[Adopted] Immortality of Soul (Part V)

I've had two of them dressed in the butler suits before, but that was my DZ and Migidoll guys.
It always seem to take about an hour to get Osiris into his suit though so by the time he's ready I'm usually losing my enthusiasm a bit - or it's gone dark! XD
When I get my Bel Canto head back from the face up artist he'll be going on the Doll Leaves body so I will get him and Osiris butlered up for a photo shoot..... if I can think of something to do with them!

 

Oooh that's awesome! Also I took my new Blood doll with my boys to the BJD meet in Chicago and my new boyfriend came with me and he gave me a great idea for a name for Blood and I think it fits him perfectly. Haha He looked at Blood and said, "Don't tell me he doesn't look exactly like the Oracle from Neverending Story with his eyes like that!" And I was like like, omg he does... so now his name is Oracle and I love it. xD

 

Cool! I love his new name! Do you have any photos of your Blood? I don't think I've seen him.

i finally got a body for my Anos head, the Anos is going to need a de-yellowing since he is butter yellow but im really please with the proportions of the Iplehouse old YID body i got him, the only problem is hes supposed to be taller than his boyfriend my little rebels seven who wound up on a resinsoul 70cm body by accident (resinsoul body was for a different head but was such a perfect resin match and looked so good for him that he kept it) once i get my Anos a bit more put together ill post some pics of him!

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I feel a little lost.
What clothes are good on a 60cm boy? (Many companies don't list specific sizes but only e.g 1/3 or SD17 etc) I am wondering if you've tried any that were a big no-no and also - is 60cm the same as SD13? Or is it SD17 (although I think SD17 is 70cm)?

I'm asking since I want to get my dear Blood some clothing that fit him proper and come as close to real-looking as possible. IF that makes sense.

60cm would be SD13 size ^-^
SD17 would usually fit 65cms but fits IOS 70cms as well. My 70cm guys are usually in SD17 clothes as i prefer them to have fitting clothes rather than baggy ones.

I dont have experience with IOS 60cms but im sure SD13 would fit them fine ^-^

Thanks, I will do some time in the future when I might afford a body for them. I have some heads floating since that time when they lied and said that they'd discontinue the dolls (Blood, Shadow, Jaguar etc) so spent all my doll-savings (that were for clothes and another body) on some heads back then. Boy do I regret it after finding out it was just a trick they pulled. Still never figured out why they did it.

 

Yeah..... that was a bit strange. I was lucky because I got my Osiris from the restocks that appeared after they discontinued him. I feel bad for anyone who overpaid for the discontinued heads on the second hand market - or like you that they bought more than they should have because the sculpts were never going to be available again. It was never explained and it doesn't give me a massive amount of trust in the company really - however much I love their sculpts.
I'm just very happy I was able to grab Osiris as it doesn't look like he's ever coming back!

 

Been lurking around the forums for awhile, and am finally popping in to talk a bit.
Totally feeling Tornado's post up there on waiting on the bodies...I have a floating Jade head at the moment--but I'm really hoping I can test him on some alternate 70cm bodies at the next meetup. 80cm is just SO big, but the sculpt was absolutely perfect for the character that I wanted!!

 

i bought 2 floating heads myself when they said they were gonna discontinue the sculpts -_- .... I was kinda on track with getting them both bodies... but Luce happened and now im back to having 2 floating heads -faints-

 

I was really excited that they made a new 70cm body, but when I looked up the measurements I found that the new body is actually shorter than the original 70cm body was and my Osiris would look weird on it. I like the tall lanky look for my Sebby, so the bodies they have now just won't work for my character.

 

Yea ... i was really disappointed that the new bodies were actually 68cms instead of 70s >.< .... And the new hands that come with the new bodies are kinda really ugly....

 

I feel lost (returning to the forums after some time off makes me feel like I should return to newbieland :P
Is there any thread about where you buy your IOS guys clothes?
I know there was a thread like that for EID females. Not sure there is one for these guys

 

I don't have any IOS bodies, only heads, so I can't help with clothes sizes. There were some Taobao sellers who did an IOS 70cm size, but that would be the old IOS 70cm, so I don't know about the new one.

No. Only IOS heads - Osiris and Bel Canto.

 

Guess it's handy like that when you don't need to buy the body necessarily I still don't know if I like the ios body myself... but since I have it I guess I'll keep it

 

Well it was a question of funds as well and I think at the time I bought Osiris the 70cm body wasn't available because they were making the new one. I don't like the IOS bodies all that much and the new 70cm body would be way too small for him anyway. It's been a very long process trying to find the right body for him..... but I think the Dikadoll body I'm planning to get for him next will finally be the right one - I hope!

Bel Canto isn't so much of a problem. He's a perfect colour match with the Doll Leaves body I have. The only thing is that the head is way smaller than I thought it would be, so I'm not too sure how he will look on that body. And it means the present head that has the body will need a new one. So many difficulties!

 

Sounds like it indeed needs lot of thinking about which body to get for Ios head if not their own I've been planning to get another ios doll but next time without their body... I wasn't very satisfied with my last experience even if the sculpt is pretty

 

I so far have Lacrimosa and Blood full bodies, I bought the outfit they were selling for class 80 and it looks beautiful. I'm currently looking for clothing for my Blood (i.e Oracle) and there is a Korean site I'm looking at for suits... I don't know anything about taobao for clothing and a little afraid but I have a friend in Vietnam who's gonna help me order.

