I have found Myri's look. She may be wearing these jeans for the rest of her tiny resin life. [emoji3]

2. icicle yeah apparently Ello wears Kelly clothes, I think she's just a little smaller than a puki. And I've been buying yosd clothes for Hiro, he's a sinch to buy for.

3. Super Girl Myri! Perfect look for her...totally darling!

4. My Hiro and his little friend Ello arrived today. Im really happy with everything ..except little Hiro seems to be missing something. ( I ordered him as a male and he/she is definitely female )

5. oh dear, does dream high do angel bodies maybe? i don't remember seeing the nude bodies to know whether they had specific boy/girl bodies or not. they are both really cute, though. which faces did you get for hiro? and are you doing his faceups or sending him out? also how is his posability? sorry for all the questions but i'm really tempted to get one myself so i'd love to know more :)

6. The bodies are definitely sexed. Its not a big issue really, im not overly bothered. He poses really well.. Maybe if I get the time I'll do some comparison shots with my little fee. In fact his body shape is similar to the little fees, but his head is definitely smaller. He is very cute in person and I have all three face plates. The sleeping FP has a gap between the eyelids , big enough to slip eyelashes through. Which I thought was a nice touch. The jointed hands are a bit fiddly but I knew what to expect there as my daughter has a DC doll with the same sort of thing.
In the picture above Hiro is standing holding Ello completely unaided.

7. i'd love to see that when you get the time. right now my littlefees are my best posers so that would be a great comparison for me. the three faceplates looked like a lot of fun, lots of choice for expressions.

that came out great. did you make an actual wig or attach them direct?

8. Thanks auntbear. I put a thin coat of macs clear silicone on his head, then stuck the feathers on. Messy process with little feathers flying all over! It looks better in person as this enlarged photo shows every tiny stray feather.

9. @Jonlyn Oh my gosh! Your little guy looks so cute !
@auntbear I'll try my best to get a few shots over this weekend

10. Thank you samson! Feathers have been flying here today.....

11. no rush, just whenever you have time, though i look forward to any pictures you manage to take of that cutie :)

those really make cute wigs! love her little top pony

12. @auntbear I took a few pics but if theres anything specific you want to see just give a shout :)

Just take a stroll around my Flickr (obvs click on this photo to take you there) then click the < arrow to see more comparison pics.

A few things to bear in mind ! Tilly,my Ante, has magnets in her feet (As most of you are aware) and the table they are on is metallic. However, Tilly is from 2009 and is quite loosely strung. Hiros resin is very smooth and wasnt able to "grip" the table as well. As for skin comparison, Tilly has mellowed (or is that yellowed) over the years, but she was a ns and Hiro is a creamy off white , definitely too light to be called NS. Hiros resin has a nice feel to it . hope this is helpful :aheartbea

13. hiro is ns? wow he is really light colored. i thought he was ws seeing them together until i read what you wrote.

thanks for all the poses. it's pretty amazing what he can do. i saw someone on another thread have a deaf doll with the fully jointed hands so he could do sign language. i thought that was a really cool idea, but their doll was sd sized and i don't do dolls that big so was thinking hiro would be a good alternative if i can afford him before he sells out. i'm a little concerned about the color though. i've seen some gorgeous ws dolls and admired them in other peoples collections, but they don't seem to work for me :(

14. There'sThere's actually no mention anywhere of the resin colour on the sales thingy. I knee he would be light but its really noticeable just how light when he's next to Tilly. The little Ello that came with Hiro is a much peachier warmer colour. I'm exactly the same as you regarding WS, but somehow with him I've just got passed that, but let's see how he looks with a face up ?

15. i wonder whether dhs is planning to offer him in other colors or if they would do a special request? donny did for my haru... when i've saved up enough i'll have to ask.

in the meantime i look forward to seeing what you do with yours.

16. My Chibi Feilene on her chair~~ She's so adorable!
Previous owner got her special made with the boy bust part, so she's more genderless ^^ <3

17. and extra special since that makes her one of a kind!

