[Adopted] Doll Chateau Youth Dolls Part 2

Does anyone know how a dollzone Carter head would look on a DC y-body-6? Maybe it would be tottaly ridiculous, as Carters 1/4, but I've noticed the neck size is only a .2 cm difference and the shoulder width of the two dolls is the same. The carter head and Margarita head circumference also only differ by .6 cm, so I was thinking maaaybe it could work? If anyone has any pictures or input that would greatly appreciated!!

 

I have a couple different wig ideas in my head for her. I’m in the process of sewing up outfits for her. Right now she’s just in a bodysuit I made for her. I’ll put some pictures up soon. I’m a newbie here, so I’m still figuring out everything. I’m thankful for this place- for all of the advice.

I am hoping to pay off my Lillian some time soon. While I am not someone who takes pictures of my dollies very often, at the least I will show off mine for you guys.

Yes! I debated the human body too at the time, but my bill was already over $1100 and I thought maybe I should stop there. XD

 

Such a true story xD I'm debating if I should get her on Y-06 body.

 

She would be very lovely on it. That was the body I was considering for her too. I would have probably gotten her fully human, but Oobie Doll had her already in stock and gave me a sweet deal because she was used as a convention display, so I snatched her up but quick. I had also wanted the hooves to see if I could make her a human with hoof legs, and DC didn't offer those separate, so I am pretty happy and excited for her.

 

She is amazing either way! I'm super happy for you and waiting to see her pictures

 

Thanks! I am hoping to finish her layaway and see her moving here within two months or so. While I am not absolutely certain that the remainder of my order has arrived, it should be there soon if is not!

 

I recently received a Doll Chateau Y-body02. I was wondering if most people re-string upon arrival? He came directly from the company and seems very tight. Also, makes horribly squeaky sounds when moving any joint. Does that only improve with sueding? I'm new to the hobby and this is my first larger doll. Any suggestions/recommendations greatly appreciated!

 

I am of the opinion the tighter the better! A super tight doll with real suede sueding poses like none other.

 

I also feel tighter is better, unless you can't get the head off with a puller, then it is maybe too tight. I had someone come in like that once, I could not get the head off without a real fight. I just gave up and restrung with new string.
Also, don't be alarmed about the squeaks! It is nothing bad. Sueding does fix that though, mostly. I seem to recall my A-03 body being squeaky too, but I just manhandled him again and his suede keeps him quiet.

 

My Agnes is creaky as well. Maybe we need to add sueding to our to do list, @Pandy?

 

We could do a sueding party when my Lillian shows up, if you want. I am hoping it will be soon. I do really like the creaky noises though. It reminds me of when I got my first Dollzone doll.

My parents are going to realize just how much resin I purchased in the last six months, all these boxes showing up one after another. >_> In addition, I suuuuper want someone on that nice Y-02 body, so I am tempted to start another short layaway...

 

I like the creaky noises too but tried to move him around while my husband was asleep. Haaaa! The dog started barking and he flew awake freaked out. Haaaa! Suede posing sounds amazing. But also like a lot of work .... eventually...
Who are you going to put on the Y-02? I got the Zenobia head. Haven't done the faceup yet but excited to see Zenobia as a boy!

 

Has anyone taken the wrist & ankle extenders out of their youth bodies? I was thinking of doing so with mine but not sure whether it would look weird or not? If you have could I see some pictures?

 

I was thinking about that, and maybe either keeping him Ingemar, or Snow Nymph or Dollzone Merlin.

Ah, I wish I had photos of my friend's Cristina without her joints. She took them out and she looks pretty good. It is common, so someone should have a photo somewhere around here.

 

My girl is without the extra joints, I have the Y-04 body and I think it looks pretty good!

perfect, thank you!! I think I will do it to my Snow Nymph as well. I love how the extenders look but not for the character I'm going for. Now to figure out how to get them out since she's strung so freaking tightly

Another quick question - has DC ever sold heel feet for youth body besides the literal high heels? D: I just want her to be able to wear high heeled shoes eventually. Does anyone have suggetions for that? Maybe I'll have to buy heel feet from somewhere else Dx Maybe DollZone heel feet? or would those look weird or be too small? D:

 

I don't think DC sells separate heel feet, but I've seen Dollmore Eve feet fit well! The dollzone feet would be too small and would unbalance her (I once put some regular SD feet on her and standing her was a pain!).

 

I ordered separate boy feet with a larger order through Oobiedoll. It does not hurt to ask about tacking them on if you are already buying something else. I do know that they will not sell the hooves separate though, I asked. >_>

Also, my Lillian layaway is done, but... snowstorms. Noooooo! Also, I asked right after about adding wigs to the order, so double delay. XD

 

I have to correct myself, it isn't the Dollmore Eve feet, but the Dollmore Model feet that fit the DC girls!

hi everyone! I recently purchase a DC stacy head and I HOPE she will be my last doll. however I have had so so so much difficulty finding a y-body-03 or evem a y-body-04 with the jointed toes..does anyone know where someone is selling one or where they are in stock..?

 

I would say check in with Ooobie Doll. Angie sometimes has stuff in stock and because she is a smaller dealer she some times has quite the gems. I got my y-body-01 from her after everyone else was out of stock.

I took a look around at all the American dealers I knew, and no one had the bodies listed as in stock. Doll Peddler had a Stacy full doll in stock with faceup and blushing, but that might be a bit more than you were hoping for.

Also, Oobie has been updating photos with my new girls, so excited. We are searching for her perfect wig. :3

 

i looked it up and yes way too much for me unless I could get someone to buy the head. Hopefully I will find someone selling just the body

It's nice to have a doll that has Y03 as the default body, but I don't think I'll be getting the full set on this one. I'm really not crazy about the outfit! It's not my style. Those tattoos, though

I'm quite tempted by the head sculpt. Gorgeous wide open eyes and full lips! Eager to start seeing photos of this one in the wild.

 

Doll Chateau does some weird things with fashion, don't they? I sooort of like the dress and I want to like the neck piece, but those upturned tips are just weird. She makes me think of a B movie alien. XD

 

Yeah it’s really not very consistent. Evangeline B is like a marching band uniform, Stacy is... some wires? With a fluff at the waist? Sedirila is a guess a little 70s inspired with the dress idk.

They make art dolls kind of so it makes sense they’d vary but it feels like completely different designers for each outfit. Maybe it is!

 

I like to think the person who designs the fullsets likes various types of fashion and tries to make outfits based on some whatever fashion lark they are feeling when they see the mold. XD

 

I got my Lillian's body and holy smacks, it is gorgeous. I am wondering if DC would be willing to sell the Y-06 hip and regular feet so I could convert it to human when I wanted to. It is super delicate though and the details are amazing, I appreciate OobieDoll's concern for her to ship her separately. It has been rainy out and I'm currently a bit sick, so no pictures yet, but when her head shows up there will be a few.

Pictures to come soon! I got my Lillian head in today, and I am somewhat surprised by it. It is not obvious and you might think, "oh, the horn is a magnet, she will be super easy to make human when I want", which is what I thought, but there is a human head and the horn head, and they are separate. The horn head has a recessed spot for the horn to give it that nice, flushed-against-the-head horn look. So, in short, if you want Lillian as a human, ask for the human head.