Also, don't mind the bear, my boyfriend thought it was funny to mess with him while I was in the bathroom. Lol

I have a dikadoll body, but I don't think it suits ios's heads. Ios's heads are usually quite small, the ratio is a bit strange on dikadoll's body. The neck looks too thick with ios's heads. So I ordered a body from spiritdoll and it suits perfectly

 

Taobao is great for clothes. I get all of my BJD stuff from Taobao sellers now and it's all been really good. They have a multi-language translation now, so you don't have to translate manually. If you're not sure about ordering then use an agent. They don't charge much and it's very useful. I use Taobaotrends and they are incredibly helpful - they even helped me to order custom sizing for BJD.

That's why I want a Dikadoll body. Osiris has a huge head, not like the new IOS 70cms. He's way too big for the DZ 70cm body I have. He's not too bad on the Doll Legend body he has at the moment, but it's still a bit small and it doesn't pose well so I need a body that will pose properly for him.

 

Dikadoll body can pose perfectly The doll in my avatar is using Dikadoll body and he can do and hold a lot of poses easily

 

Yay! That's why I want to get him a Dikadoll body (and because of the size). My poor Osiris head is a bit wasted at the moment as he can only stand leaning on things and not hold his arms well. It's not useful for photos. Do you know what resin colour would match IOS new normal?

I have the opposite problem with my Bel Canto head. It's really small - actually smaller than my 65cm Migidoll! - so I'm hoping his head will look big enough with a fluffy wig.....

 

My Dikadoll body is the whitening skin color and it doesn't match with my Garsh at all I heard someone said the normal skin color can match with ios head, but Dikadoll changes their resin color slightly every season, so it's actually a matter of chances XDD

 

Hmmmm. I wonder if that is the normal yellow or normal pink? I think I'll maybe try asking Dikadoll if they can send me a bit of resin to compare?

Hehe, Lacrimosa with a teddy bear is cute I adore the 80 body but gosh the clothing selection for it just gets so limited and I'm not sure if I want to go the trouble with Tabao maybe one day. Where was that doll meet if I may ask, @Peachy ?

I plan on commissioning an outfit for a class 60 ios doll with a Sezz head. I am ABOUT to buy him - he and an iplehouse s.i.d girl will actually be my very first bjds ever! I would like to have his outfit to put on him when I actually receive him though. I don't want to be a bother but it feels rather impossible to find these measurements. i iknow a few are actually posted somewhere, but i know some aren't regular measurements you find in their info. So if some kind soul would please help and give me these measurements, I would be the happiest camper.

Thanks! I'm extremely excited. I've been debating on things for what feels like ages and now that I plan on getting these I'm so hyped. One of the first outfits I'm doing for them will be cosplays that I plan on cosplaying myself. Lol.
But the people I am trying to commission from are asking for a few more detailed sizes that I can't find on the IOS site or anywhere else. Half of the info I need I have, it's just the things that I would need and wouldn't know without having the doll myself to measure.

They ask for these mesurements, but I think that's for female sculpts.

super edit: omg. i just clicked on your da. you're the reason I'm getting a Sezz sculpt. I love the IOS sculpts, but when I saw yours and then started looking at other photos on da and ig, fell HARD.

 

Could try asking IOS for those measurements. i'm sure they would be more than happy to get them for you ^-^
I dont have the 60cm body, or i would get you those measurements >.< Tip on geting outfits comissioned ... tell them to leave enough room in the pants so your doll can sit xD They love making the pants according to the measurements they are given and my boys usually end up not being able to bend/sit without the buttons popping open..

Yes. Your boys had me head over heels. I just couldn't help myself after seeing them and decided I wanted a Sezz as well. The IOS sculpts are so amazing to me, but you got me for Sezz. I do in fact have a character for him. I named him Setsuna after my favourite anime character - nerd lol. Setsuna F Seiei from Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Not taking his character by any means, just the name. He'll be a twin to the Iplehouse girl I plan on getting. The outfit I'm commissioning is actually going to be a cosplay for the MSG00 character. XD

 

I think IOS is closed until tmr, 10th of feb for the lunar new year. Most companies are.

When i started in this hobby, i never thought i would look at IOS but 4/6 of my crew are from them xD I prefer their older sculpts tho.. The newer ones seems a tad... different ?

Lol. I can understand. Once you've loved one, the others just fall in line. But yea, I've heard mixed things about people preferring either old or new more. Quite frankly I don't think I have much of an opinion on it since I never actually had an old sculpt and a new sculpt to compare. Just photos online.

 

Also make sure that they make the clothes with long enough leg length so that when you bend the knees the pants aren't going halfway up the leg!

Yes I did! I can't wait! And no, they actually didn't. :/ Still going to wait though.
But the people I commissioned from were okay with it and said they have some dolls that seem to be around the same measurements. But if they need any other information they'll contact me.
I can't wait to see him either! I will likely go to someone for a faceup as well. As I am artistically challenged. >.>