18. I'm working on a Micro size sweater. I adjusted the crochet pattern down from Pukifee size and made one in Pretty Punch thread. I have a lot of punch thread, so it's great for pattern testing. Now I am making it in a much less bulky bamboo thread. [IMG]

19. that one would make a great winter coat

20. Elvenia repaired the pump, and very tired...

21. good for her, isn't it nice when they help out?

22. Oh, Yes! Especially when you have`t "extra" parts after assembly...

23. oops :doh, well at least she tried ;)

24. auntbear

:) She tried well, but the pump began to work as a radio

25. at least it started to do something! she sounds very creative, maybe she can turn something else into a pump for you? when my kids get going i just get a bunch of pieces and nothing works, they mean well, but i have to hide my tools when they are around....

26. hey guy's, I've been a bit of a lurker on this section and have a couple of elvine's and recently the elastic has started to go really bad and in one case has snapped in my dolls and was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on where to get some elastic for replacement I've looked around a bit but cant find anything I think would be suitable any suggestions would be awesome

27. for these little guys i would try a sewing/fabric or a yarn store store for shirring elastic or the elastic you knit into cuffs

28. I have some beading elastic that looks just like what is used in my DHS critter. It's called Stretch Magic.

29. Beading elastic is best. But, make sure you stretch it before you restring the doll, so they won't get floppy too soon.

30. thanks auntbear I didn't even think of that I have some of that lying round in my sewing room somewhere, and if that doesn't work im off to spotlight for beading elastic thanks for the help (any offers to help restring lol) not looking forward to that feeling as though I may snap an arm or something

Richi and I went to Doll-A-kon yesterday. She got a name badge and we made her soup in the resin soup class.

32. Sounds like you both had fun, hope her soup wasn't quite as big as her name tag or the poor girl might have a hard time finishing it ;)

33. The soup was more Richi size because we brought our own bowls. [IMG]

37. anyone take advantage of the june special sale?

38. what was it, and is it over now?

39. He brought back some of his discontinued dolls, like Feilene and Chibi Feilene - available in 5 new glow in the dark colors. There was also a give away.
But it looks like some are still available if anyone has wanted one and missed out before!!!

40. I placed an order for a Flora in glow in the dark purple! I was also luck and Donny let me order new wings for my Chibi Feilene and a new head for my Gaia (Her head snapped in the back) Then I got an email saying I won 2nd prize in some sort of event! I didn't even know there was an event, so I'm super excited!

41. congrats! what did you win?

is your flora purple all the time or only when she glows?

42. Yeah, one of the ways of entering the Contest was to place an order.
Congratulations.

43. I think she only glows purple, I'm super excited but now i need to figure out how to do a glow in the dark photo shoot.I think I won another Chibi Feilene which is awesome! I'm trying to find one of the little Ossia deer, though I need to save up a bit before I can buy one.

44. Hopefully you'll be able to get the glow in the dark photos :)

Also has anyone taken more pictures of Hiro? And did you guys get the different face plates? i have to admit my dream doll would be a very flexible/posable doll with several face plates so that it is easier to have different emotions :) of course I have no money to afford a hiro for a while :( so I must live through those that have them!

I also need to get back to posting more of my Nero on here! It's been way to long :)

Also to add, did anyone purchase an Ello?

45. ballerina you'll need to use a tripod since you will need a long exposure time to get low light pictures like that in focus.

46. i have a Hiro with all three face plates but hes off having the face plates painted at the moment. Hes a lovley little guy and those jointed hands are amazing - so tiny ! I also have an Ello, which Donny sent me as a free gift for waiting so long on my Hiro. Donny is an awesome artist and seller ! He really knows the meaning of customer service ! ( well in my experience anyways ) Once Ume, my Hiro is back I shall post a photo or two !

