[Adopted] Immortality of Soul: Discussion Part III!

Another pic of Archimedes, my Stille now that he has clothes and jointed hands ^_^ The hands are Dollzone and were blushed to match. The size is so perfect!
I find it really hard to photograph him for some reason.... he looks so much better irl than in the pictures.... It's weird too though because I'd swear his face looks different now than it did a month or 2 ago. Like he changed on his own somehow. He looks softer in my older pics and used to look like he had a bit of a smile before and lost it even though I did nothing to change him.

 

That's a really nice outfit!
I've found that sometimes they do grow and change over time. They become a little more... real. ^_^

I'm an amateur seamstress so still learning. I think the vest should have been longer and the collar of the shirt didn't turn out quite right so it rides up too high on his neck. But the overall effect translated I think.

For all those interested in the pants tutorial:
I'll definitely do it then! But could be a little while because I have no A/C in the room that I work so I need the weather to cool down a bit so I can do stuff in there. I start to feel woozy after a while in too much heat, even with the fan on and it's been unseasonably hot here for so early in the summer.

Really weird! I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't experienced it myself. Honestly I don't like Archimedes change, but maybe I'll get used to it. He looks older and harsher now. This did happen with one other of my dolls, Maximillian, a Soom Hyperon which was not a bad thing at all.

 

@Dirili Waow thank you so much for willing to share the pattern Since IOS 80 are huge it is difficult to search for clothes for them. The options are just too limited.
I bet it needs huge effort to make one by yourself! Really great job! ^_^

I used to have a scanner, but it somehow got lost in our last move. ><
I'm still trying to get my EID t-shirt pattern tweaked to fit these 80cm men. You'd think it would be easy...

Anyway... here are my two IOS 80cm boys: Lawrence the Lacrimosa, and ... nameless Stille.
Lawrence is just fine with the dressy look, but Stille is definitely hankering for something a bit more comfortable.

Heh... my dolls seem to change all the time, too! BJDs...! What can you do? They just have a (sort of) life of their own!

aernath-- Oooh, both Stille and Lacrimosa! They are fantastic! ... I'd SO have them, but am on a bit of a dolly diet and am trying not to get the really big guys... But I am still so envious!

 

Absolutely! I think, I'll just whip out a simple pair of shorts... get started, put it down, and then it takes weeks for me to get back to it! Argh!

april - Ugh. I wanted Anarmonia as well, but no way could I afford him after beggaring myself to get Lacrimosa! But having that month off in between, I was ready for Stille when he came along.
Just like real diets, I put myself on one, and gain more than I would had I just left well enough alone! lol
I blame the limiteds.

 

Unfortunately I don't have much equipment and I don't know much about photography I did finally break down and buy some stuff the other day though, so I'm going to give it another try when my package arrives.

 

OMG...when I read this I thought...soooo true., they do seem to change. I swear sometimes I walk by one of my guys and he looks like he's in a bad mood, then I need to check myself to ask if I'm the cranky one. Maybe there is a good reason that historically some people have felt a little creeped by dolls.


But I love seeing all the big boys and new pics, everyone's dolls look so inspiring. And that moto prop is amazing, I just wish SD sized stuff wasn't so expensive and hard to find.

 

Hi, I couldnt find measurements for Infernale head. Can someone help me? Would he look too big on 73 cm body? I m so in love with him, from the first day I saw him.

Sorenka - well, he wanted an everyday name, and David is what stuck. It made me think "David and Goliath", except this David IS Goliath! lol
I thought with the frown lines, he'd always be grumpy looking, but he's really turned out thoughtful looking to me. Even a touch wistful. That usually frustrates me, but this time, I'm liking it.

Nicky is a Shadow. I really need to make his other clothes. He's very old fashioned and has this smug tortured feel to him. I used to think he was just a bad guy but I have learned so much about him since I got him finished. He is beautiful by design but sometimes becomes so much more than just a pretty shell. Even though he does horrible things he is more than just darkness.

