Me too. I bought way too many dolls in the past year and even more in the past month and need a lot of recovery time. I love the Lovely doll body. I wish they'd sell it separately too.

You are all very welcome. I'm glad I caught the announcement before the site went down. I'm looking forward to the new line too. More than half of my collection is from Elfdoll.

Hi everyone, I'm on the hunt for some clothes for my Yumi but stuck on sizes - should I go with slim MSD/MNF or the other size (which only gives iple JID as a size comparison)?
Also would she fit a pair of boots made for a volks MSD?

FrozenRose, my other dolls are minifee so I always look for slim MSD but as my Lovely dolls wear dresses I'm not sure that I can help you much.

FrozenRose, this answer is a little late, but slim MSD clothes seem to fit OK. I've had a hard time finding shoes though. Every time I try on MSD shoes, they're too wide.

Volks MSD boots are big for LovelyDolls, I have my Yumi with shoes from RubyRed and slim msd/mnf clothes fit her pretty well. I've used clothes from TTYA and the shirt in the photo is from Wikmut. I hope it's help you

Hi everyone~

It's been a really long time since I've visited the thread! I don't have Ivy (my Yumi/half-closed eyes Dami) anymore but I am currently thinking about trying to find an OE Dami.
I was a bit dismayed to find that Elfdoll has kind of disappeared. I really do hope they come back with new dolls next month...March, they said, right? I'm very curious and part of me wants to hold out until I know what exactly they are releasing into the dolly-sphere so I don't kick myself later.

Anyways, is this an appropriate place to talk about doll design/aesthetics...I mean you know, just ideas I am kicking around for how I would like my girl to look, or would another thread be more appropriate?

 

This thread has been very quiet. I guess we're all waiting to see what Elfdoll does. Dew_Drops, I don't know about others but I'd be interested to hear your character ideas.

On my side, I sent out my Elfdoll Dami/Yumi (I never know which is which) Sullen faceplate for a face-up by peppercrushes (Darjeeling Aesthetics) and I couldn't be happier with the design! Still waiting to get her back, but the photos of her by the artist are wonderful and I can't wait to see her in real life.

 

I believe Yumi was white skin and Dami was normal skin.

 

The names tied to the skin is so confusing!
I have a normal skin half closed eyes--I thougth she was a Yumi, but now I think she is Dami.
But what about the open eye normal skin-- is she a Dami too?

I do love them both!!

 

Yumi/Dami both shared the open eye, half closed eye, closed eye and smiling face plates. It was a rather confusing way to do it!

 

I always thought it was just me, because I could never tell them apart.

 

Hmmm! What about real skin? Mine's a real skin faceplate.

Also, has anyone checked out elfdollshop.com? It looks like it's back, but it doesn't seem to be for BJDs any more, although it seems to be the same artists... I'm so confused!

 

It looks like the site might still be under construction? There's a button for Elfdoll Shop, but it doesn't seem to work yet. Looks like they decide to consolidate Rainman's figurine work with his BJD art, maybe??

 

There are some neat galleries of his prior work, but they don't have anything for sale yet. I'm not surprised. They are frequently late with new releases.

I did see the real skin Twiggy was called Yumi! Maybe they aren't even clear on the Dami/Yumi issue!

 

Hey guys, sorry to butt in here, but I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what size wig Dami/Yumi wear? I am hoping to one day get one but I've looked and though I knew, I've since forgotten and can't seem to find the info anywhere. Many thanks for any help! Oh yeah also what size eyes is the recommended size? I normally go down one size to get the look I like in my dolls now, but I forgot their eye size too. *fail*

 

Mine are wearing 6-7 wigs and 14mm eyes.

 

Hmm okies this is all good to know. I just bought a wig that arrived today which is meant to be a 7-8 but due to the design is very small and tight and I was kinda hoping they'd wear a 6-7 because this seems more 6-7 than 7-8 to me. Maybe it'll work and I have quite a few eyes in 14mm so along with the clothing I already have, I might have some stuff to fit whenever I do manage to get one. Thanks Alewife!

 

It is getting rather warm here in the Southwest, and I need to get the girls out of the winter outfits. One last photos before the changeup!

 

@chopsart Your girls are so cute and well dressed as always ! I have an open eyed and a halve eyes Yumi or Dami. The seller told me the open eye faceplate was a Dami. I couldnt tell !

This girl litterally stole my heart !! I've been trying to do some research..and maybe you can help me guys.

So I had a look at the website (elfdollshop.com) ..but I really couldn't understand anything. There is just one picture of what seems a bjd, but if I try to open it..I can't see nothing..just a blank page.
Now..what I understood reading some posts here is that:
- they are out of production (so if you'd like one you'll need to look at the second hand market)
- they wear 6-7 inches wig and 14mm eyes. They are slimmer than unoa and shorter (anyone can tell me how many cm are they?), but they can share same dresses (they are tiny bit buggy)
- they are called mini lovely dami (normal skin) and mini lovely yumi (white skine tone) which both have the open and half opened eyes mold

Did I get anything wrong??
Any help will be highly appreciated!

I keep checking the Elfdoll site, hoping they'll reopen.

 

There were two lovely girl bodies. The original one was shorter and the newer one was a pretty standard MSD height. I don't have a Unoa but I have other girls I could include in a picture. It will take me a couple days at least. I'm way behind on pictures!

So are Yumi and Dame the same sculpt? ..it seems to me that the only difference is that Yumi is in white skin and Dami in normal skin

Thanks Nancy ..it will be really nice to see some comparison pictures. In Alewife's link they say that Yumi and Dami are 41cm.. is this the original shorter one? I've seen some pictures of Yumi/Dami on another thread with a different body and the bust looked bigger than the pictures I've seen in this post. Is this another difference with the old body?