47. He really does know the meaning of customer service! He's definitely helped me several times :) and I'm super excited for you to get Ume back!

48. Have to agree 1,000% with the above two comments. Donny can't be beat in customer service. He's also helped me out several times. And I've seen dolls of his listed secondhand where the owners say they were custom made upon request!!!! You tell me ONE other company that would do that???? He modifies his own products for individual owners! That can't be outranked in my opinion.

I would love to have a Hiro smiling girl, I can't believe it has jointed hands. But then teeny tiny stringing is Donny's specialty!

49. My Hiro was also sent with the wrong pelvis - girl instead of boy. Donny made no qualms in sending out a replacement ( Free of charge ) I truly hold him in high regard !

in other news - Ive had progress pics of my little boy ! Hes looking so cute already and isnt finished. Cant wait to share him here with his tiny buddy Leif ( Ello)

50. He is a great doll maker and I am happy he is staying in the business (for now).

I am super excited for you and happy to see the up coming photos :)

In the mean time here's my Nero, Biliex. it's been forever since I've photograph her so I definitely need to change that!

[IMG]Biliex by Emie M, on Flickr[/IMG]

51. That's a fantastic photo ! I really love it ! Billiex looks so at home .

52. What do you mean he's staying in business "FOR NOW" ....is there some possibility that he wouldn't?

53. Thank you :) Yeah I really love her being in nature scenes, its really where I feel like she looks the best and is more at home :) Im going to need to go out and take more photos of her now that I have some free time!

Oh no no I wasn't meaning recently I was just thinking way in the future if he decides to retire

54. Yes, Donny's fairies definitely demand nature settings and they really do just look so natural in them, like they belong there. Unlike my other dolls that just look like dolls in trees! :huh?:

Oh good! You scared me!

55. I love his aesthetics, the faery/nature dolls are so unique and beautiful. And I like that he offers a "doll clinic" should something go wrong. That's the type of company I like to support.

56. I completely agree! It IS the type of company you'd want to support!!
If only the "fat cat" doll companies would operate with such consumer care.

I purchased a secondhand Pipos fullset that was in mint condition - but because of ill packaging it arrived broken. I contacted Pipos and asked if I could send them my damaged head and have them send me a new one with the fullset faceup; I even offered to pay for it. They said they could only send me a blank! I can force myself to understand, but I'd rather not.
However,
I purchased a brand new Filia from Donny, my infant grabbed my work table and knocked everything on the ceramic tile floor (partly my own fault, it's the only room I currently had to do doll work) - Filia lost both ears and his chest part busted. I emailed Donny just asking about replacement parts and he sent me a whole new Filia (he said he uses a new resin), but that's amazing!! I know of NO other company that would do any such thing.
I see secondhand DH dolls listed as customs all the time! Even bought one. If you want one of his dolls with different ears - he does it. If you want one of his dolls in a specific color - he does it. Who does that???

I only have 5 DH dolls (I missed the boat on a few LE). In my opinion they are priceless. Because of Donny's passion for what he does and his compassion for his customers, I would never sell my DH dolls under normal circumstances. They hold a very different level of sentimental value for me. His is a skill far above any other - whom else has produced a double jointed 7cm doll?????

57. ohmyhi, that is a wonderful pic!

have to agree about donny and his customer service. i have my darling haru because of donny. i fell in love with her, long after she was sold out (but when i just discovered dh dolls) and asked if he would ever consider doing another edition in a different resin so i could get one some day and he offered to make me a one of custom for the same price as a regular doll instead!

i have three of his dolls already but hope to get another couple some day including another custom!

58. :love Well its seems we are all in total agreement - Donny is totally awesome !!:aheartbea:aheartbea Hope he can feel the love coming from this thread ! Another thing I agree with - theses little guys are definitely suited to photographing outdoors. I tried to take a few shots of Lief indoors and the camera wouldnt focus or the flash insisted on wanting to go off ! I take him out into the garden ..and bingo !
