiring just stops them swivelling around. I could do with re-doing it with some thinner wire.

I love Firefly too. The only good thing about the cold weather is getting to wear my Jayne hat XD

      • x 1
    13. Jayne was freaking awesome! Loved that hat!

Can we see more of Firefly, pls? I am interested in the hybrid look.

    14. @captain_panda Wow Firefly is amazing. That head looks like it was made for that body.

I was hoping to have something to share by now but no such luck. Can anyone tell me the production time currently for their dolls? I ordered mine at the end of November but haven't had any shipping notification yet. I did order during their anniversary event ...

    15. I don't know, my orders were all screwy. I orderedofrom DDE. My one body shipped in a bit over 3 months. I ordered in August, got it in November, but it was missing the Alma head I bought a week later to go with it. Then in September, I ordered 2 bodies for floating heads, and they were delivered a couple of days ago, so 5 months ~ . But I'm still missing my Alma head, ugh! I also ordered a couple of heads during their Facebook event in November and someone said those should ship out in March. That I ordered directly. At least I'll have a head for my body then!!

    16. @IngieBee, thank you! I think their last dolls are stunning! Especially horned heads ( *____* )
What is the show? I don't know. I call all my dolls like insects (Dragonfly, Bee, Spider, Wasp, Moth)

@chalyss, thank you! I want for her more red strands =)
ok, I'll try to make more pictures with this hybrid this week

@shirahime, thank you! I'm very glad to hear this =)
when I bought the head from their site I never recieved the tracking number. I just recieved the head in two months.

    17. @captain_panda Oh that's such a cool theme for doll names!

@rubydoll I just didn't read and comprehend earlier, you have a Jayne hat? LOL, oh my gosh, too funny!

    18. It's a cunning hat. I should make a doll-sized one, level up my crochet skills from scarves XD

With Chinese new year coming up I'm putting ordering anything else on hold - luckily everything I'd been waiting on has arrived already. My wallet is happy for the break even though part of my brain keeps reminding me the later I order anything the longer it will be before it's here. Patience is hard. So I hope everyone who's waiting isn't waiting too long!

    19. @captain_panda You have a beautiful Azalea! :D

I've been so busy in real life I only managed to backread stuff now. That's really a shame about your orders, @IngieBee -- and now you got Chinese new year to contend with. :o Either way, most of us with doll orders from the companies in that region are going to be backlogged a bit because of it. D:

    20. Aww, she's adorable. I love her outfit! I got my girl those same glasses, had to adjust them to fit her but now she never wears them. So ungrateful. I bet if I got her something with a TARDIS on she'd wear it though!

    21. This is just the stuff she wears when she's not going anywhere so she don't get stained lol. I do love the tardis shorts though.

    22. Oh man, I hope that Alma head situation gets sorted! That's, like, 6 months! I put in an order for a body and head through DDE in October, so hopefully it arrives soonish...? Right now at home I've got a floating body and a floating head and it's killing me. :XD:

She's adorable!! She looks so cozy and casual. :3nodding:

    23. @rubydoll I need to learn to knit so I can make one for my Dylan, LOL (after I get him a body - and actually after I get his head, LOL)

Thanks for the sympathy @AntarelNefertili LOL, gee, DDE hasn't written me back either. Wonder if they got my inquiry? I guess I'll have to write them again

@ahalfling she's so cute! Like an adorable bookworm (glasses, yah, judging a book by it's cover) Love her wig!

      Thanks @scoodi me too :D

    24. I ordered directly from Impldoll. I'm hoping it gets here at least before March but judging from what everyone has said, I may be in for at least a wait of another month or two ... factoring in the Chinese New Year holiday. I ordered my doll with a face up too and in the grey skin so maybe that's the delay.

I'd also love to see more photos of Iris. I think she's a rather cute sculpt. What do those with the model bodies think of them? I know the big new Star body seems to be popular and it's really nice sculpting but I feel just a bit too much resin for me!

    25. @ahalfling I keep thinking I should make/get my crew some loungewear - I like to dress them in themes so a PJ day theme would be fun.