 

Did anybody else notice than Shadow's been missing on the IOS website for months now? I wonder why...

He is very snuggly Batchculture, lol. I really can't explain it. I didn't realize he had been taken down O.O I thought for sure he must just be on page 2. I was looking at the site trying to figure out how much they might charge for the 50s. One of them is just... Well it might need to happen. I was actually glad for the delay because it will give me a chance to save. I really need to take more pictures of Nichodemus too. I haven't really blushed his body yet because it has been so humid. He's in his bag right now and I know he's just going to be miserable when I take him out. My guys hate their bags.

TornadoLovesMelody, sadly we don't know either, all we can do is stalk the IOS website until they release the new sales plans. They pushed the release of the class50 back until september, but I wonder if they will open the order for some other sculpts during july and august or maybe they don't have any plans for these months beside working on the class50? It's a mystery!

 

So fun story... I thought that I would take a picture showing how snuggly mister grumpy butt is and I discovered that at some point he has been exposed to A) a little bit of moisture and B) some over-hot conditions, undoubtedly when we were doing some work in the house, and his bag got moved so his clothes.... stained the crap out of him. I spent a whole day scrubbing his pail tushy getting him clean again... but I was successful. I had those clothes on him for over two months with nothing. then he ends up in his bag where he is safe and he gets all screwed up. So he is naked on my desk the jerk. I will at some point reseal him and get pictures of him being snuggly, but I want to make him some clothes out of ancient clothes that I owned so I know they won't bleed out all over him. I was... horrified. I had triple checked everything to make sure he'd be OK and he just wasn't. I did learn something from this experience though. Nichodemus does not like his bag... AT ALL... and he requires being touched at least once a day and checked on... or else! he requires snuggles, he doesn't just like them. He even threw the magnet in his headcap. Oh was he ever mad at me! Here is a picture of him before he became a total pain in my rear.

He thinks my work is a very boring stupid place and I should have been paying attention to him instead of... doing whatever it was that I was doing. He's such a creep -_-

I actually forgot to mention that he threw one of his hands too. not that is came off in a way you would think either. I was... literally scrubbing his butt and I heard a tink on the floor. so I check his head for his eyes.... one two eyes... then more magnets... nope all magnets good... then I realize he has a fleshy hook instead of a jointed hand. It was laying on the floor at my feet... flicking me off of course. It really was. so I put his angry self down on the table, snatched it up, and showed my girlfriend so someone else could see the level of rage resin is capable of. Now I'm really just afraid to piss him off again. My poor baby was in his bag for too long. I'm a bad mommy.

I asked for the defult faceup, just the right amount of darkness, haha.
However I don't like IOS70 body, it i really unstable. I am seriously considering to insert aluminum wire into his waist and thigh ...

Congrats on your first IOS doll...that's to bad you don't like the class70 body. I wonder how differently it's engineered from the class60. I absolutely love mine. No floppiness at all and poses great. But your boy is lovely and looks so comfy

 

I thought the same as mdonline03, your boy look all comfy and relax in that couch! He is handsome too! I was hoping the class70 body would be as stable and a good poser as the class60 one. I hope you can find a way to make him more stable!

 

youqinjiyue - I have found hot glue sueding to help out greatly. It's quick and easy.

Osiris really does look like he's just having a good time lounging about waiting for someone to finish making tea or something. What a cuty. The twins are beautiful as well. Dark and light. I really like how they still feel so similar despite their obvious wish for separation.

OK so I made some new pants for my jerk. He wouldn't even let me finish them. He just got this look on his face and I had to stop to offer him comfort. Yes the new pants are also black but they are about 10 years old and were my favorite pants for a while and so have been washed about ten thousand times. To say that they are low rise on Nicky is being kind. I told him he's downright naughty and he didn't seem to care. At least he's not naked though.