@IngieBee I wish I could knit. I find the gentle tap tap of needles very soothing. I tried to teach myself but I got frustrated and I still have some muscle memory from crochet as a kid so it's easier to fall back on that. I managed to get some cheap wool in the sale to make Harry Potter themed scarves but I got green and black and Slytherin is green and silver/grey and Hufflepuff is yellow and black so, drat.

@shirahime I love the Model body. Even after I moved my Tdelia to an Angel of Dream body (she has a six pack and smaller chest now which suits her character more) I had no intention of selling the Model body so I bought an Aigne head for it. She doesn't sit as well as the AoD body - the swivel joints in her thighs are designed to turn to offer more support when standing, or allow her to sit but she looks better if I give her a bit of a slouch. There's no ridges on her chest joint which, although she can't really hold an extreme pose, means she looks natural whatever position it's in. I really like the sculpt too - she's curvy and soft. Here's an old-ish picture of her - from the same photoshoot as my avatar.

    26. Hum, I don't think the impldoll images are flattering for their sculpbts because the owner pictures are so much nicer!

I love your model dolls, @rubydoll and @ahalfling . I did put my fairyland heads on one of the bodies, but I haven't played enough with her to see if there are quirks other than the mobility thighs don't stay popped out very well, I'll try some sueding I think?? I've done no sitting tests, but the elbows and knees bend nicely. I must say I like the smaller size better, though I like the looks of a lot of bigger bodies, all my ~58 or smaller dolls are so much easier to handle and pose by virtue of their lighter weight. It seems the strings used on big dolls is insufficient or so tight it's hard to pose.

      • x 1
    27. I haven't really used the mobility thighs much other than as swivel joints. Like you say, they don't stay popped out particularly securely and given that some of my dolls live on a shelf above the head of my bed, I don't need any of them suddenly snapping out of position and swandiving onto my face in the middle of the night! I don't think I've sueded my Impldolls as they've always held their poses pretty well anyway. I totally agree about the smaller size being easier to handle. Impldoll's 65cm dolls, well, the male body at least, is a sizeable chunk of resin! I feel I have to use two hands with him.

I need to have another look for my spare elastic as I want to have a go at restringing the Star body. I seem to remember someone stringing the female body so the legs were on a loop that only went as far as the hips and a separate loop for the torso and head. I thought I might give that a go to see if it will stop him snapping his heels together. My Model boy has the opposite problem - bit of a manspreader.

I think sometimes company pictures only show one possibility for a doll while owner pics can be creative in different ways. I do like that Impldoll will sometimes show a doll in two different skintones or with two different faceups. I keep meaning to do one of those comparison pictures, company pics vs mine. And I always enjoy seeing other people's pictures of a sculpt I own because it's amazing how other characters can influence the look.

    28. @rubydoll Your Iris is gorgeous. I am really loving her sense of style. Do you find it hard to source fantasy-esque clothing for your dolls? I have a hard time finding what I'm looking for when it comes to fantasy. Iplehouse have great stuff but alas, I don't have dolls that would fit them.

Thanks everyone for your model doll line input and thoughts. I had considered that particular body for hybrids in the past but it seemed like not too many people had them since Impldoll got popular with their bigger line of dolls. I still hope they release more in that line this year. Maybe something fantasy like the bigger dolls. 58cm is just a great size for me and I would love to order more dolls from them in the future.

I actually emailed Impldoll about my order because I was curious and heard back within a few hours (their communication with their customers is really fantastic). It looks like my order will hopefully ship in Mid-March which was a lot sooner than I anticipated as I figured maybe end of March, Mid-April. I tend to try and order direct with companies these days rather than through dealers. I find production and shipping times seem to be a lot faster that way.

For me, Impldoll's promo photo for Iris was what made me take a second look. Her face is just so different from other sculpts I have and that was the key. Although if I get her, it won't be for a little while. I have to build up the funds again!

    29. My girl is actually Aigne - I did consider Iris but then I fell for Aigne's doe-y wide eyes. A lot of my fantasy clothes are Dollheart - I went a bit mad with their fukubukuros one year. I'm pretty sure the shirt in that outfit is SD13 boy and the trousers are actually 70cm boy - they are really pulled in at the back. While I did end up with some nearly complete outfits I do tend to mix and match - my smaller boys fit in girls' stuff and SD13 boy isn't horrendously big on my girls, especially with tactical safety pinning! If you're looking for goth or Steampunk or Alice in wonderland, Dollheart is great. Mint on Card have a few outfits in the sale right now too. And I'm kicking myself cos I ordered an outfit from Dolk cos I thought it was sold out on DH's site but not only is it not, but MoC have it with $20 off XP

I've had better communication going direct than through a dealer. Impldoll and Resinsoul especially have been great, fast responses, always helpful. And I'm hoping Impldoll revisits their Model line too. Some of their more youthful looking sculpts would look better on the Model body, I think.

      • x 1
    30. @rubydoll I had to go on their site to see who Aigne was. I think Aigne, Iris and Tdelia could be siblings. They all have very similar looks. Aigne's eyes are definitely bigger and her lips fuller. Dollheart outfits are quite nice. I think mine is more into the medieval type fantasy clothing (celtic inspired). I've seen a few here and there but they sell out fast or are in countries I hesitate to order from because of postal issues from that country. I keep meaning to just learn how to sew it myself. But free time is not in abundance right now.

They did indicate last time I spoke with them (last year) that they did have plans to release more in their model line so let's hope 2018 is their year. I'm just glad they didn't completely abandon that line when they started releasing their big dolls. I did notice a few of the older Star sculpts had disappeared from their website though. I was sure there were more than what is on there at the moment.

    31. I don't think there are many Aignes about. Iris is fairly popular and there are a couple of Tdelias. Mine looks nothing like her sweet company pics - she always looks surly! Maybe I'm just projecting her character onto her.

I have one medieval dress but I got it second hand and I think it may have been handmade so I can't help with the provenance. But on the plus side that should bean easier style to sew when you do have some time.

Sculpts disappear from Impldoll's site quite frequently. I ordered an Erica cos I panicked and thought she'd be gone for good. But they seem to be good about requests and I think all of their old sculpts are still listed on alice's collections.

    32. So I keep falling behind and try to pop in and stick with the conversation, but it seems I forgot to say how adorable your Iris is @rubydoll and how much I LOVE her outfit! Steampunk is my favorite! I have to admit, I have half clothed dolls over here that desperately need me to get sewing! And I can't find any time, ugh! LOL. I sure hope to get some clothes sewn soon, and then pictures :D

    33. @IngieBee thanks :) that combo is one of my fave outfits - think most of my dolls have worn it at some point! And I hear you re the sewing. I started a steampunk outfit on the sewing thread here but never finished it. I got a bit further but I hate sewing by hand because I constantly stab myself and I can't practise with the machine because the living room now belongs to the dog and trying to do it in the front on a coffee table sitting on the sofa ruins my back. I'll have to have a sewing spree when the dog goes away on holiday!

    34. Hey there! Randomly chipping in here, I was wondering - does anyone have the Bernice sculpt? And has anyone ever modded her to have human ears? I love her sculpt, but I don't have any fantasy characters that would suit those ears. x)

    35. OK, @rubydoll , something is wrong here. The dog gets to go on holiday, but you stay home to sew? :ablink:*_*:doh

Sorry, @Viivi , I'm still waiting for a head for my body, ROFL. In the meantime, could you tell me who is your avatar? She is so pretty :love

    36. @IngieBee Haha, fair enough! I hope you get your head soon!
My avatar is a Supiadoll Lina. She has a different faceup now, but my in my avatar she has a company faceup. :)

    37. Lol he's my brother's dog and it will be nice to be able to use the kitchen and the living room without the dog around. I have dolls instead of children or pets for a reason! Dolls don't destroy the furniture, lick the counters in the kitchen, pester you while you're eating or constantly demand attention. Dolls are pretty, you can dress them how you want and they're generally fairly good at "stay" XD

      • x 1
    38. Dolls are also really good about you not bothering with them for day/weeks/months at a time. And no walks required in rain/snow, etc.