I really need to blush his body. It has been so humid I have been afraid of what the MSC will do. I have a commission I have been finishing up any time it actually does fall below 80% here. I have a couple other shots I got when I took this one. He's so good just standing there. The fan was blowing his hair all around him which is why it's like that across his chest. Maybe his ghost knows he went to far when he flicked me off and he hurt my feelings. I didn't mean for him to be in his bag all that time. Thank you so much for all your kind comments about him. It really means a lot. You know how much it meant that I got him. I was so furious when I learned he wasn't available and then... well now he may never be released again...

Absolutely! You're right, it happens all the time. I make plans for Taz, he wants something else and gets his way. I researched names for my Vezeto and thought Raoul would be a nice name for him, but he tells me his name is Eyke.

I just love Myrretah's Nicky so much because he's such a controversial character. He's evil, and he's nice and loves his cuddles. If I understand him right, he probably wants to be forgiving and to enjoy his hugs right away but he can't bring himself to do that.

Soooo true! I have learned to "wait" before making any real decisions. I was hoping Timi wouldn't reject his name...and he didn't cause he's a submissive sort and will do as told. But others...oh brother....we had to make a deal.

I really love finding out little sniblets of about everyone dolls they become so real in many ways and like Dirilli said in an older post...sometimes these guys do kinda "change" on us and we see them completely differently...

I hear you on waiting to spray MSC. I finally have a body for my Osiris and am anxious to get started on him but of course the fog has decided to stay socked in throughout the day. ;_;

 

So I brought him along for a little impromptu meet up yesterday. I'll post pictures later. He got his new pants all set for that so you will be able to see those too. It's funny because he insisted upon being in my lap the whole time we were driving. Once there he was fine to stand off on his own, but till then he was all curled up. I handed him off to Rachel, the girl I did the commission for and she said it was like holding a baby. It's as though he's trying to make up for the bad things he does to my other characters, lol. In the story, he is struck with moments of great kindness and empathy. It is as though the cruelty is simply a mask he uses to hide his fears of being alone. If you would like I can post a link to part of the story where he shows that vulnerability. The character is complex and the shell doesn't really fall short. He is a big bad guy who needs snuggles. You guys are right, lol.

i bought a IoS on impulse at dollism, and i was wondering other then the default body is there any other alternative body i can use for him?

 

I got my M head today. I'm so excited....

 

The Luts Super Senior bodies also work great for the IOS heads (they look identical too).

 

how is the propotion like? as in small head big body??

 

Who did you get/what size? I have M on a class60 body but I have a few other boys in that range that I think the head would look fine on...

EDIT: And congrats Ereskigal on your M! I love M. I'll be curious to see what you go with him.

 

OH pictures pictures pictures please of the new guys! I feel like I am inundating you with Nicky but I can't help it. Um M is one size down from him I think? Anyway, if yours is white skin then I know spiritdoll white matches. Not sure about the normal because my normal skin spirit body has an or-doll head on it. I don't have a reference for the normal immortality of soul skin tone. Uh... if M is a size down from a shadow head he might do well on the 60 spirit body though or if he is the class 70 then the proud which is what Nicky has. I have owner pictures of both bodies if you'd like to see. To jump the gun a bit... errrr... here is one of those pictures of Nicky from the last get together that I spoke of. I LOOOOOOOVE his back. He's so pouty when I put him down though. So stoic. Mdonline... Oh my, you really liked it? I know it was kinda a long couple sections. He is kinda a conundrum though. I still really need to blush his body. HE is amazing without... to me. But once complete, he will have the look of pale marble with veins, just hints barely hidden by the color of his skin. Those shoulders kill me.

 

I think the match is great (for the 70class head). This is my Jaguar on a Luts SSDF body. (Pardon the finger. he has an attitude. and my other pics were closer up or far away. I need to take new ones!)

There are a few other Jags here also on this body. ^.^ If you have the smaller head, maybe the Luts Senior body could work, but I don't have a smaller head or that body to test out for you.

Kagari - It really depends on the head you have (class 60, 70, 80), as to what body might fit it best. Also, are you looking for a white or normal match?