    39. Exactly! And they're also forgiving when you do this sort of thing to them!

[IMG]Don't Leave Me This Way! by Rubydoll Chaos, on Flickr

She's covering her mouth cos I need to re-do her lips but after I took her off-topic friend's head off and neglected to replace it as I'm still working on her faceup it now looks like an expression of horror! Poor thing...

    40. OMG! That pic is awesome.

    41. OOOh old model dolls! Don't see enough of those anymore! Impl has some great Model sculpts and I hear they will be updating the model line soon. My Mei mei is an Impldoll model Iris, very versatile sculpt:

And my Imandi, a Starwoman Erica head with faceup by Alisonvonderland- she's on a Resin Soul body but that may change one day:

    42. I love the wig Imandi is wearing. Where did you get it?

      • x 1
    43. Gosh, and yes- the looped method of stringing. Fishcake showed it on her blog and I used it on my Idol Deborah. Sew the ends together (of the string), don't knot them, as you won't get the knot through the string channels. It works VERY well. Strung this way, even without front thigh slits, she can sit like a normal doll. If you follow that pic to her album, you'll see a bunch more examples of her mobility thanks to that stringing method:
      [IMG]Chalyss restrung

      @Iron_Dog, Thank you!! I made it. It's a yarn wig. :)

    44. @chalyss I really like that it looks like braids but not quite and neither is it dreads. One of my guys wears a Monique wig that is dreads (I think it's called Reeva?) and omg! it is sooooo much hair for him. He's a Soom ID51 and he's pretty much all hair because of the size of his head in relation to the poofy-ness of his hair. You wouldn't by any chance have done a tutorial for that wig or can point me at a tutorial you used to make it could you?

    45. @Iron_Dog, oh THIS one! (also an Impl Aaron)

Yes! SO.MUCH.HAIR! If it's this much on mine, then the ID51 must be swamped!

I did not do a tutorial or follow one (and I actually used too much yarn, a failing of mine) but I could make one. It's super duper easy and only takes a few hours. I think I used a sock as a head cap for that one, but a stretchy 'real' cap would be better. I tend to make my sock caps too shallow. I'm not the best wig maker. :frownyblush: But the nice thing with wigs is, they can still look good even imperfect. It's one of the few forgiving mediums. I do like the way yarn looks for hair... and brushed, it can look like angora!

    46. Yes, that's the wig and good lord, yes, he has hair for days and days and days. He's supposed to have dreads but I'm just not happy with how much hair he's got so I may need to break down and commission a dread wig for him. Or muddle my way through making him one. I have a brushed yarn wig that was supposed to be for some REALLY tiny-headed boys (they wear 3" wigs) but they were made too large *sigh*. They're beautiful but not a hope in hell of fitting them.

      • x 1
    47. A ha! another doll company I stalk :)

@chalyss wow, love your model girls! and your boy's dreads! You're so talented!

    48. Always good to see your older Impldolls @chalyss ^^ I love Imandi - she always looks like she's up to something wicked and she's enjoying it! And Mei Mei is a cutie - the pic of them together is so funny XD

My male Star body sits okay - at most I have to sort of work his legs into position, it's just him snapping his heels together that's a pain. Especially as I'm used to the Model who I can pick up one handed then plonk back down and he'll stand fine. Being so muscular up top and having small feet makes the Star top heavy so he needs a strong stance!

I still haven't found my old elastic (to be fair, I haven't looked. But it's usually when I'm not looking that I find stuff I've lost!) but with luck it's in the box with my dolls' shoes and socks so when I finally get around to sorting out footwear for those who are currently still barefoot (hopefully before I get bored of seeing them in Hogwarts uniforms and decide to change the theme!) I'll find it.

I'm also toying with the idea of making Heilan, my Dylan, a wig. I have a bag of curls I probably could have sewn into a nice short style if I had the patience to finish it but with no one in mind for it there wasn't much incentive. I want longer curls for him but the problem with curls is they can end up looking too bouffant. So maybe an undercut? I did buy some flocking to try that out but I haven't touched it yet.

    49. I found an Alma who is just stunning! I did not recognize her, to be honest. this is NOT my pic, so I'll just post the link:
      Athena

This person's dolls are just amazing and worth browsing.

@rubydoll, thank you! I find the Model sculpts to be very versatile and emotive. Iris is super for customizing and Erica just has some kind of original look I love!

Old Star bodies, the willowy ones, are all great posers. The New boy Star looks a bit clunky but he has some good pros and cons.

Heilan in curls! I'd love to see that! You may have to go thinner/sparser with the curls so they lay flatter. Always touchy! I am always just learning that with a wig, more is not always better!

@IngieBee, Thank you! I didn't do Aaron's dreads though- it's a wig style called Reeva, and comes in brown with yellow highlights or blonde with brown streaks. It's a LOT of hair. And a bit off scale for SDs... thinner dreads would be better.

    50. I second the comment about the Reeva style wig. My ID51 (size 6/7) wears one as his default wig and OMG! he's got so much fricken hair. It's bothersome enough that I'm thinking of alternate wigs for him.

    51. Hi everyone, I fell behind, just getting too busy all the time. So has anyone gotten their facebook event heads from November yet? If I can just get those, I'll have a head for "Marie Antoinette" LOL. So frustrating though! Ugh, I hope DDE hears back from Impldoll soon :(

RE: wigs, yes, they are hard to get just right. I have so many wigs that I'm just not happy with once they're on. It's so difficult, and the amount of money I've spent on wigs not being used is frustrating!! I really want to learn to make them myself, but I almost never have time to dig in and do anything :(

    52. Oh I do that with wigs and eyes! And in the beginning, I did that with clothes too. Now I am slowly trading away the extras especially since I shifted my entire dolly focus from a modern story line to a more fantasy based one. And that kind of clothing is expensive. But I think almost everyone goes crazy on wigs and eyes. Even when you can make your own wigs, you may not be able to make the one you want- or afford to!

    53. I'm usually pretty good with wigs/eyes. But that doesn't mean I don't have a good number of both that are just sitting in my eye box/wig bag. To be fair, a lot of the eyes I have are defaults that came with dolls. I think I've only ever used 1 pair of defaults as the actual defaults for one of my boys. I think I went through 3 or 4 wigs for Quin trying to get him the right shade/style. Khale was a giant pain in the butt with regards to eyes as nearly everything I put in his head turned his eyes into the Black Pits O'Doom (tm). He actually ended up stealing the eyes I'd ordered for another doll (that I didn't have yet) and I needed to order a different pair of eyes for him (which worked out fine but still). As far as clothes goes, I have a mountain of stuff. But I make almost all of my guys clothes so it costs me little aside from time/effort to make whatever.

    54. Has anyone gotten their event orders from November yet? Or anything from November? I really want a head for my body, even if it has no faceup. Grrr so annoying! LOL. I'm hoping they're starting to ship and nobody has remembered to update the waiting thread, :shudder:shudder:shudder:doh

    55. I sent in my event order on Oct 26th, and I haven't received a shipping notice yet. If Impldoll breaks the record for my longest wait for a doll... Well, I guess I'll be kind of amused considering my longest wait was from Dollshe, who doesn't have a good track record with wait times (I was lucky - 5 months).

I'm starting to hope the package will arrive during the week of my birthday, but for that to happen, they'd have to ship it soon.

    56. I guess it's probably the time of year. They had very good delivery times in the summer, maybe even spring of last year, then things kind of went down hill starting Novemeber, most likely because that was when more orders came in. Sigh, I'm just so sick of a headless doll body! LOL

    57. I've got a headless body as well. Going on a year now. I don't have a head ordered for it though so I'm not sweating it. To be honest, most days I forget about having a headless body but that's more out of sight out of mind for me. I can't afford to ask Impl yet about the head I need for the body so it's good I haven't been thinking about it.
